SC EP:138 The watcher in the woods [Members]

Tonight I speak to Frankie who had two encounters with Sasquatch. The first encounter he had one cross right in front of his car. He was not sure at the time what he saw that night. He said “Now I understand that I saw a Sasquatch but at the time I really thought it was an overgrown orangutan…” Frankie also had another encounter with something large growling at him by the Sabine River in Texas. Frankie says “If you would have asked me at the time I would have said it was a lion growling at me…”

The final guest tonight is Mike Duplar, author of “The Watcher In The Woods.” Mike is an interesting person to speak to because he started out as a ghost hunter and started looking into Sasquatch. I compare and contrast the two topic and it is interesting to get Mike’s take on this topic because he feels that Sasquatch is a flesh and blood creature.

If you have had an encounter email me wes@sasquatchchronicles.com

How do we communicate with you guys on a more real time? I am new to this whole computer jazz, even though I am still relatively young!!!? I just love Wes and the whole Bigfoot sh*it! My hubby and I went up on a few old logging roads last weekend, and I was terrified! I filled my mind with hogwash, unlike keeping a logical head on my shoulders. But it’s true, about the woods going silent, and a horrific smell that envelops the air… it’s creepy.plus the strategically placed trees that make no logical sense… lemme know guys, even though this such a late post

Wes, you’re a boss my man. You been bustin your ass for us n it’s very much appreciated and you’re a fan of NWA. Best show ever. I’m proud to be along for the ride. SC FOR FOREVER AND A DAY!

  2. Rich A

Does anyone know if an ape or urangatang can cross with a bear?? Perhaps this is something that could be addressed?? What are the known limits of cross breeding in the wild??

  3. DonRay

The best explanation i’ve heard for stick structures… They are tell other creatures who is in this family area & how many…. One large main log~Top male.. The next large log~Top female…,,,, and in succession down in size………… Not sure where i read this or saw this, i’ll look for that…. They commonly change as family changes……. Sounded reasonable to me, Kind of like a census survey…..,, Great show Guys………….. Ciao

    • Jaimie C

That actually sounds quite lucid, but until they are researched the way great apes where…..which seems to be quite the challenge, we’ll not really know. But seriously, your comment sounds like food for thought. 🙂

    • Eric S

The theory that stick structures are bulilt by Sasquates to convey how many members are in their claim is not logical.
If the structures conveyed ANY common message – how would all the different clans know this?
There are over 500 American Indian tribes recognized by the U.S. Goverbment, all of who have their own language and culture.
Culture is defined as actions and symbols that are passed on to other members in a group. How would a clan of Sasquarches in Alaska know to use the same symbols as a clan in Florida?
      They would not.

      • cyndie r

Im pretty sure the Alaskan Sasquatches would not be concerned with communicating with the tropical Sasquatches in Florida. They might be a little more simplistic than that. They might be only trying to communicate with the other LOCAL Sasquatches.

      • Kate S

Actually it is fairly well documented that tribal groups, particularly the nomadic and plains groups, had a certain kind of ‘universal’ sign language that they utilised with each other, as in, with other (foreign) tribes..

The objective brain strives to accept and understand what we cannot sense, measure or quantify. It is easy for a community to be critical when we are trying to establish clear, substantiated proof and we wade through obscure alternative thoughts and opinions. This episode reminds me of why I love this site. The devil is in the details and as much as I want it to be a damn dirty ape, someone else wants it to be anthropomorphism of a wild spirit. For that, Mike, I thank you. (It’s still a damn dirty ape)

Wes, great show..you asked Mike a question..is it that people get so freaked out when they see a sasquatch because it reminds them of something from the past…my opinion, is that that is not the case. I think they get freaked out because they cannot relate to anything from the past..only speaking of that because I have had a few “spiritual” encounters..or ghosts..and they did remind me of the past and that gave me comfort…but.have never seen a sasquatch..and really don’t want to.

Having bought the book and gone through most of it, it would have been interesting to have the interview deal with some of the issues the author brought up in his work. For example the intelligence question; following food; their ability to use stealth. There are so many questions that can delved into as these creatures move from the unknown into the known by those who have taken the time to research them…

The “ghost-hunters” are playing with fire. Poor guy has been lured in. The greatest trick of the devil, is to make man think he doesn’t exist. If people mess around with that stuff long enough, eventually their minds get deceived to the point where the evil spirits convince them that there is a difference between “plain old, every day run of the mill ghosts, and the extremely evil entities. Remember the demon possessed man of the Gadarenes, or the sons of Sceva. Beings that dwell in the cemeteries’, mutilating themselves, screaming and crying out, and beating the stuffing out of many men! Ask the Almighty to show you His truth, and He just may. And by the way, the hairy ones are very much flesh and blood, and also para-normal; that is, unexplainable by science. Blessings.

    Hello,

This is one of my favorite podcasts so far. This might sound like I’m making this up but my grandmothers house was haunted and I believe Sasquatch visited my grandmothers yard. They are different. I want to ad i have had the demonic sort of encounters and they are not fun at all. They’re frightening, what kept me safe was my faith. What I do feel, is both Sasquatch and Spirits are dangerous, and they are a lot different from one another.

Thanks for the early show Wes. Always appreciate your time and effort. First guest was interesting and that East TX again!!

Second guest Bear hunter?!?! Bear baiting?!?! This guest was NOT a fave!! Lots of speculation on his part. Sounded as if he had some reverence for M Moneymaker. Booooo

  10. Kim L

Thank you Wes, great show, as usual.
I just revisited Tracys’ encounter in episode 75, reminded me just how much I DON’T MISS WILL!, and what a good job you do.
Please, don’t change anything about the episodes.
Oh yea, episode 75 reminded me, what a pair Tracy has!

  11. stephen m

Don’t believe Bigfoot is supernatural in anyway but still a good show ???? do not open any doors you cannot close ! That’s my Christian ” world view ” to which I am still entitled …… I think so anyway !!

  12. Janetta V

ALL of these ghost hunters are making a bbbiiiggg mistake thinking there are ghosts. These are evil entities from hell, that can take on different shapes and forms to fool innocent people. And the trap is set. For YOU. If you mess with this stuff that is. Stay safe Wes and leave it alone. A demon is a disembodied spirit looking for a place to live. Ephesians 6. That’s what I call good homework. My Christian view as well. Best to all out there.

Idk if this is a response to what is old news but to make a viable offspring (one that can reproduce and survive in it’s environment) the mother and father need to have chromosomes that are equal in number and size (homologous pairs). When u stray from this path but not too far you get sterile offspring like mules or ligers. For an offspring to be born with any kind of actual fitness you require to have a mother and father with the same amount of gamete chromosomes and the same basic “size” of chromosomes. You need to be able to pair them up so they more or less match up. If they’re not even close there’s no hope of hybridization

    • Eric S

      Aaron L –
      Your statement is not correct.
“It is commonly believed that for two species to be able to interbreed, they must have the same number of chromosomes. While this is true in most cases there are many exceptions. For example, a horse (64 chromosomes) and a zebra (44 chromosomes) can produce viable offspring. If the animals have a different number of chromosomes, the animal with the smaller number must be the male (e.g., a male zebra and a female horse could produce a foal, but a female zebra could not be impregnated by a male horse). What is most important is that the chromosomes that do match up are homologous.”

    I agree great show!
But OMG!!!!!!………………………. every week there is another accent different from the last! It amazes me. Once again GREAT show, Cheers

  15. Jonathan B

Here is my theory bigfoot lives in the woods, they are connected to the woods. There are natural phenomenon happing in the woods and they are aware of this.may even now how to use it to there advantage.

  16. Eric S

    Wes:
Can you please give us an update on when we can hear the shows with the guests you mentioned:
    * David Paulides
    * Dr. Melba Ketchum
    * Mitchel Townsend (Dental Proof of Large Hominins in Washington)
    * The guest who’s home is under Sasquatch assault.
    Thank you.

  17. Debbie C

    I enjoyed Frankie’s interview.
Mike Dupler interview very interesting to me because he too has witnessed the paranormal.
Ghosts/spirits find me, I don’t go looking for them.
I’ll be looking into his book as well:)

    Jay Acks;
“Episode cuts out right in the middle”…
I didn’t have any problems with hearing these fine men speak about their encounters.
Nothing cut out at all on my end.

  18. Gail d

I agree with Wes I don’t like the ghost hunting thing, I think demons can be tricky. You don’t know what is going on. To scary for me. Rather deal with Squatches!!

  19. Jay Carlsen

I have heard of the Upside Down Tree’s in the Circles of the occult. With People Planting Tree’s in the ground upside down? ( I really didn’t Understand the reason behind this ?)
I think Ghost are all around us . I do not think there is a Straight Road to Heaven. Every one that was Here , still are Here , We ALL are waiting for that Terrible Day of Judgement.

  20. Andrew O

Maybe this one show will get my girlfriend and her sister interested in Sasquatch, as both of them believe in ghosts (and investigation programmes), but not in sasquatches.

I believe in the latter, but do not have much time for ghostly goings on.

Considering your guest, Mike, started out ghost hunting, and then switched to bigfoot remonstrates loads to me!

  21. Alexander

I have a hard time with Sasquatch being paranormal. I find it hard to believe that a supernatural creature would be chilling in the woods and have minimal contact with humans. It just seems kinda odd to have a demon, alien, etc. like being running around chasing deer and smelling horrible in the woods. Ya know?

  22. Elaine L

Good stories for sure but I just wanted to clear up an error commonly made by many people. On the coast of British Columbia, located in the Pacific Northwest of Canada is Vancouver Island. It has a population of almost 1,000,000 people and an area mass of 31,285 km² The other large coastal island which was once called the Queen Charlotte Islands but is now called by its indigenous name ‘Haida Gwaii’. It has a population of approximately between 5000 – 6000 people and an area size of 10,180 km². The Canadian island that many mistakenly refer to is Prince Charles Island. It’s a Canadian island in the far north above the Arctic Circle in the Foxe Basin, off the west coast of Baffin Island, in the Qikiqtaaluk Region of Nunavut, Canada. It has an area size of 9,521 km2 and is uninhabited.

Structures have naught to do with communication. That’s why they have speech. Let’s see, I want eggs for breakfast. I hope my wife reads my stick structure before next month! That’s not feasible.
