White County, GA Vocalizations

Northeast Georgia Legends writes “After a very very quiet November, the first week of December and cold temperatures in the North Georgia Mountains has sparked a 3-day increase of activity.

Starting on December 1st and ending Tuesday of the following week a number of occurrences have happened…

Howls occurred several nights in a row, with one single night of something knocking on my house while we were all asleep (the recorder was actually on my front porch due to the rain we’ve been experiencing).

On Monday night, a large, bipedal-like sounding creature was standing outside my house (maybe 10-20 feet from the front door) as I went on the front porch for a cigarette. Whatever it was, was startled IMMEDIATELY and quickly walked (did not run) and shuffled the leaves as it disappeared into the woods before I could see what it was. It was a large creature that sounded like making long strides through the leaves with 2 feet on the ground. My dog cried for about 15 minutes afterward. Long story short, always have a flashlight ready when I go outside.

On Tuesday night, interesting finger snaps were heard in my front yard while I went outside again. I had my flashlight this time but shining in the direction of the sound caused it to cease and nothing was visible. I know Elk (which haven’t been spotted in North Georgia) sometimes can make clicking sounds and oddly I even have a random “ghost” dog that visits my yard whenever I leave the recorder out that makes strange clicking/finger snap/rock clacking like sounds as it approaches and sniffs the recorder. Still, haven’t seen the thing…

The most interesting part is after an entire month of peace and quiet, all of this stirs up together over the course of 3-4 days and then disappears as fast as it begins. Also seems to be a recurring thing from the past few months, spaced out in a number of weeks.

Check out part 1 and 2 in my channel for previous sounds recorded in October and November.

White County, GA. BFRO’s number 1 county in the state of Georgia for recent sightings. Right outside the Chattahoochee National Forest and a number of state parks, the Sautee-Nacoochee Valley is a hotbed for winter sightings in the state of Georgia. Sautee is directly North of the small, tourist town of Helen, GA, nestled in the Appalachian foothills in Northeast Georgia and featured on the very first episode of Finding Bigfoot.

Howls were recorded on Tascam DR-05 placed overnight on a mountain slope next to my property (which borders the great Chattahoochee National Forest).”

I live here!!! I had no idea!! I’ve been wanting to drive up to the mountains above Helen one night and sit up in one of the scenic lookouts and see if I can hear anything in the valleys below, but I can’t find anyone that’s willing to go with me that doesn’t think I’m nuts ?
