I will be welcoming Pete Breidahl to the show. In 2008 Pete was a soldier serving as a “Peacekeeper” on Guadalcanal in the Solomon Island chain, when on a long-range patrol deep into its impenetrable jungles, Pete met a terrified young man that had never met a white man before.
But he wasn’t scared by the soldiers, he feared the creature he had encountered that morning while hunting. He described a classic “Bigfoot” type creature, and after a quick google search back at base Pete soon realized that Bigfoot and “Giant” sightings on Guadalcanal were very common indeed. Pete never forgot this encounter and returned in search of the creatures as soon as he had left the military.

I couldn’t make it more than 10 minutes. disparaging of indigenous cultures and people – platforming racism – this guest was abhorrent. I am disappointed.

Very fascinating! The Solomon Islands nation is one of the poorest in the world, with most of its people living a hand to mouth existence. But, I don’t doubt that the people who live there, especially in the more remote areas, are aware of many things that are beyond our Western minds.
Rigo R
just started the episode. can’t wait to hear what people in the chat are talking about

I have never known about Giants in the Solomons. My best friends Father with the 1st Marines on Guadalcanal in 1942 thru early 43 never spoke of them. I knew about the battle of Aligator Creek where the Japanese made bonzi charges and lost appx 1000 soldiers. Reports state the crocodiles fed well that day.
Great episode with Pete Breidahl and the giants of the Solomons. I learned a lot of a place I never imagined would be teaming with such creatures. It is a real tragedy of how poor the inhabitants are. Before this episode I listened to Robert of Cabin in the Woods and he mentioned Pete and the Giants of the Solomons. And he made a pretty good case of the high strangeness and being UFO related. Pete has put out a tremendous amount of camera’s and has not picked up a single subject of which he spoke. Something is going on for sure.
