A listener writes “So I had a experience that has completely changed my life…. I have been searching the Internet trying to find someone that can help me come to grips with this, that won’t think I m stupid crazy or what ever, and I stumbled across your website. I live just south of Daytona Beach Fl, 3 weeks ago I was preparing for a upcoming fishing tournament on the mosquito lagoon which boarders Nasa, Merritt Island national wild life refuge and canaveral national wild life refuge.

I launched my kayak at 4 am with the goal of making it to the clinkers – a series of small man made islands made up during the dredging of the intercostal waterway – by first light. As I was paddling my kayak, I realized that the morning was strangely quiet; usually there were sounds of birds or cicadas, but this morning there was just an eerie silence. After I arrived at my spot, I began cruising down the shoreline which was filled with palms and thick cover, looking to jump a school of redfish. Suddenly, out of the blue, something splashed right behind me, startling me and disrupting the stillness of the morning. In order to get to my fishing spot without missing a beat, I had to learn how to paddle a kayak effectively.I can’t tell you what it was because it was completely dark, so I continued on thinking maybe it was a fish jumping or whatever, about 15 min later I got this over whelming feeling that I was being watched or something, now I have heard stories that if you cross over on nasa property or whatever there are guys referred to as “men in black”come out of nowhere to find out what your doing, but I was at least a mile from nasa property so I’m just assuming my mind is playing tricks on me. Anyway it was just beginning to be light out, I hooked a fish and as I was reeling it in, I smelled the most horrible smell in the world to the point I was dry heaving.

I can’t describe how disgusting it was, now I’m thinking that I came across a dead rotting wild pig or something because the temps have been 100 plus for 3 months now, so I get my fish to the side of my kayak and I released it and starting paddling out of the area …when all of a sudden about 15 pigs took off running down the shore creating a huge commotion….then out of no where this animal or what the hell ever screamed this insane scream/holler that shook my insides and began shaking palm trees and going absolutely crazy just out of site…. I was completely frozen with fear I was 20 feet from the shoreline and this thing was about 10 feet in the tree line… I could not do anything except sit there and stare…. I watched it for what seemed to be forever but it was prob a minute as this thing was going nuts…. And as quick as it started it stopped, I was in the coast guard and went through several training and all but nothing could prepare me for what happened next…. I was at the point of fight or flight but there was no way I was gonna fight…. As I tried to gather my thoughts and pick up my jaw and figure out if I pissed myself or not …this palm branch moved to the side and I saw this …… Monster… Just staring at me.

He then started swaying back and fourth and then with out thought he charged at me/the water screaming which caused me to flinch and I fell backwards off my kayak. I hid in the water using my kayak as a shield and he walked back to the tree like breaking trees branches and shaking shit like a mad man….. The look on this things face was the most insane “I’m going to kill you” look I have ever seen. I grabbed my paddle and started waving it in the air trying to make my self look as big as possible….. And I was yelling at this thing hoping to scare it off. It turned and looked at me stared for about 30 sec and then walked back into the woods. I don’t know what in the hell that was I didn’t believe in that kind of stuff, but I can tell you the strength and power this thing had it was not human…. It had characteristics of a man but it wasn’t at all a man…. I jump back in my kayak and paddled so quickly out of there. I got home and laid in bed my wife came in and said I was white clammy and shaking , I don’t even remember driving home. She asked me what was wrong I told her I must be sick. I cannot tell you about my nightmares or how I can’t sleep this “thing” has me going crazy inside…. I’m sick and shaking just writing this
