This ancient relic has recently been discovered in a cave in Tibet. We take a look at this ancient relic that’s been discovered in a cave in Tibet. Over the years there have been many mysterious discoveries, however some of these do eventually get solved.

One discovery that baffled researchers was made back in 1980. A Buddhist monk in Tibet decided to enter a dark cave so that he could prey. While here he found a strange looking artifact on the floor. After observing it he could see that it looked like a jaw bone with two teeth. Fast forward over 30 years and scientists were finally able to figure out what this belonged to. It came from a mysterious Neanderthal-like human known as the Denisovan.

    Hi Christopher. Was that question supposed to be a joke? If not, I think the monk was “praying” as opposed to ‘preying’, or hunting something. Just saying. 🙂

    I believe I read somewhere it was a small percentage of Denisovan DNA that was found to be the difference in the Tibetan Sherpas and that allowed them to function so well in the lower O2 levels at the higher altitudes of the Himalayas. Their blood was much better at carrying oxygen.
