The Yakima Valley Bigfoot Con 2026 takes place on October 23 and 24, 2026. The weekend kicks off on Friday with a VIP Meet & Greet at the Valley Mall, followed by the all-day main event on Saturday featuring vendors and guest speakers at Legends Casino Hotel in Toppenish.
The convention is hosted in partnership with the Greater Yakima Chamber of Commerce. In Yakima. Such a shame that resident Bob Gimlin is no longer able to make appeareances with his story of Oct. 20, 1967. I so glad I got to meet in him 2014. His and Roger’s story is now under great assualt about a faulty premise movie that darn few have seen, but the no nothings are claiming this is the holy grail of Roger and Bob’s lie, called Capturing Bigfoot. Lucily both Dr. Jeff Meldrum (RIP) and Bill Munns have seen it. Bill Munns was a private 4 hour screening, and in essence both have claimed the movie is non sense. Jeff immediatley called up Doug Jajicek and told him it was ridiculous. But this is not what the trolls are stating. Bill Munns probably got it right as did Matt Moneymaker several months ago. It was not a rehersal walk. It was a replica walk after the fact to prove to Al Deatley and any other financiers for distribution of the film to movie theaters, like the one I first saw in 1968, whey back before it became stabilized. One can find several long interviews with Bill Munns about this movie and all that is wrong with it.
