Figure filmed in the Lettuce Lake Park Florida

One of the members asked me to repost this video. What are your thoughts?

Newstime96 writes “A mysterious figure was caught on camera by a canoist in marshlands outside of Tampa, Florida.

The video was recorded in Lettuce Lake Park, a 240-acre region of Hillsborough County consisting of extensive swampland and hardwood forests that remain popular visitor attractions.

The footage shows an unidentified creature slowly making its way through the water in the background while partially obscured by the foliage in the foreground. The figure is difficult to make out in detail but does appear to be humanoid in shape.
The person who filmed it had initially believed the creature to be a bear but was later told by a park ranger that bears are only rarely sighted in the area and generally keep away from the swamp.”

“I never put much faith in the old skunk ape legends but when I looked closer I noticed that it had long, swinging arms and moved through very thick swamp with ease,” he wrote.

It does look very similar to the creature in a video someone (forgot who) recorded and posted within the last couple years. In the video, the setting is like this one. It’s in a swampy area and shows the back of a black haired, bipedal, creature in a crouched position, that appears and sounds like it was ripping apart, or breaking pieces off, of a rotted, hollowed out tree stump. It was a long video, compared to most. Not like the one I saw. (EP: 684)

The footage you’re talking about is even better then this one imo. Think it’s labeled Mississippi Swamp Ape or close to that. It’s definitely in Mississippi though.

Yes, I always like that Mississippi Swamp Ape, I believe south of Memphis.
However this Lettuce Lake one I liked when it very first surfaced. It was soon proved to be a hoax by well know Florida Bigfoot invesitigator Renee Monteith. The two guys who filmed this had also produced clear frauds a few months earlier with an alligator with two heads, and another with a skunk ape’s head just coming up from the water, which was nothing more than a Bigfoot skulpter statue with it head exposed above the water line.

I live in Hillsborough County, know for a fact Sasquatch are here, and have spoken with the park ranger Matt originally showed the video to. She, however is hesitant to admit that this was indeed, a Skunk Ape, and was uncomfortable discussing the video.
If you look at a map, you’ll see there is a greenbelt that connects south Florida in the Everglades all the way north into Georgia, Alabama, and beyond making a clear route for the few panthers, bobcat, bear and yes, Skunk Apes to traverse.
While development is eating up our wildlife’s habitat at lightening speed, there is still a distinct pathway through our forests, wetlands and swamps for them to remain mostly elusive.
Not far from Lettuce Lake Park is Hillsborough State Park where my son and I had our second audio encounter here in Florida in the form of ‘mock owl’ hoots from two separate directions and pacing our trek out of the primitive campsites located on the far northern boarder of the park.
I can assure you this video is the real deal – alligators, water moccasins and alligator snapping turtles are in abundance here and no one person would ever risk being bitten by any of those critters while wading waist deep in this swamp.
The movement of the camera off the subject can easily be explained. You can hear a single oar hit the side of the canoe, and I don’t know about you, but as a well seasoned paddler, I wouldn’t be able to keep the camera steady with one hand while holding an oar with the other and trying to remain in one spot while floating in moving water and trying to keep quiet and cool while filming a creature that most people think is a myth. Lettuce Lake is fed by the Hillsborough river. Just sayin’.

The direction the leaves were floating from suggests he reached a pretty impassable area beyond that point. The camera felt as though it was mounted to the kayak/boat on a tripod with an arm for panning shots. The lack of initial movement or ripple of the water suggests the craft was anchored…as well as the bounce back of the craft which negates him from turning around like he hit the end of an anchor rope. He also “shushes” someone and says “let’s go” to a person not mentioned for some reason. Everything seems pretty staged to me, but I’m never always right either. The only thing I found interesting was a water drop like distortion found slightly up and to the left of the “creature” which was not on the lens itself but may have been an unfocused leaf in the very near foreground.

The BFRO has chapters in different states with independent people investigating encounters and doing research and you can’t equate the Florida BFRO with everything bad about Matt Moneymaker.

After roughly 42 years in this game, the acctions of that group across the board, in many states, has been abysmal. I’ve seen it first hand, over and over again.
They are a clearinghouse for only the information they want to allow out.

Tens of thousands of individuals have had their reports changed, altered or downright eliminated.
They have harrassesd people, trespassed on their land, criticized and ridiculed.
I don’t know about you but when I deal with any organization I look at the head of that org. As the person who controls the group dynamics.

The assclown at the head of this one has proven time and time again that his ego is his prime motivation.. aside from his “name” anyway .

I saw speculation.. lots of it.

But there was no confirmation of anything pertaining to this footage.

Kinda like the PG footage, theres lots of speculation, even a guy Bob Heironomous(sp) that claims he was in a monkey suit.. but no confirmation of a hoax.

If you knew what these “swamps” consisted of here you would realize there ain’t too many that are going to risk the cottonmouths, gators, vibrio, flesh eating bacteria, brain eating ameobas and assorted other dangers to crawl around through that mess in or out of a suit. Us locals are well aware of all of these.

Thats not to say no one would do it.

But again, there is no ” confirmation of a hoax” in that link.
