Update: Man Attacked By ‘Animal With Dark, Coarse Hair’

Jacksboro, TN (WATE) – A LaFollette, Tennessee man was transported to the hospital with what deputies say are “severe and significant injuries” after he was attacked early Friday morning.

Michael Savage, 27, was attacked in the Demory, High Knob and White Bridge Park area of Campbell County around 6 a.m., according to Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency (TWRA). He was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center and is listed in stable condition.

Savage said he was attacked by an animal with dark coarse hair. TWRA said they cannot confirm the animal that attacked Savage was a bear, but they have issued a bear warning. They said that if there is an aggressive bear in the area, it will be euthanized.

Campbell County Sheriff Robbie Goins said Savage walked three miles to his house with “severe and significant” injuries before calling 9-1-1. Goins pleads for citizens in the area to be aware and extremely cautious for the presence of bear activity in the area.

    When the man was attack, I’m wondering if he had a
    look at the animal? Was he attack from behind or within vision?
    I haven’t herd or read of Sasquatch/Bigfoot attacking people but
    that doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened before.
    I believe all animals including Bigfoot can come into contact with rabies. I hope the man has a rabies test as well.

    did they take the knife to test the blood on it? If he fought off something like some of us think he would be broken in some places. 20 mins. with a small Chimpanzee he would be dead or close to it. if the time frame was like 45 sec maybe his story would be true.

    Having captured baby raccoons, foxes, and coyotes, I sustained worse.

    He truly is lucky it was not a critter that he claims it is…..

    The next press release will say Racoon with rabies together with a picture of that ranger holding a dead one. Kinda like the weather ballon pic from roswell. Ignore the kill teams in choppers

    I viewed the real footage of Lights Over Phoenix on you tube before it disappeared . When I saw it it was like holy shit that’s real !
    People out in their front yard with their family out their looking at this UFO . It wasn’t dark out , it was evening and the sun had just set still light out and this was live front yard footage with what everyone saw but you can’t find it on YouTube any more . Gone. Wikipedia states the fellow lost the home video footage . It was real . It was not even dark out .

      This huge spaceship just sitting up there . Massive ! The neighbors across the street and their family were out in their yard looking up at it . Surreal . I knew I should have saved it but did not realize it’s significance . I still own the computer it was viewed on . Does that matter? Can that utube vid be traced?

    I’m not implying that some cryptid was responsible but how can you not know what it was that attacked you? Even if it was 6:00 am and still somewhat dark- you’d know.
    Doesn’t make sense to me.

    This is off topic obviously but the importance is that it disappeared off Utube like a lot of real bigfoot vids do . Ask Bob G. In Texas .
    It was not a UFO blob squatch .IMO it was the real deal , and since it was so widely seen in person by all of Phoenix that gives it the support of thousands of witnesses of all ages all over the city , in wich the Governor had to address it but only mocked it . I feel the video was crystal clear reality that has now disappeared from Utube. The only videos of it now are all at pitch black night . This was light out see perfectly clearly massive alien ship above Phoenix that thousands seen but it’s being buried . Same shit different day.

    I have a hard time,very hard time believing that he fought a bf for 20 mins! No way! They have been reported to have removed peoples heads with one swipe but somehow he got stitches out of it. He better join the UFC and become the greatest fighter of all time!!

      True but what about the ohio story from back in the day when the daughter defended her dad by chucking a rock at a sass that was tussling with her father for a bit?

    Those are significant lacerations. They look very similar to the injuries to my brothers horse when attacked by a cougar. There were no significant bite marks on the horse either. But there was a huge fight and the cat lost and gave up. At least that night.

    The latest update on this states that the police are now highly doubtful he was attacked by anything. A thorough investigation of the scene revealed no evidence of a struggle, no blood or hair or any other physical evidence was found. They also seem to be implying that the wounds were self inflicted. Criminal charges against him are being considered based on the fact that a huge amount of resources went into investigating and processing the incident. Sounds like he might have been fighting all night with a bottle of jack Daniels.

    You should be able to tell the difference between a bear and something else in hand to hand combat. I don’t care if it’s dark out or not. Plus the bear is gonna be growling, snapping or popping his jaws at you and those are very distinguishable sounds.. So if it’s not a bear say it’s not a bear and say it was something else. There’s not too many other choices if he rules out the bear and a squirrel ain’t one of them. If the guy did that to himself than they may not have medication potent enough to help him.

    I’m wondering if he sustained further injuries that they are not showing on purpose??? I mean to me it’s a red flag, because they only showed surface scratches except for maybe the stomach area or chest area, it looks like it was stitched back, but my point is, what if he sustained more injuries than they’re showing on purpose so they can claim it’s a bear? Very interesting indeed!!!!
