A listener writes “So this was the first week of December 2019 and my wife and I just adopted a sweet rescue puppy around 4-5 months old and I was going for a walk with her through the woods.
I live in rural North Carolina and I’m surrounded by woods and farmer fields. So I take my puppy out and I head to this place that I usually go for a hike. It’s a farmer’s field with tree lines that separate each field and it goes on for miles. There is a creek in the middle of the field with a large forest that we hiked to and when we got the the creek I looked down and there looked like something was drawing in the mud with a stick. It was far away from anyone so I thought it was weird that there was all these strange patterns in the muddy dirt so I took a picture. My puppy and I played in the creek and I watched her run around having a good time and it started to get a little late so I decided to save time and cut through the forest instead of following the fields back to the house. As soon as we entered the forest the hair on my dogs neck stood straight up and she kept looking behind us which had me worried.
I looked but hadn’t seen anything. We kept hiking back to the house and my puppy started growling really low and at this point I was thinking a deer was around or some other animal. I noticed now that I could hear very light footsteps right behind mine when walking so I stopped suddenly and looked around where my dog was looking and growling. I stood there for at least 5 minutes looking until I saw this black/brown bush that seemed out of place. After looking at it more I realized that this was not a bush but something else so I let out a “hey” and this thing stood up from all fours onto two legs around 7 feet tall and we are locked in a stare. I have my glock on me but real scared wondering if this is some man in a suit and I say “what the hell are you doing I could’ve shot you?” When I say this I see the black brown eyes get real wide then turn and just dash into the forest with incredible speed (all of this happened in 30-45 seconds).
I watch it run into the woods until I can’t see it anymore then I grab my puppy in my arms and just make a mad 1 mile dash through the woods until I reach my home. I told my wife and she was glad I was safe. Couple months go by and couple weeks ago my mother who lives beside me runs up to my door one day and beats on it scared. I open up my door and she runs into my house and says that there is a man in the woods saying “hey, hey” while she was working outside and that he growled at her.
I run outside with my rifle and go into the woods but never seen anything but footprints. I remember back to December when I saw that thing in the woods and it hit me that maybe it might be back. It’s been a month since my mom seen that thing but nothing has happened so far and I’m grateful because it has ruined my experience hiking in the woods and I wish I never seen this thing at all. I’m more worried about my mom and something stalking her during the day since she is a stay at home mom and she’s a small 90lb 65year old.”

This is an interesting encounter, and not surprising it said “hey”, when approaching the houses. Wes, have you spoken to him?

I was thrilled to hear of a possible link to a sighting and a type of drawing in the creek/ sand. I posted a pic last year of one I was suspecting was ‘odd’.

Seems like the word hey would be an easy one for them to pronounce. As for the figures in the dirt, I would like to see a pic of that. This reminded me of two Sundays ago on Easter. After an early dinner I decided to take my bike 30 miles south to the Twin Creek bridge on the outskirts of Gratis, OH, and scour for Bigfoot tracks. Back in 2014 some locals found some really nice tracks here and the Bfro did a report on it. Look to the Ohio section, Preble County and there are a couple pics. The creek is over 200 yards wide here, but when the creek is down the water narrows considerably and leaves a nice substrate for tracks. I came upon some markings in the sand. I had to move around to figure them out. Then they became clear and the markings stated Happy Easter. Damn these Sasquatch are smart.
