A listener writes “Hi Wes, My name is ——————– and I live in Southwest Washington. I listen to your Shows all the time. I too am a Sasquatch Hunter, until last Summer when I actually saw one. Sense then I no longer go out into the woods looking for evidence. I am scared to death to even pick Mushrooms in the Fall. I have looked for evidence all my life and have not really found anything that I would consider evidence. Until a couple years ago when I was Mushroom hunting I came across something I had never seen be before.
This is my Story:
Before I get into this sighting, I want to tell you about all the things I have seen while mushroom picking and on my morning walks.
Two years ago, I was out on my morning walk along the Airport Trail when I came across a set of 3 different tracks. It was a frosty morning and the gravel trail was frozen. The interesting part of this track way, was the Bigfoot were eating Walnuts that they had picked off a tree at the end of the Airport. The walnuts were cracked and thrown in between the tracks for the whole distance. I followed these tracks for over a mile on this trail until finally they walked over the embankment and disappeared into the field. I photographed them with my phone and wished I had some plaster or someone else with me to witness this.
That same summer, my friend Thomas and I would hike up to the top of this ridge, probably a mile or so from the Airport trail. I had a selected tree that I called my knocking tree. We had been there dozens of times throughout the summer. One day when I knocked, I got a return knock…Thomas heard it as well. This is Department of Natural Resource Property, and the gates are always closed so you have to hike to this area.
I am telling you this because it all happened in the general area.
Last fall, we drove up into the Lincoln Creek area to search for mushrooms. We were not having much luck. At the very top of the Ridge the forest ended and opened up into a logged off area. I suggest that we try this last stand of timber…..So Thomas and I walked off the logging road and into the forest through a patch of brush. When we entered the timber, I commented on how groomed the floor of the forest was. I commented that it looked like someone had swept all the sticks up. Then I noticed 2 large nests that were woven into circles like large bird nests. There were 2 of them and they were at least 10 feet across, and about 20 yards apart from each other. I did not have a camera with me, so I took a couple on my phone. It was very silent and I told Thomas I think we should go, because it looks like something is living here. He is none believer, but could not argue the fact that something made these nests.
It was approximately one mile straight up this logging road and we had to hike back down to the truck. Something was going on here, and I was really nervous. I commented I just want to get out of here.
A couple of weeks had passed, and I told my friend, I want to hike back upto that area with my good camera and take some proper photos of these nests. We hiked up to the location, and entered the woods and the forest floor was cluttered with sticks , all scattered everywhere and both the nests were gone. This really creeped me out at the time. We walked around the area and I had discovered several Sasquatch Foot Prints. They measured 16 and 17 inches long. I photographed them and once again I was feeling something was not quite right. So got out of there and walked back down to the truck. All the while I was telling him there are bigfoots living here. He would just look at me and grin.
Later on last summer, I wanted to go back, but this time I wanted him to bring his gun in his backpack. It was a 45 Caliber hand gun. And I said lets take the two Dachounds (Weiner Dogs) with us. So we packed a lunch and heading upto the top of the ridge again. This time, about 500 yards from the top, I noticed two very fresh Tracks coming out of the woods, in the fresh dirt and onto the logging road. Heading up the hill the direction we were going. I rationalized in my mind, we have that 45 in the back pack and that gave me a sense of security. Just when we reached the top, the Dogs started to bark towards the forest. I rationalized that out as it was probably a deer or something like that they are smelling.
Well, we got to the top and walked into the familiar woods, this was a 3rd time there. It was shaded from the sun, but you could see at the end of the woods where the clear cut began, it was bright and sunny. We discovered that whatever it was, had rebuilt two more nest in another section of the woods, but in the general area. I photographed them and Thomas decided he wanted to go to the back side of the ridge to investigate and took the gun and both Dogs followed him.
I continued to search for tracks and I kept hearing sticks breaking, and I would holler, is that you Thomas, with no response. He was out of ear shot.
I suddenly realized that something was walking and circling me. I instantly walked out of the woods onto the logging road, facing the clear cut where the sun was shining and I was starting to feel anxious. It was about a 200 yards away , ( the clear cut) from where I was standing and one of the little dogs came running out of the clear cut and up the road towards me with its tail between its legs, and then I saw what she was running from. I saw a Dark Colored Bigfoot run the whole distance of that clear cut. and it disappeared back into the same section of woods that I just came out of. I picked the dog up and we walked to the bend of the road and called a few times to Thomas, with no response. I was so terrified that I was in full alert. It seemed like only moments and the sticks were breaking and something heavy was walking just inside the woods. Like about 50 feet off the road. I called again for some Thomas ……he was no where to be found. All I could think of was he had the Gun in his backpack, and all I had was Nothing!
As far as I could figure, the Bigfoot ran the edge of the woods and came back around to where I was standing in the road. By then I was so afraid, that
I could hardly keep my composure. Why I did not run down the hill towards the truck I do not know. I was frozen in fear. Thomas finally showed up after about 20 minutes……He said he did not see or hear anything… I made him take the gun out as we walked that mile back. To this day, I refuse to go camping or mushroom picking ever again.
I am a 65 year old man, who has experienced something I wish I never had.”

Like to hear this one on a show…
Thank you for sharing. ..

…..terrifying. I don’t know what I’d do!

I would really like to see pictures of those nests. That sounds really interesting. Wouldn’t it be great to have them compared to other ape nests and see what someone like Dr Sarmiento or Eric Garcia thinks about it? That would be good information to have.
pam
The nests sound like they are the same distance apart from ea. other as the ones found by the Olympoc Project, and also size wise alike.

Thank you for sharing your experience! I’m sure it was terrible recounting all the details . Those of us who are believers but not yet knowers really appreciate it! I wouldn’t return to those woods either!

So another reason to carry a gun.

I agree With John E, I’d like to hear this gentleman on the show. And Kenneth you are right, just one more reason to go armed when in the woods.

Well said Amy D. I agree
