SC EP:260 It’s eyes were real real evil, real sinister looking

Mike Wooley will be my guest tonight and he will be talking about his movie that is now available, and retelling his terrifying encounter with two Sasquatch creatures while he was hunting. That day changed his life, and Mike opens up how the encounter had a negative impact on his life.

I will also be speaking to Ben who writes “I’m not sure where to start, but here goes. I’m 37. I’m from middle Tennessee.

After reading and listening to probably thousands of accounts over the past 3 or 4 years, and listening to your shows for a few months, I think I may be ready to share my experiences.

To say I grew up in the woods doesn’t quite cut it. I have always preferred the company of trees over people. I was in my element in nature. I WAS the woods. It wasn’t uncommon for me to spend days, weeks, or even months out by myself. I loved it.

As a kid I would often hear or feel things that just didn’t fit. I would basically laugh it away or just ignore it. I KNEW what was out there and Bigfoot never entered my mind. Even when I saw what could only have been a young one when I was about 14. In the open on an old dirt road not 10 feet from me. Still never thought Bigfoot.

Even with all the stick and log structures that we knew “somebody” had to have made. The upside down trees. The rock stacks. The bare footprints. (Not overly large) The sounds. I don’t know how the connection was never made.

Then comes 2004. I was screamed at twice by “something” just a few months apart. I was alone both times. The first time was during the day. As scary as it was I reasoned it away. The second time I was standing on a bridge in the middle of a very dark night. It ran by within a few feet of me and screamed again! Even though it was so dark that I couldn’t actually see it, I could feel the bridge shake with each step. I couldn’t explain it this time. I have barely been back in the woods since that night.

There is much more to the story and many more things I remember from back when. I haven’t told many people about this stuff, not really sure where I would even start. Like I said, I never made the connection to Sasquatch until maybe 4 years ago.”

Just Have Say Thank-You again to Wes for having created Sasquatch Chronicles in the first place. Witness NOT having the acceptance & support of those around them is BY FAR the largest contributing factor to ongoing psychological & emotional trauma following an encounter, and IT HAS TO STOP. It’s disgustingly alienating. So thank-you Wes. Sincerely, Thank-You

I love those! Can’t wait to get Mike’s movie, not that I think it needs more drama added to it, but to make it long enough for the public, you would have to. I’m to old to want to get “up close and personal” with a Bigfoot, and I feel more and more for people like Mike and Ben who have been out and so at home in the woods like my Dad and brother, nephews are, but then see the “impossible” or something you can’t really comprehend. It has to be a form of ptsd that they and you suffer from. I wish you’d have one of the ones from your encounter drawn by Sybilla! That would be so awesome. Thank you Wes for hitting another one out of the park for us. I had a great Sasquatch Chronicles weekend.

Love the show Wes. I wish I was not caught up to the latest episode. I ran across your show in late 2014, and I listened for about 6 months from show to show, And I knew I had to become a subscriber, So I became a paid Subscriber, and I had all of the members only episodes to catch up on, Wes your show format is awesome. Your voice is Soothing to me and I enjoy every moment as I listen. Keep up the great work. I for one have never had an encounter. ( I know be careful what you wish for.) I live in a small town named Zephyrhills, yep like the water. About 35 miles northeast of Tampa, not far from the green swamp. I know there had been encounters there with the Skunk Ape. I live in a pretty rural area, and I was born in Tampa . I have seen Bears, Deer, Panthers aka mountain lion, or cougar Depending on the region that folks live. Now in my 53 years in this area I have never seen a skunk well a live one, I have seen several skunks that are dead on the side of the road I assume they have hit by a vehicle of some sort. But I have only seen 5 dead in my life. However I do smell what I’m assuming is a Skunk. But it’s possible it could be a Skunk ape, But I don’t know. I would love to do some field research. But I’m a cancer survivor and am in remission. I used to primitive camp in ocala, I have seen bears there also, but again several times I did walk into the Skunk smell. Sorry to ramble on. Bottom line I may have come close to an encounter. But I will never know. Again thanks so much for all you do for the Sasquatch Followers, and the sasquatch community. Thanks Sincerely
    Scott D

Wow nice sasquatch painting by artist
    Sybilla Christine Irwin!

Hi Wes, I email you awhile back asking
    When will your bigfoot store
sale mugs-coffee cups and ball caps with your
    Sasquatch Chronicles logo on them?

It was great to hear Mike actually talk about the isolation and depression that goes along with a bad encounter, this needs more conversation aimed at it. If you Don’t tell anyone, you will be freaked out isolated and depressed. On the other hand, if you DO tell someone, you will likely be ridiculed and ripped on, made the object of jokes, shunned and isolated, which will also cause depression. Damned if you do, damned if you if you don’t. Seeing one at long range may be a thrill, but bad encounters ruin peoples lives. Careful what you wish for.

Such a great show tonight. So enjoyed hearing Mike again he didn’t mention it, but the little dear got away and I’m sure glad he did. The last guest did have a creep story. Anything with bridges in it always seems creepier to me. Thank you Wes. j.v.

Yes that is the sketch at the top of the page. I asked sybilla out of all the bigfoot artwork she has done which bf was the scariest to the person who had the encounter and she said mike wooley. That bf was the most aggressive.

Great idea. I’m writing Wes on the ballot. During the first debate, I was kicking myself for not running, but Wes is a much better choice. SC could go out on VOA!

is the above pic with the animal behind the tree gritting its teeth supposed to be the sketch mentioned during the show? if so was there no hair on its face?? and while listening, ive always thought they had a native american look to their face. could they have been bred with natives? maybe kidnapped children were kept as sex slaves, or perhaps these creatures were captured and raped? or both? so many possibilities. would love to hear your folks’ thoughts.

Your friend always from Texas.. Reid

Hi welcome to the show, we’ve got a great show planned for you tonight, I appreciate the folks who come on the show, without them the show wouldn’t be the show. I appreciate the show.

Love SC Wes and your word loop!

Wes, you stopped ben from finishing his story about what happened when he was trapped in the creek by the 3 dogs. He never said how he got away and how it ended. You asked him to tell a different story before he finished.

  13. Ben H

It’s OK Linda W. I missed a few other details along the way any how! I was a bit nervous and quite surprised at how much adrenaline I had going while telling it.

I had noticed when I would face away from the screamer it would stop. So I faced upstream and started walking, staying as deep as I could in the water. The dogs followed me for around 1/3 of a mile, with the alpha running back and forth on the gravel bars barking and growling, and the other two growling from the bank.

The bank finally narrowed down to just a creek bluff wall and they stopped following. It was the longest walk of my life!!

Maybe the next time Wes gets a report from someone who has seen a young one he can get us both on to compare notes on the encounters!

Hi Ben. Thanks for sharing. Once, when I was about 18 or 19 I went in my car to the outskirts of town where the development ended and the old woods began. I grew up in the woods and just needed to be alone and listen to nothing but birds and such. So, I pulled down a dirt road and turned my car around. Something impressed me to not go walking as I planned, so I perched on the back of the car. Then in the distance, through the woods I heard weird growling. Then it sound louder and like a lot of dogs coming through the brush. Something said, get in the car! But I didn’t. I was amazed at the sound. Then something said to get in the car! So I did, just in time, when a pack of wild dogs pushed through and rushed my car as I was closing the door. Luckily (I think) the window was up in the car. It was terrorizing. I could not believe it. They would have ripped me to shreds if I hadn’t got in the car. I was so shaken up. I thought of all those times walking in the woods like little red riding hood. I was not scared in the woods before. I felt it was a sanctuary. Me & my younger brother just lived in the woods and sometimes I’d go alone. We were knee high to a grasshopper. We weren’t “allowed” to go in the woods, and my dad said there are “boogers” out there. He never explained what that meant (we thought it a fear tactic, to control us). And, because of that, me & my brother were secretive about sneaking off to play in the woods. Anyway, thanks for sharing- this was incredible. I listen to the old shows sometimes. One of my favorites.

  15. Anne W

Mike’s account was the first story I heard on SC. It scared the bejeezus out me and still does. I have had the pleasure of meeting Mike and hanging out with him and he is a genuine, honest person.

  16. Penny F

It is stunning really that there are so many encounters and there are still witnesses like Mike that suffer in silence due to the culture.
I like the idea of support groups. That is what Wes and Sasquatch Chronicles really are for folks. People are not CRAZY. These creatures EXIST!

  17. L S

Real nice guy, that Mike Wooley. We were blessed to have him while we did and I’m glad he got his encounter out. This is one I’ve been looking for and waiting a long time to hear. Glad I finally did. Was worth the wait, but it wasn’t easy.
