Christopher vanished into thin air

Mysteries seem to arise quite a bit in Harris County, Georgia, as detailed in our first article. Christopher Thompkins left his house at 8:10 am on January 25, 2002, for a normal day at-work; this day was far from normal though — Christopher vanished into thin air and has never been seen again, and the case has stumped top law enforcement officers and web sleuths ever since.

FRIDAY, JANUARY 25, 2002
Thompkins was one of four surveyors assigned to a stretch of woods located along Warm Springs Road and Georgia 85, adjacent to County Line Road. He was working with his three co-workers, spaced-out 50 feet from each other and walking in the same direction — he was also the last one in the line. Thompkins and the co-worker in-front of him were engaged in a conversation within eyesight of each other; the co-worker turned his head for a split second, by the time he looked back, Thompkins was gone.

One of the co-workers eventually phoned their boss around 1 p.m. to inform them of Christopher’s disappearance; they then called 911 to report that he had simply “vanished.” Christopher Thompkins’ mother (Mrs. Ann Mckenzie) wasn’t contacted about her son’s disappearance until 4:15 that evening. Law Enforcement Officer’s relayed to the Thompkins family that they had to wait 24 hours to file a missing person’s report. The Thompkins’ family rallied together volunteers and searched the area for Christopher.

They found the following items along the fence-line near where he was working.

Work Boot hanging on the barbed wire fence
Work tools
A blue fiber from his pants
12 cents

MONTHS LATER
Christopher’s second work boot is found miles away near private property off I-85.

I had read about this case in missing 411,unbelievable how they can be so silent and fast. Its like the people dont even have time to scream.I wonder if thats because they are killed instantly.

I feel like the 12¢ (falling out of his pocket) with the shoe is telling of someone or something picking him up and carrying him off. Horrible for the family to always wonder…

looking at the map and taking into account the location chris went missing, if this truly is a sasquatch related event, the theory of sasquatch living among us is very prudent here. there are communities all around this area, densely wooded areas are noted all around but if the account is accurate, I-85 is many more miles away from the missing persons sight, hell i’d say 100-150 miles away. I’m thinking they meant Georgia 85 which runs parallel with the location. but back to the “they live among us” theory, whatcha think?

You made a very good observation there just exactly what highway was it? That really does make a difference here…I mean if he was kidnapped by a person just how many miles would they go>>?

Richard S watch the newest episode of Bigfoot Odyssey, it takes place in Louisiana. I realized that the location they are talking about is 4.3 miles from my house. The family in the episode lives in a somewhat rural subdivision,as we all do here. But there are gas stations every block or two, with multiple retail businesses like CVS, Pep Boys, Walgreens, major chain grocery stores, and lots of places to go out to dinner. Not to mention large numbers of single houses not in the new developments like we live in. There are also lots of fields, still being planted, and small patches of woods. So I guess my answer is yes they do live among us. I thought they were all in the Atchafalaya Basin or in the northern part of the state in the pine woods but I guess not. Very sobering.

Well, were not safe anywhere it seems, in my opinion we are under attack like never before. These beings be it Sasquatch or Dogman, etc. are in the evil realm of our now daily existence. How do we deal with this when you can’t even take a casual hike in the outdoors without thinking if your going to be next…Freedom is lost.

Karen C it is scary to wake up to the fact that monsters are real and living in our neighborhoods. I remember every time I watched a horror movie growing up comforting myself by saying, “this isn’t real. Monsters don’t exist in real life. “

The question then becomes what do Bigfoot do w/their abductees? R they used for food, slaves, companions? What? I’ve not heard of any accounts of humans being seen “with” bigfoot, at least in recent history. So, what becomes of them? Scary to ponder.

How sad. That’s why they don’t need protected. 411 talks about the last person in line. It must happen so quickly because no one has time to ever yell. Scary OMG ??

I’m familiar with this story and I believe it could have only been a sasquatch because something carried the man off. The man got snagged on a barbed wire fence, leaving gene fibers, tool belt, and a boot there. He wasn’t walking if he left a single boot behind. Change on the ground showed he was turned upside down and change fell out. A correction to this article: the other boot was found 900 yards away by the property owner, not miles away. But he didn’t walk 900 yards in one boot. Something took him.

What does that say about being the last person in line?

Renee S the answer is easy. They eat us. We are easy to catch. They know about firearms so they avoid those. We are slow, we can’t defend ourselves from them. We are probably tasty to them. One whack in the head and we’re done. Small enough to carry easily. In short we are a fast food meal with clothes on. The native Americans told us about the ‘stealers of men’ and how they would devour children. Yep we are on their menu we the opportunity presents itself.

Warm Springs Road (called Manchester Expressway when you get closer to Columbus, GA) is Ga. Hwy. 85/Alt. Hwy. 27. County Line Road crosses Hwy. 85 just south of the Harris County-Muscogee County Line. I-185 crosses Manchester Expressway just after Peachtree Mall. I-185 connects to I-85 just north of the Walmart Distribution Center and Hwy. 109 (Greenville Road) and east of LaGrange, GA. We used to live in Warm Springs and Woodbury, and I traveled these roads almost daily for a long time. The area between Woodbury and Warm Springs is known as “Booger Bottom”, although I never heard of any sightings in the area.

Hi Knobby, that and other curious disappearances were and continue to be discussed on Sasquatch Chronicles Forum (Members only) has puzzled sleuths for a very long time. That unfortunate account occurred in broad daylight and unnoticed by his peers on a road survey work crew.

“What does that say about being the last person in line?” It means to suggest that public isn’t being warned of such potential hazards and dangers of the known and unknown.

What does that say about being the last person in line?

It means to suggest that our “nanny state” who seeks to control every aspect of our lives does a pretty fair job of warning the asleep public about smoking cigarettes, drinking soft drinks, accepting straws from restaurants, wearing seatbelts – but not against wearing crash helmets, stop signs, street lights, motor vehicles, baby cribs, potholes, etc., and do so with such precision that it seems odd that it would avoid acknowledging any discussion or the question of Bigfoots – especially in National and State parks Why?

What does that say about being the last person in line?

Smart people hiking in single file formation do so with an alarmed tether attached to the individual in front and behind them.

NEOSHA and most state occupational health agencies monitor strict adherence to safety and require safety belt tethers to be used when working in heights; linemen, roofers, window washers, bridge maintenance, construction workers etc.

I wonder if the Sasquatch just come from behind and twist the necks like they do w/deer? Then, as mentioned, it’s easy for them to sling a person over their shoulder and make off w/them, which accounts for the dropped change or other loose clothing items and shoes to fall along the way. Gumshoguy, the alarmed tether attachments sound good in theory. However, I wonder if it wouldn’t just anger the creature, then it would jerk the whole group down? I would hope at least one, if not all, of the hikers had a weapon to defend themselves from such an attack. Also, what if next time (just thinking out loud, here), the creature brings a friend or two because he didn’t get what he wanted the first time?
