The vanishing deer

A listener writes “During the 9 day gun deer season in Black River Falls Wisconsin, something which i cannot explain happened.

Myself and 10 other guys camp on state land during the deer season. During the week we were doing a drive and came across a 10 point buck dead in the woods. it had been laying there for several days and it was unseasonably warm out.

The decision was made to continue with the drive and come back the next day to retrieve the rack. It was late in the day and there were posters waiting for the drive to be completed. Also our saw was back at camp.

The next day we went back to saw off the rack. To our disbelief the deer was gone. You could see where the deer lay, there were no drag marks and the leaves on the forest floor were undisturbed.

Something big picked up this 200 plus pound buck and took off with it ! There are wolves, bears and coyotes in the area but you would see fur and remains about if they had eaten it. there were no kicked over leaves, the buck just vanished! I have also heard a loud shrieking noise in the early hours of the morning in back of where we camp.I would say around 2:00 am.The kind of noise that makes the hair on your neck stand up. I have never heard this noise before and i am an avid outdoors man.I know the different calls that animals make. I think it was a Sasquatch.”

I deer hunt in Marinette, WI We were tracking a wounded deer this year in the thick brush. The deer kept on turning around and checking his back trail. for some reason this deer didn’t act like other wounded deer in the area… He avoided the normal area’s they like to hide in. This deer just disappeared this is the third deer that we lost tracking them they just vanish.

It’s definetaly not uncommon to not find wounded deer. They can travel a longggg way especially if pushed. I had a deer vanish on me couple years ago here in northern sask. Shot it. Found it 30 yards away. Grabbed the antlers for a good look. Went to truck to get my knife I had forgotten. Came back and deer was gone. No blood no guys no hair no drag marks. Definetaly had me scratching my head. And I can tell u with 100% certainty there were no other hunters around to take it

The Grizz have well learned. Wait till a shot. Then go find Dinner. Seems to me that a BF could figured this out all so. This has been going on Longer then most want to admit. Happens all over the U.S. Black River Falls is a place that could be a haven for such a beast. Vast area’s of river bottoms. Good cover. good food. good water supply. I’m with you on this. That deer was BF s And he’s willing to eat a free meal anytime. No energy waste in that. As far as what you hearing in the middle of the night. Well l have witness ed the same sounds in TX. Its not wolfs or coyotes. Not mountain lion. Nor black bear. This sound comes from lungs that are surly 10 times as BG. Theses BF are far more common then we first thought. But they can hide very very well. AND only about 1% of the population goes into there living area. And that’s for a week or 2 just to hunt. Let us know if anything else strange happens out there. Thank you Paul m.

    Hello,

I’m glad people from the midwest are starting to share their stories.

On the internet there are many stories of Grizzlies now waiting to hear a gun shot during hunting season and when the hunter goes to get the animal shot; a grizzly is waiting there.

Listener. You are right to question and investigate what happened to this deer. What are the percentage of hunters that would have done that, probably less than 1 percent. Oh some would have investigated, found the same evidence you did and said Huh, freaking weird , and left it at that, not having a clue as to the real nature of the disappearance.
I agree with all. Many stories of Bigfoot around guns and they do not react like every other creature to them. Conditioning and learned behavior of 5 centuries of hunters in the bush making easy scavenge for them.
