SC EP:1220 The Fort Benning Incident

Tex writes “I am currently serving in the United States Army as an Airborne Infantry soldier with the 82nd Brigade, stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Growing up, I had several strange experiences in the woods moments that didn’t make sense at the time but, looking back now, could very well be connected to Bigfoot or Sasquatch.

My most significant encounter, however, occurred in January of 2025 during a field training exercise with my basic training company at Fort Benning, Georgia. What happened wasn’t a single sighting, but encounters with what I believe were three separate beings possibly a small family group of Sasquatch inhabiting the forested outer edge of the base.

I’d heard plenty of stories about unusual activity on Fort Benning and other military installations, but I never imagined something like this would happen to me especially not with a witness alongside me. During one night in our patrol base, we had contact with two large entities. We fired blank rounds, and things quickly escalated into complete chaos.

The following day, while conducting a patrol as a two man team, my buddy Hal and I encountered something large, upright, and covered in shaggy dark reddish-brown hair. It was partially concealed behind a tree at our 10 o’clock position, approximately 50 meters away, watching us as we slowly backed toward our patrol base.

We both knew exactly what we had seen. We agreed not to say anything to the rest of the squad at least until our Drill Sergeants called us in for a serious, in-depth conversation. Some of the things they said and implied made it feel as though they already knew what was out there and wanted the incident kept quiet.

I would be more than willing to speak with you further about this experience, and it would be an honor to be on the show.”

thx Wes, hi guys. This encounter sounds so scary. I wouldn’t know what to do if I was in Tex’ shoes. Tell the truth and deal with the consequences or be tight lipped and deal with those consequences. That’s scary ON TOP OF scary. Thx for sharing Tex and Thank you for your service… truly. Thank you. sending love and hugs from Maine to all my SC family members. We have to keep this a safe place where ppl can share their experiences and not be ridiculed or any other bullshit. Thx Wes

Tex has put himself out there for trouble with his employer; he was in FT Benning in Jan ‘25, only 1 yr ago, he’s currently at Bragg 82nd Airborne, he’s 6’5”. I hope some of this is misinformation so they can’t pinpoint him. When Tex was speaking of the secret facility in the far portions of Benning, wouldn’t surprise me if something nuclear is stored or studied there. These beings have a history of being spotted around these facilities

thanks Wes and Tex for the great show! Been a subscriber and member for about 4 or 5 years now. Definitely worth it just to support Wes and keep his lights on. He provides so much entertainment and knowledge about something that not many people even know exists. Thanks again brother!

Also, a note to my fellow Chroniclers – please be nice to your neighbors and the people around you. There’s so much hatred and division being spread right now, and it’s just not worth it. Life is too short for hate. We need to love each other even if we disagree with their beliefs, be they political or religious.

The training scenario reminds me of a 2002 werewolf movie named Dog Soldiers. The military troops are on a training mission with no live ammo and run into a pack of werewolves. Great little werewolf movie. What a frightening and frustrating situation that would be to have the hardware but no live ammo.

Wes Wes Wes you must list the names of the music that you play. I often want to download it for my music library, but I cannot find the title and Shazam is way off identifying things that are just not the right answer. Who knows where this song came from? If you know, please email me at info@bigfootnh.com.

Good show Tex, and I feel for you and Hal. However at least you know what was there with you two, so this was an advantage. Looks like you broke your oath Tex. I probably would have also. The high brass at these military basis know. I wonder how far down the chain of command this goes. It seems your Sergeant knows a little. Back in the day I suspect, there could be a lot of repercusions if you talked about it. Now days, because there are so many soldiers and ex soldiers that know, I doubt they would do much. So good to hear a very recent account by a still active soldier. Thanks much Tex.
It is kind of funny when you think about. The military has these multiple thousands of acres woods bases. They send there recruits and seasoned soldiers out there for stealth combat training. At the same time Bigfoot families or groups in these areas are doing the same. I would even suggest the Bigfoot know that real ammo/bullets are not being used.

Shazam like Gomer Pyle just kidding. My guess is it is a Carlo Santana instrumental of which he made quite a few. It just has his guitar twang to it. Very soothing song I might add.

So many encounters on military bases and always seems that higher ups know about it. Does it go further? Do you guys think your government actually have a relationship with Sasquatch and let them live on military bases? I’m in Australia so I have know idea, just seems like same thing happens over and over.
