SC EP:240 Strange laughter in the woods

I spoke to two hunters today who talked about having strange experiences while out hunting.

Both hunters talked about being screamed and roared at. The witnesses are from two different states, they both talked about hearing what sounded like little kids laughing in the woods and carrying on with this strange gibberish. As I spoke to each witness, it was strange how similar their encounters were.

I had a gentleman on the show a while back who was from Oregon and he talked about hearing this strange gibberish and laughter I believe the following day he had rocks thrown at him, I have been looking for the old episode.

I will also be speaking to Steven who will be sharing with us some of the encounters he has put together on his new website https://lonestar-ape.com/

If you get a chance check it out!

Gene, thay call was made sometime in the early 90’s,and I don’t think the man’s name was ever released to the public,so chancestors are,I would say no dice.

That laughter is just creepy! I be to this day they wonder if it was really kids or what it was, I would! Just creepy. I’ve been to the Lone Star Ape site, and it’s really a nice site. I hope to see a lot more there eventually. Maybe if he ran something in the paper or someone helped get word out that he’s looking for more sightings etc. Best of luck with this and I’ll be checking it often Steven.

Why couldn’t the children sounds be just that? Yes maybe some children passed away in that area and they are now ghosts. Not every sound in the forest is going to be a sasquatch.

Great show Wes! You are such a good interviewer, you know just when to let the guest have his say and get the story out and when to ask a question or add an unobtrusive comment.

    Wes
Your shows just keep getting better! I love the tie in with other encounters..
It totally freaks me out the children sounds. Are they young Sasquatch?
I am glad to know more and more facts are being documented of their behavior ..
Glad for T shirts and hoody. Hope some are long sleeved.

(shudder) seriously how the hehl…. that cannot be topped. A woman being murdered in the woods at night is paralyzingly chilling. But nighttime disembodied children’s voices and giggles in the woods. I mean…. it hurts to type. That’s a loss of all bodily function scenario…

Anyone know where, exactly, the town is that the second witness says his encounter occurred about five miles from (and was north of Chattanooga)? I ask because this region is VERY close to my most active research area. Any idea?

    • Michael H

I thought he said he was 30 miles north of Chattanooga. He also said it was in a National Park near where the AT runs. Also that it was in an area with two rivers that merge together. I’m guessing he maybe talking about the Hiwasse and Ocoee rivers. They merge just outside of Benton TN. Maybe it’s in the area around Reliance? I’m totally guessing and I’d like to know for sure as well because I’m nearby if it’s this area.

I listened again and he said 35 miles north of Chatt and it was in a state park not a national park. Also said “a river” not two rivers. My bad. He also mentioned a BFRO report in 1986 as well that occurred in same county he lives in and there’s one from ’86 in Polk county. I originally listened on my way to work last night and have been awake for 24 hours. Not so sure my memory of the event was accurate. But I’m still thinking Reliance/Ocoee area. Maybe he’ll see this and reply to end the suspense.

I have heard this type of laughter on two occasions during my hiking outings north of Seattle WA. It can be a little disturbing, it’s been 15 years ago but I still remember it very well. My friend was so upset,, he just wanted to go home.

No offense Wes, but “damn dirty ape” isn’t a Wes Germer original. It’s a Charleston Heston original. LOL. I’m sure you realize that. I’m just teasin’.
