Bigfoot Shot – Exclusive! Never Told Until Now!

Spoke to the witness this morning for a an hour or so. I was unable to convince him to come on the show but it is one of my favorite encounters.

      This guy is also interviews on Sasquatch Watch Radio. I like to listen to the same encounters on different shows to see if additional info is revealed, or if there were inconsistencies. His story seems genuine, but there is one pretty big discrepancy in my mind.

      Compare what he says at 42:30 on the Sasquatch watch interview to 14:05 on this interview.

      On Sasquatch Chronicles he says he saw the big one pick up the small by it’s arm like a rag doll after he shot it. On Sasquatch watch he says he didn’t quite see how all that happened but the small on was on the back of the big one. Maybe he was just filling in what he though happened.

      Conclusion…. it was a bear.

          I have been through and have family in this area. Plenty of food and full of pockets and hollers that are completely sequestered from human traffic. This gentlemen knows the local fauna and misidentification really isn’t a consideration given his description of both organisms. I wonder why he shot the smaller female rather than the male. Was the female closer or the male just too gigantic to bring down without a skilled head shot? He is VERY fortunate to be alive. Had these been Deep South boogs, we probably wouldn’t be hearing this narrative.

          i was kidding about the bear remark. I don’t think my sense of humor is transmitted very well through forum posts. I know he wasn’t testifying under oath, but sometimes people treat these accounts as if they were.

          I was trying to point out that when people recount a story, it may not be word for word the same each time, but skeptics will use any reason such as a inconsistenty to dismiss an account. Kind of like they tried to do with Wes’s full moon comment in his story.

          But yes, a good account I’ve listened to several times

          The other day I caught a thresher shark fishing and someone asked me if I was sure it wasn’t a bear a lot of that going around all the time. It turns out every damn thing on the planet is a bear lol

    Why did he need to kill the young female? I’m not pro kill. He should have backed up & walked out of there. The big BF could have killed this guy if he was an aggressive animal!

      Fear ? Fear can make you do Funny Things that you don’t think you are Capable of. ( I am not pro kill either – for I believe they are a People . Feral People – But still People. ) ( Ask the Native American , they all say they are a People. Dangerous – Unpredictable , they Possess Hypnotic Powers ……. But still People )
      Yes , It could have Squashed Him. But it does show Intelligence , As didn’t It Reason ? That this Scared little Man still HAD the Gun ?
      And Make something or someone Bleed . don’t You Yourself offer your Undivided Attention to anything that Cause You To Bleed ?
      ( Of COURSE You Do ) Do You Log it into your Memory ? As something to Be Careful with ? or even saying if You Seen something cause someone Else to Bleed? Wouldn’t you also make a Mental Note of That ?
      These Things KNOW what Guns Are . And they Know they can Make you Bleed . They do not come to Town , to see a Doctor. So Whatever could make them Bleed ? Would be Something to Avoid. ( Wouldn’t It ?)

      David,
      This guy knew nothing about Bigfoot when he shot it. Its not like he was a researcher looking into this. I think I would have done the same thing, he was reacting without thinking because of fear. It was not a well thought out reaction…having said that I am not above saying I would have probably had the same emotional reaction of shooting.

    This is one of my all time favorite accounts. Totally believable. I didn’t realize it happened in Tazell (sp?) county, I remember a fairly report of a hunter that mysteriously went missing in this county.

    Old story that I heard back in the beginning of my “awakening”. Don’t remember if Wes & will were the first interviewers but close in my recollection.

    Wes never had this on before. When I heard it years back it was on the Crypto Crew. Great story. I was amazed at how the big one carried the other one up the sheer cliff, but we have heard a lot of the almost supernatural things since this story aired. I wanted to kick the MIB, where the sun don’t shine. I get tired of them nosing into every stupid thing. Shoot them all.

    I have seen this story before on the internet and the details remained consistent.. Perhaps it was the same provider that I saw before, I can’t remember where exactly it was posted- but it had the same map as well…

    You’re right that this was on SC previously. He also was on other podcasts. Trying so hard to recall where he first showed up. Monster X or CryptoLogic perhaps. Either way, he’s gotten around.

    yes, episode 16, and it wasn’t an interview (if you listen closely), it was Wes and Will responding to the recorded interview. So it WOULD be nice for Wes to get this guy on. Keep persuading him!

    This was by far one of my favorite BF encounters stories of all time, I heard this couple of years ago before SC came onto the air….the man takes you back into the event, especially you can see it in your minds eye the male standing up from behind the thicket….crazy crazy scary.

    I grew up in the county beside tazewell county I’m very familiar with the county this happened and yes a hunter did go missing from this county I worked for the same company as the missing guy he still hasn’t been found I was told that they brought in search dogs but they couldn’t track him

    I have yet to listen to it here but I think I know the story. Its on youtube and I even turned my mom on too it. The guy hunter sounds credible in my opinion. The way he talks and delivers the story I can almost put myself in his shoes.
    Only thing is if it were me I would have gotten my posse crew some with shotguns and buckshot and others with Large caliber rifles and a good coon dog. It went up the mountain and there was snow so there is tracks and a blood trail. The next morning start out on that track and if its an animal it wont go far till it lays down. The big one I would think will leave the dead little one once that dog gets on its track.
    So right there you got your body.
    The hunter talks of having a drop tine buck on camera and the neighbor had the same buck on camera but no talk of a bigfoot on camera.
    243 is a fast but light round and not one I would use to hunt bears or anything large. Deer and coyotes yes, sasquatch HELL NO.
    A shot right to the chest is survivable if it does not hit the heart or go thru both lungs. Plenty of deer and bears survive a bullet or arrow with one lung…that’s for all you non-hunters out there reading this. Plain and simple you have to let the air outta some game to insure its dead. Once an arrow or bullet passes thru the diaphragm and make it collapse the animal in theory drowns. The breath it has is its last. Even mortally wounded animals can live if left and not jumped from their bed. It seems to me they have a nack of healing that hole quick by licking it or guts plugging it.
    So the small bigfoot may have lived for all we know. It sounds to me that the BF pair may have been passing thru and the hunter just caught it up on its feet in daylight. He says he hunted the area all his life and he never mentioned seeing anything strange prior to the sighting.
    I have spoken to WVA bear guys who run dogs and they have told me they jumped something that their top bear dogs refused to track. I staright up asked them, could it be BF and both said yes at the same time and they never even cracked a smile.

    Anthony L., the man I was thinking of was Eric Smith. I looked it up last night. He disappeared on Nov. 8, 2013. He sounded like a really nice, well-liked man and it is so sad he has not been found. Yes, tracking dogs were unable to find him and he was hunting on his own land, I believe. it is a terrible tragedy.

      Yes that’s him I never met him personally because he worked in a different part of the company but he was a good man everyone loved him never heard anything bad about him.

    I don’t remember the episode number, but I remember this guy on SC. It was one of my favorites until I heard the Hanobie episode…Sorry about spelling. I am so grateful I started listening to SC on Youtube a few years ago….then the podcasts.

    I’m not even goin to listen to this one. ? I am comfortable shooting aggressive creatures that are coming at you, and you think you’re going to die if you don’t take the shot. But to shoot one, just to shoot one? Not OK with that! Especially when young creatures are shot. Upsets me VERY much. ?

    This report/narrative has fascinated me since the first time I heard it. My gut instinct, absent any way to even begin corroborating the event, is that it happened. That being said, I have a problem with the part where MIB showing up at the witness’s door threatening retribution if he doesn’t shut up. For the record, I don’t believe they somehow get wind of every car-booger accident and practically beat local LE to the scene & confiscate the carcass, then force the responding agency to falsify official reports/records (a serious criminal malfeasance charge in every jurisdiction I have worked) either. That being said, I know some very experienced people in the field who are adamant that both happen regularly. Like most booger related opinions one is as viable as the next, at least until somebody shows up at a major college Biology Department with a big stinky dead booger in the bed of his truck…

    Yes, I listened to this one a year or two ago and it’s still at the top of the best encounters I’ve ever heard, not just because of the shooting of the sasquatch, but notifying the ranger who kicks up the line and the two MIBs come to intimidate the man to keep quiet about it.

    I remember listening to this quite a while back specifically cause it happened in Virginia. Most encounters I here come out of WVA . Even this guy is in Southwest Va, which is very close to the West Va boarder , Tennesee , & North Carolinia to the south. I’ve only heard of a few encounters or sightings in Northern Va. It’s very populated in NOVA as its really all become a suburb of Washington DC. I know many of guys who even commute from WVA to the city. Being a good hour to 1.5 hrs away. Well unless it’s rush hour that is.Put it this way , a 20 mile drive has taken me 2 1/2 hours on several occasions . Never the less just to say it’s crazy populated here. Even so I know there still are areas that BF’s come through. There are Civil War battlefields / historical areas that are protected from development. Areas that have vast resources cover and waterways that I absolutely believe they use . Routes that go up into the Blue Ridge Mtns/ Shenendohah National Park , which the Appalachian trail cuts right through and is known to be a hot bed of activity from as far North or South in each direction . I frequent an area that I’ve followed and could easily slip right through all the way up undetected by anyone. Some of which is the most dense brush one could ever imagine . Going back there I never even thought of this subject at all, that all changed from various incidents . I’d of never even heard of S/C had I not put it all together . I will now never go through that area without either being with someone as well as being armed, exp at night. I don’t think anyone unless if they were in this guys position could they say what they would of done. Sounds like it was instinct . Following instinct in many cases is be the difference between life or death. This isn’t a story in which this guy went out looking to ever have the experience or shoot a BF.
