SC EP:1099 The Hood Canal Creature

Sid writes “I’ve been wanting to tell you about an encounter I had when I was in 5th grade (1977). I grew up on Hood canal and one night while walking home from my friend’s house, I noticed what I thought was a bush on the side of the road in front of a vacant lot that was filled with small alder trees. I stopped and thought to myself there was never a huck bush there before why is there one there now. I had stopped in the middle of road about 30 to 40 feet away from the “bush”.

I was about to take a step towards the “bush” when it stood up and turned and just blasted through the alders on the vacant lot. I instantly started running as fast as my 5th grade legs could carry me toward my house. As I was running away, I could hear this thing crashing through the huck brush etc. going over the hill.

The next day I got up and went back up the road to the vacant lot and there was a path through the alders some were bent over and some were broke off. I looked around on the ground and there were some deep impression in the ground but no discernable foot prints. I impressions were about 6 to 7 feet apart. the path of bend and broken trees went from the vacant lot and down over the hill into the heavy huck brush which was all bent over and some was broken off too.

My friend’s dad who was a Captain in the Navy told me about 25 years later that he had seen a Bigfoot twice once he saw it standing behind his boat at the back of his garage one morning and the second time he said he was driving to go down the hill and saw one by the logging road that went back into the Simpson property where I use to go pick berries with my grandma and play. His encounters were in the early 2000’s.

I remember when I was really young my grandparents lived at the other end of the road from and my grandma(She was from the Ozarks) would take me out huckleberry and blackberry picking which was just outside of our subdivision on Simpson Lumber land. My grandma would tell me to stick close because she didn’t want a booger to get me. She would always have her head on a swivel while we were picking berries, at one point one day she grabbed my hand and we just hustled out of the woods. She never told me why we left so quick especially after we had just started picking berries.

When I was older I would go out into the woods and play. I would take my BB gun or my recurve bow and just shoot a random stuff you know stumps fir cones etc. One time I felt like someone was watching me so I stopped and looked around, as you know the huck brush can get really tall. I’m not sure but I swear I saw a head above the huck brush. It didn’t register with me until I swept my view back and the head looking silhouette was gone.

I live in Kentucky now and two of my neighbors have seen Bigfoot tracks and had rocks thrown at their barn when they would be in the barn working on farm equipment. He actually had a picture of the Bigfoot looking at him from the tree line above the barn.

Since I have lived here I have had acorns thrown at me while hunting and the closest oak tree is at least 100 to 150 yds away.”

Great episode Wes. I wondered if the grandmother was his father’s mother. That may make sense of why his Dad was so agains the subject. Maybe he had an encounter of his own and was just terrified of it. Of course it could be his Mom’s mother.

I’m often struck by the number of people who have numerous encounters in numerous places. That seems very odd to me since these are supposed to be rare, elusive creatures. I think something else is up.

I think they tag people like many old tails of the Fae or (fairy folk) doing the same thing. I think in old times people called them the Fae bc they didn’t have the term Sasquatch yet. I have many books on the subject and everyone of them I have read talk about offerings and getting tagged. People leave apples, etc. multiple encounters, vanishing into thin air. There is one particular book that even talks about the fae as turning into orbs of light that bounce up and down and some fae folk to be large and hairy. I think these things are ancient.

I believe these being are flesh and blood, however they are something else as well. Just because they are a living being does not mean they couldn’t be interdimensional as well. In my decades in this topic this is where I’ve found myself. If a 9’ animal was roaming around North America it would have been in a zoo and textbooks a long time ago. Once you accept these beings are real, and if you have an open mind, this is where it leads

Believe us! The Yowie exists here in Australia. As the crow flies from where i live a man witnessed a yowie taking his dog. Numerous sightings in our region of 7 to 8 foot hairy men. They are certainly here in Australia 🇦🇺

dude was all over the place, story not credible… he lost me when he said the captain was an O6. He claimed he was military too, no way you called a captain an O6

    • Sid V

A Captain in the Navy is an O-6 look it up. I joined the USAF in 1985 and got out after 14 yrs. I was in SAC, TAC and ACC. I was in operation Just Cause with the 69th FS and in Desert Shield/Storm with the 347th FW. I served at Get 2 1CEVG Holbrook, AZ, at 347th FW 68th, 69th and 70th FS’s, I was detailed to Hahn AB & Ramstein AB in Germany, I pulled two tours at Kunsan AB ROK. Any other questions Luis?

What does Luis S know anyway ?
hater ! He obviously has nothing else to do, except bash on other people. Probably because he has never had an encounter himself. we will be praying for you Luis S …..

Scary right? Sasquash hunt with acorns…..and don’t hut us, people hurt everything that looks at us cross eyed. If you are scared= if you imagine Sasquash might know where you live they are shot. Wish people would think about not harming them, wave, and leave.
Ran away and Sasquash didn’t chase. They do not have the run-chase reflex that predators do. Maybe not a predator of humans, dah.
When did women serve on the line? I believe not before the Wall came down. Curious.
      Glad no shooting! Thanks!
You are a kin to the great apes. Something to be proud of. Could have been a banana slug under a redwood in Santa Cruz. There are no better creatures than others. And man has wiped out so many- for what? Trophy’s to feed egos. It’s nicer to be humble.
Show tonight had a few gifs but interesting tale. Thanks!

I agree with Eric’s comment. You will have more encounters now that they know you. Really enjoyed your encounter. Xlnt recall. love all the juicy details.
please keep us posted as things progress. hang in there. and of course, thank you for you service.

Thanks Sid. Seeing is believing. Seeing more widens your perspective.

People like to say “undiscovered species” quite a bit. To put things in perspective, the first gorilla skull was discovered in 1847 in the thick jungles of Africa with little to no human population. Within 10 years there were several expeditions underway to repeatedly see these animals that were dubbed “like monsters”. Meep in mind this is roughly 45 years before the first car was even invented, so no roads either. Just you and a machete and a backpack… Zero technology.

As far as I know there weren’t any reports of the animal or any tribe of undiscovered peoples that simply vanished before a witness’s eyes, disappeared in a ball of light, was there one second and the next not, had self illuminating eyes, throwing objects with high accuracy at you without being seen, followed people without being seen and only heard, appeared from a tree much smaller than its own body size, mindspeaks, leaves no trace of the tons and tons of animal carcasses it would leave behind (which you would need to support a creature of that size) or if herbivore no regular evidence to support completely wiping out berry patches, orchards, select plant life and the like… Not a person or animal you can (at will) outwit into getting caught in a feeding area, travel route or on any kind of camera, and not one you can find it’s bedroom or where it prefers to hold up.

Opposed to now with Sasquatch in areas very much populated, traveled, hunted and constantly or repeatedly explored, with all our knowledge of nature and all our surveillance and technology, with night vision, cameras and video recorders in our pocket (sometimes at the ready) we’re not any closer to figuring anything out for many decades… Seriously?

Does anyone realize how ridiculous it sounds to witnesses who have actually seen more than “flesh and blood” to this phenomena and how something more we are unwilling to wrap our heads around makes much more sense?..And then have to listen to others still at square one still trying to figure out 2+2 basic math for decades and still not get it? To top it off disregard the brave people coming forward with more to lose than gain, willing to look like outcasts to the general population or alienated by friends and family just to share their truth? I swear people’s common sense, intuition and compassion is going extinct… Prove me wrong, please prove me wrong. 🙏🏼

    • Ron S

I don’t want to hear this ocean philosophy of undiscovered creatures either. If we all had submarines instead of cars and planes, regularly walked on the ocean floor, built our houses and buildings there and were able to withstand its pressure, see in its available light and without effort breath underwater. We’d know a lot more about it than we do now.

We lack depth of knowledge about the ocean because we don’t frequently go to its depths. The mysteries on dry land are still mysteries for the same reasons… We aren’t going deep enough.
You can only find so much at the shallow end of the pool with shallow thinking.

      God bless all

Thanks for your stories, Sid. They are fascinating and well told, and, like most told on this channel, all too credible.

What struck me with this one is how kids–kids–are left holding such disturbing experiences inside themselves for fear of ridicule or punishment, or outright abandonment in the moment of their confession (the damage to adults is no less, but with kids its that much more poignant). This is thanks to our society’s denialism, which is nimble enough to be applied to many topics, ‘cryptids’ among them–and, I believe, comes from the top because it suits those at ‘the top’. A denialist society is a fear-based, passive-aggressive society–and both fear, denial, passivity and aggression (all part of one process that might be called the Cycle of Suffering) create a lot of life damage, and psychological damage.
