Tonight’s Show: The Hunting Club – *Delayed Until Tomorrow*

**I apologize to the audience. My dog Teddy cries when he tries to get up or lay down. I am not sure if he pulled a muscle or what is going on. I am taking him to the emergency vet to find out what is wrong, its an hour away. The show will most likely be posted late tonight but just incase I am putting it as delayed until tomorrow.**

Spoke to the witness and he has agreed to come on the show. A listener writes “I’m 56 years old and an avid deer hunter with 39 years of hunting experience to date. I’ve had several experiences in the woods leading up to my day time sighting on my hunting club in SC . My youngest son turned me on to your podcast. I feel compelled to share my experiences.”

He has probably “sprained” his spine, for lack of a better term. It’s happened to my dog a few times when she has jumped down off of something high, or jumped up on something the wrong way. I just had her at the vet for this 3 weeks ago. They usually just give them some pain meds and tell you to keep them still for a week or so. Hope that’s all it is, and I totally understand, my dogs are my family, and family comes first.
~Good luck, Teddy!! I hope you get to feeling better, little guy. You’re in good hands. You have a good dog Daddy!!

Well that’s ok Wes. I get it. I had to put my lab down (Sampson) two weeks ago Monday. It really sucked. I had him since he was 8 weeks old and he was now 12. This broke my heart so much. Yesterday I just received his ashes back. The vet also gave me several nose prints and paw prints plus a few paw prints in clay. I know it’s super hard. He was my best friend and hunting dog. It’s just not the same without him.

    Take care Wes.

My sincerest condolences. Sometimes it’s harder losing a pet than it is to lose certain family members. We are rarely with people as constantly as we are with our dogs. The loss is complete and indescribable. I’ve only ever had to put one cat down, and it was done without my knowledge while I was at school. It’s one of my biggest fears that I will have to put one of my dogs down. I just don’t think I could do it. The fact that you did just shows how much you loved your dog. You put his comfort above your own. You’ll see Samson again one day, because if there is a heaven, all dogs have a one-way Express ticket. My son’s name is Cory. So sorry for your loss. I know it hurts, but he’s out there somewhere waiting for you.

Corey, that feeling of loss is so profound. A couple of years ago, we had to have our 13-year-old rescue dog put down. We’d had him since he was two months old. He was everyone’s favorite family member. We have his ashes and paw print displayed on a bookshelf in our living room, and that helps keep his memory alive. (As if we’d ever forget him!) My deepest condolences to you.

I feel for you and am sorry for your loss, we lost our Boston on August 6th, Maya was just 8 years old and was happy and a people loverl, she keeled over with a stroke while we were at the vets of all places, she followed me everywhere I loved her like my baby and miss her all the time.🐕❤️

I hope Teddy is ok and getting the best veterinary care possible. I remember those ER visits and how stressful they were for my puppy. Time sure does moves differently at the ER. While I look forward to your shows, nothing is more important than family and that’s what they are—family. Hang in there.

I’ll be praying for Teddy and yourself. Family always comes first. Take care of you and the pup without a thought given to the podcast. We know what’s important.
My condolences on Sampson, Corey. Hang in there. It sounds trite, but it does get better with time.

My most sincere wishes for Teddy that it is a minor issue and that Teddy will be active again soon. Today we celebrate my golden lab, Finn, 10 th birthday. Dogs are one of God’s greatest gifts to us. All they ask for is to be loved, and then they give it back 10 times over.

Always take care of your dog first! I’m sure the majority of the listeners would rather your animal’s taken care of before a episode. Take care and God bless! Hope nothing is wrong with your dog. Keep us posted!

Any update on Teddy’s condition? We have been thinking about him all night and this morning. I’m so glad to see all the heartfelt prayers and wishes for Teddy, it really shows that when it comes to the important things we can all come together.

Wishing Teddy well. If you’re still near Portland, Tanasbourne ER is the absolute best at diagnosing unknown stuff. They have helped my crew out many times. Hope Teddy heals quickly.

You do what you gotta do Wes! I still have not fully recovered from my Laney Bug going to pup heaven back in Mar and I’m a 60 yr old man brother. Godspeed Wes!
