SC EP:258 Logger has encounter in Oregon

A listener writes “I have been a logger for the past 34 years, and on this day in January of 2002 I was driving into one of our logging jobs on the Oregon Coast.

There were two empty log trucks sitting on the landing and one loaded on heading out so I needed to find a spot to get out of the way. Since I was kind of needing to go to the bathroom I decided to drive up a spur road to be out of the loaded trucks way and also take care of my “business”. I took a short hike into the timber and proceeded to “squat” it had been dark and rainy all day and at this particular moment the sun broke through the clouds for a few seconds, and a column of sunlight came through the canopy of tree tops.

The column of light hit on a spot that I thought was a rotten stump. But then I realized it wasn’t a stump but a creature covered in reddish brown hair also squatting down almost as if to be trying to hide from me. When it realized I had spotted it, it stood straight up and took off walking towards the ridge top. I was also spooked and jumped up and ran back to my rig as quickly as possible. Went many years without telling anyone about it. But the older I get the less I care what anyone else thinks.”

I will also be welcoming two other witnesses to the show and one of the witnesses talks about lights in the woods he saw around his cabin.

    Wes you are the best podcast out there. A lot of people want you to be a Guest on the higher side chats podcast about the bigfoot conspiracy. I think it would be incredible to hear your thoughts your knowledge your theories and the facts from Wes Germer the Legend himself. I’m dying to know what you think about it and your theories etc…. That would be a great members show hint hint hint!

    Let that be a lesson to all. If you are taking a dump somewhere that you might have to act always leave one leg out of your pants. That is a lesson I learned on my first state sponsored vacation. All expenses paid to the one and only Lebanon correctional institution. Being out in the woods or wherever you are it could save your life.

    Wes, great work and efforts my man. Much thanks to you and all of the eyewitness’ for coming together to get these encounter stories out into the public domain. I truly agree with the fact that us as humans have the right to know that these things do exist. Makes me wonder what else they try and attempt to cover up.

    Does anyone here know much about these “orb” things? Are they usually associated with bigfoot? Or do they seem to be a separate issue?I haven’t heard much about the orb subject before listening to this podcast.

    I don’t if what I saw is considered to be an orb, because orbs are typically described as being beachball size or smaller. The light I saw fit more in line of some of the descriptions of Foo Fighters. However, back in the mid 80’s my dad and I were on our way back to our house one night, when we rounded a curve in the highway and a round ball of light appeared in the sky then dropped to about the horizon the abruptly shot up and to the left then disappeared. We both saw it and could not explain it. It appeared to be about 2-3 miles down the road, so it had to have some size to it. It was amber colored and was about as bright as the street lights in our neighborhood, off to our right. It took about a second and a half for it to descend and about a quarter second to shoot up and disappear.

    I’ve recreated the ball of light/orb from a Google map screenshot of the actual spot I was in when I saw it, and then approximated the size and color. This was just west of Eufaula Oklahoma around 10pm back in the mid 80’s.

    Incidentally I recently found out this year that I had a classmate who was having BF activity on their property around the same time as I saw this light, and they lived due south of where this light appeared by about 5 miles. I think the orbs are just coincidental to BF activity, but both are fascinating subjects to me. By the way my classmate still lives in the same area, and she says she will not go for a jog after dark. Anyway that is my orb story…

    What happened to all the shows we were supposed to get each week. Midweek show and all that? Not worth membership anymore. Shouldnt make promises that you cant deliver on.

    Luv your show! Think that when we get all of the other “crap” it ceases to become your show and becomes a lot of people’s show that has nothing to do with you..oh well
