SC EP:452 I shot it in the throat

Tonight I will be speaking to a witness from SE Oklahoma. There is a long family history of sightings. The guest will be sharing some of the encounters from his family as well as his own encounters. I will be having this guest back for a part two, otherwise this might be a 4 hour show tonight.

One of the encounters that really interested me was when the guest was a teenager and he came face to face with a Sasquatch. Here is a small portion of that encounter:

“I put the gun to my shoulder and took aim, I was on it and it looked almost surprised, its eyes got big and it just froze in place.

I know it looked me right in the eyes, I said you better say something I am not kidding man you better say something or ill put one in you. Fight or flight kicked in and I wasn’t running.

Its put it’s arms out to its side palms towards me and then let out a deep grumble like you hear a lion on tv do before it gets in a fight then from a grumble to a roar that shook my insides and I was still focused on it in the scope, I put one of those cci stingers right in its throat and it jerked and jumped real fast back to the sycamore then I could hear coughing a bit and just when I thought it was over it really wasn’t.”

I really don’t mean no harm, but I couldn’t listen to all this show because of his breathing while he was talking,I kept feeling out of breath. Sorry Wes

  3. Denise F

    Enjoyed the encounter alot.
No one should judge since he was the only one there that morning and I’m sure glad he came on the show and shared with us.

    Thanks as always!

I agree 100% with Denise that you can’t judge the actions Grizz took at 15 if you were not there (not that I’ve read any one doing that here). And Grizz you are great with the details, I can just about “see” the story unfold as you tell it and I can’t wait till you come back on! Excellent show gentlemen!

Soon as this thing SPOUTED OFF WITH HIS PISSY ATTITUDE,AND ROARED LIKE KING KONG… AT AN AGE OF 15 YRS OLD. I WOULD HAVE SENT A FEW TO… THERE MUST HAVE BEEN FEAR IN THIS YOUNGMANS THOUGHTS… HE KNEW IT WAS AN OF SOME TYPE… NOT A PERSON… GOOD YOUNG MAN…

Great show. One of the best ever. Grizz is hell of a cool dude. Thanks for the show Wes!! Glad u asked him back, I’ll be looking forward to it!

  6. Randel S

Excellent show! Just what I would have done too. Shame it wasn’t the .458 or we might have a specimen.
But putting food out can be a problem.
    Great guest. Thanks to everyone.

Thank you Wes and Griz, fascinating encounters. I have a couple of hunting buddies from Oklahoma, one grew up near Walters on a wheat and cattle ranch. Most people from there are salt of the earth no nonsense types. Thanks again and I look forward to hearing more from Griz. By the way Griz, Colorado has free outside air conditioning this time of year if your inclined to visit and escape the heat.

For sure one of the best episodes, Wes. Really looking forward to him coming back. It would be great if he would write a short book to preserve these stories told just like he did on SC.

  9. james s

thanks Grizz if don’t stand up to them they try to bully all they can. try to get rid of two with a slingshot ,a pellet rifle and a box of m60s firecrackers

Thinner hair on the chest is not uncommon, possible they do scratch this area more especially in the summer. Too bad the hairs and possible flesh from the hand wound was not collected. I kind of figured those oranges would get thrown back -talk about ungrateful guests. I wonder if the Florida Skunk Ape know how to deal with an orange. One may have went into the tent looking for more food. SE Oklahoma never ceases to amaze me.

Thanks for an amazing episode Grizz, and Wes. The details made your account so vivid Grizz, that I paused 1/2 way through so I can listen to the rest of it during the daytime and not right before bed-time! I can only imagine how terrifying that must have been for a 17 year old and appreciate your courage coming onto the show. It was hard to listen to the part where your Dad made you go back down there THE SAME DAY and track where the creature went. I mean it was horrifying enough in the first place. I get that he wanted to make sure it wasn’t a man but that was extreme. You must have been in a state of shock, PTSD material for sure. Anyway, I’m very glad you lived through the experience and I hope it helped you to share it. I look forward to hearing the rest of your account. Thanks again.

Another excellent interview. Great encounter stories.
Although, you should advise grizz to be careful. That one he shot might of not experied and could be coming back for reckoning.
Thanks for the great shows and information you get from witnesses. SC is force to be revered.

    • Wes

I agree but the guest nickname is “Grizz” and he seems to be handy with the steel, if you know what I mean. I would like to advise the Sasquatch to be careful in this situation…lol

I was trying to ” Reply ” to Your Comment. But I ended up commenting after I hit Enter. The Comment I made on 8 / 2 / 2018 is directed at You my Friend. Sorry it ended up in the Comments.

Great show and thanks Grizz! I sure am glad that the booger left rather than coming after you and eating some more lead, who knows what could of happened. You have a strong character to stay cool and protect yourself when it matters, at such a young age nonetheless! Probably was a younger one off on his own just like you surmised. You never know what any creature has intentions to do, including humans and you are the only other person who I’ve heard say that they were taught that you don’t wait to be struck first, if shit is going down anyway be first is what my dad taught me. Avoiding a conflict was the first thing he said to do but some things are unavoidable I suppose. Thanks again

Really a good interview, cannot say that enough. Knew his weapon name, caliber, scope. And could aim a scoped weapon. You would definitely need a semi-auto anything in this case… Had his wits about him then and now. Again what a great interview!!!!!

  15. joe r

I have to say I have been a member since the beginning and I have heard every episode, and I would say this without a doubt has to be in the top 3, absolutely phenomenal detail, outstanding account

  16. Kris G

Wes, I am so glad that you are stating during your show that all episodes of SC on YouTube are pirated…good for you….do this every show…..they are stealing from you…go get ’em!

  17. Michael V

Great guests tonight Wes ! Second guest was my favorite.
I love his accent, just awesome !!!! I’m a California guy and could listen to this good old boy anytime. Very articulate speaker and gave great descriptions that put you in the setting. He has the perfect voice for narrating other peoples BF stories as they do on “other” BF sites, pods. Really enjoyed these encounters.

A well placed shot even from a .22 is a Hell of a deterrent. Luckily he was only dealing w one of em. Think of a Bee sting…..if you get stung very few people stay to destroy the nest….they get the Hell outta there but we outweigh bees by 6000x at least…… i think if you can keep it together and fleeing is not an option the best response is to bluff these things. You cant fight em but your behavior can confuse them. I saw an old wise barn cat stand up to a full size pissed off aggressive Black Lab ( that had just ripped a kitten wide-open…we saved her!l)…she just sat there and stared him down never taking her eyes off of his as he bawled hopping all around her
….didn’t even hiss or bare her claws…after a minute if barking and growling at her from 3 inches away he went elsewhere….coolest thing i ever saw on our farm….taught me a lot.

What an awesome show, Wes! Griz is a great story teller. I felt like I was right there with him. ANYONE who condemns or criticizes him for shooting that Bigfoot needs to put themselves in the shoes of that 15 year old boy. I would’ve shot it as well. The only thing I would have done differently is I would’ve emptied the first mag into him.

  20. Cathleen H

Gee Whiz, I’m a girly girl and a darn good shot. I sure as heck would have shot the Beast, Just like a Bear. We need more guys out their, who can remain level headed & handle the situation, just like Grizz! That Bigfoot had a really bad day. Grizz, You are a Super Hero!

  21. Andrew O

That show, for me, was one of the best. Thank you Grizz and Wes for another brilliant show. I hope you do get him back for some more fascinating insights ?

  22. James M

That’s interesting about it putting up its hands and roaring. My best friends dad lives in the mountain foothills in Virginia and my friend told me how he has seen his father stand up on a stump and raise his arms to make himself look bigger and roar at black bears to scare them off. I wonder if that’s what the hairy man was trying to do with Griz.

  23. Jan D

Well done interview with an excellent guest. Fascinating encounters in this show. Thanks for letting Grizz tell it, and for inviting him back. Looking forward to hearing about the encounters of other folks in his area.

  24. Janeda E

Thanks Wes, really enjoyed the detail. Grizz was a good guest! Love to hear more.
I love the guy that isn’t going back, lol, that would be me. No how, no way.

  25. Donna F

Wow! I joined just so that I could post a comment on this show! Wes, You wonder over and over with your guests why Bigfoot looks at us with hate and disdain in their eyes. This guy, and I don’t give a heck how old he was at the time, shot a Bigfoot in the throat for no good reason at all. That’s cowardly and gun happy in my eyes. If a Bigfoot was charging him yes of course I can see shooting it but this guy deserves no pat on the shoulder for what he did nor for telling his sad story of just what is wrong with humans. I’d much rather be in the woods with a Bigfoot near than a human at this point. Utterly disgusted! In fact, I carry a gun while I am in the woods looking for Bigfoot, not for the Bigfoot but because of humans which are much more frightening to me.

Bucket List ? After what you been through ? ……………… Maybe the Sasquatch Bug has bitten you ?
I seen a 9 – 10 foot Tall Gorilla one Morning in broad Daylight – at 200 feet away ! After being Escorted down a Mile Stretch of Road in Northern Michigan the night before.
When I heard a Stick snap in 2 Pieces just behind me , and when I turned around there was Nothing there ? I ran like a Terrified 5 year old Child out to the Paved Road that I should have taken earlier that night and walked the rest of the way Home. looking over my Shoulder the whole way ! At the Time I owned 4 AK47 Assault Rifles 2 SKS Assault Rifles , a 9 mm Pistol , an AR 15 with 100 various Magazines that went up to a 75 Round Magazine , And a 308 Assault Rifle called a Fenal that had a 20 Round Magazine. And the afternoon after I woke up after seeing this thing I had absolutely NO DESIRE Ever too See it Again !
At the Time that I had seen it ? I did not feel Threatened. It stood there 200 feet away and did not Move a Muscle ! And I stared at it long enough for Myself to ask ‘ How can Something be THIS BIG ? ‘ Then I heard the Stick break in 2 Pieces.
The Creepy part is when a member of this Web Site asked if I Thought that IT had Thought I was as Blind as I had been earlier that Night ? ( as it Stood there Frozen Still and did not move a single Muscle ! ) And when I read that Question – THAT was Exactly what it was Like !

I did not want to get up in Arms and search that Thing out. I do not ever wish too See that Thing again. I have never been back to that Spot.
I have heard these things Speaking to Each Other ( Years Before – and I explained it away as Some Cityiot who chose a Bad Camping Spot along the River.) But nothing has drawn me back to the Forest too Search these things out. It was a Traumatizing Experience !
But if you have a Bucket List ? I will show you these Feral People if you ever come up to North Western Michigan ! I will Invite you into My House and you can Endure the Eye Rolling of my Daughters as I do ever time the Subject comes up. ( I put up with it – as I will not bring my Children with me searching for these things.) But I will go out there to Show Someone who understands.
I am fine if you wish to carry a Firearm. ( but you must bring your Own – as I am kinda Funny about people touching My Firearms.) ( No Offence – it is just me ) I wouldn’t carry a Gun. Because they do not make a Pistol that is capable of taking one of these things down. And I am not about to Wound one so it can come back on me.
I think these things ” Think ” Differently than We do. ( Because of their Brains – they have None Understanding in them ) I do not believe they can ” Imagine ” as We can.
I do think these things are Esau of the Bible because EVERYTHING Said in Description of Esau in the Books of Genesis & Obadiah is Describing the Sasquatch. …….. But what do I Know ?
If you ever bring your Bucket List to Northern Michigan ? I would be Happy to Show Ya !
