The Khamar Daban Incident

Almost everyone has heard of the Dyatlov Pass incident that took place in Soviet Russia back in 1959, but there are some, including myself who hadn’t heard of the Khamar Daban Incident. Almost 2,000 miles to the South East of Dyatlov Pass lies the Khamar Daban mountain range. This apparently is a popular area for Russian hikers and for tourists as well. In 1993, six of these hikers would enter these mountains, but only one would return – with such a harrowing experience that after the initial police report, she refused to talk about it until much later.

My immediate first thought is Valentina” herself. What are the odds that everyone dies but her. How accurate would toxicology reports be after the bodies were on the mountain for two weeks. Could she possibly have given them something? Even if she didn’t, I definitely think she knows more than she is willing to say. Valentina, might be totally innocent but there is a strong possibility that something sinister happened. Just for the fact that the authorities took two weeks to retrieve the bodies. Could it have taken that long for the government to think it was “safe” to have gone on the mountain? The question is, safe from what?
