Tonight we are having a round table discussion with John who is a retired police officer, Jack who is a current police officer and Ken our insider. We will be discussing a government coverup regarding Sasquatch. This is an interesting discussion because one of the police officers has had direct contact with representatives claiming to be from the Department of the Interior. We will be discussing personal Sasquatch encounters these guys have had, 911 calls they have been out to. Hang on because this is going to be interesting as the night takes a turn. A weekend at Salt Fork State Park, Ohio

IMG_2575Arrived on the morning of August 3rd, 2014

We set up camp (Primitive Campground-Bigfoot Ridge) and proceeded to take a long day hike, which included Hosak’s Cave…pictured below, right. This lasted for several hours, and was uneventful. By the time we got back, a gentlemen was setting up camp in one of the sites at the head or our area.  For anonymity’s sake I will call him Bill. Bill noticed me walking around with my “nose to the ground” and asked if I was finding anything interesting.  Upon further sizing up of each others intent and interests…it came out that we were both interested in the subject of Sasquatch, and were there for that very reason.  Bill had a sighting of two creatures, not even 2 months prior, right behind our campsite.  He had even purchased a set of military grade night vision goggles to try and get a better look if he ever again had the chance.  Bill being easy to talk to, and dedicated to his search, we decided to team up that night and do some investigating.FullSizeRender (2)

Darkness fell, and we waited until about 10pm to make our way to the service road that lies behind our campsite.  We were not tree-knocking, calling, or calling great attention to ourselves.  We decided to sit in the middle of the service road and talk quietly amongst ourselves. It was extremely dark that night and we took turns using the night vision goggles.  We had heard a few shuffles and cracks repeatedly in the brush behind us, could have been anything though…there is much wildlife out there. After about an hour and a half at his location, we decided to make our way to another portion of the service road, maybe, 50 feet from our original location.  Bill says he wants to try something, and pulls out a glow stick and a string…we then take turns swinging this in circles.  This makes for a great little light show…and even has some whirring sounds to go with it.  (yes you can make your Finding Bigfoot jokes now)  But, it got something interested.  We had been at this spot for about 30 minutes, swinging and then listening, swinging and listening. It was about 1am and I had just gotten done with a cycle, when…in the brush directly in front of us, from ground level, came a loud and long, high-pitched, monotone whistle.  I was standing, and immediately went to a crouch. I can tell you, it wasn’t a bird. And it honestly didn’t sound like a person. Truly hard to describe. But, it had lips to purse to make that sound…and it scared me a little.  The guys were also completely wide eyed at this sound.  We sat in silence for a time, but nothing moved. Even after repeated swing cycles, nothing else would accompany that whistle.

We all returned to camp and went to bed.  Before we did however, we set something up on our picnic table. (this was not a gift of any sort, just an experiment)  Something to note…our picnic table was about 15 feet from our tent, and it wasn’t on exactly level ground.  Here is what we set up before turning in for the night.  Three small apples for a base, one apple on top of those, and a small tennis ball to top it off.  I took a before pic in the daytime for demo purposes.  Also note-worthy…except for snapping the pic below, these apples were not set up until after it was completely dark.

On this first night, just before dawn..we awoke to footsteps and shuffling outside our tent, along with the occasional twig snap.  There were no other sounds, or any smells. It was unfortunately much too dark to see what it was, through the air vents of the tent.  This lasted for about 10 minutes, and then dawn came, taking the sounds with it.   Upon exiting the tent, we immediately noticed this:

I’m not saying a Sas that did this, but it was interesting that the top apple was taken, and the ball was placed back where it was, so it couldn’t roll off the table. Was a brave person to come so close in the dark to a stranger’s tent.  But, not impossible by any stretch.

Our second day there, we went on another long, uneventful hike.  Bill had already left, and we had the campsite to ourselves.  Upon searching the grounds around our campsite a bit more, I found what might have been an old track.  Big might, mind you.  It looked much better in person, and I know it could be many things.

We decided to stick around camp that night, since the whistle we heard was so close to our site.  We played some music, and started a fire, but had nothing of interest happen before we turned in. We did however, set the apples up, for the second time.  Once again, we were awakened to the same footsteps, twig breaks and shuffling noises outside our tent.  It was at the exact same time as the previous night.  It lasted just as long, and ended just as it was getting light enough to make out shapes outside the tent.  We exited, and what did we find?  The top apple again was taken, and the ball nestled among the apples to keep it from rolling off the table.  It could have been a person, yes.  But along with that insane whistle we heard, makes it all at least, interesting and note-worthy.

We visited Salt Fork again one month later, stayed in the exact same camp-site and also went in the middle of the night to the site of the whistle…nothing of interest happened that entire weekend. No footsteps or sounds, and our apple set-up remained, untouched as well.

1983, 10:30 P.M.

Witness Observed:

This encounter did not happen to me personally, but was told to me by my sister-in-laws Father in 1983. Mr. XXXXX R. is a person that I consider to be of good character and a solid member of the community. He and I were working together on an Industrial Project in Lower South Carolina at the time of the occurrence. On weekends we would drive to our homes in Upstate South Carolina. One particular weekend the following encounter took place.

bigfootcrossingOn a Friday night in late August of 1983, Mr. R was traveling home to Upstate South Carolina from his job in Georgetown, SC. This particular night it had been raining lightly most of the way and very few cars were on the road. He said he came up behind a slow moving car while driving along Hwy. 97 near Lake Wateree State Park. Although the road is mostly straight in this area, due to ground fog he didn’t pass and decided to take his time and give the car ahead some distance. Suddenly the car ahead without reason that he knew, swerved and went off the edge of the road. He, not sure what was going on and knowing someone could be hurt, immediately stopped his pick-up, grabbed a flashlight and ran to the car. He found two elderly aged women very shaken up, but unhurt. They were excited and asked him if he had seen what had almost hit them. He did not know at first what they were talking about. They explained to him, that as they were driving a deer ran out in front of their car and immediately behind it ran this large black creature that almost ran into their car. That’s when they swerved to miss it.

Mr. R. told them that due to the fog he didn’t see what it was they described. Due to the wet grass they were unable to back their car onto the road, so Mr. R offered to use a rope in his truck to pull them out. As he walked around to the back of his truck, he walked straight into this creature that the women had described. He told me that it was standing no more than 10 to 20 feet from his truck. With his flashlight he could tell it was large built and over six feet tall with dark blackish colored hair. He said it had reddish colored eyes and smelled like rotting meat.

He described, when he told the story, that the smell reminded him of a deer carcass that had been hanging up for a couple days. He froze when he saw this thing, not sure what it was or what it’s intentions were. Immediately, it turned and walked to the edge of the woods, made a grunting sound, then disappeared into the thick pines.

Later he told us that he was quite shaken from this experience. He really isn’t or wasn’t until his encounter, a believer of Bigfoot. When he returned to work on Monday morning he recalled this story to me and asked if I had seen anything strange while passing through that area.(I traveled the same route to go home also) Due to his stature in the community he has never shared this story with more than immediate family, for fear of sounding foolish. I have had no reason to doubt his story over the years and felt it was time to pass this on to the experts who research such events.

Darrington, Washington, in the Cascade Range, 1989

On July 15th of 1989 I had intended to meet my parents near the town of Darrington, Washington for a simple day hike and some later blueberry picking. We were to meet at the corner monument of section 27, T32N, R9E, which lies on the roadway to the Squire Creek Trailhead; a remote location that isn’t the normal haunt of the weekend backpacker. I was there because of my necessity for completion of mining assessment work to two claims, which I held there for several years.

On this particular day I arrived about 10:00 with my son Rolf and his friend David. It was a typical early summer day in the mountains, light fog in the canyons and heavy shadows in the treeline; warm and enjoyable perfect weather for a brisk hike. This would occur later when my father, mother and niece arrived at about 11:30. We took a light lunch break and three of us continued up the hill while the two boys and my mother remained at the cars.

In about ten minutes we had made the first hillside above the road. It brought us about 80 feet up to a large plateau that was somewhat open but not heavily traveled as I had only found this location a short time before. Long enough to have ribboned the trail and investigated the tunnels for dangers. I had also explored the remains of an old mining cabin, collected samples and posted the site in error. My job was to remove the inaccuracies and bring the claim into compliance. This required me to part company at this plateau and venture off the trail about 200 feet. I had told my father and niece to wait at the site and I would return shortly. Ten minutes later I returned and they were gone. I called out and received no reply to my hails. Angered that they had gone ahead I returned to the bush and took a few samples. About 15 minutes later I returned to the trail and questioned where they had gone. Both were emphatic that they had not ventured from the spot but my father seemed preoccupied by voices that he claimed he had heard.

“A garbled, mumbling speech that resemble the sound of dwarfs arguing over a card hand.” I passed it off to the carry of the boy’s voices from below the bank but he insisted otherwise. With that we continued on our way and investigated the tunnels without incident. After about an hour hike to the upper tunnels my father and niece decided to return to the vehicles. Dad would have liked to continue the hike but was worried about the safety of my niece, Tina, so he accompanied her back to the cars. I said my good-bye’s and continued on my way. Onto a trail that I had been on only the week before…..

As I looked around it was difficult to determine exactly what I was seeing. The trail looked like it had been obliterated in some cataclysmic fashion. Huge rocks were out of place, trees broken over and hillside ripped loose. I couldn’t even discern the ribbons I had placed to mark my previous trip. It was as though the hand of God had slapped the hillside and jarred it beyond recognition. I couldn’t even tell if I would be able to regain the trail without rope and pitons to secure my travel. It was devastation, so much so that I abandoned the monument I was carrying so I could use both hands to pull myself up to the trail. I was standing in an area more familiar but equally as unusual. Here I could see the ribbons I had placed but they were laying on trees that were now on the ground. Large conifers were snapped off 3 and 4 feet above the ground like a child breaks stalks of grass. The broken ends and ground covered with an unusual green slime. It was like nothing I had seen before in all my many travels into the wild. It looked like it had been ejected from a toothpaste tube but the interior of the jelly contained strands of very minute vegetable matter. This was impressed in the interior like it came out of 5 separate orifices and it held its position in the mass of gelatin. Overall consistency was like thick tapioca pudding and it gave the simulation of phosphorescence in the dim light of the trail. As you might imagine from my discussion I spent some time trying to decipher the meaning of all of what I was seeing as the site reminded me of the Tunguska blast in Russia or the aftermath of St. Helens. Many of the trees were laying up the hill! A short while later I arrived at the site where I had intended to place the monument. I returned for this and made placement fast as I still had to take samples and return to the vehicles before it got too dark to pick berries. When I completed this task I turn to take a few samples and heard an unusual echo from the surrounding hill. An extended echo that wasn’t mine coming from the hill above me. Now let me tell you. In the time that I have been mining I have had several guns pointed in my face. I had no desire to be shot by some wayward hayseed in the hills so I dropped my supplies and traveled out into a rock slide that went all the way up the hill. A vantage point from which I would surely see the maker of the sound. Well, such was not the case so I cupped my hands to my face and called to the maker of the sound. Moments later the hillside exploded in a blaze of fury.

Falling through the trees I could make out a large black shape and my first impression was that my call had dislodged a large nest or tree limb from above. But as it continued to crash, in a Rambo fashion, I knew I was seeing a living creature; big and black. It had to be a bear, a cub perhaps and I began to look for the mother. As it rolled though I could see arms gripping for a handhold and a creature far bigger than a cub. This had to be a grizzly judging from its size and it was rolling right toward me. Not a good place to be with an injured bear! I saw every form of mauling death in those first few moments and prepared for a quick and painful death at the claws of this thing and then it was over. The behemoth laid on the trail dead…or unconsciously, couldn’t tell. Better yet I couldn’t make out head or tail on what I was seeing. It just looked like a mass of hair. I surveyed my situation in the few moments and decided to walk toward the thing and see if I could get around it and escape. Just then it began to stir and I prepared to die…

I saw first one hand and then another extending from the sides of this thing. Expecting a four-footed stance you can imagine my surprise when it stood straight up like a man and its buttocks was about eye level. I pulled my 22-caliber pistol and tried to fire a round up into the air but I was so rattled that I had forgot the safety and it wouldn’t fire. By now I was so engrossed in the magnificent size of this beast I just stood there and took in all I could. Determined that, if I survived, I had to remember all I was seeing. Its back was absolutely enormous; I marveled at its muscle bundles and definition. The hair was jet-black and about three inches long over most of its body. The hair on its head grew in a large cape about 24 inches long and in long tassels from the edges of its arms and legs. Swishing like a Spaniel dog as it walked. Its face was a ruddy brown with deep set wrinkles under the eyes sockets and eyes as dark as coal. Its nose was short and black with a beard/mustache that grew from the bridge of its nose. Lower the beard resembled some aspects of the Buffalo. I thought it quite odd because I could see various forms of mythological beasts in my own visual description to myself. Later I fired a shot over its right shoulder. It turned and looked at me and then just walked away down the trail like I didn’t matter; a living Goliath. As I stood there I was unsure of what to do. The gun was obviously little protection but I did have explosives down the trail in my rock bag. My thought was get to them and I could easily scare this thing away and make my break for it. As I walked down the trail though I spotted something crouched near my supplies. It was the creature and it was doing something, digging? Well, thinking that this was possibly a method of hiding killed prey I decided to get a closer look and make sure it wasn’t one of my party. But as I got closer it picked up a rock the size of a basketball and beat it on the ground three times. I decided this was bad and began to back up. Now it seemed like I became the hunted and it turned and ran my direction. I turned and ran for all is was worth toward the rock slide and down the hill. The creature crested the hill above me and began a longitudinal traverse of the hillside ripping out everything that stood in its way…

It looked like the scenes of a Tasmanian devil cartoon. This thing destroyed whole trees as it mowed through them, pushing them aside like I would small twigs. Rocks, branches and all forms of debris came my direction as if they were being hit with some beam of anti-gravitational force. It was so surreal that it was shocking and I stopped several times when I could run no further. Surprisingly, when I stopped, it stopped and when I ran, it ran. During the pauses it would make that banging sound again just long enough to enlist a response. I ran to within 300 feet of the road before I decided to give up and then it turned and went back into the forest. As I broke out to the road they tell me I emptied the clip of my gun. Of that I have no memory.

When I returned home I was too distraught to talk to my wife or acknowledge my friend Kevin who was visiting. I just went into the shower and scrubbed until I began to bleed. I then collapsed in the tub and began to sob. Shaking with the adrenaline still coursing through my veins. That night I recounted the story of what I had seen. A curse that led to repeated bizarre nightmares and sleep deprivation. Unusual, terrifying aspects for which I have no explanation. On that note I will leave you to digest my story.

I considered myself to be a very rational man. I have seen bears in the wild and hunted the same. What I saw wasn’t a bear. It seemed to be a living creature that was capable of being hurt.

There has been many questions about bigfoot, is it real? is it all a hoax?
It seems that back in the 70’s the u.s. government kind of confirmed that bigfoot was indeed a real creature. While some will always reject any info I could post or just say it’s all a hoax, this information should be consider and looked at. This is a big post so please take the time to read it and comment.

In July 1975, The Washington Star-News report:
Though conceding that his existence is “hotly disputed,” the Army Corps of Engineers has officially recognized Sasquatch, the elusive and supposed legendary creature of the Pacific Northwest mountains. Also known as Big Foot, Sasquatch is described in the just-published “Washington Environmental Atlas” as standing as tall as 12 feet and weighing as much as half a ton, covered with long hair except for face and hands, and having “a distinctive human-like form.” The atlas, which cost $200,000 to put out, offers a map pin pointing all known reports of Sasquatch sightings, and notes that a sample of reputed Sasquatch hair was analyzed by the FBI and found to belong to no known animal.

The last piece of information, that concerning analysis of hair led to the investigation by Peter Byrne of the Bigfoot Research Project in Mount Hood, Oregon. Byrne wrote to the FBI stating: “Will you kindly, to set the record straight, once and for all, inform us if the FBI has examined hair which might be that of a Bigfoot; when this took place, if it did take place; what the results of the analysis were.”
The FBI replied to Byrne’s request as follows: “Since the publication of the “Washington Environmental Atlas” in 1975, which referred to such examinations, we have received several inquiries similar to yours. However, we have been unable to locate any references to such examinations in our files.”

The FBI did, however, follow-up with a Dr. Steve Rice, who was editor of the Army Atlas. In an official report, the FBI states: “After checking, Dr. Rice was unable to locate his source of the reported FBI hair examination.”
The Army Atlas and other information relative to the FBI was obtained by Jody Cook under the Freedom of Information-Privacy Act. Jody wrote to the FBI and requested all information relative to Bigfoot. He received documentation and it appears there is always a little “mystery” whenever the FBI is involved in anything. Attached to the file sent to Jody Cook was a standard pre-printed “Dear Requester” form. Curiously, a box on this form which states, “See additional information which follows” is checked. At the bottom of the form the following information was manually typed-in:

“Enclosed are previously processed documents which relate to “Big Foot.” The enclosed are the best copies available. Serial 4 is missing from file 95-213013, the file where your release originates. Our effort to locate that document was not successful. It is possible that the number 4 was missed during the original serialization of the file.”

So what was in Serial 4? Will we ever know for sure?
Certainly the FBI would be a little more efficient in their filing procedures to omit this section. We have, however, learned that analysis of hair samples as indicated in The Washington Star-News article definitely took place.
George Clappison did extensive research on this incident and was referred by the FBI to the ex-head of their Hair and Fiber Unit. This person, who now runs his own private laboratory out of his home, was in charge at the time the hair samples were submitted to the FBI.

He told Clappison that the analysis was done after hours on employees’ own time. He further stated that no written reports were prepared on the analysis. In discussing the whole situation with the current head of the FBI Hair and Fiber Unit, Clappison asked if the unit would now consider analyzing other hair samples. The current manager agreed to perform an analysis, however, he informed the unit would not respond in writing on their findings.

Now back to the Washington Atlas :
In the Washington Atlas, it describes Bigfoot as being a very large animal of 8 to 10 feet tall, weighing up to 1000 pounds with feet measuring up to 24 inches long. The width of the footprint is up to 10 inches wide.

More Depts confirm –
Here’s another release –
Dept. of the Interior, Fish and Wildlife Service news release
December 21, 1977 –
Keith Schreiner is Associate Director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The service is the Government agency with responsibil…ity for protecting endangered and threatened species…The key law in preservation of a species is the Endangered Species Act, which pledges the United States to conserve species of plants and animals facing extinction. This broad, complex law protects endangered species from killing, harassment, and other forms of exploitation. The Act prohibits the import and export of, and interstate commerce in, endangered species. American citizens cannot engage in commercial traffic in endangered species between nations, even when the United States is not involved. Scientists wishing to study endangered species are required to have a permit issued by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
Schreiner acknowledged, however, that a good deal of international cooperation would be needed if extremely rare species were found abroad. And finding one on U.S. soil would pose serious problems too.

The key law in preservation of a species is the Endangered Species Act, which pledges the United States to conserve species of plants and animals facing extinction.

But before a creature can receive protection under the Endangered Species Act, a number of actions normally must occur which involve recommendations from the public, scientists, and State and foreign governments where the species exists.
The first of these would he the species’ formal description and naming in a recognized scientific publication. In addition, if it were a U.S. species, the Governor of the State where it was found would be contacted, as would the officials of foreign governments if it were found outside the United States. Only after much information was collected could the Service make a formal determination as to whether the species should be afforded endangered or threatened status.
For the Loch Ness monster, the first step has already been taken. Last year, a highly respected British journal published a description and proposed the name Nessiteras rhombopteryx, meaning “awesome monster of Loch Ness with a diamond-shaped fin.”

Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch, is purported to be an 8-foot, 900-pound humanoid that roams the forest and wilderness areas of the Pacific Northwest. One “eyewitness” described an obviously female Sasquatch as a “tall, long-legged, gorilla-like animal covered with dark hair and endowed with a pendulous pair of breasts.” It, too, has been described in publications and given a scientific name. In fact, so many people were stalking Bigfoot with high-powered rifles and cameras that Skamania County, Washington, is prepared to impose a fine of $10,000 and a 5-year jail term on anyone who kills a Bigfoot. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers even lists Bigfoot as one of the native species in its Environmental Atlas for Washington. This year the Florida and Oregon legislatures also considered bills protecting “Bigfoot” type creatures. A Bureau of Indian Affairs policeman has 18-inch plaster cast footprints of the “McLaughlin monster,” a Bigfoot-type creature he saw last month in South Dakota.
Under U.S. Law, the Secretary of the Interior is empowered to list as threatened or endangered a species for 120 days on an emergency basis. For endangered species in the United States, the Secretary can also designate habitat that is critical to their survival. No Federal agency could then authorize, fund, or carry out any activities which would adversely modify that habitat.
So long-term Federal protection of Nessie or Bigfoot would basically be a matter of following the same regulatory mechanisms already used in protecting whooping cranes and tigers.

So Now the question becomes, Are there any record of the military encountering a bigfoot?  and the answer is yes. Consider the following

Fort Stewart
Savannah, Georgia
In December of 1995, a Sargent known only as “R.B.” was training in a remote area with two other infantry squad leaders and two privates. Their assignment was to reconnoiter another unit located several miles distant. To avoid detection in the growing darkness, the men waded into chest deep swamp water for several hundred yards, guided by a map and compass. After leaving the swamp, Sgt. R. B. noticed that for the next 15 minutes a “shadow” would approach to within twenty-five yards of the team, but just when they expected to catch sight of their unidentified pursuer, it would break off. In an effort to elude whatever was trailing them, Sgt. R.B., another sergeant, and a private halted while the other two men continued. Five minutes later the other soldiers followed, but the mystery creature was not fooled. Sgt. R. B. wrote: “We could hear something or someone following us… (it would) go around us, fade off, and then we would hear it coming again… (it) started weaving in and out of the two groups like a figure-8… it came between the 2 groups, around them, toward us, like it knew exactly where we were even though we couldn’t see it.”
When the reunited team was 400 meters from the opposing unit, they established a patrol base. Sgt. R.B. and another sergeant would reconnoiter their objective, then return in two hours, when a second pair would start out. After covering 200 meters the men heard their nemesis again. They crossed an open area, then fell to the ground watching their rear. After five minutes they heard a “scream roar.” Sgt. R.B. recorded: “This is when it got really weird… a minute later it screamed again and then we heard what sounded like a huge rotten tree falling, and brush breaking. That was the last we heard and the last I wanted to hear.”

A Second Encounter-
The second notable encounter occurred at 2 am. on November 12, 1998, “Barry” was gunner on an armored tracked vehicle that was maneuvering on dirt tank trails in the swampy northeast portion of Fort Stewart. Barry was scanning for simulated targets through a thermal sight while the driver was driving using a night vision device. At one intersection Barry scanned the track and “observed something come out of the vegetation” 50 yards away, entering the brush on the opposite side. It crossed the 15 to 20-foot wide lane in three easy strides. The creature ignored the approaching tank, keeping its head and torso looking straight ahead.
Barry, who had trained with night vision equipment, estimated the creature’s height to be 8-feet tall. He also concluded that this hairy entity was unclothed due to the fact that it:
“Appeared through the thermal sight to be one constant color from head to foot.”
Barry had watched documentaries and read books about Bigfoot as a kid and he immediately thought this was one. Through the Bradley’s internal communications system he reported the sighting, but the spooked commander ordered the driver to “punch it” and the vehicle quickly exited the area.
Barry’s story swiftly spread through the camp, with the soldier taking “some heavy ribbing over seeing Bigfoot.” Later another soldier approached and confided that his father — while stationed at Fort Stewart in the 1960s — had seen an identical UNCLASSIFIED animal in that area.

Other encounters –
There was a more recent report at Ft.Lewis Army base in aug,19,2008. The report was from
Jeffery Fullerton A SFC MIL USA TRADOC USAREC.

FT.Lewis,Washington May 1984

“I was a sergeant of Military Police at the time of the incident, stationed at Ft. Lewis, Washington.

I went to investigate a report of a disturbance within the tree line, near the post stockade. This was early May 1984, approximately 0300-0400 hrs (the bars had closed shortly before the call).

The MPDO heard strange cries from within the forest and wanted it checked out. I went in one direction while the K-9 unit went in another to sweep the area.
We planned to meet up again at an old railroad spur, not too far into the trees. I saw nothing nor heard a sound until the K-9 apparently made contact with something, then I heard five distinct pistol shots, at which point I heard a deep, guttural, growl building into an extremely high pitched howling (I’d never heard anything like that) and the sounds of something large crashing through the thick brush and foliage in the area. (Important to note that I was too young and gung-ho, i.e. stupid, to be scared)!
I was armed with my issue .45 and 12 ga. riot gun and continued to the rendezvous point, hearing nothing further.
At the spur (sort of sunken with high berms), I went up the far side and halted at the edge of a large meadow. The captain was already there at the rendezvous, having not seen anything either. Neither of us knew that the K-9 unit had fled the forest on the trail of the dog. We were about to head back when I caught movement in the adjacent tree line off to my left. I could plainly see a large dark shape
mocking along the southeast edge of the meadow, but still within the tree line. (Mt. Rainier was Southeast of my location and this was the direction of movement.) It appeared to be a bear.

I held my weapon at the ready. When the object turned and came out and into the meadow, it was approximately 35 yards from our position moving from left to right. It did not register at first, as I nearly pulled the trigger, but something didn’t look right. Bears walk on all fours; this bear was clearly walking on two legs.
It was getting on towards morning as false dawn was in evidence. I could see well enough, but not as to clearly make out facial features.

All I can figure is the wind must have shifted for the creature stopped and turned its head and looked directly at me. It turned its whole body and just stood there looking at us, arms by its sides. The creature was not threatening us at all so I lowered my weapon and did not open fire. I remember the head moving slightly from side to side… it did not move closer and neither did we.

We stared at each other for less than 2-3 minutes (maybe less) ultimately it resumed its original direction and walked away looking back once but kept going, disappearing into the opposite tree line.

The animal was covered with short, dark hair, massive arms and shoulders, probably 7 1/2 to 8 feet tall, the neck was not evident, the head bullet-shaped, the face appeared ape-like (though due to poor light conditions I could not see facial features clearly) but I can say that it definitely was not Elvis nor the Pillsbury dough boy. I estimate the weight at close to 500 lbs., (as tracks we found later would attest). I estimated the size by comparison.

My son likes WWF Wrestling and I met Andre the giant and shook his hand. If he is really 7’4″, then this creature was taller yet as I am 6’5” and recall the size difference between Andre the giant wrestler and me. At the time, it was said we were either drunk, crazy or on drugs as I recall the harassment I had to endure.

I can’t imagine a person so bored with life or in need of attention to purposely set himself to look like a fool. I’ll tell you now; no official report was ever made. I valued my army career more than a few moments of limelight.
As I said, I saw an ape-like creature. I never said I saw bigfoot nor had a doughnut with a sasquatch. But I’m 43 now, retired military. I cant prove any of this, all I can tell you is I know what I saw, it no longer matters who believes me or if nobody does.

Back in 1993, I went to Caro, Michigan to the Michigan-Canadian Bigfoot Center, Wayne King’s home. I told him of my incident
and he played an audio cassette of a supposed bigfoot for me.
The scream was exactly as that one I heard so long ago. I must say further, that the creature I saw did not appear to act as though it had recently been shot at.

Oregon Encounter-
Todd Neiss of Oregon was witness to three Bigfoot in 1993 in Oregon while on military duty.
Todd was a  sergeant in Charlie Company (1249th Combat Engineers) and while training on a  mission of Combat Engineering witnessed 3 sasquatch, he said this “In the middle stood, what I assumed to be, the alpha male of the group; as it towered a full head above the two creatures that flanked it. I would estimate it to have stood approximately nine feet high, with the flanking creatures approaching seven feet in height”

There are many more stories about the military and sasquatch running into each other but I’ll stop with the stories for now.

Lets overview a little:
Talked about bigfoot  – Army Corps of Engineers , Dept. of the Interior, Fish and Wildlife Service, FBI , The Washington Star, Washington Atlas .
Military Reports –
Many reports and several coming from the Washington area. Others from Oregon and  Georgia just to name a few.

So in closing it appears that many government agencies, including the military, have already accepted that bigfoot is a real creature.

There are several accepted definitions of the word classic. One widely used definition is “something of enduring interest, quality or style.” Another meaning is “something honored as definitive in its field.” Still another definition is “something noteworthy of its kind and worth remembering.” When it comes to encounters with large, hirsute bipedal animals, the sighting of one William Roe certainly fits the bill as a classic. In fact, to many who follow cryptozoological matters closely, Mr. Roe’s sighting might very well be the most important bigfoot sighting of all time.

In October of 1955, William Roe, a highway worker and experienced outdoorsman was spending time near Tete Jaune Cache, British Columbia. Roe was part of a crew working on a road in the area. Roe found himself with a day off and decided to take a hike and scout out a good area for a future hunt. Roe carried his rifle but was not really looking to take a shot that day. He decided to visit a rugged and isolated area on Mica Mountain where there was an old abandoned mine. Roe had taken a grizzly bear in this area the year before. What happened next is best described by William Roe himself.

Roe CreatureWhat follows is a sworn affidavit filed on August 26, 1957 by Mr. Roe regarding his experience. The affidavit was drawn up by the legal department of the City of Edmonton, Alberta, made up of Allen F. MacDonald, B.A., L.L.B., City Solicitor, H. F. Wilson, B.A., Assistant City Solicitor and R. N. Saunders, Claims Agent. The affidavit was in response to a request from John Green who had asked Mr. Roe if he would agree to make an account of his sighting while under oath.

I, W. Roe of the City of Edmonton, in the province of Alberta make oath and say,
(1) That the exhibit A attached to this, my affidavit, is absolutely true and correct in all details.

Sworn before me in the City of Edmonton, Province of Alberta, this 26th day of August, A.D. 1957.

EXHIBIT A.
Ever since I was a small boy back in the forest of Michigan, I have studied the lives and habits of wild animals. Later, when I supported my family in Northern Alberta by hunting and trapping, I spent many hours just observing the wild things. They fascinated me. But the most incredible experience I ever had with a wild creature occurred near a little town called Tete Jaune Cache, British Columbia, about eighty miles west of Jasper, Alberta.

I had been working on the highway near Tete Jaune Cache for about two years. In October, 1955, I decided to climb five miles up Mica Mountain to an old deserted mine, just for something to do. I came in sight of the mine about three o’clock in the afternoon after an easy climb. I had just come out of a patch of low brush into a clearing when I saw what I thought was a grizzly bear, in the bush on the other side. I had shot a grizzly near that spot the year before. This one was only about 75 yards away, but I didn’t want to shoot it, for I had no way of getting it out. So I sat down on a small rock and watched, my rifle in my hands.

I could see part of the animal’s head and the top of one shoulder. A moment later it raised up and stepped out into the opening. Then I saw it was not a bear.

This, to the best of my recollection, is what the creature looked like and how it acted as it came across the clearing directly toward me. My first impression was of a huge man, about six feet tall, almost three feet wide, and probably weighing somewhere near three hundred pounds. It was covered from head to foot with dark brown silver-tipped hair. But as it came closer I saw by its breasts that it was female.

And yet, its torso was not curved like a female’s. Its broad frame was straight from shoulder to hip. Its arms were much thicker than a man’s arms, and longer, reaching almost to its knees. Its feet were broader proportionately than a man’s, about five inches wide at the front and tapering to much thinner heels. When it walked it placed the heel of its foot down first, and I could see the grey-brown skin or hide on the soles of its feet.

It came to the edge of the bush I was hiding in, within twenty feet of me, and squatted down on its haunches. Reaching out its hands it pulled the branches of bushes toward it and stripped the leaves with its teeth. Its lips curled flexibly around the leaves as it ate. I was close enough to see that its teeth were white and even.

The head was higher at the back than at the front. The nose was broad and flat. The lips and chin protruded farther than its nose. But the hair that covered it, leaving bare only the parts of its face around the mouth, nose and ears, made it resemble an animal as much as a human. None of this hair, even on the back of its head, was longer than an inch, and that on its face was much shorter. Its ears were shaped like a human’s ears. But its eyes were small and black like a bear’s. And its neck also was unhuman. Thicker and shorter than any man’s I had ever seen.

As I watched this creature, I wondered if some movie company was making a film at this place and that what I saw was an actor, made up to look partly human and partly animal. But as I observed it more, I decided it would be impossible to fake such a specimen. Anyway, I learned later there was no such company near that area. Nor, in fact, did anyone live up Mica Mountain, according to the people who lived in Tete Jaune Cache.

Finally the wild thing must have got my scent, for it looked directly at me through an opening in the brush. A look of amazement crossed its face. It looked so comical at the moment I had to grin. Still in a crouched position, it backed up three or four short steps, then straightened up to its full height and started to walk rapidly back the way it had come. For a moment it watched me over its shoulder as it went, not exactly afraid, but as though it wanted no contact with anything strange.

The thought came to me that if I shot it, I would possibly have a specimen of great interest to scientists the world over. I had heard stories of the Sasquatch, the giant hairy Indians that live in the legends of British Columbia Indians, and also many claim, are still in fact alive today. Maybe this was a Sasquatch, I told myself.

I levelled (sic) my rifle. The creature was still walking rapidly away, again turning its head to look in my direction. I lowered the rifle. Although I have called the creature “it”, I felt now that it was a human being and I knew I would never forgive myself if I killed it.

Just as it came to the other patch of brush it threw its head back and made a peculiar noise that seemed to be half laugh and half language, and which I can only describe as a kind of a whinny. Then it walked from the small brush into a stand of lodgepole pine.

I stepped out into the opening and looked across a small ridge just beyond the pine to see if I could see it again. It came out on the ridge a couple of hundred yards away from me, tipped its head back again, and again emitted the only sound I had heard it make, but what this half- laugh, half-language was meant to convey, I do not know. It disappeared then, and I never saw it again.

I wanted to find out if it lived on vegetation entirely or ate meat as well, so I went down and looked for signs. I found it in five different places, and although I examined it thoroughly, could find no hair or shells of bugs or insects. So I believe it was strictly a vegetarian. (TCH note: It was assumed by both John Green and Ivan T. Sanderson that Roe was referring to fecal matter located in the sighting location. In my mind, this is obviously the correct interpretation.)

I found one place where it had slept for a couple of nights under a tree. Now, the nights were cool up the mountain, at this time of year especially, and yet it had not used a fire. I found no sign that it possessed even the simplest of tools. Nor a single companion while in this place.

Whether this was a Sasquatch I do not know. It will always remain a mystery to me, unless another one is found.

I hereby declare the above statement to be in every part true, to the best of my powers of observation and recollection.

Signed William Roe

The sighting of William Roe has, of course, been dissected seven ways to Sunday. Critics most often point to the appearance of the creature’s breasts as reported by Roe and drawn by his daughter at his direction. They point to the fact that no other apes have hair on their breasts. Roe’s description is that the breasts did have hair with the exception of the area immediately surrounding the nipples. It should be pointed out that other primates, including human females, do have hair on their breasts. The hair is typically very thin, downy, short and lighter in color than the hair on the rest of their body but it is there. Some feel that perhaps the hair of the sasquatch remains constant in thickness and color over a higher percentage of its body than does the hair on humans or even other great apes. Why this would be is, of course, subject to speculation. To others, the hair on the breasts is a huge red flag that could indicate a hoax.

The most common criticisms involving the details described by William Roe are actually not criticisms of his sighting at all; rather, they are criticisms leveled directly at Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin and the sasquatch they claim to have captured on film at Bluff Creek in October of 1967. Many who feel that the creature filmed by Patterson that day is nothing more than a man in a suit point to the similarities between Patty, as the Patterson subject came to be known, and the creature described by William Roe. The crowned head, the long arms that nearly reach the knees, the thick torso that does not taper from chest to waist and, yes, the hair covered breasts of the Patterson subject all are reminiscent of the creature described by Roe. Critics feel that it is likely Roger Patterson and any accomplices he might have had modeled their ape suit after the Roe creature. While there is no proof this is what happened (no ape suit has ever been found), it has failed to deter hardcore critics from making this connection.

Of course, there is another possible reason that the Patterson-Gimlin subject and the Roe creature look so similar. Simply, maybe this is what wood apes look like. Entertain the idea for a moment that William Roe, Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin encountered female individuals of the same species. Would it not be expected that they would share a great deal of physical characteristics? A female lion looks very much any other female lion. Are there small individual variations? Yes, but each individual lioness is easily identified as just that. Do sow grizzly bears look like other sow grizzly bears? Yes, and they are easily identifiable as such. Female gorillas? Orangutans? Chimpanzees? It is the same no matter the species. Individuals of the same sex and belonging to the same species look very much alike. In my mind, the fact that the subject filmed by Roger Patterson looks so much like the creature described by William Roe could just as easily be turned around and used by supporters as strong evidence that the footage is genuine.

Another aspect of the Roe encounter that fascinates me is the reaction of the creature once it realized it was being watched. Roe stated, “Finally the wild thing must have got my scent, for it looked directly at me through an opening in the brush. A look of amazement crossed its face. It looked so comical at the moment I had to grin. Still in a crouched position, it backed up three or four short steps, then straightened up to its full height and started to walk rapidly back the way it had come. For a moment it watched me over its shoulder as it went, not exactly afraid, but as though it wanted no contact with anything strange.” I have often wondered how the creature interpreted Roe’s grin. Did Roe show his teeth? In the primate world this is often a signal indicating agitation or aggression. Is this why the creature backed cautiously away? Additionally, the way it retreated is of interest to me. After shuffling backwards three or four steps, the creature began to walk, not run, back toward the tree line. The creature even looked back at Roe over its shoulder as it strode away. William Roe described the retreating behavior as “not exactly afraid, but as though it wanted no contact with anything strange.” Sound familiar? Indeed, this statement could have come right out of the mouth of Roger Patterson or Bob Gimlin as it perfectly describes the retreat of their film subject. Critics of the Patterson-Gimlin footage have pointed to the measured and, seemingly, unafraid manner in which Patty walked away as unnatural behavior for a wild animal. To them, this is another red flag. Again, I feel the similarity of the Roe creature’s retreat to that of the Patterson-Gimlin subject could just as easily be used to bolster the claims of the two men that what they filmed that day was genuine.

The physical description given by William Roe of the creature he observed back in 1955 is one that has held up and been repeated time and time again by alleged sasquatch witnesses all over North America. The crowned head, thick non-tapering torso, incredibly broad shoulders, abnormally long arm proportions, wide feet and more continue to be described by witnesses today. Most of these people have never heard of William Roe. These similarities, reported over many decades, would seem to indicate that people are seeing real flesh and blood animals that belong to the same species.

To my knowledge the credibility of William Roe has never really been criticized. I have never read anything that would lead me to believe he might have been some sort of charlatan or hoaxer. Remember, this all took place almost three full years before the term bigfoot was used in a newspaper article describing prints found by Jerry Crew in Northern California and twelve years before the Patterson-Gimlin footage became an international lightning rod. Roe did some interviews regarding his sighting but later took the additional step of having a sworn affidavit drawn up detailing his experience for John Green. He simply did not have to do this. This, in my opinion, is not the sort of action a hoaxer would take.

It is my opinion that William Roe had the remarkable good fortune of observing a wood ape that October day back in 1955. It is also my opinion that people do not continue to tailor their descriptions of these animals today to fit some sort of template created by William Roe years ago; rather, the reason the description of the physical appearance of these animals given by so many matches that given by Roe years ago is simply due to the fact that this is what these animals look like. Obviously, I cannot prove it but I have always felt that the Roe account had the ring of truth to it.

Until discovery day truly arrives, that is about as much as we can hope for.

Joe was a German shepherd that my grandfather was trying to train to be a hunter, but he was too wild at times and would often tear after the prey before my grandfather gave the ok, and would ignore being called back. That all changed one night, however.

It was a damp and bitter November night around 1972. My grandfather was hunting deer late into the evening and he had brought Joe and his other dog, Sampson, along. They were deep into a pine wood when Sampson began whining and cowering. My grandfather noticed this strange behavior, but Joe seemed fine, so they continued on.

About five minutes later, a putrid stench seemed to fill the air. He described it as like human waste, a rotting carcass, and garbage all rolled into one. That’s when Joe began to react. He flattened back his ears and growled at something back in the darkness. Sampson, too, began to growl.

My grandfather had his spotlight with him and he shined it in the direction the dogs were barking. The next thing he saw gave him the chills. Two gleaming red eyes reflected back at him from an enormous black shadow about 40 yards away. He recalled the shadow being at least 8 feet tall. And he was certain that whatever this beast was, it was what was giving off the horrible odor.

My grandfather immediately grabbed hold of Sampson’s collar, but he wasn’t quick enough to grab Joe’s and the dog tore after the creature. The beast backed away slowly and retreated into the blackness, seemingly unalarmed. Fearful for Joe’s safety, my grandfather strained his ears. He listened to Joe’s barks and howls for some time when they began to fade and my grandfather turned to leave. He feared the worst, but did not want to be in those creepy woods with a strange creature on the loose anymore.

When he arrived home, he told the family what happened with Joe and the creature. Although he thought it a crazy story, with his family’s urges, he made a report about the creature to the police.

The next day, they were in for a shock when his son, Paul (my uncle), came home carrying Joe in his arms. He said he saw Joe on the side of the road when he was driving into town. He thought Joe was dead at first, since he was just lying there, but he wasn’t, just very, very frightened. Joe continued to cower and walk around with his tail between his legs, fearful of everything and anything.

The family was stumped. What kind of creature could possibly scare a youthful and hyperactive young dog to the point in which it was terrified of everything? In relation to this, apparently my grandfather wasn’t the only witness to this creature. Nine other reports were made to the police about it.

I would like to tell you something about where I grew up in Northern Oklahoma on a farm in the 1960s and ’70s. The location is somewhere west of Interstate I-35 in the northernmost part of Oklahoma. It was a very wooded area.

My uncle, who had lived in the area all his life, told a story about how when he was about eight or ten years old, he was going out to the outhouse one cold winter night (they didn’t have indoor plumbing in the old house yet) and said that as he tried to open the outhouse door, there was something inside it, preventing it from opening. My uncle said he was sleepy and cold and just wanted to do his business and be done with it and get back into the warm house, so he pushed his way into the outhouse with a bit of force. He was suddenly confronted by running right into a huge, stinking, hairy creature.

He first told me this story before I was aware of Bigfoot, and I don’t think he was ever aware of such things. I don’t recall the Patterson footage being general knowledge around there at the time, and I was curious about all things weird and wonderful and read up on the paranormal as often as I could.

Yearling out house (26)Anyway, what he described back then now today seems like a pretty average description of a Bigfoot creature. He said he just bumbled face-first right into this wall of stinking fur (said it “smelled like a dead pig”) in the mostly dark outhouse and not knowing what was going on (there aren’t any bears around there) he looked up and saw a huge wide-eyed “monster face” staring back at him. My uncle let out a terrified scream (as you naturally would, being a kid in such circumstances) and said that the “thing” screamed back at him at the same time, seemingly equally frightened, and then it shoved him out of the way onto the ground and stepped over him and started running away across a nearby pig pen toward the woods and the river beyond.

My uncle says he was sat there on his butt on the ground screaming in fear and watching this big ape-like thing running away. It was a sort of comedy story when you envision a little kid and a Bigfoot frightening the bejesus out of each other in an outhouse, and I always loved that story and sometimes asked my uncle to tell it again because he’d be so animated when he did.

He said he ran back into the house screaming about “monsters” and woke everybody up. My grandmother confirmed this with a grin when she was still alive, and the whole family remembered the incident well. My uncle absolutely swore this was a true story, and years later, after learning about Bigfoot, it gave the story more credence to me. My uncle died many years ago, but his wonderful comic/horror story is still fresh in my mind because of the way he told it with wide eyes and an excited voice, even when he was an adult, and his absolute insistence that it was true.

Some years later, I had two Bigfoot encounters myself near there, but I won’t go into that here, as this is getting a bit long, but I will tell you of them at another time.

In mid July 2004 I was on my back porch it faces east and it faces a mountain I live in the woods on the side of my house where the creature was the house is scarcely wooded and the land is flat. The sun was shining. The reason I went out side is this, my dogs started to bark and run through the house they got half way through the dog door stopped an whined. I thought that was odd so I went and sat on the back porch. Then I saw the tree to my left move and the tree was about 300 yards away from me or less I am bad with measurements. So I watched the tree to see what caught my eye and then I saw the creature. It was behind the tree looking out from behind it. It’s head was in the branches and it was hunching. It’s head was large and it had a definite brow I thought I was seeing an orangutang. Except it was about 6 and a half feet tall. It was moving it’s head around the tree to watch me as I stood up to get a better look. It’s hair was a rust color like to color of dead pine needles, It’s eyes were haunting. And it was completely silent. It was watching me while I was watching it. I sat back down. I watched outside for about 6 minutes and didn’t tell the person on the phone.
Then I went in the house and watched through the window to make sure it wasn’t a trick of shadow. Then the creature moved in front of the tree, staying hunched over but watching me in the window. I watched a few more minutes and then went to the back of the house when I went back it was gone. While this was going on my kids were in the front yard playing in the water. I think if the creature had been aggressive it would have made some sort of move but it did seem peaceful. It seemed to be curious I think it was young to be in such a vulnerable open area.
When my husband came home we went out to the tree and all of the knapweed was completely trampled down around the tree. We didn’t find any hair though. I have never seen the creature again.

PORT ANGELES, Wash. (AP) – Teams in Olympic National Park have expanded their search for a missing 60-year-old hiker.

Park spokeswoman Jacilee Wray says nearly two dozen people on Saturday finished a grid search around the area where Jim Griffin’s pack was found.

On Sunday, seven searchers are going further out from the trail near creeks and down steep slopes. Wray says searchers are looking in places where Griffin may have ended up if he got confused or lost during his hike.

Griffin hasn’t been seen since he went for a hike Monday on the Olympic Hot Springs Trail. His friends reported him missing Wednesday night after he failed to show up at a Christmas Eve dinner.

Monsters Underground host, Bill Brock has been in hot pursuit of a report out of Turner Maine. What Brock didn’t expect was to see when he got to the property was actual footage of something walking around a property. While the footage is not as clear as we would like, it’s obvious that the subject in the footage is a biped. In one cellphone video, the witness captured what appears to be a bipedal creature lurking in the trees. Watch the video for Bill’s reaction and the sincerity of the witness.

download (14)After several weeks where dogs went missing, trash bins ransacked, and other strange happenings in Kabetogama, John Simon declared that the township had been invaded by a Sasquatch. As evidence he produced several plaster casts of large apelike foot impressions, a tangle of brownish yellow hair, and photographs of powerful claw marks.

When Simon packed up enough camping supplies to last him several months, announced he was off to track the Sasquatch, no one paid much attention either. Simon was gone over six months before his friends and relations started to worry. A search party was organized. They scoured the State Forest for months. The State Police even got involved for a few weeks, organizing hundreds of volunteers but no trace was ever found of John Simon but people did notice the strange doings stopped just after he left to hunt the Bigfoot.
