The story I’m going to share is my great grandfather’s and honestly I have never heard of another experience like it and I’m wondering if it is common.

So one weekend day in I want to say 98 ish might of been 99 I was a teenager and on weekends during the summer my grandpa hayed on his farm in brownfield maine. my uncle who was only a few years older than me and myself show up to his farm which over looked the field and I noticed that round bales were all moved I was like oh he must of moved them with the tractor.

Round bales weigh about 1200 lbs. So we wander inside and I ask him hey grandpa how come you did the round bales without us there to help you. And he said I didn’t. I said what do you mean you didn’t who did?. He said it had started about a week or so before we talked to him he came out one morning and the bales were moved. He called all the older members of the family to ask who did it he wanted to thank them. Everyone said they didn’t so he said well he knew wasn’t me or my uncle because both of us couldn’t drive.

So he was really stumped about it. So then the next night it happens again so now he’s thinking someone is messing with me. So he calls the sheriffs department and reports he makes money off these and if someone breaks one or someone gets hurt it’s going to be trouble or he will lose money. So then the next night nothing they are the same place ok he goes now I know someone is messing with me. So a night or 2 passes and he’s up grabbing a drink and he sees movement out in the field it’s probably 1 or 2 am so he like I got them finally he turned on the outside light he had big light that shined in the field from the house and he saw these great big hairy things he said he thought they were bears. I’m thinking all we have is black bears yes they could probably move the bales but he said they were huge they looked human and walked normal. So he thought well these guys are messing with me it’s some one in a costume.

So he calls the sheriff and reports it. Of course the sheriff comes out but they had wandered off I said they wandered off mind you this is very rural Maine. He said they just walked into the woods. I. Like ok grandpa let me get this straight some giant dudes in costumes or bears walked off into the woods he said yes I said ok. My grandpa was a sharp guy had his mind and wasn’t crazy. Then he goes on to say every couple of nights they would come back and push the bales around. So say to him hey you are describing bigfoot I only knew about it from unsolved mysteries. He just said huh and said that’s crazy it’s just gotta be a few people messing around I said ok grandpa I knew not to argue it wouldn’t go anywhere lol. I talked to him a few weeks after that and he said they stopped coming out.
