so my interest in this topic is really because it fascinates and entertains me. I’m still not 100% convinced the creature exists though. however I keep an open mind. the first time I saw it heard of dr. meldrum was probably 15 years ago (because that’s when I really got into the topic) he was in a documentary. anyway that was incredible to me- a real actual phd professor who is not hiding from anyone that he believes in Bigfoot. so even though I’m no one just a regular dude he had my respect for that alone. I watched anything Bigfoot that I find. some stuff I think is junk I’m not gonna lie. if dr. meldrum was in it though – then that’s the real deal. I’m Christian so I hope he was a man of faith also. sorry for the loss to everyone that truly knew him and loved him. it’s going to be really strange not seeing him in new documentaries he was my gauge on their value.

Thank you Wes. As always, you undertake a project with care and class. This is a wonderful tribute to Dr Jeff. It truly captures the man and his work through the eyes of those who knew him well and loved him. There were many who rushed to address Dr. Meldrum’s passing in the first day or two. Thank you for taking the time to properly honor a very special person who contributed so much to this field.

I believe nothing is ever lost of the knowledge we accumulate through lifetimes of experience, hidden perhaps for a time. “A swift sunrise on a far green shore” like Gandalf said. Anyway, nobody is lost either, just not in the same set of circumstances anymore, no longer there to answer the phone, but not lost to the Almighty.
Dr Meldrum was kind to return my emails when I wrote to describe encounters I had, invited me to join a scientific discussion that frankly was over my head, I never joined. I wanted to discuss but not really provide a scientific paper. This song about the creature has been brewing for a while and wanted to share it now. Part of a year long series of songs to remind my friends to say “Rabbit Rabbit Rabbit” first thing at the beginning of each month. It is harder than you might think to remember to say it. I wrote this little song never expecting Dr. Meldrum to pass away. He has gone to the great western sunset before the rest of us, but we will all be going in God’s time. I don’t mean to make light of the creatures, just so happens my experiences were not bad ones, not scary. We must all now soldier on without one of the best leaders.

I didn’t know him but felt like i knew him. He brought respect to the field and a reminder to take the time and really analyse findings- he did not get his reputation by making hasty judgements, rather thoughtful ones. Thank you for acknowledging him, Wes!

Thank you.

Thanks, Wes. My husband and I enjoyed Dr. Meldrum speaking at this years Bigfoot Conference in Tennessee. He was the guest note speaker and ended the conference for us. He was so knowledgeable and enjoyed sharing stories of his work and findings. May he rest in peace. Now he knows all the things!
