SC EP:540 I Quit

There was technical issues with capturing my presentation at the live event. I will recreate it and tell the story about the day I quit the show and put it out for everyone when I get back into town.

Bob flys out tomorrow morning and I told him how much it meant to me for him to be there with me when I told that story. He teared up a little when I said it to him and I told him to cowboy up or he was going to make me tear up. If you didn’t love Bob Gimlin before, you will after hearing this and it has nothing to do with filming Patty. If you love the show you will understand why there is still a show after hearing what I have to say. If you meet Bob in the future be sure to thank him.

I got an opportunity to have a real heart to heart with him and tell him what he means to me.

Wes, to the guy with 30 yrs radio experience: I have not listened to any of our local radio stations in about 6 years. I do podcasts and online stations ONLY. I listen to what I want ,when I want and where I want. Thanks for sticking it out Wes…

  1. Larry S

Great story Wes. Here’s hoping that you don’t quit anytime soon. Those who’ve seen these things need you and your show.
    Keep up the good work.

  2. Tedd

Great to hear how it came together, from my point of view, I never doubted you and your brother and I knew which person of the group I was in line with. I joined at the beginning and never thought anything other than I cannot wait for whatever it is Wes does next! I enjoy all the different things you explore and only want more. Thanks for being you and keep it up! ?

  3. Kathy J T

    What I like about Wes;

    1. His voice
    2. His personality and manner in which he conducts his business/show.
    3. His overall looks
    4. Did I say he has a great voice? Easy to listen to….
    5. He is Humble & Kind
    6. All the hard work he puts into the show….I have noticed and I really do love how he conducts the show!!!
    7. The friendship he has with Tony Merkel
    8. How supportive he is of other people doing podcasts.

I know there is much I could add to this list, but this pretty much sums it up!
Thank You Wes! ……….& Hello to Woody!

  4. Kris G

Wes! Thank you a million times for this program. Your encounter not only changed your life, but mine…and I know many many others’. I thank God that you persevered and held the course. Peace be with you man… and God Bless.

after coming home from work draggin ass from a 16 hour hard labor shift in the rain exhausted an not too focused I thought the brother wes was DONE with S.Q. i don’t know about anyone else but when I logged in an saw [ SC-EP 540 I QUIT] my jaw dropped an a feeling of sadness overcame me instantly thinking wes was done COMPLETELY with the show. that it was a message for him hanging his gloves up whewww!! then what a relief it was to hear different thank god. an thank you wes

    • Tracy H

John i’m glad I wasn’t alone about feeling the same way. I was missing the show and hearing Wes and was getting nervous that something might have happened to Wes and was wondering what was going on and just as I logged in and saw this my jaw dropped as well. I love the show and Wes I absolutely love the outlet that you give everyone who has had these events happen to them. I have had a true encounter myself that lasted only moments but was a visual and have had several sketchy things happen to me as well that may have been other encounters and when I get a chance to get a little time away from my 4 year old to actually tell you my encounters i will. As for now I will just sympathize with those here. We love you Wes and keep up the Awesome job you do.

  6. Mike S

Inspiring story, Wes! Believing in ourselves is the most important thing we can do, and it’s also a wonderful thing when someone important to us shares that faith, too. Your story about Bob Gimlin’s early support for you and your vision says as much about your humility as it does about his character and your friendship.

Please keep up your great work and thank you from deep in the heart of The Lone Star State!

    ??

  7. Margaret H

When I read “I Quit” my heart almost stopped! I thought you were actually quitting the show! Thank God in listening to the show, you were not quitting!!! Wow what an experience you had in getting people on the show! Thank God you persevered and it all worked out!
    God Bless!

    Wes:
When you travel, can you consider planning for your trip by dropping content early so we don’t miss out on the two shows we are promised?

I do love the show, and I support SC as a member – I have for some time, and I have referred friends who have also joined. I am disappointed when I tune in to hear about Sasquatch, Dogmen, etc., and it’s not available.

I think it would be great to have episodes fully narrated by you, as we have asked many times for updates on past guests and for you to share stories where the experiencers choose not to be interviewed.

I hope to listen to the two missing shows when they are posted.

        • F S

While it’s funny to see everyone, and their mom, except Wes, melt down like a flake of show, I did not set the expectations.

In the FAQ Section of the Sasquatch Chronicles:

“WHAT DO I GET AS A CURRENT LISTENER?

As a current listener you get a 1 hour a show per week.

WHAT DO I LOSE IF I DON’T BECOME A MEMBER?

By becoming a member, you will gain 100% more content per week. We will continue to deliver the great, hour long show you are familiar with on Sunday nights, but in addition, members will get 1-2 additional shows throughout the week. That’s extended interviews and information that non-members are not getting. All of this content for $7 a month.

          Exclusive Shows
In addition to regular shows you get new episodes every week exclusive to members.

          Extended Weekly Shows
If you can’t get enough of our weekly show you can get the full experience with our exclusive extended episodes.”

          • Asheim

FS, you expect Wes to never ever take any time off, for things everyone else gets time off of a job for? Death in the family, illness, vacation? Come on, that is a bit ridiculous.

    • Derek G

Come on FS… You have to be joking… We all love the show, support and look forward to episodes but it has never crossed my mind that Wes absolutely has to have 1 or 2 shows every week without fail. He is doing an amazing job and he has had 540 shows so far. He didn’t accomplish this by being lazy or a slacker. He deserves his breaks like anyone else. BTW- I feel he has went beyond 540 episodes because each episode has often been more than one encounter. FS why don’t you just give credit where credit is due…. Sometimes in life you have to check yourself, step back and think before you speak… Put yourself in the other persons shoes for a bit bud…. Life isn’t all about us and we are not the center of the universe and least of all we are not Wes’ bosses. Wes told a story with a life lesson from a wise man about forgiveness and for those who have ears to hear and put into practice it’s worth more than if he gave us a million dollars. We can’t take a million with us when we go but forgiveness will endure and so will the example we will leave…. Be kind.

    • Janetta V

AH! AH! At first I took you seriously, and did not realize that you were joking. You are such a comedian, with such a dry sense of humor. Why, no one would ever be so shallow minded to say the horribly disrespectful things you just said and really mean it. I’ll bet this is the best post on here. Thank you so much. So glad Wes got the joke right off, because I sure didn’t at first.

    • Michael V

FS I will not be as nice as Wes to your post
You are what is wrong in our country and a real piece of work
I really respect this group and will not say anymore

  9. Jan F

Thank you Wes i knew that you are a great storyteller.
You Can find some old storys from a newspaper and tell about it and make a damm good show out of it, becoz you Got the vloice and the Way.
WE ARE A PART OF SASQUATCH CHRONICLES.

I have heard all the shows from the beginning more than once, and that make you a good obseverer in People’s testemonis.
There is many red Lines ans the Way they tell it and so on.and that goes for all i bellive.

  10. Asheim

Well FS I just would say that most everyone who has a job gets time off for being sick and an occasional vacation. I cannot begrudge Wes the same. He has to have a life of his own too. We don’t want him to burn out!

  11. Curtis R

Big guy with a big heart!
This is the kind of story that makes me love Wes and Woody, and Bob too! And so many other wonderful people. You know Wes, you e brought a lot of great people into our homes, I appreciate it.
By the way, whatever became of Shannon? I hope she is well, I remember she had a rough time also. Send her our regards.

    • sandy r

I know she did her own show foe a while, not sure if she still does. As far as the ”in house fighting” that was and wasn’t surprising considering the old Co host and how he exited the show. The coward way in my opinion, but time as shown Wes has the better show. Wes took a experience and learned and grew from it, he let people tell their stories that didn’t fall in line with what sounded like the ”normal” encounters and just let people talk and tell what they say and experienced, to heck with what others thought. It worked !!! He now has 540 shows and still going! He has earned respect and has a lot of love by his peeps! Keep it going Wes, Thanks to Bob G. for reaching out to Wes, when he was feeling down for the count.

  12. James H

Just listened to it. That was Fricken cool brotha! Thank you for going out of your way to share it. Keep up the Great work! Stay positive, and know we are ALL LISTENING AND WATCHING
Hope you all have a Great week.

  13. Randy M

Thank you wes so much for everything you do i look forward to your show every week so please dont get the idea to quit agine i am so glade that bob decided to call you that day GOD has a funny sense of humor sometime keep up the good work and maybe someday we willl cross paths God bless and have a great evening

  14. Shane M

That show was from the heart Wes. Never stop friend. We’ve all learned so so much episode to episode. As have you. You have a way with people that is humble. It’s your calling. Sasquatch just being the platform to connect with people.
Thanks Bob for behing that voice Wes needed to hear.

  15. Eddie M

I remember # 2. I’d been listening to Midnight Walker and Alex stopped doing the show. When I heard episode 2 I knew I’d found what would replace Midnight Walker. It was right on time. I’d seen my first Booger Oct. 1980 in Cullowhee NC visiting my GF at WCSU. I had no idea what I was looking at. I didn’t know for years. But heard Coonbo on Midnight Walker and Knew this ole boy from Alabama knows what I saw. Wes when I heard you and Woody’s encounter 7 years ago I knew .. these boys saw what I saw. .. I’m glad my Encounter was not as intense as yours. Always liked you letting the guest tell the story .. great idea and it seems to have worked out.. glad the interrupter left when he did and you kept going! Just never cared much for the interruptions. Keep on Keeping on Partner! Thanks!

    • John G

Excuse me…. je has been researching these creatures for 342 years and has has 2 encounters. Just ask Mr. BLACK. OR Was it Mr. X. OR Mr. Black X. Or triple black mr x. Okay… continue. Hey wait… onetime a sasquatch gave me a pinecone enema with extra sap. That’s when I decided to do what the dog did and take off… okay go on ahead. Oh hey… yeah there was this time that John green and renae dahindon babysat me and helped to pick the sap wads out of my bum hairs. Just had to get that out. Please… continue…

  16. Fran S

Thank you Wes! That was great to listen to. A life lesson to be learned. I am happy you did not quit. You have a great show and you help people. I look forward to the show. Thanks again

  17. jade W

Awesome!!!!!! To hear your voice again Wes … not about bobs back ? I hadn’t heard about that! Wowza sure glad hes okay now!!! Sure glad he gave props for the show… nothing compares to you wes & sasquatch chronicles… ?

  18. Donna K

I am so glad that you never quit… that point in time was your crucible and you passed the test. Everyone called to do great things will hit that wall and how they respond determines the future. You did the right things and Bob was there strategically at the right time for you… we all need you and look what has happened since that day! So glad you stuck with it and pressed through!!!

  19. John G

Been around here a long while. I remember when that all went down. If memory serves me correctly you were gone to Texas when the shit hit the fan so to speak. Glad you kept trudging on. I think that 99.9% of us would agree that losing your co host was the best thing that ever happened to the show. Too much self indulgence and too much interruption. We want to hear YOU discuss sasquatch encounters with witnesses. Not the life and times of Mr. Black and the butt pirates of the Caribbean.

    • James M

I feel your pain Vannessa. All weekend it felt like something was missing. I good naturedly cussed Wes a couple times for running off! But, everybody deserves a vacation.

  20. Shara M

I’m glad that you didn’t quit Wes. I found your podcast by accident last year and was hooked within the first 5 minutes. If you ever decide to quit the podcast, I will have serious problems with this! Those radio hosts and haters can suck it! Thank you for everything that you do – you’re the man!!

  21. Jason T

Badass Bob Gimlin strikes again! And Wes you are who you roll with so yep your a badass too. Thank you for not quitting Sasquatch Chronicles it has helped me get through some sad times. And I like allot of folks appreciate you.

    JT

  22. Andrew O

    Hi Wes.
I’m so pleased you kept going. And thanks to Bob for his great and needed support at that vulnerable time.

I’ve been an avid listener from the beginning and still totally dedicated to your excellent show.

Keep up the good work ?

  23. Linda S

This show is the only one I trust. The people are real. We have learned a lot by listening to the encounters. More than just listening to a single researcher. I don’t believe I know these creatures exist. I want to know what’s out there. On this small island that I live on in SE Alaska I have heard one account locally. We have 14 miles road and a huge hard to access island with huge mountains and forest. I know they are here but keep clear of our seaside community thus far.
The one that was spotted was up interior off a deer trail by a mom and son hunting. Anyways I hope you don’t quit Wes. That radio guy was wrong. You have a great calming voice. You come across warm and caring. The more successful the more people attack. It’s life. I like that you look at different aspects of the creature. Not just animal.
As a Dr of Theology I look at them biblically and scientifically. I really believe Enoch and other writings hold clues. These creatures are real and you are needed.

  24. Revaud G

I admire how you can approach things with some humility. It shows that you know you have nothing to prove, and this lends to your credibility and open mindedness. This probably keeps certain types of people from wanting to engage with you but opens the door for the less outspoken and more humble like yourself. These are the voices we can trust, regarding any topic. You don’t owe anybody anything except to stay true to your self. And as you might add, that’s just my opinion, I am no expert. I don’t have a podcast out in my garage to examine.

  25. Eve M

hey wes, i almost had a heart attack thinkn oh no, what has happened now, who th ….. has been talkin n stirring & what would make him want 2 quit. The reason he hasn’t posted isn’t just Texas, he’s done. This is too sad, i can’t brlieve i’ll never hear another encounter, not the way he does it..
then actually it was the comments that lifted me 1st…I realised u weren’t going anywhere ; Thk ….
i have 2 say, i’m all the way down under here, in Western Aus at that, but don’t think 4 a second that i don’t check nightly ,(tho i no 1-2 x weekly is the go) i check nightly as i load the bluetooth 4 the shower, b4 realisation that it’ll hav 2 b repeat dawns on me
    thx wes
    ur loved everywhere
and i no nothing of this in terms of personal experience
    but i’m behind u
    always

  26. RICHIE E

GOOD MORNING WES AND ALL OF Y’ALL .. IF U EVER WANTED TO KNOW IF U ARE LIKE OR LOVE BY ALL ON HERE AND YESSSSS IS THE ANSWER …. I LOVE TO HEAR AND READ ALL U PUT OUT EACH DAY OR EVERY FEW DAYS AND IT MAKE’S MY LIFE A LITTLE BETTER WHEN I FEEL SAD OR MAD ETC AND HEARING YOUR VOICE OF REASON LIKE MR . BOB GIMLIN AND Y’ALL HAVE THE SAME STORY OF LIFE THROWS AT U .. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK AND ENJOY YOUR WONDERFUL LIFE AS MUCH AS U CAN AND NEXT YEAR SASQUATCH CONFERENCE 2020 I HOPE I CAN TAKE A 2SD PICTURE OF U AND MR . BOB AT THE SAME TIME BOTH PF Y’ALL ARE MY HEROES FYI …

  27. Bert F

Wes so I got to say I’ve been around since the 13th episode I just can’t even tell you like my wife is like are we going to listen to Sasquatch Chronicles tonight like we’re going to bed early right and it’s just it’s just something that’s had such an impact on my life it’s like a walking meditation when I get to listen to the show it puts my mind at ease when I’m stressed out driving to work and I catch half an episode and it’s an archive it’s crazy. Crazy. You do good you have struggled and fought the good fight you are decent to people who may otherwise not receive a fair shake. It’s ok to give yourself credit and you already give it where it is due. Congratulations on all your success keep it moving

  28. Chance M

Wes, I wanna say thank you for all you do for the fans of the show. I felt honored in you allowing to share my experience and my fathers encounter. You are truly loved and deeply appreciated. God bless you buddy.

  29. NHSquatcher

Wes, this was an amazing story. Whoever that station manager was, well I wonder what he thinks now? Anyway you have a great voice for radio… I was in radio on a station for 6 years… I know the ‘formula’.

As for YouTube, there are not only tons of stories on there now, but a lot of them steal your work or try to emulate your work, and I’ve sent you lists and lists of plagiarists… many have been taken down. Not fair they were being monetized.

Anyway, carry on, we look forward to your shows each week….

  30. Charles R

That program director was dead wrong. I guess the genius never heard of Coast to Coast AM now coming up on 30 years and holds the number one rating in late night talk show ratings and has forever. Both Art Bell and George Noory gave one on one up to 4 hour interviews with very often paranormal encounter guests. They also gave ample time for listeners to call in with their stories, although they are much shorter in duration than Wes’ show.

Bob is a godsend. What an intervention at the right time and of course now the rest is history.

  31. Mauri G

Wow!! I got so emotional listening to you tell how things went down and how literally Bob was a God send ?? I remember when all the drama was going on and We are so blessed that you did not Quit!! I know this show has changed my life and many others. We love you Wes?

  32. Lydia L

Really cool getting to meet you this past weekend in Tomball, TX. 😀 glad my little brother invited me to come! He has shared his encounters with Sasquatch on your blog and maybe one day, I’ll email you mine. Thanks for doing you!

  33. Cristina J

Well Thank you for making my heart drop to the ground when I saw the title of the episode!! I love the story of you and Bob and nothing makes me happier than when you tell bits and pieces of things that mean something to you especially when you do a reenactment. I’m grateful to Bob get one for calling you that day because without that phone call we would not have something that means so much to me. Thank you Wes for everything you do! I really hope to one day get to fan girl out when I meet you!

  34. m99

Gee Wes. That was so touching. It made me LOL and later brought tears to my eyes. Oh, and I also got a flash of anger when you were told you and Woody have bad “radio” voices. You have a beautiful, sincere, and great voice.

When we discovered SC I was listening to whatever I could find on youtube. I remember landing on your voice. I swiveled around & looked at my husband and said “Finally!!!”. We followed right through as if it were a live show. I was vaguely annoyed by you know who, and when it ALL that went down, it was WHAT!!! I’m telling you, I felt as though I traveled through it with you. I was very sad that happened to you. Then, I learned you went your own way alone! I swear, it was so great. Ihad already fallen for SC. I love this program. We don’t know you, but we think you hung the moon.

What a great idea! Allowing people to share their encounters. You are the Best in the world of Bigfoot. And, I’m glad you have a friend like Mr. Gimlin. Glad you had fun and glad you shared this on ‘YOUR’ program. Lifting you as always!

  35. Steven B

Wes, for what it is worth, I am glad that you didn’t quit the show as well and I still really appreciate meeting you and Woody. God bless, Brother. 🙂

  36. pam

Those were the bad ‘ol days for sure! Look where “they” are now Wes! Starting and failing his podcasts, sites etc. Anyone around him long enough gets to know the “real expert’ lol.
Look where you are, have become! Wow, couldn’t happen to a nicer guy too.

  37. Janet B

Along with so many others Wes, I am beyond grateful that you decided to stay the course. You have touched and helped so many folks out there, and your presence here on SC is a Godsend to many. Bless you and Bob…cause we all sure need to hear you, and know that you’re there working hard for all of us.

    Hugs,

    Jan B

  38. Avrin D B

Oh my gosh I just became a member and was so grateful to find this informative, insightful, excepting and fascinating show. When I saw the words I Quit my world shook enough I grabbed my counter to hang on. What would I do without this show in my life? Cry and be sad enough to feel like I lost a loved one. So glad you hung in there and didn’t quit all those shows ago. You are needed by so many people, you give them a place to be normal about crazy things that aren’t. You are a friend in a storm. Thank you for this amazing show.

  39. Cathy S

Don’t know what I’d do without you on sasquatch chronicles. I do believe God orchestrated that day you almost quit. This show is meant to be. Yes Jesus says to forgive just as we have been forgiven. Unforgiveness is a cancer that can kill. God bless you Wes.

  40. Renee S

Awesome story! Thank you for sharing it. It’s a worthwhile lesson for any of us. We all do appreciate everything you do for the show. I agree w/many of the others’ comments that you have a radio quality voice. The first time I came across ur show, I remember thinking, wow, this dude’s legit! Your compassion & concern for others always shines through. Bob is all that a true friend should be, & it ‘s quite clear he feels the same towards you, Wes! So happy Bob called u that first time!

  41. Cindy W

Wes, Sugar, you need to be more like a Southern Baptist – NAME NAMES!! That fear alone out-fears going to Hell and let me tell you a Southern Baptist Preacher’s only mission, as his face turns blood red from screaming the scriptures, is to scare the Hell out of you………..literally!! Don’t ever be afraid to name names!! Love you-you are always the BEST of the BEST!!!

  42. Ronald M

Thanks Wes! Interesting history, can’t imagine what people would do without this Sasquatch Chronicals. Your the best Wes! Glad you didn’t listen to that radio jerk.

  43. Michael C

This is my favorite show. Only 25 minutes but it was full of what makes SC great….. friendship , honesty , humor , understanding, compassion, and communication that helps all the listeners feel part of a family Thanks Wes and you too Mr. Gimlin

  44. Susan H

Thank you so much for sharing the story with us Wes. I followed you all through that terrible time and am so glad you stayed with it. I look forward to all your shows and hope there will be at least 1000 more shows.

  45. Jay Carlsen

……….. Well I hope You don’t Quit ? Because that Gorilla would go back to some Gigantic Gorilla that was out of Place. And I do not think I could stuff it into the back Corners of my Mind again since I have found the answers to this Traumatic Memory – it has grown to Large to stuff back into the Box.
And I Tell EVERYONE ( just ask my Children , they will tell you all about it ) Because of this Show. As it has been the only Serious Platform this Topic has seen. I tell People I don’t even know ! ‘ Hey …….. Do you want to hear something CRAZY ? ‘ is usually how it begins. Then I go for the LINE DRIVE with the ‘ I seen a 10 foot Tall Gorilla on top of Hodenpyle Dam in the summer of 2000. ‘ And so far I have been able to judge if they Believe what I am saying ? or just only think I am starving for attention ? with that said. Even though I will recite the Night I walked down the Road with that Thing that Ecorted me that Mile , And thinking that I left it there when I began walking away from my chosen Destination. ( Because if I were to turn back Home from where I was , it would only have put me back into Thicker Woods than I had just Walked Through !) and too seeing that Thing Standing there in the next Lane over from me , looking back where I had just come from. That didn’t move a Muscle…… And the Stick that broke in 2 Pieces just behind me and when I turned back to get me a better look at this Gorilla and it was GONE Without a sound ! Running to the Paved Road I should have taken Earlier – then walking home looking over my shoulder the whole way.
And if I still have their attention ? I will tell them of that Footprint I had held in 1978.

And EVERYONE who rolls their eyes , I just chalk up as Another who will be Totally Surprised if it ever becomes Public. And I am always Amazed at just How Many People have heard of this Show. ( As I am Promoting it daily ) And there are the Occasional ” OH ! HEY !!! ” Moments that have taken me by Surprize. That come from People who I would never even Guess. Some even validating what I had seen !

And it was This Show that has gave me the Courage to tell every Police Officer who I come across. ( Because if ANYONE would know of this Nocturnal Nation of Feral People ? It would be Them. Or Maybe they would recognize some Pattern concerning these things that others would not ? And I was Particularly Flattered that the Officer who patrols our little Northwestern Michigan Town rolled up to me one night. Too Introduce the new Officer who was assigned to him ? ( or however that works ) And he let me go into detail about what I had seen. ( and if they were laughing as they drove away ?) …….. that’s fine. I will be the one Laughing when they are recognized by the Public. All Because Wes & Woody started this ball rolling. ( I had already abandoned all hope with ‘ Finding Bigfoot ‘ to do the Topic Justice )

I would like to take this time to thank Bob, I will probably never get to meet you Bob,
So thank you for that phone call!
Thanks Wes for hanging in there….it was a little rocky but you pulled through just fine.
Over the years I’ve listed to all of the shows multiple times, except THAT
one. It breaks my heart to even try. Once was enough. Though I agree it was for the best!
    Love your show.
    Keep up the awesome work!

Wes. Thank You for sharing this beautiful story. I had goosebumps throughout the entire 25 minutes. I knew Bob was special…However I hadn’t realized how truly inspiring he actually is…He’s correct..Forgiveness is something that frees us & we are far better off when we humbly forgive others. I’ve been a subscriber & supporter for only 2 years..So I wasn’t around during the difficult times…But I am SO VERY GRATEFUL that Bob talked you into continuing this important podcast & platform. You give people a voice. You entertain. You educate. You comfort. You validate. You inspire. You have impacted myself & countless others. Please know your voice & Sasquatch Chronicles are incredibly special. Thank You from the bottom of my heart. Sending you blessings & Love. Adding Mr. Gimlin to my daily prayers as he’s a blessing to us all. As are you sir. Brilliant podcast & you’re a BRILLIANT GENTLEMAN. Cheers. ????

So many good people have responded to this episode. It is a wonderful thing to see. I usually don’t talk but I thought you should know what SC means to me. I have PTSD, Wes. My form is very destructive, we are all different, but mine brings me to a fugue state where I black out and come back just as I am about to kill myself. I have survived many episodes and we work to always delay or stop the next episode. I am this way because of a nightmare life. As a child I was brutalized and suffocated, subject to physical trauma including concussions and a fractured skull. When I joined the military I was hurt several times and damn near dead four times. The events piled up om me until the PTSD kicked in and I entered this vast place of depression and hopelessness, where I loose my own sense of value then an episode occurs. As I watch the brutality people show each other, the contempt some display, the pain others want to draw from their victims I loose a little bit more of my humanity and hope edging me closer to the next episode, the next attempt. These are the same kind of people who attack you. They do it because you are something they can not be no matter how hard they try, you are a man who connects with those of us who have suffered. It is your humanity that they covet, perhaps the gift that God has given you. If they can not have what you possess they will do their best to depose you, to hurt you. When I first hear you I listened to a man who cared about his guests. I clearly heard your compassion and humanity, such a good and pure thing that came with each episode you produce. Each time I listen to you I hear the type of world I search for, each time I listen to you I move a little further away from my next event. I have known from the first that your are real and It is your genuine humanity that brings us to your side, happily to your side. Think of how you felt when Bob Gimlin called you and breathed spirit back into your life, that is how I feel when I listen to your shows. We are survivors on the same road, each of us with our own nightmare. I may not have seen a bigfoot but I recognize a fellow survivor. I am thankful you resumed this path, it gives me hope and that is a good thing. You may not know me but I am your friend and I wish you all the best. Thankyou. God bless. P.S. I am very happy you found Tony Mercle.

Wes..my favorite show ever!! My chest is trembling, I’m still trying to catch my breath as tears are streaming down. What a great story about Mr.Bob Gimlin. What a wonderful man. Damn, so happy you stayed on. You’ve helped me through many lonely nights. Peace Love

Well Wes I’ve got to add my 2 cents worth ?. I immediately started crying when I read the episode title I quit. Then I got upset with myself because I was crying over a podcast!!! But it didn’t stop the complete feeling of loss and devastation I felt at the thought that you weren’t going to be hosting SC anymore. I quickly scrolled down to the comments and caught on that you weren’t quitting. It was a story about you and Bob.
I’m very happy you are continuing with SC.
And I know it was hard on you earlier in the show what you went through with Shannon and Jevning. But honestly I’m glad it happened. You are such a better interviewer than he could ever ever hope to be and the quality of the show is so much higher with out him. I hope you know as weird as it sounds, you are a friend to all of us here who listen and believe.
Take care of yourself. You are important to us.
    Marian

When my world shifted and made no sense I stumbled on your and Woody’s encounter online. YouTube? Hotspot radio? Can’t even remember now. LOL then low and behold not long after that you started your podcast. 🙂 I am another who has been here from the beginning. I am like Marian B….Jevning, i’ll Say it. He wasn’t worth your time. Truthfully, in those days I struggled to continue to listen sometimes because HE, not you was so frustrating to listen to. Hated, hated, hated what you went through and all that drama and crap. Delighted beyond belief that you continued without your blowhard baggage.(gosh how I wanted to say that then) Yeah, that radio guy really doesn’t know his stuff…you have an awesome and calming voice. Anybody who tells you otherwise is just jealous and that monster is a nasty one. 🙁 Back in those days I was an active member of The Bigfoot Forum….ROFL! Probably the forum that another member above stated that didn’t want to hear the truth and running over with skeptics. Been there, done that…good riddance. That kooky place almost caused me to give up on anything and anybody connected to Sasquatch.

Thank you for sharing the day you quit(almost gave me a heart attack too) and a wonderful story about forgiveness and Bob Gimlin. I think you told a little of it back then when Bob came on the show? Anyway, I know I fell in love with Bob Gimlin that very first show. It is obvious that he is a very special man. Thank you Bob! I will never get to meet him either but just wanted to thank him here. THank you Wes…Thank you Bob! Keep on keepin’ On! 🙂

I am late hearing this one because my granddaughter was here visiting. Better late than never…especially for this one! 🙂

    Dear Wes,

I’ve only made it through a few minutes of your show; I’ll listen to the rest as soon as I’m done with this post.
Oh, I’m glad you never quit.
History has proven anytime someone says: “Why would you do that? No one has ever done that before. That’ll never work. If ain’t broke don’t fix it. Who’s going to like that? etc. Know you are on the right track. I’m glad you’ve kicked that Radio Guy in the ass….and anyone who wanted you to fail. Repeating myself; I’m so glad you didn’t quit. From listening to the show I think there might have been more than once. But I’m looking forward to hearing this story.

Here is a song for you…It’s called They all laughed; this version is by Charlie Bibble Trio-it’s from Whole Nine Yards. The song is about people being successful when others critized them.

Wes, so glad you hung in there, this show never gets old and it’s one I look forward to every weekend. I remember being captivated by your “Siege at Honobia show and I was hooked. Growing up Bigfoot was always on my mind ever since the “Legend of Boggey Creek” and how much that movie freaked me out at ten years old and always wondering if this thing really did exist. Thanks to you and your brave guests who come on every week I now am convinced of its existence. Trying to keep this post short I’ll end it by saying stay humble and keep being who you are, you deserve all the success you’ve achieved by staying the course and letting your guests speak. Quick shout out to Bob for the encouragement he gave you when you needed it most.

  55. Debbie C

Wes, I’m glad you never quit Sasquatch Chronicles:)!
Wes and Woody have soothing voices, your voice is easy
on our ears. I am glad SC is here, I look forward to every show
    you put out.
Bob Gimlin seems like a great guy:) I’m glad Wes and Woody are good
    friends with Bob.
Love Sasquatch Chronicles:)! Thank you Wes for being you because there’s
    nobody like you!

  56. Guy B

    Wess,
Some of my favorite shows are when you personally open up and share your thoughts and insights. From your first shows to the present there has been an observable growth of wisdom, humility , insight and knowledge in you. You brought me with you on that journey. Thank you. God bless you and keep it up brother. I look forward to meeting you some day.

  57. Terran S

Wes, I just want to say what a great show and platform you have. Two years ago, the last of my children left home to start his own life in Montana. I was in a very bad place in my head. Lonely, not knowing what or how to go forward after being ‘Mom’ for so many years.

By happenstance, I found your show. Every week, I began to look forward to your show….it got me out of my own head and through a very rough time. The show improved even more when there were no longer co-hosts. We got to listen to your guests without constant interruptions.

Thanks so much for everything you do. And to Mr. Gimlin, a true gentleman.

  58. Nicholas R

Wes your show is superb! Period! I’ve been quietly listening to every podcast since day 1 (subscribed as well) and I simply love your show. You’ve educated me in the existence of this creature, etc. Invaluable knowledge. I now have a bachelor’s degree in Bigfootology thanks to Wes Germer……….lol

Keep up the good work………………Wes………you’re great…………..

  59. MONTE M

That episode, was it 90? is one non believers need to listen to. You can not make that shit up! I can not see how someone could listen to that story of that defining moment in Bigfoot discovery by one of the people involved with it and not believe the truth in Bobs voice and story. Thank you Bob and Thank You Wes. That interview is epic ! And there is another one with him that is just as good I do not remember which number that was either but it was also epic.

  60. Doug K

Hey Wes. I’m so glad you continued the show. To me you are like a LEGEND of the airwaves.!! I hope you continue these programs for many many years to come. Glad you are back !!!

  61. Joanne G

Wes, you change the world one episode at a time. You inform, encourage, save, entertain, and on and on. You’re part of families. So glad you’ve kept up the show. You are the show, and by now you probably know why you had your encounter! It was for the rest of us. God bless your ever lovin’ soul!

  62. Gerald G

I’m so grateful for your show Wes you’ve allowed me to share with you my story of my experience. You and your brother woody are men of integrity . Bob was so right on about forgiveness taking the higher road is always the road . Thanks you

  63. David L

I’m genuinely grateful you went with your gut on how this show should be presented. I’ve been a member for a few months now and I’ve worked my way back through every single episode. When I got to the parts where Will was still involved I had to stop myself throwing my phone out the car window… Constant interruptions to talk about himself, talking over people and he generally came across as a typical ‘bigfoot researcher’. Your recipe for the show since then is faultless, and the encounters keep getting better and better.
If I were wearing a hat right now, I’d tip it in your honour. Thanks Wes, and all the people who tell their stories which make this such a great show. I couldn’t function without my daily fix!

You may never see this due to the length of time from original to this comment, but, just in case you do. Sometimes you make comments about wondering if there really is a God…..and as a person that spends a lot of time focusing on spirituality, I just gotta say, this story is one of the hallmark of God. So many people write things off to coincidence, but some things are undeniably grace at work. The immense love that was given and generated and spread by one person picking up a phone at exactly the right time…….everyone can see it, but they don’t understand it and many might call it lucky. One day it will dawn upon you that the very best moments in your life contained great love and were orchestrated for you, when that happens you will never doubt again, because like seeing a sasquatch, you will be a knower and not a believer anymore. God Bless and much love.
