Scot Violette has searched for more than two decades for one of the world’s most notorious “cryptids” — Bigfoot, a legendary species also known as Sasquatch.  

Skamania County, Washington, a 1984 ordinance states that killing this ape-like creature can get you a year in jail, a $1,000 fine or both.
