SC EP:208 Terrifying night out hunting

A witness contacted me and says he was hunting with a friend and they were being followed most of the night. They were unsure of what was pacing and following them. As the two hunters were leaving the area, they both turned around and saw a 7-8 foot tall creature looking around a tree at them. The creature did not flinch when they had their lights on him. The witness describes the creature’s face looking tired of like it had down syndrome.

One of the hunters wanted to run but the men remained calm and slowly backed off and walk out. The witness who was in front said his friend screamed and bolted past him. He said that the creature had grabbed his backup light that was hanging on a cord and shook it.

Sorry I don’t believe this story in fact I don’t believe most of the stories anymore seems people are just jumping on the band wagon Down syndrome seems to be the new buzz word in the Bigfoot world at the mo I keep hearing it all the time now never heard before this year

    • Wes

Actually the guys from the siege of honobia said the creature looked like it had down syndrome and that was back on SC EP:11…..I am now on SC EP:208…so it’s not just a buzz word for this year.

      • Adam Stewart

I believe that people come hear to talk about strange, scary and traumatic experiences involving an unknown creature… most like myself wait and debate sharing their experience and listening to SC is therapeutic… then when we build up the courage to tell our stories we understandbly use words from past shows that best describe our sightings so that the SC audience can visualise better

      • Eddie M

I heard this used to describe facial features way back before S.C. was being aired. Relatively closed populations are going to have this. If for some reason new “blood” is not introduced into a population this genetic recessive defect will appear…it does in humans…”Human Gypsy” populations go outside their clans for this reason…New bulls are introduced from outside for cattle herd integrity. That’s not a “buzz” word…it’s a genetic certain occurrence if New Blood is not introduced.

    • Joyce N

Charlie, why is every blessed episode an argument on the authenticity of the guests , when you didn’t even hear them out first? What kind of manners were you taught at home to jump on another human being accusing them of being a liar before they can speak their piece? I really don’t know what the hell is wrong with some of you members as of late, but I suggest you pull your shit together and stop taking your bad day out on others. Bitch bitch bitch moan moan moan. You’re really a miserable group and it’s sickening.
You read the phrase “down’s syndrome appearance” and you ASSume the guest is jumping on a “bandwagon”. Hm. Did it ever occur to you that the appearance of down’s syndrome in these sightings may be a direct result of inbreeding or government DNA scrambling. It could make them more dangerous. Down’s syndrome kids can become violent when their routines are disturbed-Did you know that? They’re a primate-we’re a primate-What else do they have in common? It’s a piece of the puzzle and you’re over there trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. In your little mind, in your little world along with the other bitchers & moaners if it doesn’t fit your ideas to your specifications then it’s false. Well, that’s a narrow minded viewpoint and it gets us closer to exactly nothing. I’m as tired of listening to you & the B&M squad as you are of hearing whatever flips your switch at that particular moment. If you are that unhappy -By all means-log out. If you have a complaint why is it constantly posted in view of everyone? Why don’t you just send Wes an e-mail? Why do we all have to be witness to you (and the B&M squad’s ) constant complaints? It’s a real downer. You’re like the disruptive kids in the back of the class being as obnoxious as humanly possible when the rest of the class is trying to learn something. Knock it off. Geez.
Sorry Wes-I love your show but I need a damn break from all the whining. Be back later-Love to all 😉

    • Michael M

Even if 207 shows were made up or imagined if that 208 is real there real. Which they obviously are AMD I actually enjoy listening to such stories and you obviously due as well

      ATTENTION CHARLIE

We are all “within our rights” to our own belief and opinion, however, the rights in question require evidence to justify your claim. l can not speak for others, but I am interested as to why you find this as a questionable encounter. There is nothing wrong with a mature and respectful debate, so please feel free to provide us with your evidence . . .whether it be physical, empirical, logistical and/or statistical data, abductive and/or deductive reasoning, probability, individual testimony, and/or Occam’s Razor. You now have the floor…

OR, perhaps you are an incognito government operative hired to infiltrate the sasquatch community in an attempt to ignite chaos, disarray, and ultimately, complete destruction!!! If so, please be advised, your efforts shall be futile!!!

      • Jacqueline O

In all seriousness, I feel compelled to point out another perspective for the members. I would like people to read this as neither good nor bad, but neutral.

It seems, as a result of all the insensitive and derogatory comments in previous forums, we “The Hated” have become the “Haters”. Now, I am in no way supporting Charlie, but he did not use foul language, accuse the witness of lying, or call him vulgar names. However, he was unable to provide evidence to support his claim. So, as stated before, please elaborate on the theories which justify your conclusion as to why you, “…don’t believe most of the stories anymore…”. Remember, “Down Syndrom” can be argued either way…

          • Jacqueline O

Doing good, and you? I think we might have a very hot summer in Texas this year, the crickets, mosquitos, and june bugs are out and about by the thousands…I have to use a whole can of bugspray just to mow the lawn, seriously…I don’t know how the sasquatch put up with this?!

          • Jacqueline O

Ha Ha LOL!!! I just sent you a comment about that same thing in one of the recent blogs (I think it was regarding the upcoming show about the snowmobile accident?). I wonder what happened? 🙂

          • Lou V

A friend of mine just moved down by Richardson Texas he loves it! Going to visit him at the end of the summer for sure. Glad things are good! It’s only in the 60’s here in NJ so can’t complain yet.

          • Lou V

Jacqueline first thing I asked my buddy who moved to Richardson was how far he was from Sam Houston forest lol

          • Jacqueline O

Richardson!!!…OMG, since this is an open forum for anyone to read, I don’t feel comfortable sharing my exact whereabouts, but let’s just say I’m within an hours drive from DFW, and I have been to and through Richardson probably over 10,000 times!

Has your friend lived here long enough to experience the deathly heat of late July and August?

          • Lou V

Yea this will be his second year and he did say it’s gets got as hell but he also doesn’t miss it getting 5 degrees here in the winter lol trade off. When it gets closer to me coming down I will shoot you my email and cell phone maybe we can go squatching!?

          • Jacqueline O

Yep, we definitely need to go squatchin! If you go out in the country be ready for a culture shock (lol). I have lived in several states throughout my adulthood, and every time I always become close friends with “transplants” from Jersy and Philly…it’s really strange.

          • Lou V

That’s funny but nothing wrong with that! I will get you my info soon another avenue to chat!

    • TERRY T

Have you ever thought that maybe some folks didn’t have the right word in mind when describing their encounter?
and have you ever not been lost for a word that was in your vocabulary ?
take a good look at some orangutans and chimps have that same exact look !
I have had my own encounter back in 1968 on mount Palomar California and I agree with this facial description
my cousin Eddie went o his death in his own private hellish night mare.
Until he had me visit him before his demise to ask me did we really see this I assured him yes we did and a look of
being at peace formed on his face love ya Ed

    • Shawn B

I dont believe you really saw a snake. In your descriptuon you said it crawled on the ground and had no legs. Your description of a snake is identicle to every other witness description I have heard and that corraboration proves you are lieing.

    • Dovie D

Its sad you don’t believe what people share about their encounters but as for myself I do. There have been a few occasions where I questioned a few people who shared but that does not mean it is fact. Sometimes people have a hard time talking about their experience, they forget things (which I understand that) and speaking on this pod cast knowing millions may be listening. That could bring up some anxiety. I want to thank the person who shared tonight. I cant imagine the fear OMG. Someone was looking out for you. 🙂

    • Joel M

Ok Chucky bounce! Maybe Wes will give you your 7 dollars back. Or have some cojones and go on the next trip to Texas. Maybe just maybe you’ll get your head ripped off from your body. j37k ?ff! Sorry Wes!

  2. Frankie P

Great encounter! So glad he got his friend out, but sorry they both are so badly affected, but who wouldn’t be? You think you know your “home” and neighbors, and then… just scary.

  3. Joyce N

Well, I listened to the whole show. Wes, you did a good job. That gentleman sounded like he was on the verge of tears, lots of anxiety and tension in his voice when he first started speaking. You got him talking and comfortable. What can ya say? You have a gift. Most impressive. Thanks a bunch, Dan. Glad you found us. You’re the kind of people Wes & Woody started this podcast for. Honest people who have a lot on their chest and need to get it off without being treated like you’re nuts. 🙂

  4. RubenD S

Great stuff Wes! You got him good! Besides, who cares what term is used? Witnesses are just doing their best to describe something they’ve seen and that particular term seems to work best.

  5. diana m

    Great show, Wes.

Dan, you’re doing really important stuff!!! Listening to, believing & supporting when folks tell their stories. Don’t be worried about the skeptics, cause there ain’t no way they’ll ever go out in the woods with you… just ask ’em if they want to do a little huntin’ 😉

  6. Ryan M

It seams to me alot of the stories have similarities because they are traits and behavior of sasquatches. We here more cause more people are feeling comfortable enough to come forward.

  7. michael n

Wes, you know people have to do anything they can to try and discredit you and the guests on this site. This is the best site there is period!! I have nothing but respect for you and what you do for us bro. Keep on keepin on!!

  8. michael n

Btw, how in the hell could you not believe Dan? There is nothing about his experiences that ring false! Anyway, Wes, im sorry to have to say this but you are going to have to work harder…….I need a show everyday…..lol. I’m sure I speak for a lot of folks here when I say these shows are the highlight of my week more so than not. You’re doing a hell of a job and thanks yet again.

  9. Christine J S

Excellent show Wes and you did a wonderful job on crappy Mr. Critic!
Dan needed a place to tell his stories (totally believeble) and you are the perfect host to listen. Can’t wait to see his pictures. Keep up the good work.

  10. Jan W

Another great show! Thanks so much for sharing your experiences, Dan. Would really like to see your photos of foot prints, tree breaks, and structures. Thanks again!

  11. ohkyhiker

Great show! I have no reason to doubt this guest because I have had activity on several occasions years apart in the same area that I hike and camp at in eastern Kentucky.

  12. Paul S

Hey Charlie ,get your lazy ass out in the woods more often and that way you can have an experience . Then maybe u will stop doubting everyone’s stories.

  13. Jack A

Hey Wes, my family and I are on vacation in Grays Harbor County right now (staying in a cabin on Copalis Beach), and will be traveling up the coast tomorrow for a day of hiking and, in my case, searching for any signs of squatch. We will be near Lake Quinalt and could potentially even access the Cololnel Bob Wilderness in the southermost portion of the Olympic National Forest. Any tips on where to explore?

I would love to hear from other commenters, too, if any of you guys know of any good hikes/areas near Quinalt. Thanks! And Wes, thanks for all that you do. Love the show.

  14. DONNA G

Thanks Wes for having Dan on . I truely enjoyed the stories that he told. I would not go back into the woods after that incident that happened several days ago with his friend. I believe Scott Carpenter had some BF follow him home and would steal his dog food that was kept on the back porch in a plastic container. He noticed it would be missing some and the container was moved. I am glad I don’t have the desire to actually venture into the woods. Listening to other peoples experiences and close encounters is enough to make me uncomfortable sometimes. I have to admire you, Wes, and anyone else who goes back into the woods after they have had any kind of experience. It takes some courage and a little bit of craziness to do that knowing there could be something lurking in the woods.

    • thomas w

i used to ask that question, and u would think with all the guests on, especially Bob Garrett and co., we would have seen mass pictures posted by wes by now. at least i figured he would get mailed some submission here and there. i have yet to see anything from Garrett and Co, yet they claim to know exactly where these boogers roam and live.. i understand not posting the new grey booger drone footage for fear of being bashed, but cmon give us ONE wet our appetite. please! as a paying member, i hope to logon at least once every few months and see a little something from folks who use this outlet to put out their podcasts, and see a new pic that has t floated around online or youtube for up to a year. im NOT hating just stating my opinion and replying to this members comment, as I always here wes has been sent a pic by a guest, or wes wants to send them a pic to aer if thats what they saw… well let us see!

    • Jacqueline O

I think Len and Thomas bring up some good points. Anyone who conducts their own research or “accidentally” captures footage or audio of a sasquatch has the right to the evidence and how is should be handled, but one would think that after hundreds of individuals coming forth with stories and evidence, someone would be willing to share. I understand Wes not wanting to be a third party in the matter, so as a suggestion, perhaps any guest who has no problem with sharing can refer to a youtube channel, facebook, or whatever public media they see fit. Or has this idea already been discussed?

  15. Duke S

Great show, interesting sightings, and another example of the folks who are there – in the woods, at night – being the ones who have most of the encounters with Bigfoot! Keep these wonderful guests coming on and thanks for all your efforts, Wes!

  16. Janetta V

I thought this was an exceptionally good show. I love it when Wes and the guest have a conversation together, it seems like more information comes out when everyone is relaxed, and you instill that in people Wes. This was you calling. You have found your nitch in life and it is to help others. You are gifted like the very eloquent Jacqueline stated in her GREAT commentary above. Thanks J. O. Dear Dan, whenever you have more knowledge than others about something, that’s not a curse, and don’t think of it that way, its a blessing. Vent your frustrations right here on SC. you will also be helping others. For the skeptics and others that don’t believe, it is because they are afraid to confront the unknown or others just have too brilliant of a mind to understand the simple. Thanks Wes and Dan. j.v.

  17. Adam Stewart

I believe that people come hear to talk about strange, scary and traumatic experiences involving an unknown creature… most like myself wait and debate sharing their experience and listening to SC is therapeutic… then when we build up the courage to tell our stories we understandbly use words from past shows that best describe our sightings so that the SC audience can visualise better and see similarities. By Charlies logic “Flute player” being used since day1 warrants fraudulence… huh, maybe Ill get lucky and “Glow Sticks” will be used to describe bright, paranormal eyeshine in future shows…lol but Charlie will say its fake then, so future folks, dont use that reference to describe your experience or your a liar. TERRIBLE LOGIC CHAS.

  18. anthony t

thank you wes and dan, great interview….wes perhaps you can help connect this guest with someone in his area to help him research it sounds like he’s got a bit of activity going an around his location….thanks again.

  19. Jacqueline O

    HUNTER AGAIN ?!?!?!

Matt, you stated “Having two sycophants two shows in a row now…”. Did you listen to Ep. 207 with Adam? If not, you should, and if so, please re-listen and take the advice Wes suggested during the “House Keeping” segment . Of course, I can not speak for Wes, but I can refer to his typed word and oral commentary… “Please be respectful to the guests…We’re all adults here…I shouldn’t have to monitor the forums…We’ve created a safe place here, where people can come forward with their sightings without the ridicule from others …”.

I’m going out on a limb here, but I guess you do not have a career in customer service or public relations…am I correct?

Or, perhaps it is you that is the incognito government operative…

    • Adam Stewart

Thank you, & Well said Jacqueline O, Thank you for correcting him. It is easy to compliment Wes on air because you want the world to hear how much he has helped you… Wes is humble, and rarely speaks highly of himself, so it is well deserved. Wes is a great man & a healer. He really helped me… more than you know on and off air. So go to the deep south in the Appalachian Mtns in KY, TN, GA climb those mountains at night and see what happens… youll know then why we compliment Wes.

  20. Jacqueline O

Oh no Matt, you’ve not a member are you? Just a detritivore lurking in the depths.
Too bad…I think Wes should let you listen to Ep. 207 “on -the -house”, it’s just for you!

    • Adam Stewart

      Thank you Jacqueline O, xoxo
He will LOVE what “that guy” said near the end.
Damn nervous & traumatised guests saying “thank you” to a very humble, kind and generous man that helps people on & off air… whats this world coming to???

  21. Kay S

Charlie B. Do you think the reason different people give the same descriptions is because that’s what they saw? People have been describing some Bigfoot as looking Down syndrome for years, go back and check if you don’t believe me. There are many different descriptions of Bigfoot, which makes sense if there are different groups and sub groups. Just like the diversity of the appearance of different races in humans and many other animals.
Thanks Dan and Wes, you both did good?

  22. Noreen A

Thankyou to Wes and Dan for a great show! Dan, you may not be a researcher but we are all learning from your experiences. Please continue to share your information! You are sincere, intelligent and passionate. Keep up the good work!

  23. Lise B

There was not one guest in the last three years i didn’t enjoy listening to. No matter the dialect or grammar, they all had me hanging on every word. those of you who post just to be little and think your better than others… get the heck off this site you damned buzz kill..debbie downers!!! Scram!!!!
Another GREAT show. Yes siree bob!
Thanks, to Wes and the guests

  24. Amy D

Gosh Wes, these poor people living with these memories of these experiences all locked up inside of them until you came along to share your story! Your a good guy!

  25. Sid N

I care little what the nay sayers have to say…until you live among these animals you have no basis to judge them that do! I live here in a neighboring state from tonight’s guest, I’ve heard many things from my mountain relatives that today would be called Bigfoot activity. Most of my neighbors have their own things to tell that they’ve experienced. I know what I’ve experienced, until you experience things first hand, you wouldn’t understand the fear of walking in your own neighborhood, or your long driveway to just get to your car or from your car to your house. Never mind the fear of even being outside when nighttime falls, or even sitting on your own front porch. Because you fear coming face to face with these creatures! I’m like most of the knowers, your doubtful opinion has no bearing on my reality!

    • Dave T

Alright Sid N, you’ve got my curiosity going. We might need to hear more about your experiences with boogers. Email Wes so we might get to hear more.

  26. Jeffrey C

I really like stories involving hunters, being one myself. I spend a ton of time in the woods (turkey season is coming up so I’ll be out alot in May). I started checking out Bigfoot lore about a year ago; since then whenever I’m out hunting or freshwater fishing, I keep an eye (and an ear and a nose) out for signs of BF. Only thing I’ve gotten so far is a knock. When I heard it I picked up a rock and bashed a tree with it a couple of times–no answer. I checked around and now know of a local spot where there was a sighting some years ago. So I’m taking my son out there camping once the weather warms up. I’m not a “researcher” yet, more of a beginner in the BF culture. It’s fascinating stuff, and I’m inclined to be a believer, just given the sheer number of sightings. ALL these thousands of people can’t be hallucinating or hoaxing. For one thing, many of the footprints are found way back in he woods in remote places. A hoaxer would have to bushwhack miles off the trails and then hope someone would come by and find the prints. Not likely–a hoaxer would put the tracks where they have a decent chance of being found.

Best of luck to all the searchers–it’s a great hobby if nothing else. It doesn’t hurt anyone and who knows? Someone might make the discovery of solid scientific evidence any day. Peace, brothers and sisters, peace.

    • Joyce N

Jeff, How old is your son. That may not be a good idea-if you get flanked or the get too close that could put him in real danger It sounds like in most cases, it’s hard enough to get yourself out of harm’s way with these things without having a youngster with you. Think it over. Most of these grown men have been traumatized by their encounters. I don’t know if it’s worth the risk of possibly traumatizing your son. Just a thought.

      • Jeffrey C

You know, Joyce, you could be right. He’s 12. I’ve had a couple of people who have spent quite a bit of time at this encourage me to take him along, since the BF’s apparently like kids. Although possibly they like them for lunch. I think I’ll compromise; take him in daylight and do the nighttime stuff with a hunting buddy. I’ll be armed in any case and have quite a bit of background with combat. Nevertheless, thanks for drawing it to my attention–it might have backfired.

        • Dave T

Jeffery C, you’re doing the right thing taking your son out in the woods and teaching him there’s things out there that aren’t suppose to be there. He needs to be taught to be aware and cautious of them. Hunting is still a very safe bet as something to do with your son. These creatures recognize guns and hunters and usually avoid them. Camping at night is where you’re more likely to have them come closer and a possible encounter. Good luck and stay safe.

          • Jeffrey C

Thanks Dave–yes, I take my boys out fishing, and the older one hunting (my little guy is only four, but he’s hell on sunfish and the like 🙂 The older one can shoot–he has an amazingly good eye for a kid, and I’ve worked to teach him proper gun safety and marksmanship. He’s accounted for a number of rabbits and squirrels and this coming fall I will take him for pheasants. Thanks also for the heads-up on the BF sensing the presence of guns. I’ve heard that before, and I’m not sure yet what I will do regarding it. I don’t pretend to be a superman who can take on a BF unarmed. Heck, I have a permit and carry every day just for the more mundane bipedal threats 🙂 On the one hand, I’d really like to hear a BF whoop, but on the other hand I’m sure I’ll wish I was armed when I do, lol.

  27. Synbios

The Charlie poster probably wouldn’t be reading the asskicking posts he/she is getting but I do understand the concern about the almost Homogenisation of lots of bigfoot stories. They can almost seem abit like a tick box “I felt like I was being watched. It smells like a wet dog and sewage. It looks like it has Down syndrome. I couldn’t believe the size of its shoulders. Growls so loud is shook my insides. Stunned that I couldn’t move” but at the end of the day this can go both ways. It can be proof that there is a look, smell and behaviour to the Sasquatch.

Ok so its easy to make a fibs about a bigfoot story but I really doubt this guest has. He does bring alot more to the table than the sentence Charlie quoted.

    • Wes

I apologize to Charlie….I think my reply came across wrong. I was by no means giving him a hard time. I was joking about the 10min upload. If Charlie took offense I will be first to apologize.

      • Joyce N

I apologize as well. We’ve had a rash of bad behavior from some members to guests and I jumped Charlie pretty hard,. Sorry, Charlie. I just wish people would ease up on the complaining. Wes works full time, has a family and is dedicated to this podcast. Some of the remarks made about the guests have been flat out rude. The guests often have a hard enough time mustering up the cahones to come on the show and tell their accounts without being called a liar. That goes against the grain of why Wes & Woody created this podcast. It was to give people who had encounters a place to get it off their chest without being bullied or called crazy or a liar. You don’t have to believe everything you hear, but please have the decency to respect what Wes is trying to do here. Respect the guests. Respect and trust Wes’ judgment-he pre-screens them, if he thought a guest wasn’t on the up and up-That guest wouldn’t be on. It can’t be easy for Wes. A lot of time is taken to produce these shows-Time that he misses with his kids. He’s coming in here sick as a dog . The LEAST we can do is be polite.

      • Jacqueline O

Wes, THANK YOU for all your hard work, dedicating time and money to such a controversial subject, and representing our community in the definition of a true leader…providing powerful, positive influence and inspiring confidence in a humble and gracious manner. Members need to join together, despite out differences, and set an example for everyone involved, particularly new members.

      • Jeffrey C

Yup, I’m new, but FWIW I do appreciate your podcast Wes–I discovered it on Stitcher radio last October and have been listening ever since. You know, one of the reasons I came back after first finding it was your ending theme music. I fell asleep listening to it and it haunted me all the next day. Finally I found it was Pompeya, a band I didn’t know. Still looking for the complete lyrics lol.

        • Lise B

Its funny you mentioned the lyrics…. I too looked for them with no luck.
Some words I’m not sure of. I would miss it if was taken out even though I may not always listen to it. LOL!

      • Jacqueline O

BTW, I noticed a certain individual, code name “Mike Alpha Tango Tango Papa”, is no longer in the forum…comments vanished by whom or what I do not know? Has the problem been corrected? Or, will we make a united effort to ignore the detritivors?

      • Adam Stewart

Im not sorry. He wants to insult the folks who lived the nightmare and relive it for people like us and him who wanna learn.
WES, I LOVE YOU & ALL Your FANS… BUT,.. Charlie is needlessly hating. He needs a Glory hole hunt

        • Joyce N

yeah, Adam, that’s true but sometimes we just need to be the bigger person and ignore what people who don’t get it have to say. you’re always going to have critics-that’s just life. although it would be easier if Wes would just install an ignore button, then you don’t have to deal with the same 3 or 4 people who like to rag on the show. (hint, hint, Wes) have a great day,Adam

  28. Gene P

The guest talked about a Bigfoot eating a lot of wild life food out of an old tire set up for feeding the local wildlife. Apparently the Bigfoot replaced the feed with rocks.
Why do you think this happened? I’m trying to figure this out. It’s a great insight into Bigfoot behavior. We need to get inside their heads.
Is this emotion? Did it feel guilty?
Nothing in the animal kingdom would do such a thing, right?
Do they trade with each other? Was the Bigfoot grateful and giving a gift back?
I’m not so sure they are horrible man eating monsters.
Does anyone think another intelligent race could have created Bigfoot’s.

  29. Doug S

Focusing on the show…I would bet if Wes posed his question to Coonbo or Bear, regarding the reaching out and touching the hunter’s light cord…I bet they would say that the BF was “counting coupe” as the Native Americans would do. What do y’all think?

    • Gene P

Yes Doug, why else would a bf do such a thing? I assume they can outsmart us every way possible when it comes to hiding and maneuvering threw the forest.

  30. Matt f

Hey Wes great show man . I can’t believe after you told these bloggers to be nice and they just go off again. I wish we could get rid of some of these negative Nancy’s. I believe in all your callers . Why would they bother calling in. Some people just have no clue like that jerk charlieB . Get off the show Charlie this show is not for you no body wants to here you talk .

I believe in Sasquatch . I read a post that said the fellow did not believe most of the stories on here . I believe but am sometimes skeptical of stories and this is not one of them . You have to keep your skepticals on though . Think of it two ways either it’s true or not . Put yourself in the account tellers shoes and try to wrap your mind around every aspect of the account , including having come on the show told your account that just happened and your still reeling from it . Your friend is traumatized and then some skeptic blogs a mouth full of ignorant mush saying your throwing around buzz words like Down syndrome . At the very least it’s a damn good campfire story if it were a tall tale. ( about 8-9 ft ) I perceived it as true and an excellent account telling . I take people at face value on this show and am glad that they share they’re experiences . Where else can they do that . People need to show respect for these people . I find it somewhat hard to believe that someone would not believe this account . There is no doubt in my mind it is a true event . This fellow and his friends hunt coon at night in the forest in an area with activity . HELLO naysayer he’s probably gonna call up with another account soon cause he’s out there at night in the Sasquatch living room huntin coon . Excellent account that rings true to me in every way possible . Thanks Wes and Guest ! That was amazing and I loved it . Way to keep your cool out there you were in imminent danger had the Booger been more than curious .

Wes, I have listened to your show from the start. It is a great show. You and your peeps have done an amazing job keeping it simple and straight to the point. I am glad to see you calling out the B. S. it needs to be done. Thank you for all of your hard work.

I want someone to explain to me what is wrong with complaining, disagreeing, or just not seeing it your way. I have the RIGHT to express myself any way I want and not be silenced. How would you like it if you post a comment on Yelp for some new restaurant and the owner deletes all the bad comments but keeps the good ones.
I have heard Wes call people flute players. What are flute players? People who sing and dance with sasquatch in peace and harmony while the rest of us just want to kill sasquatch because we just don’t understand them? This SC comments section is beginning to sound the same, with some saying angry people need to leave, this is a sanctuary for people who’ve had an encounter with sasquatch so be sympathetic and respectful. Last time I checked a podcast was a business not some cult, club, or therapeutic outreach.
My comment good or bad will be heard. I try not to insult people but seems like people here get butt hurt really easy. We’re all adults so deal with it. This is exactly what I mean when I say maybe these are the flute players, thinking we live in a perfect world with only nice
comments. I love Sasquatch Chronicles for the stories and will continue to listen unless Wes doesn’t want my money, then let me know.

Martin, you’re right! We ALL should be able to voice our own opinions and agree to disagree. Poor Charlie…he made a comment WITHOUT using vulgarity or blatantly rude accusations, and then got attacked by the community. I actually made this very point in my earlier post…”we the Hated have become the Haters”. IMO, I think this attack on Charlie is the result of the community’s misdirected, hostile energy that resulted from an accumulation of several “pseudo-trolls” prowling the forums/episodes. There was one particular individual who seemed to be incapable of understanding normal, appropriate behavior. Whether he/she is still around lurking in the depths, I do not know?

Wes apologized, as did others. We, as humans, are creatures of habit and posess the innate urge to flock together, whether it be for good or ill will (I know you already know this). I think we tipped the scale just a little too far and hopefully we will all live and learn…

The first thought I had when Wes mentioned taking a trip to Kentucky was…. Mamouth Cave. All I have to say is it’s about time! Good show and glad to see some encounter stories come out of Kentucky. Thanks to all who make it happen.

(in fact I don’t believe most of the stories anymore) <– Charlie, that was too much of a generalization and makes it difficult for others who need or want to come forward and report encounters.

Wes, I'm pretty sure you have more episodes than Honobia which mentioned Down Syndrome appearances. I could be wrong because I listen to so many different stories from time to time, but it most certainly is out there for anyone to find who is researching the subject.

Dan, I wish I were closer and more of an active hunter. Seems like the simple act of accepting these things to be real, opens our eyes to so much around us. Truth be told, our own “human nature” and hubris, seems to be a big part of what keeps these critters unrecognized.

My grandad lost a couple dogs down in Southern Ohio, out coon hunting back around 1950. They were all upset about it and the horrible screams they heard, but still tried to pin it on a cougar even though there were no claw or tooth marks and the dogs had been crushed.

Hey Wes…seems like we need a term for this mental condition. When someone refuses to accept evidence all around them, simply because it’s mentally easier and more comforting to do so.

Extra hominid denial. EHD. Lol. Whatever…but would be nice to have a psychologist on sometime. (Ideally one that knows these creatures exist, so they don’t waste half the show trying to explain to witnesses that they are confused in order to continue that psychologist’s own EHD.)

I recall a psychologist who’s family ran into one out your way back in the early 2000’s Wes. Think they were just out on a day hike and the story made national news, mostly due to his profession I’m sure.

Or find a psych who’s at least willing to work it through as a thought experiment. There are too many people like Dan’s buddy out there who simply don’t have the language, time or support to work it through and end up isolated and suffering.

Prayers for your friend Dan…and let him know we know what he saw…and it’s a natural event and we’re here for him to talk to. The deny’ers and attackers do so out of fear and ignorance. Ignore them and talk to those who know. Tell him we’re here and all over the world in fact.

Whether Gods, aliens and man have meddled with these animals over time is mentally speaking, a side issue, though clearly our government in the last 50-60 years seems to now have “skin” in the game for sure. But still…in the end they are creatures like any other.

Good luck to ya Dan and good hunting. Maybe get ya one of those nice green LED strobes as well as an open minded hunting partner! =)

May 2017: any chance you’re stil out there and checking up on the comments here Dan? It was great to listen to this episode again. And I sure would love to hear what’s been your experience since and what became of Daniel and things between you two. This was such a gripping episode. Regardless, wishing you well Sir.
