SC EP:169 A gold miner’s encounter Part Two [Replay]

 

Due to  my grandmother passing away I am posting a replay of my show with Bob Garrett. I will be back tomorrow night posting some new Members show. Look for that tomorrow night. I hate doing replays but I want to thank the audience for understanding.

In Part Two of my discussion with Bob we talk about some of the behaviors that he witnessed from the Sasquatch as well as some of the stranger things he experienced while out in the woods. Sometimes fact is stranger then fiction. I discussed with Bob some of the behaviors that witnesses have reported on the show and get his take.

Bob spent years living off of the land and in the mountains as a gold miner. We were chatting about a lot of things Sasquatch related, we were discussing past guests, I have had on the show to get his opinion on the creatures behavior. I told Bob “it would be great to do a show talking about encounters you had in the beginning, when you were mining and living off of the land, before you really knew about these creatures and behaviors you witnessed.”

Bob shared with me some of the best encounters I have ever heard. Bob also shared with me encounters that other miners had in the area. Bob talked about how the Sasquatches in Colorado are different then the ones in Texas. We discussed not only the physical characteristics but also the behaviors between the two. I am still thinking about some of the stuff he shared with me. Some of the encounters might surprise you.

Sometimes it is important to go back and discuss why you got into this field before the days of the online Bigfoot world.

      Awesome stuff again! Out here we call it “listenen’ to the grass grow”. Nothing but the breeze and other sounds, sharp shinned Hawks, owls, coyotes, foxes, crows, Ravens, elk at there time of year. Enticing enough to keep me here for 30 years.

Here’s to her being a part of your life for so long and guiding you into a tenacious journey to record abundant Sasquatch visual information for all of us believers. Rip grandma. Please help Wes find some tangeable visual evidence in order to help protect mankind and give Squatch his space. Tall order but with hope….humans are creative and need to be in charge here…. Somehow….

    PS: Wes: you and Bob are the best combination, without a doubt. You can interview like no other and Bob is a living legend! I’m talking like Coonbo & Bear and Patterson & Gimlim type legend.     In memory of your dear grandmother. I’m posting what has been told to me was an old Hopi Indian prayer. It goes as follows:

    Do not stand by my grave and weep
    I am not there- I do not sleep
    I am a thousand winds that blow
    I am the diamond flings on snow
    I am the sunlight on the ripened grain
    I am the gentle autumn’ s rain
    When you awaken in the morning hush
    I am the swift uplifting rush
    Of quiet birds in circled flight

    Do not stand by the grave and cry
    I am not there- I did not die.

    My thoughts are with you, boys. Your grandmother watches over you still. 🙂

    Wes,
    I am so sorry for your loss, and all of our prayers are with you my friend. I know how youre feeling, so hang in there, it will get better. Ive been missing my grandma for well over 20 years now. But rest easy in the knowledge she is in a better place and some day you will have a wonderful reunion with her in heaven. But we dont want to rush that, ok. There are alot of us that value you right here and look forward to hearing you every week… much more than you know!

    Nice group of people here as members . Many nice wishes for you, Wes (&Woody) These people are more your friends than customers. When people say, take your time, we can wait. They mean it. This is what a friend says to people that mean alot to them. Nice to see , especially online. Know that you have good people backing you, Wes. Keep your chin up. Don’t beat yourself over not seeing her. Your grandma always knew where your heart was. And now she’s free to check on you whenever you need her. Keep faith in that.

    Sorry for your loss. It was my grandmother along with my father whom were hunting outside of Crabtree, Oregon when they came across a trackway in an abandoned apple orchard up in the mountains. They felt very watched and left the area shortly after.

    Just wanted to write how sorry I am to hear of your loss. The void never fills, but the memories sure do help. You and Woody lean on each other, share in your memories, and hopefully there’s much laughter to be had, knowing that most boys are rambunctious, so you probably gave her gray hairs, and many smiles.

    I just listened to this episode today….don’t think I’ve heard part 1. I so enjoyed what Mr. Garrett had to say. I found the last part especially fascinating. His stories of his times of camping in the west was awesome….more so was his complete respect for the areas he camped in. I’m definitely not a “ghost hunter”, nor do I aspire to do so, but the more information we can obtain as being observed by people in the field, the more pieces of the “whole” we have. Mr. Garrett’s experiences reminded me of some experiences that my Dad used to tell me that happened to a friend of his who was something of a wanderer, or perhaps vagrant at times. Mr. Garrett was so credible and respectable…..a pleasure to listen to. Sure glad the pumas didn’t eat him up!
    On a different topic, I’m not technically savvy enough to know if my next suggestion would be a costly or difficult thing to achieve, but I sure would like it if this site could have a search engine, to make finding people or stories easier. I love your site though, and I’m learning a lot from the interviews you do. You do a wonderful job, and you find great people & stories! Thank you!

    Certainly not calling Boab a lier however to make claims about having unreleased photos is just a dickish thing to do. Oh I could show yah but I’m not going to, why not?
