SC EP:1145 Run Out Of Camp

Spoke to Todd and Kerri who are from Louisiana. They were camping and had seen eyeshine from two individuals who were about 6-7 feet tall. Kerri and Todd describe pebbles hitting their tent and strange vocalizations.

The two individuals came into camp and were touching the tent and walking around the camp. Todd says โ€œI could hear them hitting my truck and I lost it. I came out of my tent with an airhorn and yelling. We grabbed our stuff and left. I forgot my phone which was recording.โ€

After the truck drives off you hear a strange vocalization I thought was a hog but the more I listened to it, its not a hog.

I agree. Claire is a legend. Next to West & Woody’s encounter…hers may be the best and most intense out of 1,000+ episodes. Obviously Wes agrees since he’s had her in the intro for years

Oh yeah.. I lived 15 minutes from Broken Bow, tent camped at Broken Bow Lake, and at that time sasquatch wasn’t a thing of interest for me , and I had no idea sasquatch was real or in that area. My brother had a road sighting about ten minutes south of Broken Bow but he didn’t tell me about it for 30 years or more! That was in the early 1980s. If you put Broken Bow in the episode search bar there is another episode (at least one) with a bunch of older men sitting around a campfire relating their story about running from a sasquatch on kne kf the islands that are in the lake, and those guys getting in the water to hide from their parents that they peed their pants after they got away from the thing . I get it.

Very scary encounter, and so creepy listening to the things “talking”. You can clearly hear them talking. So cool you guys caught that!! Great job with your interview Todd and Kerri!!! Thanks, Wes, and great job organizing the recordings and good catch with the last probable truck hitting sound!!! Very scary encounter. Wow!!!!

My wife and I stayed on Broken Bow Lake a couple of days last November. Bigfoot/Sasquatch/”Booger” lore entails a portion of the economy there, with several businesses referencing the creature. It’s an intriguing place to visit if you’re a squatch fan!

Wes, first, the seamless connection of two separate interviews is phenomenal. Stellar mixing. Todd and Karri did an amazing retelling of their encounter and hearing that Louisiana accent makes me want some gator tail! Having the audio accompaniment is truly chilling. Thank you!

  3. Trent M

Wow! Great editing that was amazing! I agree 100% with what Elizabeth B said. Also Todd and Kerri were speaking just fine but I was born in Tx. and never had trouble understanding a La. accent.

  4. Daniel B

Wow what a scary night. That communication they caught after leaving is pretty groundbreaking stuff itโ€™s interesting and sounds like low frequency communication as they rifle through their camp .

  5. Lisa B

Fantastic show Wes! Thank you Todd and Kerri for sharing your experiences! I agree with others Wes, great editing, very smooth. Scary encounter for sure!! ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿ˜ฑ And love that solo guitar in the beginning. ~sigh

Ya know, my opinions aside about late shows, missing shows ect and I have to admitโ€ฆWes is indeed god-like. I would like to join all of you fellow commenters from now on and consensually stuff Wes deep into my mouth like the rest of you. He had cultivated a fandom to where people likeโ€ฆsay Calvin would execute his own loved ones for that whimsical opportunity to pleasure Wes in whatever fashion desired. Wes, you are amazing. Smart. Brilliant actually. Ever thought about publishing a book?

Thx to Todd and Kerry for coming on and sharing their encounter. It was definitely frightening.
Wes, you should send that audio clip to Scott Nelson as he found speech in the Sierra Sounds. I’m sure he’ll find this clip extremely interesting.
It really did sound like they were communicating with each other๐Ÿค”
    Another superb episode, Wes.
    Thanks for your dedication!

That is so scary. Nothing worse than laying in the dark trying not to move and breathing so shallow to see if I heard something or not. Kerri and Tim were so calm getting out of there. Great job Wes. Always a great job.

Maybe I’m not hearing the right thing, but all I hear is a skeeter ๐ŸฆŸ or bug flying around, that was probably attracted to the light of the phone. I don’t even know if I’m talking about the right noise, but if it’s that buzzing noise, I would have just immediately written that off as a bug.

  10. Karla G

Even though I think that noise is just a bug flying around the light of the phone, it definitely seems like they had some big hairy visitors nosing around camp. the noise that was recorded might be easily explained, but all of the other interaction that they had sounds like genuine Bigfoot activity to me. I know how terrifying it is to be laying in a tent and have stuff going on around you. I’ve been through it. not as intensely as this, but when I was camping in the uwharrie, I saw orange eyes that slowly rose off the ground to about 7 or 8 ft tall, and then later on that night as I was sleeping in my tent alone (my disabled father was asleep in the car 100 yards up the hill, on the road) I heard something approaching from way down in the woods, it most definitely sounded like two feet, it walked all the way up to my tent, leaned over my tent to where I saw the shadow come up over my tent. then it leaned back and I never heard another sound. never heard it leave. I never went to sleep that whole night, never heard it leave, but when the sun came up there was nothing there, it was crazy. uwharrie never disappoints.

  11. Karla G

I don’t think that sound was something hitting the truck, I’m pretty sure that was the truck door closing, because you can hear the other door close on the other side and it’s the exact same sound, but slightly more muffled because it’s coming from the other side. I did hear something that sounded kind of like a wood knock as they were gathering their stuff up though, which was probably just a sound artifact (noise pareidolia), but you never know.

Ezekiel 14:12 The word of the LORD came again to me, saying,14:13 Son of man, WHEN THE LAND SINNETH AGAINST ME BY TRESPASSING GRIEVOUSLY, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it:14:14 Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord GOD.14:15 If I cause NOISOME BEASTS (noisome is the same word as evil in the Hebrew) to pass through the land, and they spoil it, so that it be desolate, that no man may pass through because of the beasts:14:16 Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters; they only shall be delivered, but the land shall be desolate.14:17 Or if I bring a sword upon that land, and say, Sword, go through the land; so that I cut off man and beast from it:14:18 Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they only shall be delivered themselves.14:19 Or if I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my fury upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast:14:20 Though Noah, Daniel, and Job were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter; they shall but deliver their own souls by their righteousness.14:21 For thus saith the Lord GOD; How much more when I send MY FOUR SORE JUDGMENTS upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?

This is the same description as the 4th seal of Revelation…..

Revelation 6:7 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.6:8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with THE BEASTS OF THE EARTH. (Four sore judgements)

This definitely makes it sound specifically like sasquatch…..

Ezekiel 34:25 And I will make with them a covenant of peace, and will cause the EVIL BEASTS to cease out of the land: and they shall dwell safely in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods.

Beastโ€™s of the land mentioned so many times!!! Iโ€™ve used these examples too, ppl just act like Iโ€™m nutsโ€ฆ. God has told us ALL thingsโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

the editing god Wes, editing a divorced couple together into a corroborating cohesive story. What a freaking legend! This may be the first time this has ever been done in podcast history. Big flex Wes!

  14. Charles R

Could very well be the Bigfoot’s breathing. Although it also has some scratchyness to it. If Todd and Kerri left their tent, maybe one of the Bigfoots was was moving the zipper up and down. Definitely footsteps and checking out the camp they were. While I played the recorded part, turned it up a bit with my 1977 Marantz 2265 receiver hooked to 8 speakers in my office, my wife opens the door and asked what it that, because our Golden Lab, Finn was in the living room growling. Weird.

  15. m99

Wow. Excellent episode Wes. We just got to listen to it because we were busy around here yesterday. ‘Bout to get going outside. I love how you spliced the two interviews together. Top of the Line! I’ll listen closer later on, but did hear a bit of tell tale sign when listening to the recording first during the episode.

Sounds like we have the same tent where you can see the stars over top through netting, unless you use the rain flap. I’ve heard of them looking in that way, and to do that they’d have to be extremely tall. No human, I’d venture to say, even Andre the Giant (rest in peace Andre) would be able to look inside, over the top of the tent like that.

This reminds me of the work a member from Texas does in the Sam Houston National Forest:

    https://sasquatchchronicles.com/forums/topic/my-audio-recordings-overnight-in-the-natl-forest/

Also, I’ve heard researchers talk about leaving a recording device in a tent while not there. This is the best of all that, at least from what I’ve heard.

Thanks again everyone concerned, ya’ll did an excellent job! _m

Wes is amazing! The guest had a very amazing and detailed account and the added complexity of interviewing them seperatly. The production value was excellent.

  17. Michaela W

OH BOY OH BOY WES……Did you bring it home for me. My “loving” father decided to “teach” me to swim in the middle of Rend Lake, Sesser, Illinois at the age of 6 by picking me up and throwing me overboard too, out of our boat, without a vest or ski belt. I remember sinking, panicking, and then flailing around like a maniac until I finally broke to the surface. I hear my mom yelling at him and him laughing. What an ass. And I am their only child! From then on, every weekend we could, we went camping and boating and when I was in the water and he jumped in, he would torment me, and I swear I think he tried to drown me. He used to go blump blump and laugh as I panicked wanting back in the boat. Horrible experience and I too ‘learned’ how to swim. Not the best swimmer but won’t drown!! That is for DAMN sure. Anyway, loved the episode as usual and keep up keeping it going. Love ya, Michaela Wagie

The way are they taking turns is unnatural. Almost like they have the whole thing planned out. Their voices lacks real expression. Did they pre record this and send it in or is this live?

    • Lori C

Wes explained at the beginning that he had to interview them separately. He then blended the two separate interviews into one for our benefit. Fantastic account of Bigfoot behavior! Kudos Wes, Todd and Carrie!!

  19. Lori C

Fantastic interview, Wes!! You did an amazing job of blending the two and I was spellbound the entire time!! Thank you thank you Wes, Todd and Carrie!

  20. Tara W

I just listened to Wes on Bigfoot & Beyond. Worth checking out! Towards the end I was crying at work because I’m a fellow water sign and Wes was talking about Dr. Bendernagle calling to say goodbye to him before he died.
Friendship is a beautiful thing, and it’s so great when we can learn from each other!

  21. Kari L

Wow, really enjoyed this, frightening, I was glued to this episode. Thank you guests and Wes…very well-spoken, well-told by both and the editing to parallel their accounts together, Wes, was perfect!! Scary!!

  22. Dalla R

Wes, you done an amazing job with recording this story! And what an incredible experience this couple had! holy crap!
listening to the recording that was captured on his phone, the creatures communicating with each other, was very creepy. Sometimes I feel scared listening to these stories, and this was one of them.

  23. Jeffrey J

this was one of the best shows in a while, the way you edited and brought their stories together, clearly shows they both experienced this. To hear them separate of each other is another fantastic angle. gives such perspective from her and him, and then when you add in the recording of the experience and the air horn and their conversation. hard to fake that kind of fear you hear in the recording of her and him.
