SC EP:158 Face to face with a Sasquatch in British Columbia

I will be speaking to Warren who is a tribal member from British Columbia. He was in the middle of nowhere on construction site and was working the night shift repairing the roads. He walked up to use the porta potty and thought one of his co-workers were walking up to scare him. He stepped out of the porta potty and hid in the bushes to get the jump on his co-worker when he jumped out to scare him he was face to face with a Sasquatch. Warren was just a few feet away from the creature. He said it vocalized at him in almost an irritated sound. It was a very cold night and he was so close he could see the hot air come out of its mouth. He describes the creatures eyes as having an amber color reflecting back from the moonlight. Warren said “I am 6’5 with my work boots on and this thing towered above me. We sat and looked at each other for what seemed like forever than the creature turned and walked away into the treeline. I heard it break a huge branch with its hands, I ran for my life.” The encounter upset Warren so much that he quit that job the next day.

I will also be speaking to Norman who is from GA who had a daytime road crossing. He was heading home on a back country road when a Sasquatch crossed in front of him. Norman says “This thing only took 3 steps to get across a two lane highway.”

Join me tonight!

Really good encounters! First one was terrifying and I really feel bad for him. So long ago, but still so affected. And Norman’s account and his wife’s – that is a real wake up call no matter what. Good descriptions from both of them, and appreciate their stepping forward.

Another homerun boss, keep doin what you’re doing boss. It’s definitely working. I think it’s a little funny that he tried to do the scaring but the tables turned almost immediately

I don’t know if I would ever want to see one, I live in upstate NY and when I say upstate I mean I can see Canada from my porch, on the St Lawerence river. We haven’t had any sightings around here but I have a feeling they aren’t far, I live right across the river from ontario Canada and I know there have been sighting there, thanks for the hard work guys, love the show, I wait every week for a new one, Wes will there be more content comming? It seems that since the change in personnel there has been a dip In content on the episodes, I know its hard with just you, but I am a paying member and I remember you saying that you had alot of plans for the paying members and the sight, like I said I understand that it’s only you and I’m just asking so I know what to be looking out for, thanks agean for your hard work wes

I’m from Ontario Canada and I’m white but I grew up with natives and was good friends with many of them, they are very honest people and when it comes to the outdoors/hunting/fishing they don’t go around making up stories. This guy was telling the truth 100%. What a terrifying encounter Warren had, I couldn’t even imagine the fear that went through this poor guy seeing that monster so close up. Great episode like always Wes!

  5. WALT D

Thanks Wes and to both Warren and Norman. Going out and looking for the big guy is exciting and unerving. After looking for 38 years camping hunting fishing throughout califonia and the pacific northwest I am probably lucky I have not had an encounter. I question if I would ever have the nerve to go out and do what I love so much if I came across the big guy. Maybe I am the lucky one after all. Good job Wes. Grey hair at 23 yikes !

What a terrifying encounter. Thanks so much for sharing your story, Warren. I can only imagine how horrifying it would be to see a real monster out in the middle of nowhere and to realize that you are helpless to do anything about it. I hope your nightmares subside and that talking about it helps in some way. I have never seen one and never want to, but I am a total believer. I am not surprised that you think of the experience daily and that you are still traumatized after all these years. Maybe the only good thing is that you now know firsthand what lurks in the wild areas of the world.

Thanks to you too, Norman. Your sighting was interesting, as well. I am glad you were able to keep your wits about you and didn’t lose control of your car. As Wes stated, the thing had to have heard your car, which makes me think the beast didn’t care if you saw him. I appreciate you sharing your sighting.

This happened in my neck of the woods. Thomasvile is not far from his account. There is alot of chicken farms around here.keystone foods(cagles) has chicken houses all over .there is a chicken plant in moultrie Ga.and they have chicken houses all around these guys house. I know what they put in the chicken feed, growth hormones (steroids) to make the chickens grow fast and big!!

  8. Manuel A

    Great show to night Wes!
Warren, you are very brave for telling your encounter,
I hope you never see one of those creatures again.
Norman, you’re brave as well, both of you stay safe:)

  9. Phyllis E

Thanks Warren and sons. Interesting encounter and hope you feel better after sharing. You are certainly not alone but yours was close up. Take care and thanks for sharing with SC

Thanks Norman for sharing. You’re apparently in an area they pass through. Stay safe and try to warn your neighbors. Hope you are relieved after sharing your encounter.

I just opened up the show. If winter has arrived in WA..the squatches are moving south and from high elevations to lower ones. Lets remind those who live in the migration path to keep an eye out for strange behaviors. Especially in Oregon and Northern CA as the herds move south.

  11. matthew D

The ones who don’t move south may be creeping closer to town for easy meals, so bring your pets in at night, and don’t take the trash out after dark if you’re close to wilderness areas.

  12. matthew D

Also, we know that it’s rutting season, per some episodes from our listeners in southern states. They are going to be more daring and bold this time of year, so be careful. That extra early morning jog through the forest or park trails should probably be done on a treadmill in the gym or garage. Let’s do our best to reduce the 411 cases this year. That’s all I have. Thanks for reading.

  13. matthew D

Oh, last reminder, if you really feel you’re dealing with Squatch issues. Document, document, document everything you can for the eventual follow up. Dates times sounds temperatures direction distance disposition sizes colors duration frequency smells lengths heights weights speed, anything and everything. It’s easy to exclude data after the event, impossible to try and recollect it.

  14. anthony t

Thank you warren, norman and wes. warren’s encounter was truly horrifying and has changed him forever. i dont think i ever wanna see one especially that close.thank you very much for sharing…thanks.

  15. Russell K

Sounded like a legit story. And then he said its eyes were amber colored. This was at night under a moon but im gonna say bs. At 40 paces no way can you see eye color especially in moonlight.

  16. Leah G

Warren & Norman, thank you for being brave enough to man-up and tell the truth. Regardless of the nature of it, there is always honor in truth. Warren, I hope sharing your encounter helps you find your center\peace again.

  17. Jennifer W

Thank you, Warren, for sharing your experience with us. What–repeatedly–comes to my mind as I hear story after story like this is that they would nearly always rather just live and let live, even though they clearly have the power to be aggressors. And, as Bob has pointed out many times, most aggressive behaviors seem merely to be designed to get humans to leave what they must feel is their home (and don’t humans so the same thing when people and animals trespass on their property?). However, in so many of the cases, such as Warren’s, they don’t do anything aggressive at all (other than just be themselves, which in itself is clearly overwhelming for us puny humans) as they then move off and go about their business.

    Another great show, Wes.

Warren, it’s fantastic that your sons want to share in your experience & even if the release is some small portion, it’s a big win-win for your family.

Norman, you & your wife are doing an important program for your neighbors. Keep up the good work.

So..Thats who Moses talked to on the Mt.,…… More great interviews… That second interview.. The squatch looking back where he came from, then turn and walked off… It seems to me, the creature did hear the car coming.. Then maybe looked at other squatch that were with him/her….. Then walked quickly over the 2-lane road in the other direction….. Kinda like some people believe Patty did.. to lure away from squatch offspring…. just a thought… Ciao

Thanx for coming forward Warren and sharing. I remember when they were building the coquihalla and it goes thru absolute nowhere land.
Even now adays i wouldn’t want to have a breakdown on it at night! Been in a few pull outs that have really given me the creeps.
    Excellent guest Wes.
    Thank you.

  21. Pat T

Warren, thanks so much for coming forward and sharing. Wow, amazing encounter was glued to your story the entire time. Hope your trauma subsides man. Sharing the way you did has to be therapeutic for sure. Warren, thanks as well for letting us here your encounter. Wes, I really don’t know why the one guy is second guessing the content on this show as I see it has been only improving over the months. Your guests lately have had some incredible ordeals for sure. Keep it up man!

  22. jamie smith

Awesome show as always, I’m always listening, still doing my own search here in Australia, just been through a marriage break up and this show keeps me going, thanks Sasquatch chronicles !!!

  23. Donna A

Wes-may God bless you for the help you are giving encounter victims and thank you, on their behalf, for wanting to do it. For every one that comes fwd there must be many more still silent but getting comfort from SQ and your work.

I listen to the show and believe even though to much of society it seems unbelievable . I understand their disbelief , up until five years ago I dismissed it also.there is too much evidence to support the reality , too many encounters to dismiss as BS.
I found it interesting that Wes acknowledged a good amount of listeners as doubters . Why would they listen then? Probably because even if they don’t believe it is still interesting and fun I’ll have my twelve year old listen to a good episode to try and interest him in it. He doesn’t believe but he still likes to listen . Well I guess he never said he doesn’t but I don’t think he would want to admit to it.
SC is helping to bring the reality of this creature to the forefront of realization to an unwilling society of non believers . Good show! Thanks
    Wes !

My God!,I finally had a chance to listen to Warren’s encounter carefully and was nauseated by the time he was finished telling his story I mean I was in it when he stared explaining the details of his sheer terror you know the way he explained it ripping tree limbs my God! I know that sound! Best show in a long time Wes! this one might give me nightmares!so many great details I am actually sick to my stomach now.

Warren: my heart goes out to you. I am so sorry you had to experience this behemoth creature. You were so close to him… physically in such close proximity, I can’t even imagine how terrifying it must have been. You said he was about 40 yards away and then you waited a second or two and stepped back out thinking a regular person would have been maybe half way up the road to you. Instead he was right there??!! He must have been silent like you said. Otherwise you would have known how quickly and close had moved.

I’m glad to hear you have discussed it with your boys. I’m not saying you should drive out there next year to make peace with it. That is something only you can answer for yourself. But I think it is imperative that you pass along the fact that they exist to your children. And anyone else who will listen. Because it is important that people understand they are out there. In fact I think that is the most important thing you can do…just keep talking about it. You can’t change your past. You can’t re-write history to make this thing go away. But you can warn others of their existence. Maybe in some way that will help bring peace to your life. Nobody should have to relive a terrifying encounter every single day for the rest of their life.

The more I think about it the more I think that the reason it is so terrifying, especially to men (big men, young and strong and strapping men, well armed men) is because of society’s denial of their existence. And the myth that men are king of the jungle so to speak. As a female we are raised with different expectations. We are taught from a young age the we are prey (so to speak). We are taught from the time we are toddlers to be cautious of adults who might try to touch us in the wrong places. To be careful of all people not just strangers, Then we start dating we are warned about young men with ulterior motivers. We are told to always think about it,,,maybe not catch a ride with a young man we don’t know so well. always double date, watch what you drink, etc etc. And so we just come to realize that somebody is always going to be bigger and stroner than us. We need to be smart and not put ourselves in situations where we could sudch dangers. After a while if isn’t so scary. Sure

Well lets I am from maple ridge bc. It’s about 45 mins from hope so I no what Warren was talking about. I went up camping about a 6 weeks ago. I was going up Harrison west logging road I got to the 8 km mark and there was a road block do to a fire that broke out at a lake called wood lake so it was a really big fire. So I was not aboul to go were I wanted to camp becouse the sacurity turned me around so I was upset but as I was just about ready to leave there was a convoy of SUV’ they really looked like army soldiers there was 6 SUV’ all had tinted windows but you could see in them. Not one guy looked at me as I drove vary slow by them but as I got to the last one the guy gave me the sturn look anyone has ever given me. But the weird thing is that the first truck had 2 guys and the rest had 1. So I thought that was weird but let it go. So now I went to a lake called Frances lake witch is about 30 mins back from there. I was having a good weekend I was out dirt biking and I came across this guy on a dirtbike on the side of the login road in the middle of nowhere. He was all camoed up looking for something or someone so I pulled up to him to say hi and I could see he was talking in to a mic that he had on. Just like the secret service. So I got a bad vib from him. So I said hi and asked him what was going on around here becouse of the fire and he told me that he was hunting witch does make sense. So like I said I was getting a bad vib so I asked were the road when to that we were on and he said it goes to the lake. Well I said have a good day and road around the corner and it was a turn around I looked back as I was just turning the corner and he was gone. That was a weird weekend. I have been listening to this podcast for a year now and remember hearing on one of them about how the government or big corporate companies send in soldiers to kill these things. I really think that is what was going on. I never herd why the fire started or who started it? Could it be

O.M.G. My half brothers grew up playing in these places he mentioned, on the Frazer River, lived in Alberta & British Columbia with my mom. As little boys they played in the woods chopping trees and building forts. Nobody ever heard of Sasquatch! I really enjoyed Warren’s story but I can imagine that an encounter like that, the fear would stay with you a life time. I may be curious what they look like, but I have heard enough of the encounters on here to know that I NEVER want to encounter one. Even in a car I cannot imagine that you would ever feel safe enough. There he stood face to face too scared to move. I wonder what would have happened if he had run? The creature could easily have gotten him but was not interested. Thanks Wes and the guests for a super interesting show!!

I recently had my first “encounter” with a bigfoot. I was traveling east on I-44 near Chickasha, OK. ( A road I am very familiar with) when I saw a what, at first, was a Red Cedar tree, where I had never seen one, before. I pulled to the side of the highway for a better look. My wife was with me, and wanted to know why I was stopping. I told her, “Look at that tree.” Her reply was, “So what. It’s just a tree.”
I told her to watch, and honked my horn. The “tree” stood up and began to walk away. She was amazed! It moved to a draw at the other end of the field and disappeared from sight. It was observed from a distance of approximately 40 yds. to a distance of approximately 150 yds. and approximately 15-30 seconds. It was (again approximately) 6′ -7 ft. tall, and 4-5 hundred lbs. Hair was 4-5″ long, and reddish brown. Almost exactly the same color as a Red Cedar tree so common in these parts.

My wife NOW is a believer.
