SC EP:644 Cliff Barackman

Cliff was born and raised in Long Beach, California. Throughout his youth, his interests were drawn towards both the physical and biological sciences, as well as to music. These interests later brought him to dabble in a wide variety of sciences in college before later deciding to pursue his degree in Jazz Guitar.

Cliff can be heard performing guitar around the Portland area, when he’s not busy in the field. Cliff’s interest in the sciences drove him to a teaching career where he could share his love and appreciation of the natural world with young people, and particpate in the occasional sing along.

While Cliff was navigating his life, his growing interest in the bigfoot phenomena drove him to travel to other parts of the country to look into the mystery. By extensively travelling the West Coast, he found himself unsatisfied with living in Southern California and wanting to live closer to bigfoot habitat. After living in various parts of California and Washington State, he eventually settled in Portland, OR where he lives today.

        So the big question Wes is when do we get to have Cliff and Bobo go head to head in a trivia game? The hardest part would be finding hard questions for them. If you ever get a chance to do it perhaps some questions from listeners thrown into the mix would be fun. Keep it up and be safe and healthy.

    Cliff.
    The moon gets 2″ farrher away from the earth each year. Run that clock back just 20 thousand yrs and the distance of the moon to the earth would cause 200′ tides ….twice a day…. Invers square law.
    There’s lots of ” scientific ” evidence that the earth can not be millions of yrs old.

    Good interview with Cliff. He started talking so fast when mind speak was brought up…. he was SO uncomfortable, bless his heart. Then the ‘demonic thing’ was brought up and I was ?. Quarantine Wes will ask it all, lol.

        The strange thing is Wes his close friend Bobo was just on your show, and told us all about his personal mind speak experience. So does Cliff not believe Bobo, or does he think that’s just part of what “the normal animal” bigfoot can do.

        I love those guys but am genuinely curious to how he would address Bobo’s own experience.

    These beings are not an animal! Cliff said nothing about DNA evidence that has already proven that the mitochondrial DNA is female and the other is unknown. Cliff and BoBo are on the Matt Moneymaker train which won’t talk about the TRUE IMPORTANT FACT of the DNA study by Dr Melba Ketchum. Cliff won’t even recognize the facts of the interdimensional aspects that people are seeing.. He only calls it a cultural context. People are telling their encounters of crazy things that happen and Cliff gathers the information but says maybe that happened to them but probably not. You tell that to a person that is terrified by what happened. He doesn’t believe it’s true which is his opinion and that’s fine but I can’t listen to this type of person. Cliff your not AN evidence guy because you refuse to recognize the DNA!!! Quite honestly Wes I’m surprised you had these guys on!

      No scientifically accepted DNA evidence doesn’t mean absence of evidence, it means just that. Ketchum’s evidence is her evidence. It is not accepted by science. Clif is correct in not accepting her information or anyone else’s who may claim righteous truth. If this animal is ever to be discovered it will be by scientific means rather one likes it or not. If he wants to be perceived as legit to a community that matters, he will stay on the path of scientifically accepted evidence. Argue all you want for the woo. Argue all you want regarding what you’ve seen. However, your truth holds zero validity in the eyes of science. It doesn’t invalidate your world view it just says you are not the final arbiter. In this case, the final stamp will be given by science. The truth sometimes sucks….

    My hubby’s working hard through this and I’m worried about germs he may bring home due to my low immune/cancer. But he puts his clothes in a bag to get washed before he comes in the house (good thing we have a garage/patio) then he jumps into the shower, lol. Anyway, kind of glad it happened the way it did (even tho a hardship for all) because it saved lives overall by keeping it more isolated. Lots more deaths and misery could have occurred. Hang in there everyone. Thanks Wes for the great shows!

    I have always said culture is the biggest enemy of progress. I hate to say it like this but at this point I’m just exhausted because of it but we need to seriously get rid of this whole culture thing because it causes nothing but hate, fear and ignorance.       So, in other words, you believe that we’re so much smarter than anyone that came before us? I thought Cliff was arrogant, but you’ve managed to top him. Tell me. Why do you think that we cannot figure out how the pyramids were built? They were built by our knuckle dragging ancestors. That shouldn’t be a problem for geniuses, such as yourself. Don’t you think that maybe we should give credit to people whose DNA wasn’t as scrambled as our own? It’s common knowledge that our DNA loses information with every generation. In other words, we get dumber. Not smarter. Evidence doesn’t support evolution. Not in the least.

    Perhaps the people that hear these telepathy messages or voices from the Sasquatch have that psychic ability to hear these where most people do not. Psychic ability in this day and time is well documented. It is something I think I do not have the ability to perceive in the normal world. However in my very early youth I know damn well a short, slight of build entity ( we will call it an Alien Grey because it matched the description of these entities ) was talking to me telepathically, although I do not know what it said, but it scared the heck out of me so much that I jumped out of the crib to run to my parents .

    I tend to agree with no biological being with goatman, maybe dogman, and other strange entities that that seem to project paranormal abilities. Maybe demonic, maybe interdimesional

    Cliff is a smart guy and his focus is from a scientific stand point which I value. He is more open minded than most people think, plus he was willing to listen and have a conversation with a dumb guy like me for over an hour. I give him credit for that.

    Agreed Michael S. I also tried to listen. Wes did try his best and Cliff did deflect. People like this are the reason I really follow Steve Isdahl. He refuses to hide the truth! He doesn’t make people that have encounters feel like they are crazy. Someone responded to my comment and it was quite comical. They mentioned the “Woo”. Whoever made this up to categorize individuals that have strange encounters is a moron! Let’s face it We have no idea what these beings really are. We do know there is sufficient evidence that these beings have abilities far from any animal. We all choose what and who we want to believe. Either way it will come out eventually and it will send shock waves to our understanding of life and what’struly around us.

    I feel Cliff and Bobo have a heightened interest in Bigfoot and are genuine about learning as much as they can. The one thing I enjoyed about Not Ever Going to Find Bigfoot were the Town Hall stories, not so much the Scooby Doo mysteries search that ensued. There is always a Gatekeeper and those types of people’s hold the key to a paycheck, that hinders what is compared to what could have been. Sasquatch Chronicles is much better than Not Finding Bigfoot by a long shot. We have been able to experience so much from this podcast. Example, Roger Gimlin relating so much content of what happened and how it happened in wich we learn so much more about the reality of The Patterson Gimlin Footage wich is a major piece of evidence supporting the truth that these creatures actually do exist. Brought to you by Wes at SC, along with all these other accounts that are so telling of the reality. Wes don’t got no Gatekeeper to answer to so that’s why this is the best place for information and it is also entertaining. I find it as enjoyable as Nature, Nova, National Geographic shows but with that twist of people not believing in it. You ever watch Nova and at the end think well that guy was full of it? No, why? because they have real footage to accompany it and people just asdume they are being told the truth by the people making that show. That’s why film and good photos are important to this slow discovery process. Since it is a Phenomenon and still not a verified species people do not believe because there are Gatekeepers keeping the Gate closed to its discovery, even though it’s discovered often all over the place. Furthermore blah blah blah.

You mean, through the Creator of all things, Cliff? Through the book that has hundreds of prophecies that have come true, Cliff? So, instead, you’d prefer we listen to your sage ass? Don’t think so. You think these beasts are something that can be understood, yet, you chase them all over the world, and can’t take ONE photograph of them?? Come on dude. I think you just love to hear you’re own voice. Nobody knows more than anyone else. You are just like the thousands of other, so called, “Bigfoot Experts”, that believe you’re something special. Actually, you know about as much as an average person that looks into this stuff.

      @ Kyle M – Totally agree with your comment. The funny thing about Cliff’s ‘view’ is in actuality HIS own ‘cultural view’. IMHO there are ‘things’ in this world and out of this world, too many to mention, that can’t be explained away or attributed to a cultural belief/view. If Cliff believes he actually thinks ‘outside the box’ his foolishness precedes him. I wonder what his views are on quantum physics, string theory and the like. I have a sister who believes and actually talks like Cliff … I can only handle her in small quantities. There is no sense in trying to have an enlightening conversation with this ‘type’ of a person as they’re closeminded and your views are seen as misplaced, unfounded and even wrong at the get-go. Speaking fast and never letting you get a word in edgewise because they believe they are right… and just because they can quote minutiae of “facts & stats” from many topics does not make them right. Moreover, Cliff actually mentioned he didn’t care what people thought of his beliefs and such … how’s that working being a podcaster? IMO I believe a wiser man would think more outside the box by being acquiescent to others’ views and beliefs and not push their views on the listener. A conversation is a two-way street. Instead of just hearing try to actually listen … kind of like the way Wes does … awesome podcaster! And above all realize and accept that NO one has ALL the answers … not even King Solomon.

    There is no way, hillbilly or not, that anyone that is drunk would be able to successfully navigate and out-distance someone in a forest at NIGHT. I cannot say what was sighted was – but drunk anybody is not an answer. MM, I believe, really doesn’t want anything to be authenticated. I have felt this way ever since he was in a prior series with a lady investigator (Amber?) and she saw possible “skunk ape” eye-shine and he cavalierly says, “Oh, we can come back later and see”. She was so PO’d and I didn’t blame her.

    Wes, I appreciate you getting him on but there is something eminently unlikeable about him. I never forget the episode of Finding Bigfoot where they were going to an area looking for Bigfoot (that was also associated with ghosts and the paranormal) and he scoffed at the notion of anyone believing in ghosts???!! And he overuses ‘Squatch’ and ‘Squatchy’ etc., to the point that makes me think he has had hardly any real experiences with it. He makes think of the BFRO guys in Confessionals episode 31….

    In regard to “biped canids” cannot be killed. They have.. Episode 66 of Dogman Encounters describes how a man’s uncles hunted these things. There have been a couple of other accounts as well but I can’t remember where I learned of them. If I remember correctly, one was vehicular.

    Interesting comment about how people tend to view things through a cultural filter. I agree with that. Related to the Bible, my view is that it can stand up to the light of day. Too many people in the past have tried to make the facts fit it. I think our understanding of past history is flawed. The farther in the past something is, the harder it is to have a factual perspective of it.

    Take the creation story…There are people who believe it’s the literal truth and others who see it as a sort of parable (a fictional story with a moral truth). I think if we don’t worry about which one it is and just seek out the facts, we might find that neither side was right. The real truth might just be a little different than anyone expected. The message could be right, but have been misunderstood because it was being related through cultural filters very different than ours. It could also be that people of that time lacked the words and understanding to explain things in a way that makes scientific sense today. It doesn’t mean they’re wrong or that the story is untrue, but that our understanding of it may be flawed. Being open to new discovery may actually explain a lot of things we’ve wondered about.

    Btw, the Bible (OT) doesn’t just talk about Nephilim. It also talks about giants interbreeding with humans and fighting alongside men in armies. What if the pre-flood corruption referred to in the Bible was a corruption of the human genome? Would people of that age have a way to explain this in a way we would understand?

    So rather than having preconceived notions about what is true and what isn’t, I think we need to be open to investigation and learning. I also think there is an unseen world that can be experienced, but can’t be understood in scientific terms. There is no proof of this and probably never will be. It’s just my personal belief that science can’t explain everything.

    I don’t know about this episode. Tough to listen to someone that contradicts himself with data while stating I have to see it for myself. I agree with Cliff on the point of we need to be skeptical. That being said, I’m very skeptical of someone who has never seen a Bigfoot that questions others descriptions and experiences without having one himself.

    Really enjoyed this show, and have a much more favorable impression of Cliff than I had from watching Finding Bigfoot (and quitting after a few years because things).

    I was interested in the discussion of the tree shaking and limb breaking. Those behaviors certainly might be ways to alert humans that the shaker/breaker is near, but it may also be used to alert other Sasquatch (like a beaver slapping its tale). Snaps are always described as loud, like a ‘gun shot’, much louder than need be if that close. Same with the tall tree shaking – doesn’t that send a message farther than, say, huffing or growling would?

    Lost interest very early on. I almost felt as though I was sitting in on a lecture, and agree that Cliff comes off as arrogant as opposed to knowledgeable.

      Bobo is the only interesting one from the Finding Bigfoot show. Cliff and Matt are only interested in lining their pockets, stroking their egos and obscuring the truth. I’m glad to see most people saw through his BS
