Michael L – There is a long, horrid history in the United States of comparing black people to apes to dehumanize them and enforce the idea that black people are subhuman. I think we have to look at biological science – All the hybrids mentioned are within the same genus. Humans and chimps (or any other ape) are not in the same genus. Humans are genus Homo, chimps are genus Pan. Chimps have 24 sets of chromosomes, humans have 23. You’d have to wonder what kind of disability would be created by an extra pair of chromosomes floating around, even if there was a viable offspring.

Before we get into the interbreeding subject we should maybe look at the issue of convergent or divergent evolution and or a possibility of an unknown hominin in the human evolutionary tree. Bipedalism and the hooded nose lead me to suspect either of the three.
