Mill Race Monster

On November 1, 1974, the Columbus Police Department received a series of panicked reports from no less than two sets of eyewitnesses, all of whom claimed to have seen (and even been attacked by) a huge, bipedal, green-skinned monstrosity that took to skulking near the waterways inside Indiana’s 83-acre Mill Race Park.

These encounters would alarm locals and lead to what some consider to be the biggest “monster hunt” in the history of the United States.

I think back to all the times and places I used to go when I was younger in South Carolina. Woods were everywhere, still are. I would never go to those places now lol! Especially after the scream I heard. It was in an area called Wassamassaw. Berkeley County, South Carolina. Bordering Dorchester County. It was Calamus Pond Rd near Black Creek.

Isn’t it amazing to look back & realize all the things we did as kids that were so dangerous and wrong. It makes me think of that picture my mom used to have. These two little children are being escorted by a big Angel over a foot bridge that’s over rocky water below. Babes in the Woods!

Go down i-10 from Houston to Beaumont, exit past Beaumont near Vidor take Texas State highway 12 to deweyville and mauricevoll. Swear on my garandmothers grave I saw the biggest stray dog off the side of the road 5 years ago. In no way am I saying it was a dogman or bigfoot. But man it was huge. Had to be at least 4 feet long. Understand this was 7 in the morning. And I was was going to coushatta casino in kinder la only because I 10 was backed up because of a wreck. The stray dog was huge! It looked like a husky with a lot of mange. Almost like it had been abandoned. It freaked me and my girlfriend out. One of the reasons why I listen and subscribe to the show. My girlfriend at the time wanted to take a picture of it, but man I was not going to pull over. First off, I wanted to get to the casino, secondly the heck with whatever that was. Anyway, sorry about the long post. But it’s kind of the reason why I like this website and are a member. Like I said not sure what I saw , might have been a stray dog but man was it huge. It was a few miles past the Sabine River , so I was definately into Louisiana.

      Hey Bal,

Yes, that is a lonely haul between D-Ville and the HWY to LA, on that stretch, the back way. I’ve done the same thing, but thankfully haven’t seen any creatures. People in that part are afraid of the night. They say a booger’ll git ya! I used to get so mad & say stop spreading fear. There aren’t any “boogers” in the woods. Boy, talk about wrong! I just wish they’d have a straight story & stop acting all spooky and vague about it, because it never stopped the kids from going in the woods! Oh, yeah, isn’t there a place down that stretch called “Devils Cove” or something like that?

Anyway, you’re post was Not Too Long! I try to read the post frequently & enjoy various stuff from different parts of this country.
