SC EP:1104 A Moment In Time I Will Not Forget

Tonight I will be speaking to Matt and John. John writes “My wife and I went for a trail run in Scottsburg, IN in the summer of 2005 and came upon a clearing where we saw a large creature that stopped us in our tracks. It was approximately 50 yards away when we came upon it but we immediately felt unsafe and froze in our tracks as we stared at it. We left the area pretty quickly.

Matt writes “Hello, I caught your podcast the other day and at the end you advised that people who have experienced encounters could contact you. I have spoke to very few people about what I experienced but would like to get the stories out there.

A little background about me. I am a Systems Analyst. I am from southern California both my experiences happened at a remote lake in the San Rafael Wilderness about an hour North of Santa Barbara.

The first encounter involves what I believe to be a bipedal Bigfoot type animal and the second encounter has to do with something very large in the small but deep lake I lived and worked at.”

    So…I’m very confused by the location of John’s account. It doesn’t add up.

    In his message to Wes, he wrote:

    “My wife and I went for a trail run in Scottsburg, IN in the summer of 2005 and came upon a clearing where we saw a large creature that stopped us in our tracks…”

    However, in his recount, the transcript states:

    “…And that summer, we have some family that live in rural Southern Indiana that went on vacation and they asked us to house it for them while they were gone.

    “They didn’t have a huge amount of land, but about six acres that ran east to west, kind of a rectangular lot that was almost all forestry, which, you know, Southern Indiana, there’s huge Hoosier National Forest, you know, it’s a very rural area.

    “Well, their property was, you know, their house was kind of in the front, and then, you know, it had this forest behind it.

    “And to the north of the property was a good amount of land that was being farmed, so it’s cleared. You know, the land to the north of their property was cleared for the most part.”

    None of that makes sense geographically.

    I live in Southern Indiana in Jeffersonville, which is 30 miles south of Scottsburg.

    Hoosier National Forest is not near Scottsburg at all – let alone in the property setup he gives.

    The two are an hour apart, with Hoosier National Forest being to the northeast in the Bedford. Google maps can prove this.

    I’d like to think he meant Clark State Forest, which is notoriously known locally as a Bigfoot hotspot.

    The layout of the land he gives still leaves that location as sort of a stretch for making his story fit to that area but it would make more sense.

    I hope he sees this and can clarify.

    I am not trying to be a killjoy. I actually get excited to hear anyone from my area talking to Wes. I like to go check out those areas.

    I am confident we do have Bigfoot here – I firmly believe that after getting to know some trustworthy experiencers here.

    So, his story could be true.

    However, I’m a trained old-school journalist, so I just feel it’s important we get facts straight.

    Zaca Lake where Matt worked and was lifted out of the water in his canoe, I just read that Friday The 13th Final Chapter and the classic Creature From The Black Lagoon were filmed. What a cool place to visit!

    I’ve heard about this lake before, a family friend of mine and his wife in 2000 actually went to camp over there at that lake and he said that there was a lot of really strange stuff that happened there and even talked about one of the tribal elders telling them specifically not to go out onto the lake at night and not to go directly into the middle of the lake or else the “chief’s spirit” would take you under. I also remember him telling us that there was some sort of lore that the canoes would somehow drift directly into the middle of the lake on their own. Idk but I remember him and his wife also said that when they spent the night they heard lots of strange noises around them in the middle of the night like people walking around them but no one was there when they looked and it got so bad that they even ran to their car and left in the middle of the night and he told us that he saw something in a tree very high above the road as they were leaving and that it looked almost like a snipers nest with someone in it he described. But definitely strange because he also claimed that this lake was bottomless because no one has ever been able to find mark the length of the bottom! Super weird coincidence hearing about this today !

    Fish will “pipe” or gulp air at the surface trying to get breath oxygen due to depleted dissolved oxygen levels in the water column. An abundance of algae, like an algal bloom, will deplete dissolved oxygen concentrations causing a fish kill.
