SC EP:1169 No doubt he was coming to kill us

Carrie writes “It’s taken me almost 3 years to write this email. I’ve tried a few times over the years but convinced myself that you probably won’t contact me so I just deleted the other emails. But I have an encounter that happened to me when I was 20 and the details of what I seen will stick with me for the rest of my life!

Long story (extremely short:)

Me and my x boyfriend was at the boat ramp on Quintette River in Escambia Florida at dusk. The sun was still up enough we could see good but it was starting to set. This was around the beginning of summer as I remember sitting at the ramp on shorts. We was killing time until we went back to his house. We was there an hour maybe a little more before we heard a HUGE splash from across the river, which is a decent size river. Before the splash, there was dead silence.. Across from the ramp it’s nothing but woods and forest for miles.

I thought a bear or alligator jumped into the river and was swimming to us so we ran to my truck that was parked at the edge of the ramp. I turned on my headlights so we could see clearly and the creature was already halfway across the river! It was RUNNING NOT SWIMMING with it’s hands over it’s head almost like an over hand swimming motion but he never went deeper than his chest. The way he was able to cross a river that deep and swift as fast as he did was mind-blowing and I almost couldn’t comprehend it at the time. I was frozen in fear when it got to the end of the ramp, I expected it to keep coming up the ramp but instead it pulled it’s self up on the DOCK and it stared at us, eyes wide teeth showing. I can describe everything from every wrinkle in his face, his devilish eyes, nails, arms, chest EVERYTHING!

The ramp is over 4 foot wide and his chest was as big of not a little bigger then the width of the ramp! It started climbing up the end of the ramp, after I got a good look at everything, I backed up and turned the truck around as fast as I could and got out of there. Years later there are STILL finger nail marks on that ramp where it pulled itself up!

Since then I have met my current Boyfriend (he has his own encounter where he was chased by one a couple years before we met) and we love to go out riding at dusk to dawn throughout the night in the forest looking to see what we can come across. We love all animals and how beautiful the night sky is.

We stay alert and because of that we have a few different times and I have a couple daytime pictures of different things that happened but none as clear as the time I was less than 15 foot from one. I have more details regarding his face, color and everything from when it came across the river at me but it would take a long time to explain in an email. I truly hope you reach out to me! I would love to tell my encounter and describe in detail every thing I seen as he stared me down in the few minutes before I could drive away. No doubt he was coming to kill us, he was very evil, his eyes dark and teeth showing!”

Ok, I’m honestly not being rude but I have a question, she said when it pulled itself up onto the dock it stood there for 1-2 minutes but then said she couldn’t say how tall he was because she could say because she was too busy flipping the truck around. Like I said not being rude but I don’t understand that, or did I miss something?. ❣️‼️

I agree. I had to go back a few minutes to fully understand that only the upper half was out of the water. I do wonder when she talked about people leaving fish heads and possibly whole fish on the grounds, if this Bigfoot might have made a routine at dusk of going over to this ramp area to get an easy meal.

To give ber a bit of a break in these situations time will slow down. I imagine what she did see was frozen in her mind. 16 years ago is a long time so maybe she just mixed it up. it happens.

Hey, This is my encounter and I apologize for the confusion. But when he made it across the river and pulled himself up, he only pulled himself up to his waist before we jumped in and slammed the doors around the same time. When we slammed the doors and he was pulled up, he only was to his waist. When I backed the tuck up, is when I thought he was shifting his weight to pull up the rest of his body and I didn’t want to wait around to see what would happen. Hope this clears up the confusion some. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I mean I wasn’t there, but it definitely doesn’t sound like it was trying to kill them. With these things, if they want you dead, you’re probably not going to make it out alive, plus if it meant them harm, it doesn’t make sense that it would have paused. If it’s about to kill somebody, it doesn’t care if you see what it looks like, I think the pause was meant for intimidation. Sounds like it was just trying to intimidate as per usual. Plus, if it was as dangerous as all that you’d probably have a lot of missing people right around that area. They may have interrupted a hunt or something and it was probably trying to convey a message that they needed to leave immediately or else.

    • Charles R

I would agree with you Karla G, that it most likely was an intimidation. Either is was suprised that there was a vehicle and humans there, (doubtful due to the lood music) or it just wanted them to leave, maybe to find left over fish and heads, which she described.

Great show Wes! Thanks for Putting The Lights On LIVE! I’ve never heard that version..thanks! ♥️
That was an intense experience Carrie..thanks for sharing it! When I heard you describe him coming across the water like that I got scared myself..🙏🏻♥️

As someone else said, if these things wanted to kill you you would never know what hit you, based on my experience with an “aggressive” creature. I walked by it in a dense forest and didn’t know it was there until it pushed over a mature jackpine. I think when they let you know they’re around that’s when they don’t want to attack but just frighten people to leave.

man, I really want to believe every one of these encounters as a default but the way she described how he came out of the water in a fluid motion but then said he didn’t pulled up to his belly button and paused

These creatures ARE in our history books, but we’ve allowed ourselves to believe that their skeletons are from “neanderthals” or ancient “cavemen”. All of those supposed ancient people with block flat teeth are sasquatches, not humans. They are the beasts from the Earth in Revelation 6, as well as the “evil beasts” prophesied all throughout Ezekiel. These creatures are evil, and there’s millions of them. The only reason don’t attack more people is because the 4th seal hasn’t been opened yet.

    Thanks, Germer and Carrie!

What a great account. Carrie was very articulate and provided some great details and insight. There however seems to be some confusion about what the creature did or did not do at the end of the dock.

This encounter is fun because you can look at the location while listening to it. The Quintette boat launch is easily found on google maps. From the overview it matches up with her account consistently. I measured the rivers width from the end of the dock, and it is around 250 feet. Grok says this about the depth:

Depth at Quintette Landing Boat Launch Estimated Depth: The water depth at the boat ramp is likely 3–6 feet under normal conditions, suitable for launching small boats (14–16 feet) and kayaks, which are recommended for this section of the Escambia River. Deeper areas in the main channel or nearby holes just beyond the ramp may reach 10–20 feet, particularly in bends or sloughs like those near Quintette Lake or Horseshoe Lake.

In all fairness Grok was way off on width.

Width at Quintette Landing Boat Launch Estimated River Width: The Escambia River at Quintette Landing is relatively narrow compared to its lower tidal sections. Based on descriptions of the river’s middle section and local knowledge, the river width at the boat launch is likely 50–100 feet under normal conditions. This is consistent with the river’s suitability for smaller boats and the presence of a log jam that spans the riverbed just north of the landing.

There is no street view at the boat launch, but there is from the bridge, and you can see dock. It is on pilings and was several feet above the water. When you listen carefully to Carrie’s description she talks about him effortlessly hoisting himself up by gripping either side of the dock. When you hear that you assume he climbs up onto the dock, but she never says that. Picture hoisting yourself at a pools edge and stopping before lifting your leg up. You’re at a decision point, half in and half out of the water. Do you climb out or slide back in the water? I believe this was what Carrie was describing when it was staring at her. When it made a motion forward, she went into reverse.

The overview also clarifies her escape and fears. The boat ramp road is .5 miles long until you can turn onto Quintette road. You then have to turn left to go to Quintette. You parallel the boat launch road and pass it when you enter the bridge. The Booger only needed to travel 133 feet to get to the edge of Quintette Road where Carrie had to drive a mile to get to the bridge and past the boat launch.

    Hope this helps

This incident site is across the East Bay from me. It’s not far from the Yellow River and Black River swamps, the Sabe creatures are sometimes seen close to the boat ramps on Hwy 87 by me and Hwy 85 out of Ft Walton Beach east of us.

    • Tami H

I went down there last night. This ramp isn’t that long maybe 30 feet max. It looks longer in Google for sure. The water does go up and down drastically because of thunderstorms/rainfall and maybe even the tide (not sure on that one).
You can easily notice the current. I went down there on my drive home. I could have easily parked my jeep and had 15 feet to the docs edge. And the little pond area is next to the landing. I am with her. It’s a little dark down in that area, creepy. Lot’s of small boat fishermen in the evening. If you look into the brush its just dark. I believe every word of her encounter.

Once saw a group of what I thought were people wading in the river with their hands out, like you do for balance. I thought it was a family of local black folks. They were way off in the distance near a bend in the river at Bent Creek. When the boat got down to where they had been I didn’t see any water shallow enough for a family to wade in and the current was strong there. Since listening to other people’s experiences I have figured out what I saw that day. Keep up the good work everybody.

Gteat show Wes and Carrie! I’ve been a researcher for over 17 years abd a bear hunter. No front on encounter yet but I can imagine the fear. Thank you for sharing

  10. Chad W

Great episode! Thanks for your descriptive and engaging recounting, Carrie, and as always, thanks Wes! And, it was fun to hear Pompeya playing live. I’d never heard that before. Enjoyed it a lot!

Wes, what a great show tonight! Carrie, thank you for sharing your story. Riveting! Wicked Scary! Surreal. I’d never want to see what you saw.Whatever these things are, they belong in the woods. That’s their home and I’m sure there are good ones, as well as bad ones, just like we humans.

  12. John A

OMG! She was WHAT obviously? yep, that’s what it was. Ole squatch just had to have some of dat dap….
(I’m sorry, I couldn’t help it, just funnin)

  13. Eric K

Carrie mentions having music with deep base from her speakers. which reminds me of the Motorcycle club where everyone leaves before dark due to the Sasquatch throwing things at the motorcycles
Perhaps, the deep base, like the rumble of the Harley’s sets them off.
Once it was closer then it could have smelled her, changing his attitude somewhat to a sexual overtone.
Pure speculation on my part but it makes sense to me.

    Great show Wes!

  14. Anne W

As others have commented I want to believe this encounter but it seems like she embellished at first? maybe nervousness but honest encounters remember everything to a T and have no need to not relate the encounter except exactly as it occurred. They are burned into their consciousness. Great job, Wes!

Is “pure evil” better or worse than impure evil? I’m asking not for me but for my ex-girlfriend (at the time). I’ll kinda let you explain the difference to her. Thank you in advance for your attention to this question.

  16. Gary H

if you look at the BFRO website for her county, you will see other encounters from that same area. looking on the map, it looks pretty swampy.

  17. Beverly L

Great episode. I believe her account. she may have used the word “stood” (or whatever) when she really meant “paused.” I know when I’m telling a story, I’m all over the place. Nice to hear from a female point of view.

  18. Matt K

She heard a splash but seen it still falling so what made the splash? Also she said it climb out of the water pulled it body up as easily as we could pick up piece paper then looked at her. Then she said it didn’t fully come out the water before she left so when Wes asked her how tall it was she said she left. Idk man I’m just confused.

I wish all the content were on YouTube, for those guests that I have a hard time understanding because they talk fast (for me they talk fast; I have an issue with processing speech. The guest has a lovely voice, btw). On the YouTube, you can slow a video/audio down. On the other hand, YouTube is an arm of the toxic monopoly Google…So I’m torn.

Great stories, though, I enjoyed this one. Funny how sasquatch keep themselves hidden 95% of the time–but when they decide to show themselves, they really, really show themselves! This one was a pants-crapper, for sure.

Thank you for a great episode! Thank you Carrie for sharing your story, much respect! This is an amazing account. This location is exactly 1.5 miles away from my home. When I first started listening, Quintette was familiar! I literally drive through this area twice a day. I have been down to the boat ramp. We do not currently fish here but many people do. This area is so similar to locations from my childhood home in Oregon that I love driving this stretch. Brushy, and heavy trees on both sides of Quintette Road – and then river. The swampy area is an added bonus if you like swamps. I have always wondered about Sasquatch here, especially listening to Sasquatch Chronicles on my way to and from work….. Well folks now we know!
