SC EP:139 Sasquatch encounter on a military base

My guest tonight is Anthony Moffett who is a researcher, and he describes an encounter he had while in the military. He was on base and was doing a training mission and saw two creatures watching his group. He said that he saw a creature in a push up position watching him. He heard crashing in the brush and the one creature was joined by another creature. Anthony also shares other encounters he has personally had along with some strange encounters that he has looked into.

hey Wes, I’ll be shooting you a e-mail, about something you talked about on SC EP:138 . I figured you was talking right at me, I got a little tail to tell.

    Thank you Wes!
Those BF in the push up position, was that kind of how the really big and cocky one was moving on the road, in front of you and your brother? I’ve been trying to picture that scene in my mind, every time I think I’m close, I have to run, either to the bathroom, to peek under the bed, look in the closet, or ALL THREE!! Many thanks

  3. Blake S

Antony is the real deal, checkout his youtube channel, he really does get out there to the middle of nowhere in untouched areas, I think they spend a lot of time in that push-up position, that’s why they have those big chest muscles, if you want big chest muscles that’s the exercise you do (basically the same as bench pressing)/ and while I am on the subject, the reason they have no neck is because if they did, they would all be ripping each others heads off every time they get into a fight with each other, just look at what they can do to a tree that’s 8 inches across, they can snap them in half!! you know your neck is just about the weakest part of your body.

    • SantiamLady

Oh….they have a neck. ???? It’s just that their trap muscles, sterno muscles, and other “power” muscles around & up their necks, are so thick and massive, it makes it seem that they have no necks. Those massive muscles, as well as the heavy jaw muscles, are the reason they have the Sagital Crest on their skulls, as an attachment point for those thick, heavy neck & jaw muscles, which gives them their classic peaked-head profile.
They are truly “muscle-bound”, and turn their whole torso to look around, rather than turn that muscle-dense neck. They probably can turn those thick necks, but it is easier, and safer, to shift their entire torso instead.

Yeah enjoying the early post!! Any word when David Paulides will be on the show? Wes you said you thought late August…

Agree with everyone~ Anthony is certainly a trooper and he goes to remote places. I love his YouTube postings. Have a good week~I know mine will be a bit rough but I am optimistic!. Take care Robert W

  5. DonRay

Also… Predators will eliminate the competition.. They’re known to kill young offspring of other species, just to kill… Whole litters… or the occasional easy adult prey…. I do believe they eat them, and i believe some are just killed to be killed, eliminated… they know offspring grow up, and become the competition…….. Enjoyed the show.. Thanx Guys…. Ciao PS.. Heartland America trail cams reasonable priced, if your a member.. 🙂

Wes…thank you for continuing the show… This is the first website I go to everyday to look at new things posted and listen to your shows. I just wanted to take the time to tell you your hard work and dedication is appreciated..your a good man and this is by far the best show I have listened to, and the best website to stay informed. You have great listeners and it’s refreshing to see how many people have your back and support your work. People aren’t stupid…u have this much support because you care about people, what they have been through, and getting information out there! Fan for life in me, and thank you again for not giving up on this because I know how much work goes into this and it cannot be easy!

  7. pam

Glad you had Anthony Moffet on! Followed his videos for the scenery if NOTHING else.

This is first time I have heard him on a podcast… great catch Wes! As usual…. 🙂
You do realize, you are setting the bar higher with each episode , don’t you?

    • Tyler D

I think there’s a more simple explanation that these animals seem to be much more comfortable being around children. I honestly believe they see them as less of a threat. Simple and blunt. And also I believe the reasons these animals take people, at least a good portion of the time anyways, is either a territorial reason, as a food source or as a mate. Very much an early human, homoerectis or neanderthal type behavior

      • SantiamLady

Who doesn’t love watching ‘puppies’ play? ???? Even Koko the Gorilla had a pet kitten, who grew into a cat she adored. ???? ????
Whenever I hear about Sasquatch watching children, I want to believe their motive is that innocent, but a worm of fear always twists in my gut. ????

    • DrAaron

I have often wondered this myself. I picture Bobo on the other side of the holler blasting calls while the weekend warriors respond back. I wonder if there is a system to alert others of plans to conduct research. I am sure the BF aware of the sudden increase in this new human behavior and use it as an indication to move along…

  8. david s

An excellent guest and an outstanding show Wes.

BTW Wes, your audio sounded very tinny, like your treble was turned all the way up and your bass was turned all the way down.
Maybe you have a new mike.
    The guest’s audio was fine.

  9. Pat T

David P warming up in the on deck circle Wes? Can’t wait, enjoyed the coast to coast interview. This is your chance to shine big guy, you know that you have arrived when DP will come on and share. Thanks again to all of your brave guests who are willing to let us in on their encounters and of course the hard work that you put into making this a fun site. Keep up the effort!

    • Eric S

I asked about David Paulides, Dr. Melba Ketchum, Mitchell Townsend, and the person who’s home is under attack.
Wes mentioned that most would be on by the end of August.
      Has anyone heard?
      Any response to our questions?

  10. David D

Thanks Wes, good show. I’ve watched some of his videos, and the one with the white face is creepy to say the least. It reminded me of some of the Scott Carpenter vids. I do believe if he keeps going by himself, that he will eventually end up as an entry in a yet future volume of a David Palides 411. I do think that the little Kunz boy was taken. Not a lion, bear or wolf! Man,,, like I said before, still praying for all parties involved.

  11. Jay Carlsen

How Excellent! Could the 2 Deer at the 10:00 mark , be under the Influence of the Infra Sound ? The way they were Standing there , Starring at each other ? When he threw the Big Acorn ( Softball size Acorn – is a BIG Acorn !)that broke the spell ………..

  12. Sean C

Awesome show Wes, and thank you too, Anthony! I just found his YouTube videos about a week ago, so it was kind of funny to see who your guest was Wes. I mostly listen to scary Reddit and Creepy Pasta type stories on YouTube anymore, don’t usually look for bigfoot videos much, but once in awhile you can still find something really cool. Thanks again guys! I had never thought so much about these things maybe causing insanity in people, that is pretty scary!

    Keep on truckin’

I think the fear of BF is built in at the genetic level based on past common human experience. Just like a newborn is afraid of a snake without ever seeing one…..the passed down “caveman lessons learned” knew these things were dangerous and we’ve inherited that knowledge at the genetic level called biological memory.

  14. Henry N W

I really enjoyed this interview because I’ve been following Anthony Moffett on YouTube. I listened carefully to his comments concerning the missing Idaho child. I agree.

I’m also glad he’s armed when he goes out. About his hand gun upgrade, he might look into purchasing a 45 LC revolver single action using Buffalo Bore standard pressure ammo. It carries a solid knock-down punch.

  15. James G

how about a heads up on the “talks like a trucker/sailor episode 139” was listening while doing the bills with the kids in the next room. got busted by the wife.
Example: My guest tonight is Anthony Moffett who is a researcher and he describes how (using expletives)….:) then i know to pop the old ear buds in. not saying it was a bad interview or to censor the interviewee, just a heads up we’re going a little “blue” on this show, to the listeners would be appreciated.
    Awesome F-ing episode BTW:)

  16. Gail d

The story about the abducted Boy Scout was upsetting, but Anthony was a great guest with a lot of information. I do think he is a little crazy to go out in the wilderness alone. Great show Wes!!

  17. James m

Thank you again for all the hard work and keeping things changed up. It was cool to listen to a researcher that is boots on the ground and gives his perspective .. Keep up the great work and just to let you know I have about ten people that are now die hard listeners

  18. Bal G

Man, this guy needs to be careful! His encounters are scary to say the least. He should take a couple of people along, and everyone should be armed to the teeth. Great show as usual Wes. Thanks for everything you do.

  19. Robert V

    Hello,

Would love to hear more about the child who ended up with mental issues. It’s a sad story. I really don’t like how they track and watch us. Makes you wonder what the little girl saw and how she escaped. I’ve been thinking about when children get kidnapped. I think the experience or reason really depends if the one kidnapping the child is a male or female. Just putting that out there.

Good show. I’m glad you are still on.

    Bob

  20. Janetta V

Dear Anthony, Even if your head is on a swivel, carrying a 9mm is no more than a cork gun if you meet up with a serious bigfoot. It doesn’t matter about all your equipment, if you are too dead to use it. Be careful. Find a friend with a rifle.

  21. Gary C

Really enjoyed listening to this episode and I then watched a couple of vids on YouTube that Anthony has made.
The Vids are really good, he explains what’s going on and you can see and hear the great effort going into what he is doing, it’s payday this week I’m going to chuck a few quid his way as I think he deserves it.

  22. Vance W

Thanks Wes, Mr Moffett’s stories were interesting and informative. Unfortunately after seeing over and over through the years how any photographic and video evidence is dismissed and never moves the ball forward I don’t think anything researchers like Mr. Moffettwill never prove anything except to themselves. We have had a perfectly good film of a Sasquatch for 48 years that has not put the animals in the biology books. I hope he realizes this and doesn’t get hurt for nothing basically because these big Harry’s are more dangerous than a Kodiack.

  23. Vance W

Btw – Mr. Moffettt can buy a Taurus 44 Rem Mag for around $545. But I’d go for a Gen 4 Glock 20 full size in10mm. You pick a new one up for less than $600. I carry the Glock 20 when hunting because you can get 15 round clips so I can carry 90 rounds of ready ammo. Of course these are really only for potentially escaping a direct attack. It would be a last resort.

  24. Cindy W

Wes, as usual, you rock!! It feels as if we are all family and hearing one of our own talking was great! Even though I’ve never met Anthony, as I’ve never met you, it seems as if we have met. Thank you so much for all your hard work and having the best guests on your show!! You are loved and admired more than you will ever know!! Keep on Big Footing!!

  25. Reed D

    Wes,
Great episode, I enjoyed it a lot. Hopefully we’ll hear more from Anthony soon. He’s quite interesting; the real deal.

    Anthony,
Pleeez! Trade in your 9Mm and get a good
6″ double-action .44 magnum revolver. I know firearms aren’t cheap, but there’s no replacing you. You’re a real go-getter and place your self in the thick of the action…. I’d hate to hear of you not making it back out of the woods in one piece!
    Take care.
    Reed

  26. James L

I like the report at the 30 min mark about the 2 guys that saw one wearing deer antlers. It was likely carrying a deer, but what if….. what if it was holding deer antlers to its head as a disguise?

  27. cyndie r

    Jay Carlson
Yes, I thought the exact same thing. They were under the influence of infrasound. But that opens up so many other questions: What in the world is the Sasquatch doing watching these two huge bucks standing nose to nose? Did he catch them in a stand off and hit them both at the same time? Why as a 12 year old boy did the infrasound not affect him? He probably weighed less and was smaller in stature than either one of those two bucks.

  28. WALT D

Thanks Wes and Thank you Anthony. There is nothing better than going out into the field to do investigations. Many here do not for many reasons but I am one that loves to go into the timber. Keep em coming.

  29. James (Waylon) Johnson

Enjoyed the show very much; we need to take up a collection to purchase Anthony a wheelbarrow…….so he can more easily carry around his gonads. Probably the same garden supply store that Bob G. has an account with.

  30. SantiamLady

@James J. ????Yes! He does need a wheelbarrow for his gonads! ???? OMG!

Thanks Wes & Anthony (he who needs wheelbarrow to haul his gonads around in) for a great Show!!!! ????????????????
PLEASE be careful out there Anthony! AND put that 44 cal Revolver on a Credit card! ????Better off in debt than dead! ????

  31. Kenneth M

He should consider getting a glock 20 in 10mm with Underwood Ammo = >10,000ft pounds of energy. A glock 20 is light and carries 15 rounds of ammo & spare mags Fast follow up shots and up to 200 yard hit capability. He will appreciate more firepower and less weight than a 44 magnum, and you can find for $400 used.

I love how he goes in deep looking for evidence, but he needs more firepower. Flares, radio, GPS as well.

    • David H

      Don’t want to be a smart a. —-but, 10,000fp of energy , don’t think so..not a 10mm. maybe 10,000psi IN CHAMBER. 3 30-06 together be hard to get that done !!!!!!. M14 all the way , that’s M14 NOT M4 , a p. Dog round ! 223 barley a man stopper much less a monster mangler !!!! Don’t mean to offend , just my .02 and some truth..

  32. Russell K

I think i heard him say brown bears? In the pnw or idaho in the sawtooth mountains? No chance. They are in alaska along the coast and on islands here. There are however grizzlys in the sawtooths and certain areas of the north cascades. But not brownies. They are exclusive to Alaska. Maybe he was talking of color phases of black bears? Some are rust colored some are brown, some black with brown around the paws, many color phases can be found in black bears. And in my opinion his 9 mm is fine for self defense in the lower 48 wilderness areas. Not my first choice but it will do the job in most cases. 22mag and a 222 was the gun most old time eskimos used to hunt and kill polar bears in the north country of alaska. The target area was always a head shot between the ear and the eye on the side of the head where the skull was thinnest. They would be laying in the snow with a white glove on a stick they used as a visual lure and have the rifle ready to shoot and when the bear came in close enough to sniff the glove blowing the seal scent in the air they would pull the trigger usually at point blank ranges.brave men no doubt. Its all about shot placement. Can’t hit em can’t get em.

    • Dara H

I second that….when is David Paulides coming on? Between my favorite author and my favorite host its just too dang exciting to imagine! Wes and David Paulides doing an interview….BEST SHOW EVER! Can’t wait to hear Wes’s take when David gets into his research. So excited can’t even explain it! Give us an update Wes, pleaseeee? Your da man either way! I have so much respect for you and the show regardless if David comes on or not, but the two of you talking on air together will be interesting to say the least! I’m like a kid before Christmas wanting to unwrap my presents and see what the heck is inside…but re-wrap em of course before mom finds out! Too excited….need update!LMAO

      • Dara H

P.S. The only thing that could possibly be better than you interviewing David Paulides is you ( Wes ) coming out with your own book! Hint..hint! That is something you should look into as you hear so many encounters yet some people are afraid of ridicule and won’t let you air the interview. You could just write a book on encounters you’ve heard, and your research in the field, ext…. Everyone of us would be buying that book….not just for the research, but we gotta support ya as well!

  33. Steven D

Holy crap look at all the comments! Dang been away for a bit and…wow! Awesome show!! As always. good for you wes . chronicles spreading the good word, dropping truth bombs throughout the land!

  34. Dawn O

Creeped me out to hear that a Bigfoot grabbed a teenage boy (well he never said it was, but I’m sure it was – I wish Anthony would’ve said what the other people there said they saw that they coaxed to let the boy go) and that now he’s insane! What’s worse is that every child taken by a bigfoot makes me shed tears because of the fear they endure knowing some large hairy creature carried them off and away from their family and what they must’ve seen/heard/felt while they were taken away just breaks me heart! I agree w/ Wes, we need to kill one just to examine it…we also need a live specimen for the same reason. AND that little 5 y/o girl who saw her family being killed in that cabin or house, why didn’t the bigfoot kill her? Surely if she was hiding they could still smell her or her fear/ hear her breathing etc. Why are some stories amazing to where bigfoots help kids return to their families and some eat them? At least this podcast and the FB page is helping gather more info…I’d say everyone who has had an experience is just like a researcher….we’re gathering information because of our own individual research.

  35. Seamus J. C

Great show, and I don’t say that lightly–in fact, I never have, though I enjoy SC greatly. I put Moffet up there with Bear and Bob Garret, a guy who knows his s*%#. That’s a good point he made about getting closer when you’re alone–a double-edged sword, hey? Jane Goodall and Dian Fossey were alone, and they saw so much….Some responses to comments: I think that BF’s head is set low down on the shoulders, not that the neck is so stiff due to the muscles but rather that, anatomically, if they turn their head with just their neck the jaw hits the shoulder, because both are so big and the sasquatch is rather stooped and the neck itself is a short neck. Our neck to a sasquatch neck is like that of a polar bear to a grizzy….BTW brown bear is the overall species for grizzlies and kodiaks alike, in the lower 48 that species is referred to as “grizzly”…There would have been blood had that two-yr.-old been taken by something with fangs, you would think, it seems only BF can kill without blood and be so scary that dogs won’t follow it (maybe BF scare dogs by using their infrasound–which is a LOW frequency emission, not high as Anthony stated)–otherwise why would dogs fear them, having had no experience with them? Dogs and their trackers know to check the other side of a watercourse if the scent trail ends there. Maybe BF smell enough like skunks–? I’m going with infrasound to explain the mental confusion and paralysis that people feel, as well as the silence that reigns in the forest when they are nearby. I forget exactly where but someone on this site posted in a comment all the different ways that different frequencies of infrasound can cause damage. Maybe everything just lies low when they turn it on, and maybe they always turn it on if people are around. I wonder if some scientist somewhere can do a workup of exactly how big BF’s vocal chords would have to be in order to produce infrasound–can howler monkeys do it? It makes sense that elephants and whales can produce it, because BF might be big but they make him look tiny….And, finally, wouldn’t you be screwed even if you had the biggest handgun in the world and were able to take down one or two sasquatch with it–because then you’d have the rest, enraged, to deal with?

  36. Ronald B

Wes thanks for the show was a good show but in saying that I will say guests like this dude drive me nuts this guy loves to hear himself talk and keeps cutting Wes off he thinks he knows it all he doesn’t understand that the guy interviewing him is pretty damn savvy he’s not just your average run-of-the-mill Joe and he’s an idiot there wasn’t no mountain lion that attacked that kid
