SC EP:145 Tribal Police and Sasquatch

I will be speaking to Chris who was with the Indian tribal police for many years. Indian tribal police are peace officers hired by those Native American tribes which have a constitutional government on reservations, as opposed to hereditary chiefs. I spoke to him yesterday and he is going to come on the show and talk about some of the calls he received while on duty regarding Sasquatch. Chris still investigates reports today and is going to share some of those encounter stories as well.

I will also be speaking to the father of the son who had an encounter just a few weeks ago. His son is still upset over the encounter below and who can blame him. The report goes as follows: “My 15 year old son and his friend had left the camp to head down to the lake. As they were standing by the lake they heard something come down off of the ridge-line, my son turned around and was about 30 feet away from what he describes as an ape. The boys came running into camp, both white as ghosts. My son and his friend demanded that we leave. They were both in shock and shaking. I was finally able to calm them down enough to have them explain what happen.

The boys said as they turned around they saw this HUGE thing staring at them. My son said it was taller then the basketball player Lebron James. Its head was round like a watermelon, his nose was flat and wide. The jaw on the creature was really wide, It was built like a bodybuilder. The creature was massive and ape-like in appearance. The boys said this thing just stood there starring at them. What has me puzzled is we have seen bear, cougar and the normal wildlife but both boys said it was ape-like.They were both terrified and shaking. After seeing the boys reaction and how upset both boys still are I really think they saw something. My son says he doesn’t want to ever go in the woods again and wishes he would have never seen it.”

I will also be asking Chris for the background information on this

Hey great stuff yet again boss. It’s always very fascinating getting to hear encounters on reservations. And get to hear certain tribe’s opinions and points of view on the topic. Each tribe has their own unique history with these animals some believe they are our forest brothers, some consider them vicious beasts and try to avoid them and others recognize them as just another part of nature and if you don’t bother them they won’t bother you, live and let live type of relationship. And I just really enjoy hearing about each tribe’s culture in general. They have an understanding of nature that most will never have. Another great show Wes, keep up the great work

Another terrific show, Wes. Hope you can help & support the father’s son & particularly his son’s friend.
Chris has some great stuff happening in his area. He’s being a great friend to his tribal members in order to get a handle on the best course of action. Hope he updates!

Have fun in San Diego Wes, my brother works for the Border Patrol in the area you’re going to visit. I’m sure he’d be happy to talk to you if he or anyone he works with had seen anything… OH WAIT! You’ve blatantly ignored my last two emails with questions, yeah nevermind.

        • DrAaron

Somehow I doubt that he will be dropping everything to respond to that email now. Wait, I am going to San Diego in November…think your brother would want to chat with me? I’ll take 30 seconds to email ya!

          • Matt P

No of course not. And you mean to say you’ve got 30 seconds of free time to respond to someone via email? You sir are no Wes Germer. I think you need more things to fill out your day.

    • cyndie r

Oh Matt P.! don’t be insecure and immature and petty. It is so unbecoming of you. Since Wes has not yet responded, you have no idea what the situation is. It must be difficult to fathom but the entire universe is NOT on Matt P’s time table .Have some patience and some class. It builds character.

      • Matt P

It’s hilariously becoming of me actually. And this was about 4 months ago now. That’s a pretty reasonable timetable. If someone gave me their money in my line of work and I failed to get back to them after 4 months I’d expect to lose my job.

        • Tyler D

Hey Matt, if you don’t like the customer service on SC than please by all means find a different place to vent your frustrations. Absolutely NOBODY is making you stay here man, cut the nonsense. Your sweating the things that are not a big deal in the slightest, all the members on SC pride themselves on keeping things positive. Let’s try and keep it that way if possible

    • Tyler D

Not necessary man, Wes is a busy guy and he tries damn hard to make sure he responds to all of the members on this show. Give him a break man. N I think Patrick meant inappropriate on your part Matt, not on Wes. We’ve tried pretty hard on SC to fade out the trolls, we’d appreciate if you kept your negative comments to yourself

      • Matt P

Oh my God…. Yes I aware that was directed at me Tyler, thanks for stating the obvious. I have a sense of humor though so I turned it around into a joke while still getting my point across. Figured that would be obvious to non-dense people.

“Wes is a busy guy and he tries damn hard to make sure he responds to all of the members on this show”

Um, it would seem that’s not the case, sorry.

“We’ve tried pretty hard on SC to fade out the troll”

You have no idea what that word means. If someone was unhappy with my horrible customer service in my line of work I don’t have the luxury of calling them a troll and being dismissive about it. People give you their money, they’re entitled to the bare minimum.

“we’d appreciate if you kept your negative comments to yourself”

Sorry I’m not a sycophant, and this is a public forum, I’ll say what I want.

      • DrAaron

He is a loving father and the boy is terrified. A high pressure interview might not be the best therapy right now. I respect the father for his concern and interest in helping his son. Certainly adds to the credibility…

        • Jay Carlsen

YES ! I admit openly I am a Chronic Listener. And even though I have Never heard a HIGH PRESSURE Interview on Here ? I respect the Fathers Decision. And Yes ! It Does add much to the Credibility.

Wonderful program tonight. Very interesting how on top of things these investigators are, and they don’t deny at all what is going on. That’s wonderful. I love hearing about how the different tribes experience the Big Man. We can learn so much about their history.
    Thank you Wes!

Wes, Hve a great trip to San Diego!
    Great show to night:)
One of my favorite topics, Native American Police
describing Bigfoot encounters to Dogman encounters.
These subjects are most often closed mouth to the public.
I’m glad people can talk to you about there sightings.

    • Matt P

I wouldn’t say ignoring someone’s emails/questions is gratuitously rude, but pretty close, it’s at least sufficiently rude… But go easy on him, he’s only been at this for a few years now.

      • David R

Yah I had a problem getting my account back when the Will thing happened, but Wes got back to me. Matt needs to send a email that’s set for sightings. It might work, but Wes could be getting too many to read!

  6. June P

    Awesome!
I always contemplate the responses I hear people having after seeing a Sasquatch. Why does it bother people in that manner as opposed to seeing a bear or cougar at close range?
I believe the reaction is largely due to the fact that it is bipedal. Think about it, we see ourselves as highly evolved ( and we are), we have cars and computers and build things. Walking on two legs seems to be a huge hallmark of evolution ( and it is).
Now, introduce a huge, hairy man like unknown on two legs, starring at you. What a mind job. I have never seen one ( I think I have smelled one and experience stone throwing at a house I rented on vacation) but I cannot imagine what my brain would go through.
I have always believed they are out there, but I am totally sure it would screw me up for a while.
I guess even believers who have never seen one, such as myself, still have that question lingering in the back of our minds, ” is it really out there?” I truly believe it is, but seeing is a whole new reality to be sure.
I would want to see one. That said, I would choose to see it close enough, but far enough. I think in a way, seeing one outweighs not seeing one. ( unless it was a very aggressive situation) but I also know like Wes quotes the old saying, “Be careful what you wish for….”
    ????????????

Or saskatchewan. My brother was stalked and chased and had to shoot the bear. Pretty rare though. I’ve encountered at least ten in the last five years Sometimes with my rifle sometimes with my bow. Not a great feeling with only a bow in hand. Every time they have ran from me thankfully.

  7. Tyson R

Matt P, I definitely hear where your coming from. I sent an email with questions back in December with no response. I got impatient and sent another (with the same questions) last week. To my surprise Wes didn’t just respond, he called me! I spent an hour on the phone and to his defense I asked him how many people he’d talked to that day and he was already at 10. It was barely 1pm I believe. So maybe try again. I vouch for Wes for sure. He went above the call of duty for me and I’m a saschroner for life because of it.

  8. MONTE M

Another good episode! Good encounters ,discussion, questions and theories.
Wes did a great job of making it comfortable for the guests and enjoyable for the listeners . Thanks!

  9. MONTE M

It is really nice of Wes to reach out to those kids . I think it would help them to be able to talk to someone who can relate to the experience and how they are feeling.

  10. Ray R

Oh buy the way, I just got the book Out on Foot by Rocky Elmore, wow what an amazing book, read half the first night, one hell of a read. Thank you Wes for having Rocky on.

  11. Jenny

Dear Matt P..you’re right..how SELFISH of Wes to not reply to your obviously important, life changing questions..I mean, come on ..how come he didn’t DROP everything to reply to you..Just because he’s an incredibly BUSY man with THOUSANDS OF EMAILS to wade through on top of his incredibly successfull website that just runs itself..So what that he’s also husband and a Dad with little children…everybody knows how easy that is, Jeez what a DICK, you should just unsubscribe and piss off… That will teach him.

    • Matt P

I know a lot of incredibly busy people Jenny, myself included. Pretty sure we all have a minute throughout the day at some point over 4 months to read a question and respond with a yes or no. Horrible point, just bad…

      • Jenny

HOLD UP EVERYBODY…DROP EVERYTHING! Our little VIP here is not getting enough attention..Matt is A VERY BUSY MAN and he’s taking time out of his busy life to complain to us! Ffs people don’t you know who he is! He’s really really ENTITLED so get it together Wes FFS…Answer his important e-mails ya bastard! Or he’ll use his epic powers to whine to bore us to death..hurry Wes HURRY!!!! 😮

  12. Steven D

Yeah matt…you should totally teach that unresponsive jerk a lesson and disappear! !!! How dare he not answer a couple of very important questions you could have gotten answers too on the forum. That’s what makes the world today suck so bad…it’s busy guys like wes who need more on there plate, blatantly ignoring selfish americans who take it a step further by posting there anger for these slaves of our amusement publicly! !! Damn wes!!! I mean you paid money man!!! YOUR A MEMBER!!! We all feel you matt…we paid money too and now we are forced to hear our hero get shit on by a self important jack ass!! TEACH US ALL A LESSON AND DISAPPEAR! I’ll bet your awesome on the highway.

  13. Seamus J. C

Matt P.–I hear that you are frustrated. I hope Wes can contact you, answer your questions, and get in touch with your brother, that would be cool. I know I have a hard time keeping track of my own email accounts, and I don’t even have that much going on. Wes is sort of famous now, in the position where a lot of people want his attention–and some really need it. And he’s a human being, I imagine some of the time he’s just jacking around, but that’s a need, too.

Back several years ago a sweet little missionary Pastor who in his fifties suddenly died from a heart attack. His dog had inexplicably died a few days before. It’s always been my theory that the guy saw something outside that freaked him out & literally scared him to death. That was on the Pine Ridge Reservation, in South Dakota.

Not that this man did this sort of thing because I don’t know of it, but a lot of times Christians are told to not even think of things like this. I’m a christian, and can tell you, a lot of people just say not to delve into “devilish” things. How can someone be prepared if they’re not allowed to “think” even if it is devilish? Hope that comes across as I intend it to.
