Strange Sounds From St. Louis County, MN

SasquatchBioacoustic writes “March 15, 2012 in St Louis County, Minnesota, a field investigator’s audio recorder captures the voices of four vocalizers, two in the background, and two in the foreground. To the passive observer this might easily be dismissed as wolf howls. But closer scrutiny discloses a number of featurs typical of suspected sasquatch vocals captured across the breadth of North America. These include whoops, integrated wood knocks, a “moan” howl, pitch breaks and vowel transitions from /oo/ to /aa/. Widely held speculation suggests sasquatch employ mimicry in their vocalizations, possibly as a form of subterfuge. This recording would lend credibility to such a theory.”

Northern Minnesota has a history of these creatures. If you any of you guys ever get up there in the summertime to visit the surrounding lakes, fishing, bwca, etc. – make sure to stop by “Legend at Giants Ridge” golf course up there, if you guys play golf.

#1 – it’s an unbelievably gorgeous course. 1st hole is a slight dog leg left and there is a sand trap that made us do a DOUBLE TAKE! It was created in the shape of a “footprint” with the heel midfoot at the bottom of the trap and 4 small thin traps ahead – appearing like a footprint when you tee off!!! Coolest shit i’ve ever seen…. I was so intrigued that after 9 (at the turn) I ran into the Pro-Shop and was like WTF is up with the footprint trap, and all the footprint logos…. the guy smiled at me… and said that’s why it’s called the Legend!!! (Obviously i bought a shirt!) haha

Check it out… place is gorgeous:https://www.giantsridge.com/golf/?gclid=CjwKCAjwusrtBRBmEiwAGBPgE9zye74xnGI0ntm16MOBvZzRvqqtx8T4wh94rVALgGL1GyijfuJMmhoCHZQQAvD_BwE

Gosh, imagine hearing that when you are out camping with only a tent as your shelter! I think Campers are BRAVE people 🙂
Saying Hi to you all from London UK. Stay safe in those Vast Woods.

Very interesting vocals, as the taped sounds go on they seem to appear as thou they have moved further away from recorder and or have pointed their heads in a opposite direction which gives off the sound as further away or moving away from recorder. Also it sounds more as a bigfoot then a dogman at times on the ending of each vocal during the duration of the sound track if a person were to try to make some sort of a distinction between the sounds. I’m not saying I’m versed in the sounds of these creatures or some sort of expert, I’m just describing what I hear and think it is a amazing sound track that was recorded. Thanks for sharing, it was very interesting.

I grew up in that part of MN.. ST. Louis Co is pretty large, wonder what exact part this was taken in.

Honestly this sounds less like wolves and more like moose. In the northern part of MN there is a decent population of moose. And there are some in the northern area of that co. I have never heard multiple moose howl together like this.. but I have heard singles and they are similar to this.
