SC EP:172 Strange activity in the woods

Bob Garrett comes on and we discuss an investigation about going activity at a family home in the woods. Bob and I spoke to the witnesses the other night we will give you an update on what is going on.

I will be also speaking to two police officers who are listeners of the show and they found some very interesting evidence in the woods. You have seen the video posted to the blog a couple of days ago titled “Strange activity in the woods.” I have posted the video below.

The gentlemen are going to share the context behind that video. They had some interesting things happen while in the woods when they were recording that video. Join me tonight!

Another great show. Honestly Wes I don’t know how you do it. Week after week and day after day you come up with absolutely amazing content for your viewing audience. Sasquatch Chronicles is second to none as far as sasquatch based shows go. Not only is the content phenomenal but you have some of the best interviewing skills if not the best I have heard in quite some time. The dedication and empathy you show to your viewers and guests is genuine and exceeds most other hosts, not only for sasquatch related shows but any shows in general. SC is entertaining, enjoyable and most of all educational. This show is one of a kind and blows all expectations people have out of the water with every episode. You seem to have a great amount of strong character and that goes a long way with me. And I’m absolutely honored to be along for the ride. It’s one hell of an experience

New player stops when I attempt to do something else on my phone (Android) while listening. (Like play a game…surf…ect) Old player doesn’t stop and I can multitask. I say keep the old player.

  3. Jan W

Good show. Hope these guys come back with more evidence. Interesting area they are visiting and sounds very “active”. Hearing the voice mumbling was rather creepy. And the ticks would be awful! Thanks for sharing!

  4. Cindy G

Hi Wes, it seems I can listen to both the old and new player. Note that I only have my phone right now to access internet because my laptop crashed about 2 months ago. (I will be getting a new lap top for Christmas)! I skimmed through the show and can listen with the new player. Now I’m not really the ‘techno’ type but as long as I can get my weekly dose of your show, I’m one happy camper!

Really great shows last night night. I agree with Wes about appreciating the police. But Chad if you take one for the team from a big male keep it to yourself. Haha. Remember Squatch voices matter

  6. randolph w

Some serious possessive issues going on with these squatches. I would love to see one batting out my flood lights, it’s petty fur would be paintballed, I’m talking tyedyed. Great show, love when bobs on.

  7. darren w

This was a great show. I may have been the “one jerk” who commented on the video and I want to apologize. Sorry man. It was never my intent to anger anyone. I guess I just grow wary of videos that have been dubbed over with music and text. Hearing your voices and who you guys are and listening to your story was killer though. Thats good stuff.
Bob and Wes too. Always great.

  8. James A

Great show Wes! Big Bob Garrett fan, glad he’s getting back on the show! Thanks for sharing Kelly and Chas, keep fighting the good fight! They’ll be doubters and haters, but don’t be discouraged!!!

  9. Lisa H

Can’t wait to hear the show! What time does the “live” show come on, and do I listen to it here? (I know, I missed this show, but I’ll just download it). Thanks!!

  10. Donna A

Great to hear Bob again on yet another awesome show! Would love to know more on what all happened with him when he got hit in the face so hard by a rock thrown. Hope these cops find out some more stuff, too.

  11. Kenneth M

If the bigfoot are vengefull, and one preps accordingly (fortify the home and arm and bring a few discreetly armed males to the home.) all the better to bring on a dead body for evidence. If one gets shot on the porch – others may come for its body, The body is bait for shooting others.

The house can be fortified by reinforcing around windows, numerous electric fences wrapped around or even on the home, razor wire on the house, improvised flash bangs, etc. Men with 300 magnums, 12 gauge shotguns and lots of powerful lights (AND CAMERAS) should be able to take a few – at least enough to get blood samples for DNA and footage of a body before its recovered by its “brothers”

I would be hooking something up to my door knobs and if they touched it would shock those mamma jammas into next year. I don’t know why but them checking the door knobs scares the hell out of me.

    • Paul M

Hi Ken m. Your talking about Goin to WAR with these beasts. Not sure if that’s good mojo. I’m not one for just leaving the area either. Mabel start more suttle. Lights of all kinds. Show of wepons. Do some target shootin near the house. If that don’t work then call in a drone strike. Or at least a posse of dudes with 300 ultra mags.

Bob Garrett said some things that I have formed conclusions about from my own experience where these creatures are concerned. (Episode 108) My brother and his family have their own experiences with these creatures. For the most part, these animals leave us alone. It’s not a daily problem in dealing with them. These are accumulative experiences. We had talked about why these animals seem to leave his livestock alone for the most part. Yes, he has had chickens and their feed disappear, we have had dogs injured or killed, but he has had ponies, goats, sheep, Alpaca, and others that were left alone. Yes, I’ve experienced slaps on the side of my house, but it’s been a few years and last winter my brothers family experienced not only pounding on their house but also scratching down the side of the house. I was able to hear the pounding at my house! And they seem to love hitting anything metalic. I’ve heard screams that resemble a cross between human and animal. Let me get to the point. My brother and I had formed the opinion that they must somewhat just accept us as part of this territory. Like Bob said, they know us and deal with it. On the other hand when someone new moves in, it’s a different story. A few years ago another brother moved into my other brothers vacant house. They had nothing but trouble from these creatures, pounding on the walls at all hours of the night, throwing rocks, dogs disappeared, different vocals but my brothers family hunted deer in all seasons for food.and we think that was also upsetting to these creatures. I think Bob Garett is right on track in stating they tolerate the little patch of ground you have your house and yard on. And that they travel through at will. I believe they recognize on sight humans in “their” area. On the other hand if I was the young woman with two young children, I would definitely move out of that house. It is not worth the risk remaining there, since they are obviously targeted.

    • Joyce N

I gotta agree there. Could turn into another Honobia incident. Not worth one of the kids getting hurt how can you live with yourself if something would happen to them? Get outta Dodge . He would you explain your kid getting drug off by one of them to the police. That damn Nancy Grace would be up your ass with a flash light looking to prove you killed your own kid and blamed it on sasquatch. I can see the headlines. Nancy up there blathering on about the “sasquatch defense” Newp, not worth it. Not worth the trauma or the drama. Nancy would be like..hey, this just released: ” Woman pleads Sasquatch Defense seen hanging with Casey Anthony at a bar” …yeah she’s a fuckwit. Bad enough to go thru what you’re already going thru and then have that damn viper hanging off your ass. Move..let the squatch have it. They’re just gonna keep being obnoxious as hell- saw where this group of guts go to problem sasquatch areas- the chase them out for a while, few months later they’re back. You’re not gonna get rid of them unless you start shooting them. And you better have alot of bullets..alot ..of bullets, preferably for an elephant gun. This truck driver situation is not going to work out. I’m surprised he can go out on the road knowing what could be happening at home. She needs to get to somewhere safe. This ain’t working. Bad enough to put yourself in harm’s way , but your kids..No way.

  13. James D

I really liked what Wes said at the end there, about the nature of those who live their lives in service LIKE these two policemen. Thanking them for all they do was a good thing in this day and age, and this coming from someone who is outraged by the way that the police seem to be killing so many Americans-black Americans. It was pretty obvious though, these guys weren’t evil people at all-they were funny, good natured, curious and likeable guys who have the same interest as we do. AND…they are actually doing something constructive and brave WITH that curiosity. Like Bob, Wes, Mark, and my buddy Ant-anee. Great show Wes.

  14. pam

Bob’s insights on the behavior of these creatures show his wisdom and experience in this field.
Maybe we should refer to him as Dr. Bob ,bfPhd , aka “the bigfoot whisperer”.
The family in the bigfoot territory NEED to move now! It is a rental, it is a threat to the kids,
the woman, her husband and guests. What kind of childhood is that?

  15. David D

Thanks Wes and Bob, great show. And the new “player” thingy is great! I don’t have to hit the mouse with my reacher anymore when I’m on my exercise bike to no-where. Always get a lot out of Bobs’ comments, guys to the real deal. I really got a kick out of what he said about his wife-funny as all get out. But, the guy in the tarp structure, not so sure he’s being straight with you and us. He commented on how he heard “someone” walking toward his area, and thought it must have been his bro; or friend. Yea, that would make me want to point a shotgun in his direction; uh-hugh! Makes me wonder if he ever had hunters safety. Know your target! I don’t wish to seem to critical, but everyone has a different fear-tolerance- level, that they can try to define when they are in the middle of something, I get it, but this guy is supposed to be trained. anyway, got my head back on right-had a snickers (ha) just kidding; just get a bit cranky when the old BS goes to low. Anyone else notice the similarity (comparing to), Chaz’s voice, and “Chucks’ voice on Street Outlaws? Un-canny! The two could be related-scary.–If the fruit stems in the stone box, were indeed grapes, and you didn’t see any grape vines in the area, then the obvious conclusion is that the were carried in; (wild, or Muscatine?) Maybe, someone living nearby, within a few miles, has a grape arbor, and one of these creepy@ss things decided to raid it, and there you go. Or, they, (the stems) were in someone’s lunch box or bag at one point. Check with Palides. Could be someone has gone missing in the last year or so. Hey Chaz, next time, shoot first-ask forgiveness later! Rule 14? Maybe the guys from the BFRO, were leaving them snacks(grapes). These two didn’t sound like cops. Usually cops don’t wish to be identified, and they usually sound a bit more- kinda like they’re looking over their shoulder or something. If they are, God bless em. Anyhoot, hope that they stay safe, I don’t think there’s anything to any of it, but they had fun, made a short vid; appreciate it I guess.

  16. mark s

Appreciate the vid guys, definitely think about the shoulder cam pointing behind you for filming to catch peekers and hiding trail cams in coolers to snap when opened, just a opinion. Thanks again enjoyed and good luck.

Wonderful show. Thanks Wes, really enjoyed hearing of you and Bob trouble shoot for those folks. And the interview with Chas and Kelly, was very impressive. Their account and experiences very interesting to listen to. Appreciate both audio and video posts. I always enjoy hearing from Bob. Thanks again……..Hope everyone stays SAFE!

  19. Jeffrey H

Dr. Bob & Wes, great combination. Love it when you have Dr. Bob Garrett on!???????? The two LEO’s seem like really standup guys and truly believe in their experience. I really look forward to Chaz & Kelly coming back after they have some great experience in their researching. I’m sure, as Wes stated, they are in a hot area because when I heard about the rock formation it made me think that’s where the BF mother puts her baby while she goes out forging. I learned that from Mitch Waite (who passed away not to long ago) who was a researcher in AZ until his passing.

  20. Jeffrey H

Chaz & Kelly: Great video guys!???????? I really enjoyed it and the choice of music too! On YouTube there is a gentleman by the name of Freddie Kanney who talks a lot about tree breaks and what they might mean. You will see a lot of his tree breaks that are not only snapped but twisted. He has a large amount of videos and talks about his 20+ years of researching. He just started interviewing other researchers on his videos, might be worth a watch. Might catch something new on these tree breaks. All the best, be safe on the job & out in those woods!

  21. Joyce N

Bob, I love ya dearly. But there is no such word as “vocitile” , you mean “volatile”. You’re still the bravest of the bravest. Love to hear ya talk. Keep up the great work. You’re awesome.

  22. Danny H

Great job guys. Thanks for taking the time to put that mini documentary together too. I’m really liking the video aspect of the subject. Well, legitimate video anyway. When’s Mark coming back Wes!!

  23. Laura K

This was great and I love that you took the time, Wes, to acknowledge what these guys do everyday. Appreciate all of you, gentlemen, for your time and sharing with us. Haven’t been able to catch up on SC for a couple weeks but wanted to say I’m sorry for your loss, Wes, and will be praying for all who are grieving for your Grandmother. Thanks again!!!

  24. Philip W

The rock shelter is interesting. Besides the grape stems, I wondering if there was any other kind of physical evidence there.

I’m wondering if there were any signs of hair or if the young one may have left fecal remains or something else that showed it was there. Was there anything that might indicate this was a multiple use spot?

Is there a way to check if there is an area there where they grow wild or maybe if someone nearby is growing them.

If someone is growing them, then maybe they have encountered the Sasquatches. If there’s a known area where the grapes may grow wild, it may be worth investigating when grapes come back into season.

  25. william g

Thanks to these good young men for putting it on the line, all the people these days hating on peace officers have not an ounce of their courage,my respect to law officers is no less than my respect for the American military.I love these guys methodical approach to their research, the idea of the children’s dirty clothes could prove very successful,as we all have learned they are attracted to children. My only advice would be if you do that, don’t take your children in those woods for a weekend of camping.

  26. Jay Carlsen

This is my 2nd time listening to This. ( Actually the Third . I was Beat & fell Asleep the First Time. So Subliminal…. ) But 1 Point I must Bring Up . Those Video’s on Facething ? Everyone I seen that gets Shot has Had a Weapon in there Hands . And will not Drop It.
What is Wrong with People These Day’s ? If I have Any involvement with an Officer of the Law ? I wouldn’t even Be Holding My ASS !
Let alone having to Be Told to Put It Down.
I Learned a Long Time Ago , it is Best to just Cooperate. It’s NO USE – They Always Win ( YES , I Had It Coming. And that IS Being Bias )
But I Applaud You Gentlemen , Thank You For Your Service ! I Quit Drinking in 2000 ( So We Are Cool Now – I haven’t been Back to Jail Since ! for drinking)
& I don’t know If Sasquatch is a Republican ? But if they ever take away the Second Amendment – We are No Longer a Free Country.

  27. Blake S

Has anyone tried one of those laser bird scarers, farmers use them to keep birds from eating crops, also try other types of bird scarers, I remember a inflatable scarecrow that pops up every 15mins or so, worth a try.

  28. brian c

Missouri? what part? I have multiple tree breaks, even a double break 8.5′ high. 7′ apart. 3-4″ diameter. One limb was twisted 180 degrees (wrapped around). Cant see wind doing that one! long LOUD vocals. Lungs of a T-Rex – as someone described. Then Monkey chatter immediately following…9 years ago. Before I heard of “monkey chatter” term from show! all in SW MO. Awful odor once, came back 20 mins later….no odor. strange.. a few other odd instances. interested in more Missouri encounters Wes!!!!!! . Can they really be HERE?! Never a sighting, but just adding up the data. Keep up the show Wes. Big fan.

  29. Joyce N

Watched the video…interesting..good tune playing…who knew cops had good taste in tunes? …, apparently only me…lol. I think the boys were being honest. .maybe the Sasquatch didn’t start any shit because they knew they were law enforcement. Seems they don’t tangle with law enforcement much. Ever notice that?
Wes, who was that cop that you had on a few times? I think he knew Coonbo. The one that got called away to an abandoned home when he was on your show to a fictitious crime and then one of the higher ups tried to say he didn’t show up until much later than he really did.
Then there was the more recent cop that went to the cranky old man’s house because a Sasquatch ate his dog food and his dogs disappeared next. Remember, he was saying he was on the porch talking to the man through the door. No sasquatch attack on the cop. The sasquatch was emaciated , starving..but never attacked the cop. Maybe too weak to or knew he had a gun. Still weird though. I wonder if sasquatch recognize what a cop is or does or firemen. If they understand what those uniforms stand for, so they don’t bother them. Think about it..They must see cops pulling people over for speeding or drug busts. I’m sure they’ve happened at night along highways in the middle of nowhere. They probably watched firefighters put out flaming houses or forest fires. If they can identify with guns, what else can they identify with? It seems all of them aren’t bad, some just want to live without a bunch of trouble. Live and let live as Bob has told us quite a bit. They have their rules. There’s a line they don’t want crossed. Other times they’re complete assholes for no apparent reason. Territorial alot of the time, of course, if I were they , I’d probably feel the same. People like their space, why shouldn’t they? Oh well, it is what it is. Gotta love, Bob though, where would we be without the things he’s learned? More simplicity and common sense then 10 of your self proclaimed ” Bigfoot researchers. ” He’s a pretty amazing fellow even if he does mix up his words from time to time. Although, I still disagree keeping a rental property for which you’ll never truly own, and duke it out with sasquatch with aggressive behavior. Especially when kids are involved. I wonder if this aggressive crap all started with an original renter doin g that “gifting” crap

  30. Robert D

Hi wes its always a pleasure when bob garrett is on great job. im still researching the vermont bigfoot picture that we talked about back in october. ill let you know when i get some more info. thanks from bob d NH Rockthrower

  31. Patrick F

Good show. Bob garret speaks with such authority about sasquatch like he just sees them all the time. I know he said he has photos and video of them. When will he let us see maybe even one good photo? Getting Bit tedious? The video was great, straight to the point and showing clear evidence. Why can’t garret do the same? Just saying. Thanks for the show.

  32. Amy D

Hi Wes, maybe I missed it from a previous episode , but could you briefly explain sometime how you and Bob got together & all that? You guys seem to be the” go to “guys if this ever ‘breaks wide open’! Love the shows!

  33. SANDRA E

This is, in my opinion, one of the best episodes ever and Bob was the icing on the cake….love that guy! And Kelly and Chas, thank you for sharing your encounter. I hope you keep in touch and have more encounters to share with us. Thanks Wes for all you do to make SC the “go to” show on my list.

  34. Vince B

Just wanted to make a note to the two cops about the question asked Wes about their sense of smell. It seems they have a really good sense of smell because in one story (don’t remember where I heard it, whether on this website or somewhere else), there was a man and his friend hiding in a shelter that they hid extremely well for the purpose of “squatching”. They did a really great job on the shelter and were hidden very well and they had equipment that amplifies sound etc. They stayed out all night because they understood them to be creatures of the night. They heard this bigfoot walking really close to their shelter and it kept walking back and forth trying to find “something” but it couldn’t. I believe it was trying to find them because it could smell them but it couldn’t pin point their location because of how well hidden they were. And the thing is…it was raining. So that shows how strong their sense of smell is, if they indeed were sensing them in the rain but couldn’t locate the source. There are also stories of men sneaking up on the things unknowingly and realizing that the wind was in their favor so they realized it probably didn’t smell them as they approached. Just wanted to give you my 2 cents on that, so maybe it can help you with your idea of using scent to your advantage. Cheers!

  35. Simon P

Great interviews as always Wes. Always like hearing the opinion and thoughts of Bob Garrett.

Chas and Kelly – Good job guys. Looking forward to seeing and hearing more about your expeditions.

  36. Clifford R

    To Chas,

I applaud your scientific skepticism but DON’T let that other 49% of doubt make you slow on the trigger. You mentioned you’ve been reading David Paulides, so you know what can happen. It won’t be a rape, more likely it will be one of the alpha males popping your head off like a flip top bottle or ripping you limb from limb. One of Wes’s earlier shows had a guy on who investigated a “Bear” attack (that’s what they called it) but what the one survivor (hunting guide) who told it recounted was that one of the hunting party shot one and it’s mate ran up and ripped him apart. And… that’s what many Indian tribes will tell you they will do to you if they get pissed and also what those Army Ranger dudes who “Mr Black” said get called out from time to time said. “We go out in 12 man teams. And DON’T let one get hold of you, because if it does, there is nothing we can do for you!”

    • Dana J

The point is don’t shoot the things.!!!!! Dah!!!!! What would YOU do if that was your wife shot? I’d guess you’d empty all your aggression onto it. Just think- if the shoe is on the other foot…..
They have families- so far seem to be in small family groups with a few unruly teenagers. From what i hear- monogamous, too. They casually seem to have caring, kind personalities. Leave the guns at home. Bring a bright light for dangerous situations- they don’t like that because it blinds them. They appearantly cant switch from dark to bright surroundings easily. That’s why they don’t go to houses all it up. Easy peasy.
      Just thinking.

  37. Frankie P

This is even better the second time around. (I had trouble with the new player on my pc both times, but the old one worked fine! and I have a new pc, go figure).

Thank you for a great show and so glad you thanked the LEO’s for us. We need more like them! And always great to hear from Bob G. His good sense about these creatures really helps all.

  38. Mike H

Not saying the rock structure isn’t what they say it is. But the grapes…I am going to say those probably came from hikers who stopped there for a snack.

  39. Coop

I’m bringing this back from the dead for Halloween buwahahaha

Any update ever from Kelly and Chaz? Any new videos, well at least newer than this one?

  40. L S

Once you realize that the one or two hostile negative commenters are likely low level gov paid shills, pathetic 50¢ army, the easier it is to laugh at the effort. Great show, great work, guys.

  41. Kimberly M

I just listened. Great episode! And what an AWESON video! I heard you say some nucklehead made a bad comment. Pay no attention to haters. People are jealous or just unhappy with their own life they have to put others down. Your video was great and edited with great music. It looked professional to me! I hope you find one of those creatures and are able to get some more evidence. I have an idea, take a recording of kids playing and take a doll out there. See if you can draw one in. Try not to bathe for a few days before going out next time. Don’t wash your hair or use deodorant. GOOD LUCK. Please post any updates! Stay safe too!!!

  42. Tarquin C

it’s interesting that they make the jump from paulides 411 to sasquatch- he (DP)always stresses sasquatch never mentioned. BAD music on vid, and is cut a lot- I’d hoped to see more of a progression.

  43. Dana J

The creatures know who belongs on the property and when someone else arrives especially if they (he usually) has bad/negative energy Sasquash doesn’t want them there. Actually good watch-dogs! Be kind, respectful and they will help you. We have seen it and heard than being done.
And abut suddenly tearing down structures lighting it up. May back-fire. They don’t have the concept of ownership. Maybe cover the structure with a sheet and leave some trinkets like marbles and 2 apples. You want a peaceful settlement not going in with guns/ights blazing. Light your house, the barn, animal pen but not their structure. Very disrespectful. Covering with a sheet is not and leave a “gift”.
    Just thinking.
