That Sasquatch has German Shepherd ears and a dog muzzle..

“My friend and I for lack of a better term are research partners. Several years ago my friend moved back to his home state of Oklahoma… Late One night he took his teenage daughter out on an old country road to star gaze..He brought his night vision with as is his custom..Well as they were watching the stars they heard something creeping up towards their truck that was parked along side this road..My friend naturally tells his daughter thats a Bigfoot creeping up to watch us.. He hands her the nightvision and tells her to watch that area and he is going to go flush the bigfoot and she could watch him get up and run towards the woods.. As he is walking she sees whats laying in the tall grass and she tells her dad..I can see its ears… My friend says Wow,, he is that close?..She tells her dad,, I am really scared you better get back here..So my friend walks back to the the truck and takes the nightvison from her.. and proceeds to walk to where the so called bigfoot is laying in the grass…As he is walking towards it, he sees its eyes glowing in that eerie green light that nightvison produces.. He is pretty excited to see this… So he keeps walking closer and he then notices the eyes of something smaller next to it or being held by it..He had no idea what it was.. So he hits the infrared spot light that most night vision scopes have..Its like an invisible flashlight allowing you to see even better in the dark… It was then he realized he was not looking at a bigfoot.. The glow of the eyes squinted into slits as it watched him..He then noticed the ears..Not what he was expecting but ears like a German Shepherd..Straight up and alert and focused on him.. He could see its muzzle, not so much like a German shepherd but pitbull like..In the night vision he could make out a pattern in its coat from the shoulders down to the forelimbs..It was then he realized he was looking at something unknown to him..He said it was the size of a tiger..He tuned off the infrared spotlight and its eyes stopped squinting.. He then came to his senses and discovered he was only 20 feet away from it..He slowly backed up never taking his eyes off it..Got in his truck started it and took off..His daughter was besides herself telling him I told you I saw its ears….He called me the next morning to tell me what he saw..Still shook up about it.. We both thought Dogmen were just mistaking identities for a bigfoot…I insisted he may have seen a Stripped Hyena from what he described and he told me…Hyenas are not the size of a tiger.. Come to find out later that the locals in that area of Oklahoma are well aware of these things..They told him he was lucky he didn’t disappear… cause they will kill and eat you never to be seen again..Just like it was common knowledge..” – Rick C

Well, if the account is true and accurate it lends evidence to the idea that at least one of the cryptids can see in the infrared spectrum. I wouldn’t be surprised if the govt. hasn’t used subjects to research and engineer (or re-engineer) night vision technology/ability. Another take away from the article would be the (rather pragmatic) implication that carrying around bacon in Oklahoma could very well be fatal.

Actually no. Infra-red is very far below red light in the spectrum. Whenever people refer to infra-red what they really mean is NIR (near infra-red). It is just below red in the spectrum. It is what the LEDs in such IR-spots give off. It is by no means true infra-red radiation.

There are only two species of animals that can see in the true infra-red. Some bats and some snakes. And both of them have developed separate sensors to pick up this radiation. So they actually do not see it with their eyes.

To see in the visibule spectrum like humans AND the far infra-red using just a single set of eyes is something that seems biologically impossible. The probable cause for that is the lenses. You can not make a lense that works well to focus both light with a very long wavelengt (far infra-red) and a short wavelenght (blue light). Sort of like it is very difficult to make a lense that works both in water and in air.

Anyhow. The observed is not in contradiction to anything. It is just not truly infra-red. Simply near infra-red (NIR). It would be nice if people would make this distinction.

Nice to know. Thanks for the detailed explanation. Still having trouble with the Dogmen. I’m pretty convinced about the existence of Sasquatch, so I guess I just need to hear more accounts, and more details.

Good question. Werewolves are Lycans; shapeshifting humans that morphed at the Full Moon. Dogmen supposedly look just like Werewolves, only they are that way 24/7.

  3. Indignico

    Tristene M,

Different things… The werewolf supposedly is a person who turns into a wolfman creature at the full moon but these Dogmen are just bipedal wolf-like creatures that some people think is a type of BigFoot and others think it’s its own scary thing unrelated to a BigFoot except possibly a predator prey relationship with our good friend Mister ‘foot occupying the prey position in the dynamic… I just read two of Linda Godfrey’s books that recount far more first person accounts of these things every bit as believable as BigFoot accounts often are. This has been a public service announcement.

    Hi all

Here is what I have learned/observed from witnesses interviewed here @ Sasquatch Chronicles and the witnesses interviewed over at Dogman Encounters Radio by Vic Cundiff:

“Dogman” is an unfortunate name that is being applied to 2 different animals. It is the same situation as when a person says, “I saw a dolphin today”. Without context, did the person see the popular mammal seen in many sea-aquariums *or* did they see the popular deep sea game fish?

In the case of “Dogman” you have a type 3 Sasquatch, which may or may not be primate in nature, *and* a bipedal canine.

    For examples of each:

    1. Listen to Purple Pam Rose’s account here on Sasquatch Chronicles and over on Dogman Encounters Radio ( Dogman Encounters Episode 4 Night of Terror at Beaver Lake! (9/12/14) ) where she also has drawings of what she saw. She saw what would be a “Type 3 Sasquatch” which had the “throwing things” behavior. They have legs that bend/work the same way a human’s do. Their ears are also more or less on the side of their head.

    2. For the upright canine, you can listen to Episode 40 as a good eye-witness example. They have legs that look the same as when you get a dog to stand up on it’s hind legs. They have ears on top like a wolf or german shepherd. They also leave behind huge canine tracks 6 inches in diameter or more – imagine a great dane’s hind foot print on steroids.

This is what I have picked up from listening to accounts.

The term “werewolf” has the baggage of paranormal connotations. So, even though they (the canine Dogmen) look like something out of an “Underworld” movie, they are most likely another biological cryptid creature. Personally, I wish people would just start calling them “Bipedal Wolves” to differentiate them from the “Type 3 Sasquatch”.

    Sincere regards,

I listened to Episode 40 on Dogman Encounters and could not believe it. This woman from Australia along with her family were almost prisoners in their home . One of her encounters was when they were barbecuing on the back porch and looked up at a hill on their property and thought there were wild dogs coming down. When they got around 100-120 feet away they all stood up and were running bipedal . She and husband quickly grabbed the food and their kids and ran into the house.
I would have flipped out. She said the area was somewhere outside of New So. Wales. Listen it was quite a compelling number of encounters she had.

    • Patrick N

Exactly Steven. There are two types of dogmen. The hominid and the canine. Episode 100 was the canine. ( i think..i don’t know) Which is hard to wrap your head around.

    • Esther P

I agree somewhat Steven B, but what about that Bipedal Coyote encounter at Dogman Encounters Radio? Calling them Bipedal Wolves doesn’t cover all the canine-type creatures encountered, so how about calling them Bipedal Canines? Just had to throw that in for fun.

      • Steven B

“Bipedal Canines” works for me. 🙂

It distinguishes them from the creature that Pam saw and it doesn’t unintentionally give the impression that these things are somehow part human/part canine. “Bipedal Canines” it is! 😉 and the other one can be known as Type 3 Sasquatch or “Disgusting Creature”.

Thank you for the explanation. I just can’t help but giggle whenever I hear ” dog man” it’s just not am awe inspiring name for a creature that inspires so much emotion.

It’s kinda crazy that a good portion of people who have encounters with Dogman are usually out looking for Sasquatch. N actually this is one of the least aggressive Dogman encounters I’ve really ever read. He was pretty fortunate that he and his daughter we’re able to drive out of there unscathed. N this is a little off topic but I believe the classic werewolf myth got started centuries ago because people who ran into this Dogman creature and weren’t familiar with this animal. So there closest reference for them was it had the head of a wolf and the body of a man. N because they we’re unfamiliar with this animal and had rarely encountered anything like it they probably chalked it up to some kind of dark magic and that it was some evil shape shifting man. But now with years and years of media and movies, it’s turned into something else all together. That’s my theory tho

ALL MY CAMPING GEAR IS GETTING DUSTY.
I USE TO GO CAMPING BY MYSELF.
UP IN THE ISSAQUAH ALPS WA. STATE BUT I NOW SEE SIGNS OF BIGFOOT
    SNAPPED AND TWISTED TREES.
AND NOW THE SILENT FORREST IS EERIE.

SC has proven these horrible creatures are out there. It seems that they like to kill and mutilate more animals than they ever could eat.
The animals are scared out of their minds before they do finally have to die in that horrible way. I say to all the hunters out there, please be careful, don’t go unarmed, but better yet don’t go at all. Thanks.

Steve B., I highly agree with your statements pertaining to the “Bipedal – Wolf” However I feel I need to help with further elimination of the confusion of Werewolf mistaken Belief by many. “Werewolf” contuse a late Old English wer (e) wulf, a compound of were “ ◄â–ș”Adult male human” and wulf ◄â–ș”wolf” [With that barrowed from WikiP]. I need to state my observances of the miss use of such words, based upon (Middle Ages to present date) misunderstanding of just what they are “Bipedal – Wolf”. If I may, I feel these creatures are void of Human DNA therefore they are not ‘Human’ thus the Wer(e) part is a mistaken turn, and is wrong, just as wrong as “Dog – Man”.

-I believe the misunderstanding came about by the creature having ‘said by eyewitness’ to have very intent thoughts, (Evil) / Ominous feelings, as the eyewitnesses are stared down, as the creatures deep red – eyes are shifty, shits about as the creature watches the humans intently, enough to but extreme fear into them. Highly Sentient? Perhaps, however the study of one’s prey, does not equate to the predator as being Human; having Human like qualities, and similar – ish, upper body and semi hand structures (yes) (but not Human) also led (Leads / Adds to the Confusion and mislabeling. Forget the wer (e) and as far as the (Wulf), we can be very curtain but not conclusive, that the creatures is Canine in appearances. However, we need DNA testing to know exactly what these creatures are. So Bipedal – Wolf fits it far more than werewolf or Dog + Man does, I highly agree with you.

-Another thing about these creatures that I have taken great notice of, they do not fear humans what so ever, and they are viscous when attacking their prey, and as far as humans being their food, I am not certain that they eat humans, (Although on D.E.R. Episode # 34, Where Michael Lawence states as a boy while camping in the So. California desert of Anza Borrego Desert, he discovered a huge Dogman towering over his open topped tent, while a juvenile Dogman entered his tent, sat upon his feet, leaned in, and tasted Michael face, while the above Creature watched over the Juvenile creature. (To learn of Food, or to taste the boys fear?) with as they might just be hell bent upon shredding human flesh, for whatever be the reasoning, they do not like us and that is very noticed by those people who have encountered the Bipedal – Wolf, unprovoked they will chase down humans, as well as attack humans within their vehicle, they have deviated from a direct course and desperately tried cutting off an escaping person, they are very intelligent.

-There are no wolves indigenous to Australia, (only the Dingo – Dog, and the ‘Claimed – Extinct Thyacine (Spellchecker says – Thiacine) aka Tasmanian Tiger. Speaking upon the “Bipedal – Wolf, I can find no Mention of any Wolf being indigenous to the Isolated Continent of Australia, so where in the hell did “Bipedal – Wolf come from? It should not be present upon Australia if it is in fact derived in part by a “Wolf.” Sorry for the extra long posting.

But all of this really needed to be stated.

    • Steven B

Papa – this is what the lady in Australia couldn’t understand as you are correct that Australia only had the Thylacine and has Dingoes (other than feral dogs). However, it would seem that these walking nightmares are more or less “world-wide”.

Don’t look to any government, however, to ever admit they exist. To prove this point, there is an episode of “Animal X” in which they investigate sightings of jaguar sized black felines in Australia (which shouldn’t be there either). One witness collected a scat sample and sent it in to a wildlife division of the Australian government for analysis. It came back as “domestic dog”. For a test, the “Animal X” team collected a scat sample from a tiger at a zoo and sent it to the same place…surprise, surprise!…it came back as “domestic dog”.

      Great posts here.

      Cheers

Ok… I’ve seen many things in my day that no one will ever hear of but getting licked by a werewolf or terrorwolf… Oh my fresking snickerdoodles I probably would have had a heart attack!!!

Hunters are always armed. Because hunters are armed they should be on high alert and pay attention to that “I feel like I’m being watched” feeling. Don’t let the firearm give you a false sense of security out there.

The definitions here are wonderful…I might add two more attributes to the creatures behavior: Pack behavior and many tales of recurring visits from the creatures. In bigfoot encounters, there is generally only one encounter. In these encounters, the humans are treated more like prey, and are followed home in some instances, where the encounters continue.
The fact that so many dogman (HATE THAT NAME) encounters have more than one involved shows a canine pack behavior; and after scouring the memory of the event most will state (Me included) that they come to believe there was another creature involved. In my case, I realized that the one creature moved down the ridgeline and into shrubs BUT the rock throwing came from an area more towards the right – closer to the campers that left earlier!
I advise anyone with any encounter to record their story and relisten to it a few times – after someone pointed out what seemed inconsistent in my telling I went “huh?” and re ran the whole event in my minds eye. I totally missed the fact that I had only just seen the creature enter a shrub to it’s knees directly behind the van, when our attention turned to an immediate shower of gravel! Thus , there had to be 2!!!
We were overwhelmed by the rapid unfolding events….boom-boom-boom- style, and I think we totally could not have envisioned 2 animals of this creepiness not to mention TWO!

I agree with either “Bi-pedal Wolf” or “Bi-pedal Canine” as well. Recall a story in the third Paulides “Missing 411” book where a girl about 5yrs old was grabbed by a creature but then put down because two hunters happened to just come along at the right time. When her father asked her what happened she said “The big doggy ate my hat”. Apparently the “big doggy” literally took the hat the child was wearing off of her head and ate it in one gulp. That was one lucky little girl. I’m pretty sure the hat was just the appetizer and she was the main course.

So then from this Encounter, of a massacred family while camping at Land between Lakes (LBL) Kentucky in 1982, we can assume that either human corpses or Bipedal –Wolves can climb trees. So we must keep in mind that they are as well within the trees.

    -Case in Point:
-The Beast of LBL (Land between the Lakes) (Bipedal -snouted – pointy ears, and its total lack of fear, its aggressive stance toward man.

    – Upon searching for this case: It is mentioned in David Paulides Eastern 411 Missing book: 1982 Kentucky RV camping family were attacked and tore into pieces, the little girl was half eaten and hanging in tall tree when they were discovered.

-From somewhere in the nearby woods, about 50 yards from the campfire, a scream was heard. A man’s shriek that turned into a long wail and then to whimpering. As others arrived they could see by the gleam of several flashlights that the cop was holding his hat in one hand and his light in the other. There was blood on his face, the front of his shirt and on the brim of his hat. More blood could be seen dripping on him. It was coming from above. High in the tree the flash light swung, searching for the source of the mysterious bleeding. A very small hand could be seen dangling down from a tree limb way up high, as well as a slender lifeless leg that still had a white sock still on the foot.

-The missing child had been located. It had been Adam that the blood had trickled upon, hitting his hat first, making him look up, and then feeling the thick cold fluid sprinkling his face then sliding down to his nearly buttoned shirt. It had been Adam that had screamed. The little girl had apparently been carried up the tree and leisurely eaten upon while carefully laid across a large tree branch. More of the same long gray and brown hair was found sticking in the bark of the tree near her body.

-After about 7 hours most of the officers were sent away as a new team of investigators arrived. They were told not to talk to anyone of the incident, especially not the media. I am sure that besides Adam and Bill, there were others who had to confess what they saw that night, if in fact this whole event ever happened. Witness’s that had to divulge the awful secret of that atrocious discovery at one of the campgrounds at LBL.
