I will be speaking to a hunter from Oregon who had an encounter where he heard a Sasquatch tearing up the woods around him. This being his hunting spot, he continued to return every year for the hunt. He started realizing that he might be pushing his luck with his curiosity and the encounters escalated. I will be posting this show for members. It will be up on the website tomorrow night at 6pm PST.

In an unforgettable experience, two young teens from the village of Tuntutuliak have reported seeing the mysterious Hairy Man creature in the outskirts of their village. The girls, both aged 14, were walking to the “Boys’ Pond” where the brother of one of the girls was swimming with a friend. The boys had biked over to the kids’ swimming hole.

It was June 20th, 2014 around 10pm. Nellieann Smith was one of the girls. After she and her friend checked on the boys, they started walking back towards home on the old airstrip. That’s when they saw it, said Nellieann. Her friend saw it first, she said.

“I thought it was my brother’s best friend,” said Nellieann. So she hollered “Hey!” to him.

z0The creature looked at them. It was tall, big, dark and hairy. The chest area was greyish. They looked at it for approximately 10 seconds, then it walked into the woods in a few very large strides. The sight of the creature frightened the girls and they ran home to warn others about what they had seen.

When Nellieann ran into the house, her mother Elsie was expecting the usual cheerful “Hi Mom!” greeting from her, but not this time. She loudly said “MOM!”

Elsie asked what?

“Hairy Man-amek tangertua! I saw Hairy Man!” she said and told her it was at the Old Airport.

Alarmed, Elsie immediately telephoned the local Tribal Police Officer to ask them to check on the two boys who were out swimming at the Boys’ Pond. She told them that the girls saw a Hairy Man creature at the Old Airport and that it would be good if the police could do a patrol of the area right away.

The TPO, a lady police officer, then went and checked on the boys, but they appeared to be fine. Then she came back to the village and asked Elsie if she could pick up Nellieann and her friend and have them show her exactly where they saw the creature. That’s when they found the droppings right there in the middle of the old airstrip. They also found large footprints, and hair left behind by the creature.

The hair was very dark, black and soft. It had a certain scent to it, said Elsie. It was found right in the area where the girls had seen the creature walk into the trees. Elsie took the hair sample. The droppings were also collected.

Nellieann’s mother Elsie asked that the hair samples be given to Bigfoot experts to determine their origin, if possible.

As for the two boys who were swimming, they were clueless about what Nellieann and her friend had seen. Nellieann said that she is leery of returning to the Old Airport area and cannot help feeling a little afraid. She said no one else reported any sightings after their experience.

The Patterson–Gimlin film is a famous short motion picture of an unidentified subject the film makers purported to be a “Bigfoot”, that was supposedly filmed on October 20, 1967, by Roger Patterson and Robert “Bob” Gimlin  on Bluff Creek, a tributary of the Klamath River about 25 road miles north-west of Orleans, California. The film has been subjected to many attempts both to debunk and authenticate it.

Both Patterson and Gimlin have always insisted they encountered and filmed a real Bigfoot, not a man in a costume. Patterson died of cancer in 1972. Patterson’s friend, Gimlin, has always denied being involved in any part of a hoax with Patterson. Gimlin mostly avoided publicly discussing the subject from at least the early 1970s until about 2003. Tonight we will discuss the events around the film and what lead up to the famous encounter.

Witness Observed:

cross1I was delivering grain to a farm on Hwy 60, but to get to the farm, had to turn south off 60 onto Emerson Rd. to get to unload in the area. Right after turning off 60, I usually stop and turn on trailer backup lights and remove tailgate turnbuckles so I can see to back up at farm. On this morning, as I was walking to the back of the trailer, I heard a lot of noise, snapping limbs, sounds like something was pacing back and forth, in the patch of woods on the east side of road. As I got to the back of the trailer, I suddenly had the smell of a dead animal, strong, coming from the deep ditch on the west (field) side of the road.

This road had one little property light up by the intersection, otherwise it was dark except for the small amount of light from the tractor and trailer backup flood lights. Suddenly I’m struck with fear. Now, I’m six foot 230lbs and don’t scare easily, and cant explain the feeling that came on me. The noise in the woods was intensifying, getting louder, almost impatient, while the smell got more intense and I felt like there was something in the ditch staring at me. I was overwhelmed by the feeling of fear and ran back to the cab, took off into the farm and unloaded. I got out after unloading, this is just on the south side of the patch of woods and couldn’t hear or smell anything and the feeling was gone.

ALSO NOTICED: Creepy feeling, suddenly scared, felt observed. Smell of dead animal coming from deep ditch on west side of road. Thrashing and almost pacing back and forth in wooded area on east side of road.

This picture has been coming up on Facebook recently and my first impression was it was nothing more then a guy with a hood on. ParaBreakdown does a great commentary on why this picture has resurfaced.

Socalbigfoot Encounters Saldana posted this to the “Sasquatch Chronicles Fans!” page on Facebook. Mike recalls his frightening bigfoot encounter in Louisiana. All credits for this video goes to Sasquatch Central! I have always loved this encounter story.

On Sunday I sit down with Bob Gimlin.

The Patterson–Gimlin film (also referred to as simply the Patterson film) is a famous short motion picture of an unidentified subject the film makers purported to be a “Bigfoot”, that was supposedly filmed on October 20, 1967, by Roger Patterson (February 14, 1933 – January 15, 1972) and Robert “Bob” Gimlin (born October 18, 1931) on Bluff Creek, a tributary of the Klamath River about 25 road miles north-west of Orleans, California. The film has been subjected to many attempts both to debunk and authenticate it. Some scientists who have studied the film have judged it to be a hoax with a man in an ape suit. Other scientists, such as Jeffrey Meldrum, have done studies (which claim to be scientific) concluding that the alleged creature is likely to be non-human.

Both Patterson and Gimlin have always insisted they encountered and filmed a real Bigfoot, not a man in a costume. Patterson died of cancer in 1972. Patterson’s friend, Gimlin, has always denied being involved in any part of a hoax with Patterson. Gimlin mostly avoided publicly discussing the subject from at least the early 1970s until about 2000 (save for an appearance on Arthur C. Clarke’s Mysterious World in 1980, and an appearance at the 1978 UBC Conference) when he began giving interviews and making appearances at Bigfoot conferences.

You will not want to miss this one. The newest show is posted for members in the podcast section. I spoke with Joe who had an encounter in Texas. He was riding down a trail on his dirt bike when he ran out of gas. What happened next is probably one of the best encounters I have ever heard. Joe describes the creature in full detail and watching it vocalize at him (scream). Listen as Joe goes into detail about the behavior of the creature and the description he gives. If you have had an encounter and would like to be on the show email me at wes@sasquatchchronicles.com

Casey sent this to me and I found it interesting how native different tribes gave these creatures names and how you can look at the translation of the names. Do you think the native people came up with a name as a way of describing the creatures behavior or perceived behavior?

FOUKE, AR- It’s a creature with many names, Bigfoot, Sasquatch, and most notably known to people in Fouke, Arkansas, the Fouke Monster. For years, many of you have questioned the ape-like humanoid’s existence. Is Bigfoot really out there? FOX16’s Susanne Brunner explores just that following a report she covered in November. Her story about an unusual rare doe with antlers killed in the deer woods of Ida in Cleburne County also brought out an unusual sighting. Sasquatch hunters say they’ve possibly spotted Bigfoot in the news story. So Susanne brought the picture to experts in Fouke.

Fouke, a small town with a big legend, is located in the heart of Southwest Arkansas. Almost everyone you bump into has seen, or heard about the Fouke Monster.

“The size, the cone-shaped of the head, the black eyes,” says William Lundsford, Bigfoot Researcher.

“Goooooonnnnnngggg. And that’s the way it sounds,” says Tom Zorn, Bigfoot Researcher.

Sightings of the ape-like creature around Fouke date back to 1908. Eyewitnesses describe it six to nine feet tall, up to 400 pounds with brownish red or black hair and unusually long arms. We’re told there is more than one Bigfoot and they travel in groups. Most sightings occur in the dense woods and along waters that lead to Boggy Creek. This is where William Lundsford would have his first encounter with the hairy beast nearly 40 years ago.

“He began to stand up and he lifted this branch and he kept standing and kept standing and he kept standing. And I immediately just freeze,” recalls Lundsford.

A 17-year-old Lundsford was fishing, when he spotted Bigfoot 45 yards away squatting by a tree.

“I can’t hardly breathe. There’s tears that are streaming down my face and I’ve actually wet my pants,” he says.

The encounter, now a continuous video loop. The emotion from that April day, still fresh.

“I can see everything just as it happened, I can feel everything. It’s been so many years ago, but it’s so effected my life,” says Lundsford.

He’s not alone. Many people in Fouke have had similar encounters. Their stories of Bigfoot spread quickly across the U.S. Soon, directors translated those stories on film and in books. Eventually the legendary beast made a name of its own in Fouke. You can find movie posters, books, newspaper clippings and memorabilia inside the town’s museum. Another story recorded, was Heather Owen’s.

“Right here, I slammed on my breaks and it was probably from me to you,” says Heather Owen, had encounter with Bigfoot.

In 2011, Owen was driving down Williams Road in the dead of the night. In an open field behind a bale of hay, Owen says Bigfoot stood up.

“All this was was smashed down, along with the fence!” she recalls.

Whether it’s a smashed down fence, or a hand and footprint cast, Wayne Combs isn’t buying it, “I’m skeptic. Seeing is believing I guess. The only thing that I can believe in that I don’t see is God.”

The 78-year-old, born and raised in Fouke, has hunted and fished Boggy Creek for years without finding a trace.

“He must be a magician or he can fly because where’s all the tracks?” says Combs.

Even if there were footprints, another skeptic says it’s not enough.

“If we could just have one strand of hair or one drop of blood,” says Daryl Powell, Skeptic. “You know we found bones from dinosaurs from thousands of years ago, but we can’t find one set of bones from Bigfoot.”

“He don’t like cameras. I haven’t found a picture yet and I’ve got cameras myself,” says Combs.

No one in Fouke has been able to capture a photo of the ape-like humanoid, there are only sketches of the beast from memory.

“You’re not going to capture one,” says Tom Zorn, Bigfoot Researcher.

“Oh they’re extremely fast,” says Lundsford.

However, FOX16 may have uncovered something. A Bigfoot researcher took this screen shot image of a possible Bigfoot sighted in my news story in November. We asked people what they thought about it.

“That is very much the body shape of the Bigfoot that I saw,” says Lundsford.

“Yeah, possibly!” says Owen.

“The possibility is there,” Zorn reacts.

And then there’s another image, a baby Bigfoot attached to the arm.

I think it’s pretty doggone close,” says Lundsford.

Those who have seen and believe are now avid researchers, regularly scouting the woods and the creek, tracking prints and hoping to prove its existence. Many now garner a collection, a piece of the puzzle, they hope can eventually solve this peculiar and legendary mystery.

“I feel like I’ve truly seen quote the 8th wonder of the world and seen something that does exist that isn’t supposed to exist,” says Lundsford.

For now, its existence will continue to lie in secrecy, among the murky woods and waters in Fouke.

I want to thank Donna for sending this to me. I think it is important to keep an eye on these missing people as part of the mystery around Sasquatch.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Authorities are investigating human remains discovered along an Alaska trail less than 2 miles from the home of a missing family of four, including two young children.

The remains might be connected to the disappearance last May of Rebecca Adams, 23; her boyfriend, Brandon Jividen, 38; and her children, Michelle Hundley, 6, and Jaracca Hundley, 3, Kenai police said Sunday.

Police, with help from the FBI, led a massive search when the family went missing, but it failed to uncover any clues.

At the time, relatives said it appeared the family had left without packing. Their two vehicles were parked outside their apartment and their rent for June had not been paid.

A person driving down a west Kenai trail spotted clothing and what appeared to be human remains Saturday, police said in a statement.

Responding officers found remains and items reported missing from the family’s home. The four were last seen May 27. The family dog also disappeared.

Police said it would take time to positively identify the remains and complete the investigation.

FBI officials Sunday were traveling to Kenai. The department plans a briefing on the case at noon on Monday.

Kenai is a city of 7,100 about 65 miles southwest of Anchorage at the mouth of the Kenai River, Alaska’s most popular sport fishing attraction.

SMETHPORT — Just over one week after The Era published a story and photo of fresh, large and strange footprints appearing in the snow at a property in Keating Township, a group of McKean County residents shared their stories and pictures of a possible Bigfoot presence with two representatives from a Bigfoot investigative organization on Saturday afternoon.

For more than 400 years, people have reported seeing large, hairy, man-like creatures in North America. Those reports continue today, with many coming from credible persons. Still, there are many skeptics. That many people attribute the stories to hoaxes, wishful thinking or misidentification with other animals has led to widespread disbelief about the creatures’ existence.

The meeting, at the Dr. Kent Smith residence on East Valley Road, where the large and strange footprints were discovered, lasted over an hour and a-half.

On March 13, David Inman, a Portville, N.Y. carpenter who has worked on various projects for the Smiths, showed the footprints’ route that were clearly visible for hundreds of feet between a wooded area near Potato Creek and an open field across East Valley Road. At some places, the tracks were found within several feet of the Smiths’ home. The tracks measured 16 inches in width and 20 inches in length, and were found nine feet apart.

During the meeting, the investigators, Ron and Mark, recorded the personal stories and asked detailed questions after each presentation.

The first speaker related an experience he had on Jan. 30. He had just brought his daughter home from dance lessons and was shoveling snow for neighbors.

“As I cleared snow, something caught my eye, something I can’t explain,” said this teacher. “The footprints, which were found only at the top and bottom of the steps, were about a foot long and five toes were visible. I know what I saw.”

In a conversation with the teacher, the husband and wife indicated that they didn’t have snowshoes and had never seen the tracks.

Another speaker, who lives in a development, recalled an incident from last winter when he found mysterious footprints that were 13 inches long, 12 inches wide, with a seven-foot span. “What makes prints that large?” he asked.

This man’s wife spoke about several episodes. In one case three years ago, she found small footprints on their property. Then, last spring, four prints with the same shapes, only larger, were found on their land.

This woman referred to an incident that happened over night when, for the first time, she didn’t roll up her car windows.

“Something got in and out of the car and left four fingerprints, larger than mine, in the dew on a door’s exterior,” she said. “In addition, I found one of our cats in the car, but another cat was gone. Three cats were missing that month.”

In his comments, Inman said, “I was never a believer in Bigfoot, but those footprints on the Smiths’ property were very consistent. I started wondering, ‘What kind of animal can do that?’”

It was Inman’s report about the original footprints that led to the investigators’ visit to the property and the subsequent meeting with the area residents.

Ron commented on the hair samples that Inman collected from freshly broken branches in a thicket last week shortly after the original tracks were discovered. After a cursory examination of the hairs, Ron said, “I don’t know if they’re from a Bigfoot. They’re not as coarse as Sasquatch hairs, but it’s probably not worth having a DNA analysis done on them because that’s an expensive procedure.”

At the same time, Ron said there could still be other hairs in the area where these were found.

Yet another speaker, who identified himself as “not a Bigfoot believer,” recalled the times in his youth when his father, who had a lease in the area, warned the children to be aware of the “Man on the Mountain.”

“We didn’t believe this story at the time,” the man said. “Then one night, when we were sitting around a bonfire near Coryville, we heard a scream like nothing we had ever heard.”

This man mentioned another occurrence, one from three years ago. “I looked out the window at the shed near the creek when I caught sight of the hind quarter of a creature that had walked behind a shed that was eight feet tall. For an instant, I saw the head extending above the roof.”

A 26-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Ron said that while he has never seen a Bigfoot, he has nevertheless heard the loud distinctive howling sounds often associated with this elusive creature.

On one investigation between 9 p.m. and 2 a.m., Ron said, his group had heard wood knocks, the action of hitting two pieces of wood together with the objective of a Bigfoot returning that or any other sound. He said, “We had been in the woods for about an hour when we heard a distinctive scream and then a wood knock. We were positive that no one had followed us into the woods and it was not a trick.”

Ron said that he will make a report of Saturday’s meeting.

“It’ll include what we found but no opinions,” he said.

After the meeting, Inman led Ron and Mark on a tour of the area where the footprints were found.

Tonight we speak to Mo who had a sighting while out hiking with his kids. The children were playing and Mo looked up to see a figure just outside of the treeline watching them. When the creature and Mo made eye contact the creature then backed up into the brush. Mo, terrified for their safety, quickly left the area with his kids. This day has haunted him since. Mo continues to look for the creature he saw that day. Since this event he has had another brief sighting and different events in the woods that have shaken him up.
