A listener writes “I am a former Marine and a former Wayne County ( Detroit, Mi) Deputy. I am now a long haul fuel hauler. I was at a location out west and had to take my mandatory 34 hour reset.
I love the outdoors, being an avid hunter since the age of 8. And also being an infantry marine which gave me an even more profound zest for the bush. So I had decided to take a day hike and explore the great outdoors. As I was around 4 hours into my hike I had noticed a tree to my front left that had reminded me of a sniper nest with obvious observation holes looking out onto the hiking path.
I thought maybe a cougars lair. So I decided to set and take a water break and change my socks. That’s when I seen the creature climb down from the tree. There were two females approximately 1000 yards ahead of me on the trail. And I was certain that the creature was going to pursue them. Then the creature was joined by a second cryptoid. And they were creeping in the direction of the women. I was unarmed so the only thing I could do was try to drawl the creatures to me and give the women a chance to escape. I jumped up and screamed at the top of my lungs and was pumping my arms. Not only did that stop the creatures advance on the women but it also startled the women who thought I was trying to get there attention.
They thought I was in distress so they started walking towards me. I thought this would surely be the end if not only for me but them as well. So I thought to call 911 to tell them what was inevitably about to occur. But I had no service. But I immediately snapped a picture of the two creatures and got a great photo of both including their faces. Thank goodness they took off running in the opposite direction.
When the women got to me and ask me what was wrong I showed them the photo and told them I believe the monsters were going to attack them. Needless to say I escorted the ladies back to their vehicle which took 3 hours to get back. The women wanted no part of me reporting what had transpired and said we wouldn’t be believed even with my picture. They sped off and my journey ended as well.”

…“I am a former Marine and a former Wayne County ( Detroit, Mi) Deputy…” A Veteran and LEO! Oh yeah. Can’t wait for this one! Thanks Wes.
Charles R
Wayne County Deputy, now that had to be one tough job. The next county to the west Washtenaw has had it’s share of Sasquatch encounters over the year, and I am sure you know this.

If this guy doesn’t want to come on the show….bribe him, lol. ?
How selfless he was to think about those women first. I bet he did it without thinking, great guy (and smart to get those pics so quick).
Denise F
What does a snipers nest look like or is it any natural looking cover?
Terrence B
Wow. What a story. Can’t wait to see pictures. This could be one of the best stories ever. Please post pictures!!!! Would love to hear his story.
Spanky
Please don’t tease us! Show us the pics!

What a true hero, this guy is. Nor only a veteran, law enforcement, and tries to save two women!!

That man saved the lives of those women. I hope you can get him on the show and share the pics.

I don’t mean to be the bearer of bad news but I betcha we may not be able to see the pics….. especially if they’re clear and up close. If Wes doesn’t post them….well, y’all try not to get hostile, lol.
Mark O
There are no pictures…
Kathy K
I hate to say it but I’m going to agree with Mark O. Something will happen to the pictures; they didn’t come out or he deleted them by mistake, blah, blah, blah. We all know how this goes…
Donald P
It always disappointing when a witness mentions a picture and then none is ever posted. Wes, please post more pictures.

(New Jersey) How many times has a witness claimed to have great pictures? How many pictures have we actually Seen?

This is very true, if any claims to have pictures let them by shown and scrutinize, all you might as well claim to have no pictures at all

I’m in Afghanistan time, so my Friday comes and is all but gone when Wes post a new show. I’ll be looking FWD to hearing this Marine tell is account. He dropped his credit ranking calling himself a former Marine, unless he discharged as such. A Marine once created is always a Marine. I use Black Lake my motivation song now it’s hardly an adrenaline inducer but I dig that bass beat, the singers voice, last it makes think of this awesome Pod cast. There are a lot of units that use the Sasquatch profile on patches over here. So I gonna start tagging them with sticker of the pod cast soon. Matt Best made a fortune starting with the small community mil and ctr fans. Now he has sponsors everywhere. Having Wes’s Pod cast on serius XM ect would be outstanding.

Wes. Taken at face value, this sounds like the makings for a good episode. Especially, if the photos have clear and sharp images.
When you think about guys like this that served in the military, then in law enforcement, his actions to prevent what he imagined to be a developing situation with a very bad possible outcome, is easy to understand why he did what he did. Guys like this are trained observers, and are trained to size up developing situations, then take action…..to save lives. Some would call him a HERO, but my guess is that he doesn’t see himself that way. He put himself at risk to help the women and that was a courageous and selfless act that no doubt prevented those women from getting hurt or possibly worse. Try to get him on the show. Hope his photos turned out clear and sharp. I for one would like to hear him tell his story in greater detail.
