SC EP:1148 Running Into Sasquatch

Thomas writes “Hey wes longtime listener I live in cle elum wa I had a sighting in 1976 when I was 9 so if interested get ahold of me 😁.” Spoke to the witness and he has agreed to come on the show.

He said “My older sister wanted to go have a smoke and she was not allowed to smoke. We hiked through the forest when I came upon this creature and it was squatted down. I heard the growl before I saw it.

I am about 8 feet away and the creature went from a crouched position to standing up and it seemed like she went up and up and up. It had a lot of human features but the mouth went from ear to ear. I could not believe how big the mouth was. I staring at it and it is staring at me and my sister grabs me and we take off running.

My aunt later told me that “it” lives in her barn, she saw it many times.”

We will also be speaking to Gil and Gil writes “In 1987 when I was fifteen years old and on my way home one late night or early morning on my moped and one stepped into the road right in front of me and stopped directly in front of me and I almost hit him. I was so close to him I could have touched him.

From the first to the last, my latest sighting I saw a family , being a large male and female who was just a foot shorter than the male, and she was carrying a little one, it was less than a mile from my home , they had glowing red eyes and the little one had glowing white eyes. they crossed the road in front of me and then stopped on the side of the road.”

      Wes,
      I have been on your podcast telling of what I encountered a few years ago. What i don’t understand is how you let someone like this guy Gil make up a Bigfoot encounter and you just go along with it? I can poke so many holes in his story ( he worked 30 miles away from his home and traveled on his mope head home in 30 minutes? Everyone knows mope heads don’t go over 30mph and that would mean he was going 60mph on his first encounter) and then he said on his other encounter, he had never had an encounter before???? So he didn’t know what to see.. For the love of God, please let someone like myself ( a keen listener to facts and untruths,and call these people out who give the true and honest encounter stories people from not wanting to tell their stories ) It’s not just on your podcast, but many,many more. Calling these liars out so they can’t and won’t diminish the people out here telling the truth. Enough is enough!!
      People like Gil is the reason why society makes such a joke about Bigfoot! If I knew what it takes to start a podcast, my platform would only be to poke holes and call out the liars and phone’s who make the Bigfoot world a laughing stock!

        Gil might feel the same way about listening to you tell your encounter. He might think every part of you talking was nonsense. Who is right?

        Sometimes I feel the same way. I will be listening and some people have these stories with just too many details. It’s like they are more interested in hearing their own voice. Most of the time it’s frustrating because I told my story too and I don’t think he believed me because half of it got cut. But it was real and it got cut and then these guys lie for an hour straight and I am desperately wanting to interject and ask questions. Oh well

    What an encounter Gil!! I rode a CB200 motorcycle to and from work as a 15 yr old. Thank heavens it was only thru town late at night, but back then it was crickets thru town! thanks for sharing!

    The Manistee is a HUGE forest. From my front door I can be walking a two track in the forest in less than two minutes. I’ve had some funky experiences there over the years.

      Jessica, I was curious about that, too. It was written and performed by the Texas rock band called ‘Khruangbin’, along with singer/songwriter Leon Bridges. It turns out that Khruangbin was nominated for the Best New Artist Grammy last year. Also, as a San Antonio resident, I can verify that the Texas sun is a thing, lol.

    Thomas and Gil were kids when this happened and that is just crazy to me. Thank you both for coming on the show. Thank you Wes! The moment I heard it was a moped, I went back in time. In my area, only the rich kids had those, lol.

    Wes always says they don’t attack 99.9% of the time. The problem is you’re not going to hear about the people that were attacked because they’re probably dead. You’re only hearing the stories where the people survived. People don’t live to tell to tell otherwise.

    SC Ep: 716 is one of those I’ll never forget. I remember thinking when the episode aired, that’s how they can have a disappearing trackway, and how they themselves can disappear as people have reported. Interesting note: a ghost i saw in my victorian was partially materialized in this same “water-like” manner, and she was partly black and gray, manifested almost like a real person only shades of gray instead of how we see people in color.

    I’d love to hear a show on the effect of infrasound as well – a lot of good research has been done by Dr Richard Wiseman over here in the UK and its effect on people causing paranormal events – be great to uexplore more, I think, ore how that might effect people having Bigfoot encounters!

    Love Thomas story I grew up in upper country ( So Cle Elum) I am Curious to where this actually was ! my dad was a logger and we always camped near his jobs. I never saw a Sasquatch.

    Great sighting Thomas and only 8 feet away – just awesome. Also amazing that your Aunt had at least that female on her property, and apparently to would bunk down in her barn. Maybe it was a young female that had not yet girthed out and finally moved on when she found a mate – possibility anyway. I can certainly understand your Father’s reaction, as this would be a taboo subject back then being in the foresty. Heck even now it would be frowned on I suspect.

    I wonder if any study videos exist, on animals that emit infrasound.

    I’m trying to wrap my mind around, how anything can alter it’s appearence, through the visual spectrum via infrasound.

    If no other creature on earth comes close to reproducing that effect then it must be a singular trait. If it’s a singular trait then someone has altered it’s DNA.
