While out scouting deer, a Connecticut hunter claims to have spotted a bigfoot creature observing him from a nearby hillside. Others in the area report strange activity as well. Bigfoot researcher Chris Billingsgate investigated the report.

lynn1“It must have seen me come up over the hill and I remember that was the thing that actually scared me the most… it was having something looking right at me, there is no question that it knew I was there. And I froze and it was not moving, so for a moment I was questioning what I was seeing but there was a certain authenticity about it that had me scared and it didn’t look like a suit or like, you know, staffed animal or something like that,” said the eyewitness.

The creature, he added, confirmed his fears when “it just turned and walked into the woods”, disappearing “rather quickly”. He then proceeded to head back to his cabin, located “one quarter of a mile from the actual sighting”.

“I didn’t go into the woods after the creature I just went back to the house. That afternoon I did go back up later with my brother to investigate a little bit further. The salt block, which typically takes a couple of weeks for a deer to lick down, was gone, and we had put it there the night before.”

Tonight we speak to several witnesses who share their encounters. We will be speaking to a railroad worker who had a strange encounter while working in a remote location. We may take a few calls tonight as well to let our listeners share their encounters. We will also be speaking to a gentleman who was in a graveyard with gang members and ran across one of these creatures for a night he will always remember.

Bigfoot Is Actually A Ground Sloth

sloth2Most Bigfoot believers assume Sasquatch is some sort of hominid. After all, he supposedly walks around on two legs, has primate-like arms, and even possesses a humanish face. Of course, there’s always the possibility he’s actually an extinct ground sloth that evolved to look like an ape. According to one far-out theory, Bigfoot might actually be a member of the superorder Xenartha, which would make him related to anteaters and armadillos.

This theory may not be based on evidence, but it is based on lack of evidence. For example, sloths have internal testicles.  Uncanny, eh? Similarly, sloths digest food slowly. It might take anywhere from one to three weeks for food to pass through a sloth’s guts. Perhaps that’s why we’ve never found the remains of a Bigfoot meal: Since he has a sloth gut, Bigfoot can go weeks without food.

Disease Almost Wiped The Species Out

When Europeans came to the New World, they brought along all their viruses. Some researchers believe over 20 million Native Americans lost their lives to foreign diseases, and according to one theory, the same thing might have happened to Bigfoot.

The story goes that Bigfoot and all his hairy friends were having a grand old time in North America until the humans showed up and crashed the party. These short, smooth invaders brought along a bunch of new sicknesses, and the Sasquatch immune system just couldn’t cope. In addition to the viruses, humans were also packing weapons and kicked the Bigfoot people out of their territory, forcing them to retreat deep into the woods.

Evidently, Bigfoot are a lot smarter than they look. They figured out humans were bad news and decided to stay hidden. Over the years, Bigfoot elders taught their youngsters that the “Devil People” were monsters and not to be trusted. That’s the reason Bigfoot doesn’t come out of hiding and join humanity or try trading with us. They learned their lesson long ago, so they’ll just stay undiscovered, thank you very much.

Invisibility

0425Bigfoot and the Predator actually have a lot in common. They’re big, bipedal, and don’t exist in real life. They also both have cloaking abilities that allow them to disappear whenever people show up in the woods. Well, that’s what some of the nuttier folks in the Bigfoot community claim anyway, and it’s an easy explanation as to why it’s so hard to find this oversize monkey.

Some posit Bigfoot can vibrate his body at such high speeds that it distorts the light around him, causing him to appear invisible. Others claim his translucent hair reflects light like a mirror. Coupled with dark skin, these reflective hairs blend Bigfoot into the scenery like a special-ops sniper.

As proof, the cloaking crowd offers quite a few photographs—of nothing. That’s the whole point, after all. He’s invisible. If you look hard enough at these pictures, you can supposedly see Bigfoot’s outline, similar to how the Predator appears in the 1987 action film. Of course, the real culprit here is a lot of wishful thinking and a heaping dose of pareidolia.

Biblical Bigfoot

We all know the story of how old brother Cain struck the blow that laid his brother Abel low. And we’ve all heard how God set a mark on Cain and cursed him to wander upon the Earth. But what happened to Adam and Eve’s son after that fateful day? According to the poem “Beowulf,” Cain gave birth to some rather ugly kids like Grendel and his dear old ma. And a few folks think Cain’s descendants roam the forests of North America today. Condemned to live apart from the rest of society, they grew long hair and morphed into terrible beasts.

There is also the tale of Apostle David W. Patten. According to the legend, it was a fine day in 1835, and Patten was riding down a Tennessee road when a tall, shaggy man stepped out of the woods. As the tale goes, Patten believed the creature was Cain himself, and they spent the next few hours chatting about spiritual matters. Fast-forward a bit to the 1980s, and some LDS members started suspecting the figure was in fact the modern-day Sasquatch.

If you’re not partial to the “Cain Theory,” there are several other Biblical options you can choose from. Some say Bigfoot is related to Esau, Jacob’s older, hairier brother. There’s also the “Nephilim Theory.”  Fallen angels and human women having children together.

Bigfoot The Psychic

No one can catch Bigfoot because he’s psychic, according to Linda Jo Martin. A self-proclaimed telepath, Martin believes Bigfoot picks up on the vibes of people traipsing through the woods. If it senses a cameraman or scientist coming its way, the Bigfoot disappears, leaving the glory hounds behind. That’s why Martin thinks it’s a good idea to bring a psychic along on a Bigfoot expedition. With the help of a little ESP, researchers could tell the Bigfoot they mean it no harm and even ask it to hang out for a little while. Of course, Martin warns that most of the time Bigfoot will probably say no.

Martin isn’t the only one who makes these claims. Writing for The Huffington Post, Connie Willies tells of the time she woke up during a camping trip and sensed two Sasquatches outside her tent. “This is what you came to see,” one of them said inside her brain, but Connie was too terrified to unzip the tent (or perhaps too unconscious to wake up). After deciding she didn’t want to see them, the Bigfoot disappeared without a trace.

Bigfoot is really good at vanishing, especially if Kewaunee Lapseritis is to be believed. The author of Psychic Sasquatch, Lapseritis says Bigfoot can slip in and out of various dimensions. Whenever it needs to escape, it just parts through the curtains of our universe and steps into the next. Lasperitis also claims to know Bigfoot’s true purpose on Earth. As it turns out, the big guy is actually a protector of the environment and uses its telepathic power to let people know they’re destroying the planet.

Bigfoot Is Really A Troll

trollsWe’re talking the sort that turns into stone in the sunlight and does battle with Jim Varney on Halloween.

Obviously, to accept this theory, you’ve got to believe trolls exist outside of Scandinavian folklore. Once you’ve cleared that minor hurdle, you can turn to the mountains of evidence. First, according to the theory, trolls are 90 percent mental and 10 percent physical, meaning they mostly exist in our imagination. In reality, a troll is more of a “vibration” than an actual being. In fact, it exists partly in our world and partly in another. And since trolls aren’t totally physically here on Earth, they show up quite blurry in Bigfoot photos.

Still not convinced? Well, consider that scientists have never found Bigfoot hair or DNA. Since trolls exist on a different plane, any physical evidence magically vanishes. If you were to find any concrete proof of Bigfoot’s existence, it’d turn into a stone or piece of straw the very next day. Finally, the most compelling piece of evidence is that Bigfoot tracks often disappear into thin air. You could be following a perfectly normal set of Sasquatch prints when, suddenly, they just vanish. That’s because trolls can appear and disappear at whim.

Bigfoot Works For E.T.

ufoAnyone familiar with Bigfoot has probably heard the “Sasquatch Is an Alien” theory. People like Dr. Franklin Ruehl point to stories dating back to 1888 in their attempt to prove Bigfoot is an extraterrestrial who occasionally visits Earth in his UFO. However, some believers take this otherworldly theory even further, claiming Bigfoot is actually an alien servant, doing E.T.’s bidding on Earth.

One of these folks is named Lyle Vann. Quite the colorful character, Mr. Vann has claimed to have seen Bigfoot on at least 31 occasions, and that’s not counting all the times he’s met their outer space overlords. According to Vann, aliens need gold and other precious metals to power their spacecraft. However, Martians are sadly lacking in the muscle department. Since it’s difficult for them to haul all that gold, they have Bigfoot do the heavy lifting instead.

However, there are those who make Mr. Vann sound like Neil deGrasse Tyson. The enigmatic Jesse Denson is one of those fellows. Denson believes Bigfoot is a robot developed by several alien nations over the past several million years. Whenever they visit Earth, aliens slip into their Bigfoot ATVs and start meandering through the forests, controlling their suits manually or through brain power. These suits allow aliens to spy on humans, but they’re also pleasure vehicles, allowing E.T. to unwind from the galactic grind and run around in the forest dressed like a monkey.

Part Human, Part Lemur

1027Look in the mirror. Now imagine a Bigfoot. Notice a resemblance? Sure, but Sasquatch’s forehead is probably a bit bigger than yours, and there’s something strange about those eyes. Now look at a picture of a lemur. Suddenly, everything clicks into place. Bigfoot is definitely a human-lemur crossbreed.

While most of us were unaware of Bigfoot’s heritage, Texas veterinarian Melba Ketchum has known of the creature’s crazy origins for some time. With the help of enthusiasts around the country, Ketchum collected a wide variety of hair, blood, spit and skin. Of course, nobody actually saw where these hair and toenails came from, but when it doubt, blame it on Bigfoot.

After gathering enough evidence, Ketchum ran a DNA analysis on her samples. Much to her surprise, she discovered the mitochondrial DNA was human, but the nuclear DNA belonged to an unknown hominid. Ketchum theorized that around 15,000 years ago, a now-extinct giant lemur mated with a female human. The result was Bigfoot.  Ketchum’s idea didn’t go over too well with the scientific community. As the human DNA in her samples undoubtedly came from actual humans, her study was rejected by every single legitimate science journal. However, it did pop up in a publication called DeNovo—a journal created expressly for her study.

The Bridgewater Triangle Area

bridgewater-triangleAlthough not an ‘official’ Vile Vortex, the inland Bridgewater Triangle is likely one of the world’s most concentrated areas of diverse paranormal reports.

Located just 30 miles south of Boston, this 200-mile square area has the Massachusetts towns of Abington, Freetown and Rehoboth at its angles. The town of Bridgewater is located nearly dead center within the triangle and the area also encompasses six other Massachusetts towns: Raynham, Taunton, Brockton, Mansfield, Norton and Easton.

The Hockomock Swamp

The Hockomock Swamp, a 5000+ acre area lies within the western section of Bridgewater Triangle and is the hub of many paranormal reports. Also the site of an 8,000-year-old Native American burial ground, when archaeologists opened the graves of Grassy Island, the red ochre within the tombs bubbled and then mysteriously disappeared. Photographs taken of the excavation would not develop.

The swamp remains shrouded in superstition. Called, “the place where spirits dwell” by the Wampanoag Tribe of the Native American Algonquian nation, the Wampanoag avoided the Hockomock Swamp and the area remains a place filled with foreboding.

Cryptozoological sightings are numerous and varied in the Bridgewater Triangle. In 1970, reports of a big-foot like, 7-foot tall hairy monster and its footprints instigated both the Bridgewater and Massachusetts State Police canine unit to conduct a search for a bear. However, neither man nor bear was ever found.

In 1978, paranormal researcher Joseph M. DeAndrade claims to have observed another such creature as it slowly walked into the brush of the Hockomock Swamp, about 200 yards from his location. He chronicled his sighting in his 1997 book, Passing Strange: True Tales of New England Hauntings and Horrors.

2009 was a hot year the Bridgewater Triangle for Bigfoot sightings in the vicinity of Freetown, the town that serves as the western angle of the delineated map of this bizarre area. The most interesting of these accounts happened on July 14th of that year, when a young man and his girlfriend spotted a “large brown hair-covered “man” standing up from a crouched position on the side of a two lane highway.”

“My girlfriend and I were riding in my Jeep on Route 140 from New Bedford to Freetown tonight and at about 11:00 my girlfriend saw this large brown hair covered “man” standing up from a crouched position on the side of the two lane highway. She lets out a scream prompting me to look at the creature standing there. He made fluid movements like a man and had an almost ape-like quality. We couldn’t see his face but upon returning to the area we saw the “man” there was nothing. After calling 911 and telling them that someone was running in the median of the highway they told us that they had similar reports of what we saw on the stretch of highway between exit 7 (Braley Rd.) and exit 8 (Chase Rd.) They then told me that they were sending state troopers to investigate.”

Not Sasquatch related but very interesting to watch –

bigfoot-178x300The local Native Americans (the Abenaki) called Bigfoot, Pomoola, long before the white man came to mid-Maine. It is often described as a “large, manlike creature with red fur.”

Summer/Autumn 2013: My brother lives in Medway, Maine and spends a great deal of time in the north Mainewoods. Hunting, fishing and working; he spends a majority of his time in the broad wilderness area around MountKatahdin. He was driving along the Grant Brook Road and saw this… Bigfoot or Pomoola or Sasquatch or… Whatever it is. Unfortunately, he didn’t have his camera so this was only taken with his phone.

He said, “It ran off”  I’m sure it wasn’t a stump but, not exactly sure what it was.  All I know is it looked like bigfoot to me.”

“The first sightings of the 1800’s that were reported and documented in the State of Maine occurred in and around the Mt. Katahdin area, what is now Piscataquis County, Maine and is located north-northwest nearby communities of Millinocket and Moosehead Lake region. The famous Appalachian Trail ends in beautiful Baxter Park at the highest elevation of just over 5200 ft., atop of Mount Katahdin.

The source of these reports came from a book titled “Camping Out” The book was published in 1873 and was authored by C.A. Stevens, published by The John C. Winston Company of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

There are at least 6 stories of encounters with large man-like creatures, which the Indians called “Pomoola.”  It was also known as “Injun Devil.”The book mentions the death of a trapper years before. He had been ripped apart and at the time it was thought to be a mountain lion. Who knows? The point that got the Julian’s attention was the fact that the body had been beaten against a tree trunk. Chris Julian went on to say, “I have heard mention that the book was fiction. I am not sure I agree considering the detail and the year it was written. I have checked many facts and to me these are factual accounts.  The following is a close-up from the still above.

blue-ridge-mountainsThe beautiful, ancient Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, part of the great Appalachian chain, are rich with folk culture, traditional American music and mysterious lore. They may also be home to a species of unclassified ape that may be one of the North American creatures that has collectively been called Bigfoot or Sasquatch. Jimmy Lee, native to the area, heard the stories about this giant ape-man, but never thought he’d meet it – face to face. Yet he did. This is Jimmy Lee’s story…

When I was growing up in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, in a far-off little town that isn’t even big enough to make it on map, we had a legend about some kind of a mountain prowler called the scalawag – a “man” not unlike the Yeti or Bigfoot that would skulk around people’s orchards at night or tear things up. I am one of the very few to have such an experience with this creature.

I was about twelve at the time and I was staying at my uncle’s place with my cousins Leanne and Jordan. My Uncle Bill is what you might refer to as a distiller, not exactly legal, but safe enough in what he was doing to be not so illegal. Alongside his whiskey and moonshine he used to make an apple mash cider, hard stuff called applejack that would knock your boots clean off.

THE FOOTPRINTS

Behind the old country house – and it wascountry – he had a wooded field that led off through a clearing to his apple groves down a hill where he had twenty or so nice big apple trees.

The morning in question while I was staying over, he came in the house and told everyone at the breakfast table that he found huge scalawag (Bigfoot or something) footprints out by the trees. Jordy and I had to go see this. We went out back after breakfast and looked around as Uncle Bill came out, and sure enough in the mud were big man-like footprints.

My Uncle Bill had brought out his Polaroid camera (no digital in those days) and started snapping shots of them. He wanted to get plaster and fill them in making casts, which I think he still has somewhere. He had always heard these legends, but assumed they were bunk.

Jordy and I wondered if we could prove him wrong. We hatched a weird plan to pitch tent out there and see if we could catch the creature.

THE CAMP OUT

Around eight o’clock that night, we had our pup tents set up and had brought along our flashlights, lanterns and whatever else we were going to use.

We were having fun, thoughts of Bigfoot or not, from what I recall. At around eleven or so, as our small campfire began to retire, we finally started to dose off within our tent to the sound of crickets chirping in the summer night.

After about thirty minutes, I heard a weird, teethy whistling. As I took notice, I jabbed Jordan awake. He sat up, and together we heard the cracking of sticks out there in the dark. Someone was walking out there. Could be a deer, maybe, but I doubted it as it came in closer.

I had the flashlight ready as I opened the flap of the tent and looked out. I turned the flashlight with a fumble of my hands as I began to search the surrounding groves, shining the light up on the trees as far as the beam would go out there. I looked back at Jordy, now getting a bit frightened. He was eager to know what I was seeing out there as he could hardly bear himself to look.

THE CREATURE

Suddenly, there was a powerful smell of sewage or something like pungent animal crap as then another set of twigs snapped. My flashlight beamed over to under a tree and there was – and this is no lie – a huge, ape-like mammal crouched down on its big, nasty, hairy legs eating the windfall apples off the ground. It didn’t even seem to take notice of us. “Let’s get out of here, nice and slow,” I said to Jordy.

This thing had red-orangey, sparse, dirty-looking hair all down its thick, oversized back. I told Jordy, “Stay quiet and don’t say a word… or we are dead.”

The creature was munching at the apples grotesquely in his big scooping hands. Then his beady black eyes shot to me fast. Its face was so ugly I can barely put words to it. It had a mashed-in, flat nose, a mouth that was nothing more than a grimacing, thin, crooked crag, human-like ears under its orangey hair and a pointed, hairy head with blank ape-like eyes with sort of a heavy brow ridge above them. It had no hair on its face at all; it was just like thick, orangey, dirty skin with a hint of brown.

Its big, orangey, furry, weird arm quickly came up to block the light from its eyes as then he let out this loud, fowl cry – a wailing, gritting howl. It waved its big arms and mitt-like hands at the light as if to snap it away from his eyes. Jordy and I both shuddered and quaked to the point of near crying as even my flashlight trembled around. The animal quickly lunged around the bottom of the tree and stood up all the way on its two legs and ran – not walked – ran as the mere inhuman size of his weighty body was enough to make any man die in fear at the sight of him. I’m talking probably over 900 pounds of hulking ape-man-thing-who-knows-what.

The monster ran off into the woods in a way that you could only see in a nature film or a primate exhibit at a zoo, but it ran upright like a man and was fast at whatever it was doing.

THE ESCAPE

Jordy was behind me and saw only a little of the thing. I told him that on the count of three, forget the crap at camp, on the count of three with our flashlights only, we make a break for it.

On three we were out of the tent at top speed, bolting and panting and running for dear life in the near dark to the jiggle of our flashlights ahead of us toward the house, scared to the nines that this thing was going to be right on our tails.

I looked up to the house as we came running up through the clearing. I could see a light was on in there as we booked up fast. We bolted to the house, running up the steps lightspeed and getting in the house fast.

I went in, seeing Uncle Bill, as Jordy sped in. We slammed the door behind us and locked it fast. We checked out the windows, scared bad.

Jordy screamed for his dad to get the guns as I tried my best to explain what I saw. Uncle Bill was in no mood to go chase down what I saw out there. I told him everything about what it looked like. All he had were a couple of .22s for deer hunting. This thing required a ten-gauge at least to bring it down. I told him this sucker was big.

THE HOWL

Uncle Bill got the gun anyway, loaded it up and went outside onto the back porch. We all went out there, Jordy and I close behind Uncle Bill with the rifle pointing outward as his flashlight whipped around checking things.

There was a raucous sound, like a wild man, and it was loud! Loud enough to carry an echo through the woods. Uncle Bill just let out a string of his fanciest expletives and went back inside fast, not even daring to step foot out there that night.

By this time, Jordy was going off: “We gotta kill it! We gotta kill it!” Uncle Bill had his gun in his arms, battening down the windows and closing curtains. He turned the porch lights on, from what I can recall, and just sat there a good part of the night, just from hearing that one sound, with the .22 by his chair, in fear.

THE EVIDENCE

The next morning, we went out at the crack of dawn. There they were: huge footprints with huge toes in the mud, lots of them. To our shock, there was also some kind of large animal dung mound. I might have caught him while he was doing his thing (gross as that sounds). There were wet, sloppy chunks of windfallen rotten apples that I guess were bits he dropped or mashed.

The whole day, we were all telling everybody. My aunt was out there looking and couldn’t make any sense of it. Jordy and I were looking out to see where he came from in the woods and we couldn’t quite figure it out.

To this day, occasionally, not often though, they do still hear the sounds out there by his place at night. A whistling or horrible howling. And damned if he goes out to investigate it. That thing is a true-to-life monster of the woods, whatever the local folklore want to call it.

Sasquatch is real. That’s what I call it, and I saw this thing first-hand.

Paranormal.about.com

highwayI had an experience the other night that is leaving me feeling a little crazy and confused. I however know I saw something and heard things I cant explain. After seeing markings on my SUV and reading online I have decided to share the experience with you. Maybe this will confirm my theory and help me feel like I am not insane.

Let me tell you about myself first. I’m 29 going to be 30 this month. I have 3 kids and I’m married to a wonderful down to earth woman. I’m originally from San Diego and moved to the Dayton area about 6 months ago so my wife could be closer to family and we could escape the rat race. I took a job as a mechanic for a mining company in the Elko area. I commute to Crescent Valley on my weeks on and come home on my weekends till we find a house closer to my work. Anyway I make this 4 hour drive about 6 times a month.

About 3 months ago I ran into a rash of car trouble in that area. So far I have had a tire shred on my truck that almost put me on its lid, a radiator blow apart on the same truck, a truck I borrowed lost an alternator there. Then this last time. I left Crescent Valley about 8 pm. I was talking to my wife on the phone when i ran out of gas. I usually make it to nearest gas station. I tried to get help for a few hours to no avail. Police said, “Tough.” and the local tow company would tow me but not bring me a gallon of gas to get into town and people stopping to see whats going on apparently isn’t allowed. They just get over and speed up.

Eventually a NHP officer pulled up and offered me a ride to the gas station, but then he had to leave while we were there so I had to walk back with my gallon of gas. Took about an hour and a half because I was cold due to not having proper attire. I put the gas in and tried to start the SUV. Now I’ve got a DEAD BATTERY. Again no help from law enforcement and the on-call tow operator was TOO LAZY TO GET OUT OF BED AND HELP.

Long story, ended up with my wife and myself just being hung up on. So I figured I’ll have to wait till I get a friend to wake up and come help. I tried to warm up best I could. No jackets, just 2 light blankets in the car and a balaclava from work. Did I mention my drivers window was stuck down? It was now low teens as far as temp. I’m laying in the drivers seat, when I feel the car rock side to side. Nothing had driven by and there were no cars for miles. I sit up and look around. Not a damn thing anywhere. Just dark and cold as hell. I light a cigarette and look around outside. I was just out there trying to flag down cars not 20 minutes before, and I saw nothing around.

No one had driven by in a while so I laid back down. I cruised my phone for a few and felt tired. Its 2:20 am. I’LL NEVER FORGET THAT TIME. I was on my side facing the passenger side. After I focused on the window, passed the glow of my phone, I saw a face in the window. Wasn’t human. Wasn’t a dog. Not anything I’ve ever seen. I could see the glow from the phone on it. I blinked, and it was gone. Shook my head and thought I was hallucinating because I was bordering on hypothermia. About 20 minutes later I wake up not knowing I was asleep and I lying flat. Over the hood, I see a figure. Same face I saw earlier, just darker. Then it was gone.

Wow! “I’m losing it.” I start thinking to myself. I feel very tired at this point, so I lay down again. Facing the drivers door I close my eyes. A few minutes later I have the feeling of a presence and open my eyes. There’s a figure at the open window just inches from my face! I don’t move, but look up and see it is above the car. This is a GMC Envoy SUV. I’m 6’4″ and barely can see over the top. I move, and it slips back behind the door so I cant see. Holy sh*t! I wasn’t hallucinating now. I saw something. I sat up and looked around. Stuck my head out the window. There was nothing there. Wow!

So I light a cigarette and sit up towards the steering wheel. Its so cold, I don’t even know what to compare it to. Still no help either by the way. A few trucks go by. I try too see anything in the headlights. Nothing. Looking at the center divide which is a ditch about 20 yards across., I see a dark mass that moved a little bit. I figured it a deer, or a bush. There are no bushes here though, so it’s not likely I see the only one and swear it just showed up. After seeing that I’m sitting looking out the windshield smoking and I hear a low gurgle talking sound. Never heard anything like it in my life. Almost like the predator was speaking gibberish while gargling. I look. There’s nothing there, and it came from the center divide. THAT WAS NOT EVEN QUESTIONABLE AS A FIGMENT OF THE IMAGINATION. I heard it. Few seconds later I hear it again but its louder and right at the front of the car. I dip my head out the window, and look but again, nothing was there.

Somewhere, I fell asleep again and was awoken by another NHP at 6:32 am who thought I was frozen to death. He helped me get going to fuel up and get home. Everything is fine and I get home OK.

Feeling a little weird from the cold experience but I’m still kicking. Now I can’t get what I saw out of my head. Can’t get what I heard out of my head.

Ronald Smith’s Property, South Weber, Utah, 2013

About 12:20 a.m. Feb. 4 1980, Ronald Smith was arriving home from work. He got out of his truck and walked back to his pasture on South Weber Road and heard something out in the field. What he heard and later saw, he now believes is Bigfoot. “I was going back to feed the horse and he wouldn’t come to the fence. I started out there to feed him and I heard, crunch, crunch, it was something walking on two legs through the snow. Since only the horse is out there, I thought it might have been some kids getting into something”, Smith said. “I looked out there, it was moonlit, and I saw this dark figure walking across the pasture. I thought it was a high school kid trying to get away before I saw him. I didn’t think of how big it was.”

Smith continued, “I saw it walk into some trees. The horse wasn’t scared, but it was acting a little funny and looking over that way. Then I heard the screams. They were unlike anything I’ve ever heard. They sounded like a cougar, but only with a lot of volume. They were just different. I got out of there and into the house”, Smith said.

“My wife was telling me to get a gun or a camera, but it only lasted seconds. It screamed four times when I was outside and three more times after I got inside. I told my wife, ‘I think it’s Bigfoot out there’ and I was sort of kidding, but those screams were unbelievable.”

Smith said if the beast hadn’t screamed, he would have passed off the figure in the moonlight as a “kid in the pasture.” Smith went into the field the next day to look for tracks and said he found marks about six feet apart that looked like it was something with toes, but that the horse had trampled the tracks throughout the night. He also said he thought his horse was “acting funny” for several days and he feels that could have been an indication that the Bigfoot was around [sic] for some time.

Witness Observation

I am about to graduate with a BS in Biology, and want that noted. The incidents began in the fall of 2004. It started out as hearing strange howling sounds in the evening. I never heard the vocalizations in the day time. In the fall of 2004 some friends and I went camping on my driveway. It was the middle of October, and around 2 in the morning I heard a loud grunting sound and trees snapping. The noises were so loud that they woke me up. It was a full moon that night and clear, and when I opened the window on the tent I could not believe what I was seeing. I saw a large dark figure with eyes that seemed to illuminate red in the moonlight.

bigfoot-breaks-necksIt was beating something in the head which I found to be a deer come sun up. The creature drug the deer up to the top of the hill above the camp sight. It walked up on top of some big rocks and I could make it out perfectly. 8 to 10 feet tall and covered in hair. The one friend who stayed the evening saw the exact same thing. I watched it eat the deer. It pulled off appendages like it was nothing. Shortly after it started eating it noticed our tent. It walked right down to the side of the tent, and the smell coming off of it was intensely musky.

It knocked the frying pan out of the tree by the tent as it was walking by, and when it hit the ground, it ran back to the top of the hill. The deer carcass was gone, but hair and intestines were left behind. The liver, spleen, heart and lungs must have been eaten. We followed the drag marks from the carcass and found a mass of pine trees bent and broken into some form of shelter.

ALSO NOTICED: The trees were broke off around 6 ft off the ground in the direction that it ran off. I know what all of the animals in the woods sound like. Coyotes, owls, foxes, anything in the woods. I am not mistaking these howls for coyotes or owls. These howls are very deep, long, and you just know something big is doing it. The first time I ever heard it, and did not know what it was, the hair on the back of my neck stood up. It felt like some deep instinctual acknowledgement of danger.

TIME AND CONDITIONS: First sighting it was clear and cool. It was around 2 in the morning and it was a full moon.

My grandfather told me this story back in 1991, a few years before he passed away… and so it goes.

My grandfather worked from the late 1950s to the early ’70s as a landscaper on the Duke Estate in Somerset, N.J. When he told this story to my sister and me, he was foggy when giving the exact dates, but he was still very sharp and explained it with incredible detail. My grandfather’s job was to manicure and care for the lawns in the north section of the property (whatever that meant) and other various duties. He said that in the summer of 1972, one August afternoon, he was told by the head groundskeeper that he would be working overtime and that he was needed because a shipment was being delivered from Wisconsin. They needed about eight men to unload a crate and to bring it into the garden area.

crate-upThat night, the truck arrived and it was getting late. The men who were asked to stay for overtime were eager to get things done and over with and be on their way. When the truck pulled up, my grandfather said that the crate was about 8 feet tall and 5 feet wide. When he asked what was inside it, the one in charge said they were exotic trees.

What happened next was enough to make half of the team get up and walk off the job and not care about the consequences. When the men started pushing the crate off of the flatbed truck, a blood-curdling scream was unleashed from within the box. All of the men let go of their grip and the crate fell to the floor. As everyone jumped back, realizing that this was anything but a tree, the head keeper did all he could to save the contents’ real identity and said that there was a black bear inside of it.While the men were regaining their composure, most of the help walked off the job. They said they didn’t want to get hurt or mauled dealing with a wild animal without the proper safety equipment, so off they went,  including my grandfather.

Only two men stayed to finish what they were asked. This is what was told to my grandfather. The two remaining men managed to get the load onto a dolly and then drag it into the garden compound. While guiding the crate down the main path, balance was lost and the crate came off the wheels. The crate hit hard enough to crack the side of the crate and loosen the side panel, which fell off and exposed the contents.

What the two remaining men witnessed that night was enough to make them seek employment elsewhere. What I am telling you was how it was told to me. Inside the crate sat a creature that had the shape of a man, but was anything but a man. They couldn’t give a height measurement since the creature was in a sitting position, but they said it was huge. It had the shape of a man with a very large frame, only it was covered with black hair. The “creature” was strapped down and had shackles on his legs and feet and arms. The face didn’t look like a man, but had some human features. The workers said it looked more like a monkey or a gorilla. The hair was extremely long and dirty.
At one point, one of the men said they thought that this “thing” was trying to speak or communicate with words, but all it did was keep on drooling. They were under the impression that this creature was heavily sedated because it couldn’t keep his head up straight; it rested its head on its chest.

easternsasquatch13A couple of inches away from the creature’s head was an empty water bottle nailed to the wall. On the other side of the creature was an IV stand connected to the wall and stuck to its arm. It might have been used to feed this “creature” during its transport. One of the oddest parts to this story was that my grandfather was told that this creature was sitting on a rocking chair! I could never understand this. After thinking about it, though, I think it was maybe to prevent this “thing” from getting cramps during the move. They also said that the odor was overpowering and enough to make anyone pass out — the combined smells of urine, waste and body odor was rank.

My Grandfather stuck by this story until the very end. About two weeks before he passed away, my sister reminded me to bring it up again and confront him, which I did. There was no need to go over the story again because we both knew how it went. I just asked him, “Papa, remember the crate you had to move in Jersey?” He just looked at me, smiled and said, “Of course.” I said, “Did you embellish at all?” He said, “No, there was no reason to. It happened the way I said it happened.” I said, “Because now would be the time to tell me.”

He looked at me and said, “You want to know if I embellished the story. The truth is that I am guilty of the opposite.” There was so much that I left out… the story was just the beginning. Remember something, I worked there for two more years after that. There are things that a young mind should not hear.”

I said, “But I am not a child anymore. I am sure I can handle what it is that you have to say.”

Grandfather said, “Tomorrow I will finish the story. Come back tomorrow.” But there was no tomorrow. Grandfather passed away at 2 a.m. that morning in a New York Hospital.

Morton, Putnam County, Indiana – August 2007
imonacanThe male witness was sitting on his porch around 10:30 PM when he heard something coming from his apple trees; as he listened it sounded like kids climbing in the branches. He hollered and heard what sounded like whoever it was must have jumped from the tree, landing on the ground and walking off.

Not thinking much about it he went inside his home. A little later his dog became quite agitated and started growling and barking while looking out the glass patio sliding door. The man was watching television; he got up to see what his dog was so angry about and he too looked out the patio door.

What he saw was quite remarkable. He saw the silhouette of a black ape looking creature that had what he described as a head sitting on its shoulders with no neck. It appeared to be 7 to 8 foot tall. It stood motionless and stared the man down before it turned around and melted into the darkness. The man who saw it called law enforcement and they contacted me.

There is one thing that I did not find out until I did a follow up interview. When the man heard his dog barking he walked out side and he saw the creature. It was about thirty feet away. When he looked back toward his house, then looked back again, the creature charged. Now it was only about twenty feet away; then it took off.

He saw it again about three nights ago walking the field next to his house and it was moving very quickly. Several of the people in the area have also seen it.

Details of Encounter:

The witness was deer hunting from a “box” stand that was elevated 6 or 8 feet off the ground. The structure was built with two windows which offered a view of a “four-wheeler” trail that lay nearby. The witness was aware of well used game trail that crossed the ATV trail about 75 or 80 yards from his “stand”. Both sides of the ATV trail were bordered by thick brush and vines. He was paying close attention to the area of the game trail crossing. From his position while viewing the game trail crossing, there was a creek to his right, although he could not see the creek because of the high vegetation alongside the ATV trail.

The witness said that as he watched the game trail crossing, be suddenly detected a “rotten egg” smell. He decided the breeze must have changed direction and was carrying the odor from a paper mill located several miles away. A few minutes later, a doe deer came out of the brush from the creek bottoms. The deer was walking at a normal pace. It crossed the vehicle trail and disappeared from his view in the thick vines and brush to his left. About five minutes after seeing the deer, he noticed that the “rotten egg” smell (the witness was aware that what he was smelling was a sulfide odor) suddenly became very strong. As he watched, a large, hair covered, human-like creature stepped out of the brush and momentarily stopped beside the ATV trail. The creature was using the same game trail that the deer had used.

The_Sasquatch_by_allendouglasstudioThe witness was mystified and stunned at what he was seeing. He stated, “The hair on my neck was standing up as I watched the thing standing there. I though for a second it was an upright bear, but I quickly realized it was not a bear or any other animal I had ever seen.”(The witness stated he has hunted bear.) As the creature stood very briefly beside the ATV trail, it never turned to look up or down that trail. Its eyes and attention were fixed on the game trail on the other side of the ATV trail. It then stepped across the ATV trail and followed the game trail (and the doe deer) into the brush.

Although it was already getting dark, the witness stayed in the box stand for another 10 or 15 minutes before getting down and hiking back to camp. He said that he never considered shooting the creature, and gave it plenty of time to leave the area so that he would not encounter it as he walked out. He said that, given the creature’s size and mass, he was not sure one shot would bring it down if it charged him. The witness no longer hunts in that area.

Description of Animal: The witness stated the animal was about eight feet tall. When standing and walking it was on two feet, and its arms were swinging as it moved. He said that its head was somewhat ape-like, and the head and body were covered in brownish-black hair that was two or three inches long, except that it appeared part of the facial area was bare. He said he could not actually see much of the face as his only view was from the side. He said the chin area was covered in beard-like hair that was noticeably longer that the other hair. The creature’s neck was hardly visible.

He said the animal’s upper body was massive and very muscular. When asked specifically, he said he saw no breasts. He then stated that he saw no genitalia either. He said the body was not tapered to the waist, and that the creature appeared to have a somewhat full belly. Its arms appeared to be longer in proportion to its overall height than a human’s. He stated the creature’s legs were also large and muscular, but that they appeared undersize when compared to its upper body’s mass.

The report is dated: Mid-June, 1989 about 8:30 PM, clear sky, sunshine and pleasant temperature. Just south of the small community of Yacolt, Washington. Yacolt lies 21 miles NE of Vancouver, Washington, 26 miles SW of Mt. St. Helens, 7 Miles S of Lake Merwin and the Yale Reservoir [the latter a repeated site of encounters].

Mrs. Brenda G., a young mother, German, recently moved to Washington from the US South, doing dishes; her 15-and-a-half-year old son Nick, a short but muscular and macho kid, doing homework; her 5 year-old son, John, playing outside on the lawn; two dogs, one pony. The father worked away from home at the time of the event. The area contained a two-story home on a country road, surrounded by minimal lawns bordered by deep, steeply rising forest across the road to the west; behind the house abandoned fields, overgrown with brush and wildflowers, mixed with groves of evergreens. Several hundred feet separate neighboring houses.

Brenda, washing the dinner dishes, looking out over her backyard, past the horse corral with its pony and off into the distance, notices that suddenly the horse becomes unruly. She calls to Nick: “Nick, there are some kids out there trying to tease the horse,” and steps out the kitchen back door with a BB-gun in her hands for good measure.

Nick races out past her and some distance down the overgrown meadow along the stand of trees, where he comes abruptly face to face with a Sasquatch standing on the indistinct footpath. Nick comes to such a “screeching halt” that he slides on moist vegetation and sits down on the ground. For reassurance he throws a backward look to his mother who, however, has returned to the house. When he looks back at the Sasquatch, it is already walking with long strides across the brush and wildflower covered meadow, “lifting up his feet more than people do.” As Nick scrambles to get up, a branch snaps and the Sasquatch turns to look at him “with big eyes.”

Nick runs back into the house, tearing the screen door off its hinges in the process, to tell his mother about the creature and to change into boots from his slippery loafers. Then he charges back out, taking a large army bayonet from over the fireplace for protection, with Brenda close behind. Their two dogs have retreated under the house.

sasquatch-drawing-4As he runs down through the same meadow, the Sasquatch is still walking about there, retreats downhill, crosses a small creek and stops on the far bank of the creek under a fir tree to face his pursuers, his entire body bathed in sunlight and visible from head to toe. Nick stops about 30′ away, his mother stands about 15′ behind Nick. This silent tableau holds its place for what seems an extraordinarily long time, perhaps 5 minutes, although Nick’s and Brenda’s estimates, colored by the adrenalin of the encounter, range as high as 20 minutes. Whatever length of time passes, it gives Nick and Brenda the opportunity for detailed inspection of the Sasquatch.

They describe it as being 6′ 6″ tall (as measured against a branch that barely touched the crown of its head), covered with black-gray fur and golden brown patches on its shoulders and chests in it. The head is notable for its pronounced brow ridge and deep set eyes, that are “less open than human eyes” (facing into the sun). It has a wide and stumpy nose, the hairiness under the nose getting thicker, hiding the jaw line. It has impressively wide shoulders (“Man, they were this wide!”, Nick holds his hands far apart in retelling), heavy arms, wide hands with thick fingers and dark brown and rough palms. Its nails have a deep yellow “nicotine-stained” color. Its torso narrows somewhat to the waist, no genitals are visible in the fur, and it has “sort of a small butt for a man”, according to Brenda’s astute assessment. Both observers perceive the creature as a male. Neither of them detected any smell.

In due time Brenda gets the “willies” and anxiously screams to Nick to break it off. Thereupon the Sasquatch screams, takes a step across the creek toward them, while holding its arms out to the side by about 45°, as if to herd them on their way. They run halfway up the hill to the house, when Nick feels compelled to give it one more look. He is rewarded by a repeat of the faintly aggressive display. They continue to the house, Brenda scooping up John from the lawn, who says: “Mommy, there is a big monkey in our backyard.” Brenda climbs up on the low garage roof and watches the Sasquatch walk away. The dogs stay under the house for a safe two hours and will not let themselves be coaxed out, even by having a steak waved at them. The horse has substantial abrasions on its fetlocks from having gotten snagged on a rope in its panic.

Brenda phoned 911, but hung up before the call is answered. After some time she phones back after all and reports the encounter, which is duly noted in the police blotter, but not acted upon. Only an alert reporter from the Vancouver Columbian catches the brief note and looks up the family. This reporter and several Sasquatch investigators canvas the surroundings and neighbors and come up with a few additional items. The reporter brought me some hair to look at, which I did (hair was not Sasquatch).

Two sets of footprints are found, 12″ long and 6″ long, whereupon Brenda puts a roast chicken into a high tree fork, since she wants to see the “baby.” An adjacent unused meadow has a large depressed area of grass in it. A patch of thimble berries is found on the steep hillside to have been stripped of its fruit and leaves, leaving bare canes behind. The adjacent farmer’s cows, which had just been turned loose for the summer into a higher, lush meadow, come rushing back to the barn that night, something the farmer had never observed before. After about a week, little John comments casually: “The little monkey isn’t coming to play anymore.”

Commentary: The circumstances suggest that a young Sasquatch was wandering through the countryside in the company of an older sibling (young male), providing the impetus for the unusual confrontational, protective display.

The narrow waist suggests a young male. Yellow color of nails is probably a function of thick keratin. Dirtiness seems to be the rule for spring sightings.

The wild thimble berry vines were evidently cleaned by sliding the hand along the cane from the ground up.

Despite the apparent lack of smell, dogs, horse and cows reacted without very close encounters.

An effort to attract the Sasquatch by baiting (hibachi glowing for hours in the meadow with hot dogs on it, strategically scattered doughnuts etc.) and viewing the surround during an ensuing night with night vision binoculars proved fruitless.

The final comment by John about playing with the “little monkey” has to be weighed against the exclusive and pervasive Sasquatch talk after the event by the adults, family and visitors alike and, conversely, a Sasquatch was seen above a nearby lumber mill about 4 years earlier. Nick had been sleeping on the screened porch of the house and had heard noises (rustling brush) and “slapping” footsteps on the street during the night. Earlier in the same year, while a Little League baseball game was in progress at the Yacolt ballpark, a Sasquatch stepped out of the forest in full view of the spectators in the bleachers and briefly viewed the game in progress before retreating into the forest. A neighbor and his daughter saw the Sasquatch on an evening after the G.’s sighting, but refused to talk about it to investigators.

A couple of investigators from Seattle arrived and proceeded to establish a camp in the early evening on the steep hillside, where the thimble berry patch had been found.

After several hours, about 11 PM, they came racing down the hillside, dragging their unfolded tent and sleeping bags behind in disarray, got into their VW van and left without further comment, never to be heard from again

This story was told to senior investigator from Oregon Cliff Olson by the Estacada Police Chief’s son Robin as he sat in the dining room doing homework. Young Les told his dad Bob what had happened to him and his friends up the Clackamas River. This all came down some years before the 1967 Patterson Film was taken. It was a time when the Mt Hood National Forest was logging big time, which caused a great deal of Bigfoot activity due to the disturbance.

Les K. was Public Work’s foreman for Estacada, Oregon. This particular Saturday he planned to take his kid fishing on the North Fork of the Clackamas River above Estacada; they loaded up and headed out. He didn’t want to hike up stream to his favorite fishing area so he chose to drive up Ladee Road and hike a trail to the canyon breaks and then down slope to the North Fork and spend the day fishing.

They drove to where they could take a trail to the breaks and headed toward the canyon, they parked about 1/3rd of a mile from the lip of the canyon and then down slope another 1/2 mile or so to the stream. They hiked through the heavy timber almost to the breaks where they saw the timber thinning they knew there were almost there.

GA_bf_manscaleSuddenly a very large male Sasquatch stepped out onto the trail just in front of them and just stood there glaring at them. The appearance of the creature and its huge size sent the kids into hysterics; they had been in the lead on the trail and just that quick they were behind their Dad, screaming and hollering and tugging on his clothes scarred to death. The creature just stood there as Les struggled with himself and his kids to gain some composure and head them back up the trail.

As they were about to head back up the trail to the car the creature started walking toward them adding to their need to vacate the area. The children wouldn’t head out by themselves; instead they just clustered near their Dad slowing their progress on the trail. The Sasquatch advanced on them to the point that Les in his fright and concern using the only tool he had – a 7 ft. fly pole – shaking the tip of the rod in the creature’s chest as he walked backwards up the trail. He continued this until the creature stopped, which was just a few feet from their pickup truck. The creature stood there as they clambered into the truck and left.

Les drove straight home dropped off his kids then drove to the Police Chief’s home to tell him what he had just experienced. Bob W. could tell Les was really rattled and had him sit down. Les was not a drinking man; a complete tea totaler but when Bob W. offered Les a drink to settle his nerves, he took a big one. (Cliff Olson, Oregon)

How to tell a Bigfoot from a man in a monkey-suit
Bottom line: suits can ADD bulk or length, but they can’t subtract. And looking at Patty, scaled down to Bob’s size, her shoulders appear to be much, much lower on her frame than his. Suits can’t do that.

Witness Observation

I was deer hunting 10-12 years ago in late Nov. I was on a deer lease in Red River County. I was sitting on a stool and observed deer scrapes on trees along a creek bed. I was watching for these deer to approach. After I had been sitting there for an hour or so I turned my head and noticed what looked like an 8 or 9-foot tall stump that wasn’t there earlier. It was approximately 120-130 yards away. I raised my deer rifle and looked through the scope at it. Through my 6X scope, I was able to see it as close up as if it were 30 feet away from me. It was looking right at me. It was a large ape-like creature. I kept it in my sight for 15-20 minutes. It never moved. I then heard a snap off to my left. I turned my head to observe where this noise came from. I didn’t see anything. When I turned back to the creature, it was gone! It had been standing in grass that was knee-high to me, about a foot and a half to 2 feet tall. I feel that it couldn’t have moved away in the short period of time my attention was drawn away. I feel that it dropped down in the grass to avoid detection. I feel that the snapping noise was made by another creature to divert my attention from the other one. At this time, I got up and left everything but my rifle and backed out of the area. I had this thing dead to rights in my scope but couldn’t shoot because I did not feel threatened.

Physical Evidence

I didn’t check for any, and I don’t hunt that spot anymore.

Sounds

No sounds were made while observing the creature.

Additional Observations

bigfoot_by_chrisscalf-d5v2t0xAt first glance, I thought it was a tree stump, 8-9 feet tall. Looking through my scope, it appeared to have very thin facial hair. Its head was round-shaped, with no neck- its head looked like it sat directly on its shoulders. The skin on its face looked like old leather. The hair on its head was about 3 inches long and very slicked down looking. The hair on the body was longer and bushier, it looked like a collie’s hair, hanging straight down. The face looked like a mountain gorilla’s, large nostrils facing forward. It was very broad at the shoulders- at least 2 1/2 feet wide. The hair was a reddish-black color. No odors detected while observing the creature. I have smelt it on other occasions. It smelled like a wet dog had crawled into your sleeping bag. Very bad.

Time and Conditions

Various times – Soy bean farms in the area, also a good amount of trees. There is corn planted nearby as well. Mixed forest – loblolly pines, shortleaf and longleaf pines, sweetgum, various oaks (pin, red, etc.), pecan, black walnut.
