Strange Familiars: Flannel Man More than a Ghost

Tim writes “Episode 90: The Flannel Men (and women!) come back to Strange Familiars. Timothy and Alison present a hint that there could be something supernatural to buffalo plaid itself. We read stories of Flannel Man from listeners; another story connecting Flannel Man to black dogs; Flannel Man stepping out of dreams and into bedrooms; and suggestions that these plaid-clad entities are far more than just ghosts – sometimes even harbingers of death or perhaps even the Grim Reaper himself. We also talk to several Flannel Man witnesses: including Kristina who was given a precognitive dream of a shooting event after seeing Flannel Man; Luke, who saw a series of strange symbols followed by a Flannel Man; Doug who saw a Flannel-wearing woman in his haunted apartment; and Felix who had multiple Flannel Man sightings of her own.”

The first woman was quite interesting, but her dream of a white man massacring a gathering of black people, is one I apparently missed. That’s odd, because the media would have been all over the story for weeks on end.

It was widely covered on the news. Google Kroger grocery store Kentucky shooting. “Man who allegedly shot two black customers at Kroger store tried first to enter black church, police say” 2018 “JEFFERSONTOWN, Ky. (AP) — A white man with a history of violence and mental illness was recorded on surveillance video apparently trying to get inside a predominantly black church in Kentucky before he went to a grocery store and fatally shot two African-Americans, police said.”

That’s it, I’m going to keep a dream journal from now on! I’ve been thinking about it again lately. On this recently passed Mother’s Day, when we woke up I told my husband about a dream I had just had. All I recall now is my mother was in the dream and telling me something and several other people were there too. My mother passed away in the mid nineties, a few weeks after my best friend. Maybe it was them, plus one other person. Anyway, I hate it when it’s vivid, then falls right out of my head.. Coll discussion here. Thanks for posting this Wes. 🙂

Alice F, you are correct in the Jeffersontown, KY shooting, but from her dream explanation I pictured the white guy going into a crowded gathering of blacks and using an AK 47 to kill numerous people. Even the death of one person is a tragedy.
