As reported by the Mount St. Helens Area VALLEY BUGLER newspaper
December 2002

A thick, low mist covered the valley, with not a hint of a breeze rustling the dry leaves.
The stillness and silence was rather eerie, the birds weren’t even singing. Hanging from the
low branches of the Douglas fir trees were dew-covered spider webs. But the spiders weren’t
there. It was as if all wildlife were in hiding.

This fall has been an awesome spectacle of beauty. Bright blue skies, with the leaves
turning rather late in the season, fall this year has been one of warm weather and delightful
views. Bright oranges, deep yellows and the evergreens have decorated the hillsides, with
the early mornings featuring the low misty fog.

It was on this one special patchy fog type of morning that the stillness set in. It wasn’t as if
the stillness were a weather event, it was more that something different was about to happen.

That was when the cows in the distant pastures started in their odd mooing. Normally with a
quiet, still morning, the cows can be heard in the distance with their normal noise. This
morning they let out a mournful cry that was different. Very different.

Walking outside, we thought maybe it was coyotes again. Those wiley creatures often make
local animals act a little strange. But never have they made the cattle give off such a sound.
Listening, there were no coyote sounds.

Thinking again that maybe it was a bear or a cougar. We had spotted one cougar in our
yard a couple of years ago. At dusk, as we drove down our west driveway that winds through
the trees, out lights picked up a pair of glowing eyes. We stopped, hit the brights, and there
in the glow was a small, young golden cougar looking at us. We watched a bit, and it turned
and headed south out of our property to the woods. We’ve never seen it again, but the
cattle had made some strange sounds that night also.

As we were pondering what could be causing the cattle to make such a strange sound, we
picked up a whiff of an awful smell. Like the smell of rotten meat crossed with the aroma of
terrible body odor.

We looked around our little three acres but saw nothing. Making sure the dogs were locked
into the yard, we went about our morning duties.

deep2About noon we wandered outside and were again greeted with the strange smell. With the
sun high, we decided to walk around a bit and see if we could find what was giving off this
terrible aroma. On the west side is a section of tall grass and blackberry vines, with apple
and plum trees on the edge. All of the fruit was ripe and ready to pick. Suddenly we
something move by the apple trees. Something big, and hairy. Peeking out from our vantage
point by the shed, we saw something that made our blood run ice cold. About eight feet tall,
brown and big, it definitely was not a bear. It was much more human, but not human.

We sneaked a bit closer by the hill that surrounds the pool. Peaking out from the ridge,
whatever it was, spotted us. It let out with an awful scream and took off towards the woods to
the south. I ran in to get a camera while my husband kept an eye on whatever it was.

As I came out running short of breath, he stood by the shed pointing at the tall grass to the
south, just before the tree line where the creature now ran. I focused the camera, and hit a
couple of shots while the creature made its way away from us. The speed with which he ran
was astounding for such a big creature. His lumbering feet were pounding the ground while
his arms swung in rhythmic sequence to the run. He was soon out of range for my zoom,
making any more photography impossible, unless I wanted to follow. I didn’t.

What it was, I’ll leave for you all to decide. One thing for sure, I’ll not be wandering around in
the woods by myself any more. Especially if I smell something like I did this fall morning !

Inside the Oct. 8, 1886, pages of The Industrial Journal of Bangor is the story of a 10-foot-tall “wild man” with 7-foot arms and hair all over his body. The historic newspaper was discovered by Bangor resident Donald Ricker, who dabbles in antiques. He found the periodical inside a leather case protecting a piece of thick black glass. The original article about the “wild man” was reported by the Waterville Sentinel.

Youtuber writes “Sean Hannity reports on the theory of the dogman. It reportly lives in Wisconsin and Michigan”

In Wisconsin, sightings of creatures reported as “werewolves” date back to the mid-1930s, first from Jefferson County. In the 1980s, similar reports sprang from Walworth County, the next county south—mostly from around the small town of Elkhorn, near a lane called Bray Road.

A rash of sightings during the 1980s and 90s prompted a newspaper to assign coverage to reporter Linda Godfrey. It was she who initially coined the name “Beast of Bray Road.”

10896832_328284437369203_3174940755498560840_nLumberjacks Ezra Stretchan and Jack Fischer returned to their cabin at Happy Jack camp. They were getting ready for dinner, Stretchan was outside smoking a cigarette when he called for Fischer to come outside as quickly as possible.

The annoyed Fischer stuck his head out of the cabin door to see what Stretchan was so riled up about. Fischer saw one of the largest black bears he ever laid on upon running full tilt down the side of the hill.

Just as Stretchan was about to speculate on what scared that bear off, the two loggers saw a “huge, red gorilla-like giant crash through the cedars.” The monster was over 15 feet tall, with powerful rippling muscles and feet that defied all science.

The two loggers stood petrified as the creature lumbered down the side of the hill, growling and grunting as it slowly chased after the running bear.

While neither Stretchan nor Fischer talked about what they saw until years later, Fischer admitted that the two went out and bought shotguns to keep in their cabin with their next paychecks.

A look at the subject filmed by a small group of horseback riders Dec 1st 2012.

Two Young Vermont Hunters Terribly Scared

1POWNAL, Vermont, Oct. 17 – Much excitement prevails among the sportsmen of this vicinity over the story that a wild man was seen on Friday by two young men while hunting in the mountains south of Williamstown. The young men describe the creature as being about five feet high, resembling a man in form and movement, but covered all over with bright red hair, and having a long straggling beard, and with very wild eyes. When first seen, the creature sprang from behind a rocky cliff and started for the woods near by. When mistaking it for a bear or other wild animal, one of the men fired, and, it is thought, wounded it, for with fierce cries of pain and rage, it turned on its assailants, driving them before it at high speed. They lost their guns and ammunition in their flight and dared not return for fear of encountering the strange being.

There is an old story, told many years ago, of a strange animal frequently seen along the range of the Green Mountains resembling a man in appearance, but so wild that no one could approach it near enough to tell what it was or where it dwells. From time to time, hunting parties, in the early days of the town, used to go out in pursuit of it, but of late years no trace of it has been seen, and this story, told by young men who claim to have seen it, revives again the old story of the wildman of the mountains. There is talk of making up a party to go in search of the creature.

YEAR: 2013

SEASON: Summer

MONTH: July

STATE: Wisconsin

COUNTY: Price County

NEAREST TOWN: Phillips

NEAREST ROAD: E Wilson Flowage Rd

OBSERVED: I was on my way from my house in Stevens Point, Wisconsin to Hayward, WI for a fishing tournament on the Chippewa Flowage. My team partner and I left Stevens point at 3 AM in the morning on Friday, July 12 to practice for the tournament on the following Saturday. The route that I take goes through Phillips, WI. However, I have a shortcut that takes me around the town of Phillips. Specifically, I turn west onto Dama Rd. off of HWY 13. I then take Dama to Mink Ranch Rd. and turn right heading north. I then take another right onto E Wilson Flowage Rd. It is at this point when we saw what we believe may have been a Sasquatch. It was roughly 5:15 AM when I turned onto E Wilson Flowage Rd. When we turned about 70 yards in front of us in the middle of the road was a big black animal that had its rear end facing us. At that point it we startled it and it took a quick look at us and ran into the woods. That’s when we both thought we had just seen a gorilla. It was easily six ft tall and when it ran into the woods we could tell that the creature had a 45 degree angled back from head to rear end. Not at all like a bear. Additionally, it ran into the woods using its front two arms like an ape. Using its knuckles like an ape. We continued on with our trip questioning what we saw. I just happened to Google Sasquatch in Wisconsin and saw that Phillips is a hot bed for activity. So I had to make a report.

OTHER WITNESSES: Yes, my friend. We were both watching straight ahead making sure not to hit a deer

TIME AND CONDITIONS: 5:15 AM. Very clear and light out.

ENVIRONMENT: Heavily wooded

Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Bob Barhite:

I spoke with Matt on 8/8/2013. He vividly recalled the incident. When they came to the intersection of Mink Ranch Rd. and East Wilson Flowage Rd. they saw a tall, black creature crouching in the middle of the road about seventy yards ahead. Immediately both witnesses exclaimed, “Bear!”

The creature had its back to them, and when it heard the vehicle it turned its head and right shoulder towards them, paused for a second, and then ran, on its back legs only, very quickly off into the woods. Its back was angled forward from its waist at about 45 degrees, and it didn’t use its arms for locomotion; rather it appeared the arms were used only for balance, and its palms were turned outward. There was no natural neckline, and the head was shaped like a gorilla and appeared to be sitting directly upon its shoulders – “…like a football player on steroids.” And its upper torso was extremely thick and broad.

Both witnesses observed that it ran into the woods with ease, and not like a circus bear. They slowly drove past the spot where it ran into the woods, but it had disappeared. Neither one said anything for a couple of minutes.

Price County is located in the far northern part of Wisconsin, and has a total area of 1,278 square miles (3,310 km2), of which 1,253 square miles (3,250 km2) is land and 26 square miles (67 km2) (2.02%) is water. The highest natural point in Wisconsin, Timms Hill at 1,951 feet (595 m), is located in Price County. The Chequamegon National Forest is partially located in Price County.

Bigfoot Sighting Report #75
Town: Montague
County: Sussex
Type of Encounter: Medium Range
Sighted on Nov 15, 2006 5:00pm
Nearest Road: Deckertown Tpk
Weather Conditions: overcast

Sighting Details:

It was the 2nd week of the muzzle loader hunt @ high point state park, I went for the the afternoon post, and took a large deer @ 4:35 pm, I took care of dressing it quickly, so as to start getting it out as quickly as possible, since i was in quite a ways from the truck.

I was struggling with it, due to it’s unusually large size, when I took a break, looking up, I saw what I thought was another hunter on his way to the trail head that leads out to deckertown tpk, thinking I could maybe get him to help drag for a few $$$, I called out, the “guy” stopped and turned, that’s when I noticed it wasn’t a hunter, and saw the 2 red eyes, they were about 1″-2″ apart or so, and what I estimated to be between 7-8 feet above the ground @ 65-70 yds, the terrain was open hard woods so I had a clear view, between me and it.

It didn’t register at 1st and the ‘thing turned and continued on it’s way, I called again, again it stopped and looked at me.

I didn’t feel at all threatened. I had lived in Sussex county for 9 years prior, and never even heard of such a thing being sighted until a day before typing this, I have hunted northern NJ since 1979, and I’m familiar with pretty much all wildlife, but this was something I have never seen before, it walked upright, had eyes I estimate to be the size of quarters, and they glowed with the color red, it continued on it’s way up over the rise towards new road, and that’s my story.

I think I actually, had the good fortune to see something unusual and rare.
I did speak to the park rangers by phone, a few months after the sighting, they seemed more willing to admit to mountain lions being sighted, but not this red eye’d thing… I don’t blame them, I’m sure it sounds crazy, but I know what I saw, I guess I just wanted some validation, from the rangers who as I now understand are aware of the red eye’d creature, and have been for years.

Tonight we speak to Dan who has seen Sasquatch once and has a lot of strange things going on and around his property. We also discuss the Ruby Creek incident. Mrs. Chapman along with her children had a frightening encounter with a Sasquatch that broke into their home. What is interesting about this case is the amount of evidence collected from the scene

We have a great show tonight for our members. We will be speaking to Dan from KY who has a lot of activity going on his property. Also we will be reviewing the Ruby Creek incident! Stay tuned!

For two days in late October, 2013, an unseen vocalizer made loud moaning howls, whoops and wood knocks in the hills near Bruno, West Virginia. A local resident managed to capture four clips of that vocalizer with their cell phone, and those clips were quickly shared with the BFRO. This video spectrogram is an illustrated playback of the vocals captured in those clips. They are fairly to exceptionally clear, but head phones are recommended to achieve the best possible listening experience.

This happened to two friends and mine in August, 2007, twenty miles northeast of Highway 17, near the town of Iron Bridge, Ontario. It would probably help to describe the property that we were on. It is a 750-acre parcel with a forty-foot-wide river running through it. Extending out from this river at both sides are dense marshlands. There is a set of power lines that run through the property, commonly referred to as the “hydro-lines”, and there is a trail that runs underneath them, occasionally jutting out to either side.

The property has a wide variety of animals, including deer, bear, moose and a few ground squirrels. I haven’t had much time to actually check out all of this property for two reasons: the property is too immense to be fully covered, and the property has only been owned by my family for the last two years. That contributes to why I found it alarming to have a strange experience on only my third visit to the property.

THE ARRIVAL

On a Friday morning at 2 a.m., I picked up my two friends, Adam and Joe, and headed up I-75 toward the Canadian border in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. We arrived at the property around three in the afternoon. We dropped the trailer off at the cabin and unloaded the car quickly. I handed my friends the set of keys to the cabin so that I could head back into Iron Bridge before nightfall to get some beer while they unpacked everything.

That evening passed uneventfully. We enjoyed the beautiful views from the hill on which the cabin rests, built a fire, listened to my friend jam out on his guitar, and basically got drunk and swapped stories.

We woke up around eight in the morning and loaded up my Yamaha Rhino ATV, which basically looks like a golf-cart on steroids. We packed all of our fishing gear into the bed, leaving just enough room for my heavier friend to sit down comfortably. After firing the engine and putting it into gear, on a whim I decided to grab my 12-gauge rifle from the cabin. My friend Adam asked me if I was planning on fishing with it, to which I replied with a smile, “No. Wildlife protection.”

After a forty-five minute drive down one-lane trails, between huge stone formations and across dry riverbeds that still threatened to get the vehicle stuck, we finally arrived at a massive lake that my dad had found during his recent visit. We parked the Rhino, took the keys out, unloaded our gear and grabbed the shotgun, as I didn’t want any passerby stealing my weapon, even though there is absolutely no one near that city unless it’s winter and they’re on a snowmobile.

After fishing for the entire day and cooking our catch around lunch-time right on the shore, we noticed that the shadows were starting to come out and that we would only have another hour of daylight left. My friend Adam insisted that this was the best time to be fishing, so I let him do his thing while Joe and I loaded our gear into the back of the Rhino.

As I was securing my rods with a bungee cord, Joe poked me in the side and pointed at a ridge off to our right. “Do you think it’s a bear?” he asked.

FIRST SIGHTING

Unfortunately, I didn’t bring my binoculars with me, so I wasn’t able to get a great look at it, but it looked to me like a bear, most likely attracted to our delicious lunch that we had cooked a few hours earlier. It looked to stand about two-feet tall, black in color and relatively-wide shouldered. I then watched it drop below the ridge and shrugged it off.

When I told Adam about this, he quickly decided that it would be in his best interest to wrap up his fishing before this “bear” decided to get a closer look at us to see if we had cooked a fish for it as well. I also loaded my shotgun. We started the Rhino, loaded Adam’s gear and everyone piled in. I tucked the shotgun between Joe and the gear in the back of the Rhino and told him to keep it handy, because if it was a female bear with cubs, this could get ugly.

Joe later tells me that he noticed shadowy movement in the brush just behind where we were fishing as we were pulling away.

After heading down the trail for only a few-hundred yards, my friend Adam, who was sitting in the passenger seat, put his arm across my chest and instructed me, quite harshly, to stop. He then took the flashlight out of the glove-box and shined it off to our right saying that he noticed something moving quite quickly behind the tree line. I then shouted, “Then why did you tell me to stop!?” and promptly jammed the accelerator while telling Joe to hang onto the roll bar because I didn’t plan on driving leisurely back to the cabin.

STUCK

I took the Rhino all the way up to its governor at 40mph while we were passing between two large rock formations. Usually, wildlife doesn’t spook me, but having my friend tell me that he’d seen something moving quickly alongside us, I was starting to doubt that it was a bear. No bear will chase you when you’re driving a loud, half-ton vehicle loaded with supplies with its headlights and taillights on. This was confirmed after I took a turn around a blind corner too fast. I had forgotten that a heavily-rutted, muddy area was on the other side of the turn and the Rhino fishtailed slightly, luckily didn’t roll and stuck its rear end deeply in the mud. I put it in four-wheel, hit the accelerator and it didn’t move.

At this point, my friend Adam was shouting every curse word in the book, telling me that I’d gotten us stuck and that we were going to get eaten by a bear. I locked all the axles and still was unable to get it to budge, I knew we were going to have to winch it out. I jumped out of the Rhino without opening the door, instructed Adam to get the winch ready and grabbed the shotgun out of the back. Joe looked at me wide-eyed, asking me what the hurry was. I didn’t answer his question and told him to help Adam with the winch controls while I covered them with the shotgun.

Meanwhile, I didn’t notice anything moving around us, but it was pitch black and the engine was running on the Rhino, which would cover up the noise of any creature’s approach. “How’s the winch coming?” I yelled.

“We’ve got it hooked,” Joe yelled back to me. “Just need to get it moving. How’s it looking on your end?”

“Zero movement!” I yelled. Joe tightened the winch and the Rhino slowly pulled itself out of the hole that I had dug it into and back onto semi-solid ground.

That’s when I noticed it in the Rhino’s headlights.

THE CREATURE WATCHES

It stood about four-feet tall, was solid black and looked remarkably like a small person in a monkey suit. Its eyes did not produce any eyeshine in the headlights, and it didn’t move, but I could tell it was looking right at us. I took five steps forward, pumped a round into the chamber, which definitely got my friend’s attention, and ordered them to hurry up, in not the nicest words. Joe, who was working the winch controls had seen it in the headlights and yelled, “Holy ____! What the ____ is that? Is it a bear?”

The creature then squatted down low to the ground and began to rock side to side. This frightened me, as this is the first time I had seen it move and I interpreted that rocking motion as it letting us know that it knows that we see it. It wanted us to move again. I’ve noticed this before while hunting. Deer will often stop what they are doing, look at you and bob their heads up and down and stomp their feet in an attempt to get you to move again so they can get a better look at you.

Meanwhile, Adam turned around to look at us and saw me with the shotgun up to my shoulder and a very terrified look on my face. He then glanced ahead of us and screamed murder at sight of this thing hunched down low to the ground. I told him to pull the winch cable into the cab with us because it was going to take too long for the motor to wind up fifty feet of steel cable. I told him to get into the driver’s seat and that I would ride shotgun. Joe scrambled into the back of the Rhino and I sat shotgun with the door open and my seatbelt loose so I could lean out to the side to get the barrel past the windshield. I instructed him to drive slowly, as this creature was still squatting in the middle of the trail that we were on.

It seemed that when the creature noticed the Rhino rolling forward, it stood up to its full height, but still didn’t move out of our way. When we were about thirty yards away, I instructed Adam to stop and rev the engine in an attempt to get it out of the way. The animal was not intimidated by us, our vehicle or our loud “growl” from the engine. I fired a shot and it let out the most blood-curdling scream and dropped down into a hunched position. This scream started at a loud, deep growl and ended in a quiet clicking, “whiney” noise.

At thirty-yards, I knew that the small “00” buckshot pellets weren’t going to do much damage, but I hoped it would at least move the creature off the trail. It didn’t, so I racked the shotgun and fired another round at it. This time it screamed again and crashed through the tree-line off to our right. I’ve hunted bear before, and bear do not scream like this creature did.

“Drive!” I yelled. We got back to the cabin in record time, just in time for a massive downpour. I stood out by the Rhino with the shotgun while Joe and Adam rushed all of the essentials back into the cabin. We all slept in the main room that night, and none of us slept well.

AFTERMATH

The next morning, we drove to where we had seen and shot at the creature. I had brought my camera in case there were any prints. It had rained too hard the previous night, and everything had washed away. I couldn’t even find my spent shotgun shells as the water had swept everything away. Needless to say, we were very disappointed not to collect any evidence of this being’s existence.

We stayed the rest of the week and didn’t encounter anything else. We didn’t go back to the lake, and no one ventured out alone. We even went out as a group when one person had to use the restroom during the night. The shotgun never left our side, and we were constantly on edge. I often found Adam standing outside the cabin, scouring the horizon with my high-powered binoculars, looking for anything large and black moving through the woods or the marshland.

After speaking with a few locals at the gas station, they said that they had never noticed any creature that looked like our description of the creature; however, there had been Bigfoot sightings in towns to the north. Most people said that I had most likely saw a bear and were quite upset that I had shot at it.

What I had seen definitely wasn’t a bear. Bears do rise up onto their hind legs from time to time, but they do not run on their hind legs or go down into a squatting position. I plan on going up with my same friends this August to do some fishing and sightseeing. We plan on bringing more weaponry and cameras with us this time, though.

I interviewed Al Hodgson in 2005 for my book- Notes From the Field, Tracking North America’s Sasquatch. This is the whole video uncut. For those who may not know who Al Hodgson is, during the 1960’s when all the Sasquatch activity was happening at Bluff Creek, CA. Al owned the local store in the town of Willow Creek and was the one person all the major players in those events went to during that time. Al sort of “connected the dots” so to speak between people such as John Green and Rene Dahinden, Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin, he personally knew Ray Wallace who later made claims of faking tracks, and Bob Titmus. He knew all the events that happened and the people who made history, but never received the recognition he deserved.

DATE: October 30, 2008
TIME: 0200 hours local
LOCATION: Haines Highway near Summit Mountain

NARRATIVE: “…We got going at 6:00 AM the next day, and by evening we had passed through Haines Junction, Yukon and were well into the BC
mountains as a snow-storm hit us. We slowed to about 15mph because the visibility at times was less than a hundred feet. Even so, at the height of land
near Summit Mountain, we slipped off to the right on a right uphill curve. We had seen no other traffic all night going either way, and had to try digging
out. It was dark, but we kept the car running and by the headlights and occasional moonlight we would dig out, move a few yards uphill, then slide off
again. This happened over and over for hours. It was sometime around 2:00 AM when Witness #2 called out and I noticed a dark manlike shape about
six feet tall watching us on the summit bluff about fifty yards away to the east. The bluff was a 20 foot cliff facing the highway with the round height of
land just behind it. The snow was reflecting light from the headlights and maybe patches of moonlight, I don’t know, but we could see it clearly enough to
know it was not a bear. It just stood watching us, standing in the snow about twenty feet above us, not moving or making any noise. I have no idea how
long it had been there watching us.  Witness #2 ran to the car, and before I could react, grabbed a machete that we kept as a tool in the car ran to the
edge of the road and started waving it and screaming at the creature, trying to scare it off.

After watching Witness #2’s actions for only a few seconds, it turned to its right and I watched it walk away in the snow along the top of the bluff for
about fifty feet before disappearing over the flat summit. We talked about what it could have been for a minute or two, then we got back to work digging.
The snow was not coming down right at the time and we were making headway when, about five minutes later, another figure appeared, much taller than
the first. I would estimate the second creature to have been about nine feet tall and heavily built, with shoulders that looked three to three and a half feet
wide. It was dark-colored like the first and there was a breeze that was blowing its hair on the arms… the hair looked to be about eight to ten inches
long where I could see it blowing to the side. The creature was facing directly towards us and was bobbing up and down, in a way that, to me, looked
menacing, kind of like going from a crouch with hands close to the bent knees, then straightening up and down again. At no time did I see either of the
creatures go down on all fours, and at this point I could see the whole body of the big one right down to where the snow came to just below its knees. I
would best describe it as like a football linebacker bobbing up and down before blitzing. I got a distinctly uneasy feeling, and before I knew it, Witness #2
was going for the machete again and was starting in on his “scare-it-off” thing. I took one more look at the creature and called to Witness #2: “Get in
the car, now!”
He looked at me a moment and then got right into the car and we locked the doors. He was still holding the machete. I looked over and the big one was
still looking at us, crouching and bobbing up on the bluff. Witness #2 was extremely upset and was talking about having to defend ourselves. I just said to
him, “Look, there’s no point in getting all worked up the way things are. We might just as well sit tight and try to relax. If that thing wanted to, it could
easily just walk down here and rip the roof right of the car. Let’s just settle down, don’t even look at it, and maybe it’ll calm down and go away.”

“I reassured him as best I could and hunkered down behind the wheel. Witness #2 was curled up in the back. I remember saying a prayer for us. I did
look back out once briefly about five or ten minutes later, I’m not exactly sure how many minutes, but I do remember when I looked a last time, it was
gone.”

“After what must have been at least an hour in the car, we got back out and didn’t hear or see anything. We had been digging for only a few minutes
when lights came up the highway behind us, slowed and, just like us, slid off to the right. It was a small red truck, two-wheel drive, driven by a little
older woman with white hair. We were just getting her unstuck when a snowplow came up behind her, driven by an American who, I believe was
contracted to plow through to the Haines, Alaska side. He seemed to know the lady, because he said, “(Driver’s name of other vehicle), you know you
shouldn’t be out here in weather like this…” We saw her get up over the top of the highway and off down the other side, and the plow driver used his
blade to clear away all the snow on the stuck side and got us out too.”

“We made it down to Haines safely about forty-five minutes later, in time for a breakfast at a cafe and the early ferry. I had told Witness #2 we didn’t
want to be slowed down by talking about any of the events; I just wanted to eat without any delays and make the ferry. But one thing did happen that gave
me a bit of the chills. In a corner of the café, about three booths away there was a group of older men having coffee and talking. I could hear their
conversation and I heard them mentioning sasquatches. One of them commented to the effect, “yeah, they’re around… a couple was just talking about
seeing some of those critters up on top recently…” (Investigator’s Note: The term “on top” possibly refers to being on or near the summit of the Haines
Highway.)

“We made it home on the ferry safely, and that is my experience. Witness #2 has moved away and we don’t keep in touch. Going over the sighting, I did
not make out really clear details of the faces but will say that these were not bears of any kind. The legs, arms and hair on both were too long, there
were no ears sticking up on the top of the head, and they were wide–shouldered with the heads set low on the shoulders. The total time I watched the
first smaller creature was approximately thirty seconds. The larger creature stayed in view for about ten minutes. The details of the creatures as I
remember them are accurate to the best of my ability, although the estimates of distances might be a few yards off, and the heights may vary by a few
inches.”

INVESTIGATIVE SUMMARY: This report is courtesy of J. Robert Alley, Sasquatch Tracker Associate, Southeast Alaska Region.  The two men
involved had purchased a new vehicle in Anchorage, AK and had visited Witness #1’s father in Willow, AK before departing for the Alaska Marine
Highway ferry at Haines, AK at 0600 on October 29, 2008.  Once aboard the ferry, they would make their way back to their homes in Ketchikan, AK.
For those unfamiliar with the road system in Alaska, driving from the interior region of Alaska to the southeastern region of Alaska involves driving
partially through the Yukon Territory and the northern part of British Columbia, reentering the United States and then heading south via the ferry from
Haines, AK.

Witness #1 did not specify if the second sasquatch appeared in the same place as the first one.

Witness #1 made a reference to the BC mountains meaning he and the other witness had already driven the portion of the highway that passes through
the Yukon and were in the northern section of British Columbia within a few miles of the United States – Canada International Border which is
approximately 40 miles north of Haines, AK.

After recounting the encounter with Alley, Witness #1added, “Although neither of the creatures made any sounds that I could hear and we didn’t go
looking for tracks, I would say, having seen various TV documentaries on sasquatches, that on October 30, 2008 I definitely observed two sasquatches
beside the Haines Highway near the summit west of the highway north of Haines, Alaska and south of the Yukon.” Witness #1 has a signed affidavit
testifying to the details of his encounter on file with Alley in Ketchikan, AK.
