SC EP:1164 This thing made eye contact with me

A listener writes “I was working as an HVAC Tech but was still learning the ropes and was being introduced into what being on call was like- long story short a coworker picked me up one night and we went up towards northern western Massachusetts for a no heat call.

After spending some time in the basement with the hatchway doors open, my coworker went outside to use the bathroom and I followed him out to catch some fresh air and get something from the van. He goes out maybe 30/40 yards so the home owner doesn’t see so he’s pretty far from me. A few minutes pass by and as I’m sitting in the van (on my phone) I hear something walk up towards the van.

After this thing had come up to the van with be sitting in it for over 10 minutes, there was a crack in the back door of the van so it wasn’t open completely but you could see through about 3-4 inches. This thing made eye contact with me with 1 eye. Stood there for about 10-15 seconds and then blinked. After a few more seconds this thing took off incredibly fast after hearing some noise come from the open basement door.”

Wes, this is a fantastic interview!!! You can tell how honest he is with what he experienced. I came through the trades and there is a distinct way you’re expected to be, like having to put up with certain types of crude humor and be silent watch, listen and learn. His environment during his experience is spot on. Thank you for being such a FANTASTIC interviewer!!! You let him spill his heart out to you and you didn’t even interrupt him!!! You didn’t question his experience and you showed him such great respect. I appreciate that about you Wes! Don’t let anyone get you down about how you do your podcast. You are fantastic and so are your guests. Thank you Wes.

Wes Germer is the best interviewer. He knows exactly how to let the guest speak but also asks excellent questions. He makes everyone feel comfortable talking and I love how he doesn’t interrupt his guests. There used to be another host in the beginning of this show (not mentioning names) and he used to interrupt guests every few minutes and then turn it around and talk about himself and what an expert he is. It used to drive me crazy but they parted ways. I recently came across this person’s podcast and he is still doing the same thing! Lol. Wes is the absolute best of the best and has an innate ability and sense for how to interview people. I never miss shows and have listened to all the episodes at least twice.

Thx Wes..I’m late to the party but I made it.. really looking forward to hearing tonight’s episode…Mass is my old stomping grounds. Hi guys 👋👋. Hope you are all well and safe

I’ve been thinking about this for a while because I noticed it keeps coming up, tobacco. I hear encounters frequently where smoking is involved. Native Americans and First Nations leave tobacco for safe passage thru forests so these beings leave them alone. If you also remember Albert O., the big male took his tobacco snuff. I think they love tobacco

Thanks, Wes and to your guest, thank you for sharing. I have lived in the New England area all of my 69 years. Had a questionable visit in the White Mountains from a possible sasquatch when I was in my late teens with a large group of campers on a very rainy weekend just down the hill from a boulder field. All the scary things that you hear about in the 411 Missing reports from David Paulides. One of our party asked us in the morning if we felt the vibration on the ground and we all said we did not. He then said something ran its hand down the top of his tent. We laughed at him because we thought he was joking. We’ve lost touch and I wonder now that he may have been telling us the truth.

A very believable and well-described account – I wish him all the best as he continues to emotionally deal with his encounter. Thanks Wes and guest!

Love hearing sightings from my area. I’ve heard tree Knocks in whoops in southern Vt. Also found 16.5 inch prints. Scary sightings you had there buddy. Thanks for sharing it

    • Nick R

I’m in Brattleboro. I was kinda confused on where his sighting was. He mentioned mount snow Vt which is in Dover Vt. But the sighting was in mass?

I’m seeing a new trend in encounters where guests really play up how ‘emotionally effected’ they are by encounters. lots of forced stutters and sighs that come off as if they’re trying to sound scared while telling the story.
it’s usually followed by “sorry, it still effects me” or a “sorry, I haven’t told many people this.” to really drive it home in case the audience didn’t pick up on it.

that being said, I still love Wes’ show and look forward to episodes every week. just noticing.

  9. Ian L

    yes I’ve had 2 encounters.
Also, I’m sure Wes has a process to weed out liars and has been doing this for some time. he can also see them on camera and I cannot. So if Wes has them on the show, he must trust them and I way that heavily while listening.
I’m not saying their stories are fake, (although they could be) but some guests seem to dramatize them more recently and it effects the listeners perception that we’re getting just the truth.

I’m feeling frustrated at some of the SC members comments. It’s not necessary and let each individual listener decide for themselves. Kinda like the old saying if you don’t have anything NICE to say maybe keep it to yourself. Please and Thank you 🙏😊

Great show Wes, and great guest. I live in North Central Massachusetts and became interested in this topic when I was about ten years old and there was a sighting near my house. It was even reported to police and made the front page of the newspaper. I grew up on a street that was considered a dead end, but right in front of our driveway it turned into a dirt access road into DCR protected land that bordered the Wachusett Reservoir which was heavily wooded. Railroad tracks ran behind our house and beyond the railroad tracks there was a large swamp. Back in the 70’s there was no gate blocking cars from going down this dirt road which eventually takes you to intersect with Route 140/and the reservoir. People used to drive their cars down there to party and drink in the woods. The road was deeply rutted and often cars would get stuck down there and need to be towed out and inevitably we’d have someone knocking on the door asking my father to call a tow truck. One summer night a car full of young adults (not teenagers) were down there having a campfire and drinking beers and they claimed to have seen a very large and tall hairy wild man underneath one of the powerline towers (there’s large powerline cuts through the woods where they were) watching them. One of the girls screamed and it took off into the woods and they all jumped in the car and came flying up the road, came to our door and asked my father to call the police because they saw a huge hairy creature. The police came and went down there and looked around for a while but didn’t see anything. My father always said that they must have been smoking marijuana and were hallucinating but I think he told us kids that (I grew up with five brothers) because we lived in the woods and they didn’t want us to be scared to go down there. We used to walk down to the reservoir to fish all summer, there was also large tracts of wild blueberries that grew up there that we would go pick buckets full. In the winter we’d sled down there, snowmobile etc. , so I think my parents didn’t want this incident to scare us but I always thought that they saw something with how terrified they were. We get bears occasionally, in fact just last summer I had a bear come through my neighborhood but I’m on the other side of the reservoir now. In any case, I don’t think it was a bear because they were adamant that it was on two legs. Candace mentioned she may have had an experience in Bolton Massachusetts and West Boylston is a couple towns away in the Central part of the state. Most sightings are reported in the Bridgewater Triangle, or Western Massachusetts though there have been reports of sightings and footprints in Leominster State Forest.
Most people won’t even talk about the subject here much less report their encounter. Thank you to the guest for sharing it. I love hearing about encounters in New England and especially Massachusetts.

Thanks for you story Annette. I would bet hands down those young adults with all the drinking and laughter, got a Bigfoot that happened to be in the area interested in this group. And, of course, powerlines are an avenue for them. Back in the 2000s I got up in Massachusetts all over a few times, and for sure it is forested and rugged enough for populations of Bigfoot. In fact a hunteer gentleman has been making the rounds of interviews about his extraodinary experience in Western, MA. I had the pleasure of skiing at Wachusette Mountain back around 2003 in late March.

The “thud” is similar to a thud I experienced while camping. Just outside my tent. The night before we heard voices around the tent it was well after midnight very remote. Scratching on the tent both nights. My tent mate was freaking out. But as I lay there listening there was a HEAVY thud. Not quite like something dropped but it sounded like earth, a rock and heavy. I had an adrenaline rush. I ended up dozing off. The next morning I looked on the ground where the sound came from and found a sizable rock had been moved out of place. A large rock that was embedded in the earth for ages it looked like. It would’ve taken a lot of weight and strength to move it up out of place. When this person described his experience I related

    • Charles R

Wow, this is wild. What reason could it possibly have to want to move an embedded large and heavy rock. Show of strength perhaps. Scratching on the tent seems to be a common theme out in the wild, however.

  12. Charles R

So sorry Gabriel that this sighting has caused you a good amount of grief. Moving across state for a girl huh. Back in 1996 I left the bountifull sunshine and great winters, springs, and falls, of Palm Springs, Ca for a great lady in Ohio. Been married almost 30 years now. Luckily she is fascinated with Bigfoot and heard one make the Ohio Howl back in 2012 in Michigan. However I am a fanatic I guess.

    it’s good that Wes thinks he can predict these ‘creatures” behaviour;
I say too bad he doesn’t spend more time looking at himself a while- that’d leanen him.
    “why did I think demon?”
“well, Wes mentions it a lot really “
