I have heard a scream very similar, July 4th period of 201, appx 2am, in Iosco County, MI. It was only one but followed up in quick succession by a very loud owl imitation, then a very loud loon imitation ( all 3 separated by 50 to 100 yards ) and then a mile or so to the north of these came the Ohio Howl. It is such a shame that the recorder does such a terrible job of capturing what the ears hear. Otherwise I would think the internet would be inundated with fantastic recordings.

I think some of these recordings happen when you least expect them and you then are trying hard to grab your phone or whatever to record what you hear.

I have been critiqued many times about the quality of my recordings, and I’m like ‘dude, I was out taking a walk when this happened….I’m lucky that I got any.’ lol

Strange vocals captured

Gudrun Hrizuk writes “The vocal series in this clip was captured by one of my long duration recorders in the morning hours of June 26, 2016. They are some of many vocals that were recorded over the course of several hours in this particular location. The loud vocalizer and several of the other vocals may to some listeners sound like a rooster, but based on several factors and other recorded audio from this location, I do not believe that these were produced by an actual rooster.”

That’s creepy. I would love to see what these thing look like as they make these crazy sounds. According to Wes, it seems like sasquatch has two sets of vocal chords that work separate or in conjunction with each other to make some of these sounds.

When did Wes talk about the possibility of BF having two sets of vocal chords? I thought that I have heard all his episodes and I don’t remember. Would like to listen to that one that you are referring to if you remember the episode…

~Sounds like a bayou or a swamp. Does remind me of a rooster, but it’s (or the people recording) traveling. Could be a wild rooster out there. Where is this? I swear it sounds like SW Louisiana or SE Texas, in spots. Florida? Was this in the morning, afternoon, evening, night? That one at the end didn’t sound like a rooster. That rooster’s done gone quiet! Sounds like something imitating the rooster…

I would say that’s early morning, and that is a rooster or other bird. I think the odd sound is an after effect of amplification or the recorder. To be sure, we would need to look at it on a spectrograph.
