The Baltic Sea anomaly is an unusual feature on the floor of the Baltic Sea that was discovered in 2011 by the Swedish exploration group Ocean X Team while searching for shipwrecks.
It gained worldwide attention because the first low-resolution sonar image appeared to show a large, circular object roughly 60 meters (200 feet) across, leading to speculation that it might be:
- A crashed UFO
- An ancient underwater structure
- A secret military installation
- A geological formation
What did investigators actually find?
- A rocky formation rising from the seabed.
- Large boulders and fractured rock surfaces.
- No evidence of metal, machinery, or artificial construction.
- Some unusual-looking shapes, but nothing conclusively man-made.
