Sasquatch description of a protruding jaw

Some reports that I get have some similar characteristics to other witness testimony taken that feature a noticeable protruding jaw. In most of these reports the witness describes a Sasquatch type creature with a ape-like jaw while other witnesses are describing something completely different like the dogman. The reports that I have received about a protruding jaw are not common but I do get them, most of these reports with this facial feature seem to be limited to a specific region of the United States. In some cases of the reports of a protruding jaw we are dealing with another “type” of Sasquatch but in some cases the protruding jaw could be prognathism.

A condition known as “prognathism,” a trait found in apes and in ancient human fossil skulls.

Prognathism2
Prognathism is a condition in which part of the jaw protrudes, causing the chin or upper jaw to jut forward. It can be genetic, as in the case of the famous Hapsburg jaw, or it can be the result of a medical condition. Depending on the severity of the condition, various treatments can be used to reduce the protrusion.

Prognathism3

Chimpanzees and other apes display what is known as “facial prognathism,” where the face protrudes beyond the top of the skull. Human faces are relatively flat in comparison. Additionally, a chimpanzee’s skull has no forehead and has prominent brow ridges above the eye sockets, whereas a human skull has an obvious forehead and chin. In fact, humans are the only primates with chins, so this is a telltale difference between humans and any other ape. It is important to note that I do not recall one witness who had a Sasquatch encounter describe a chin. In every instance the witnesses describe a very wide jaw.

Human teeth are small and relatively regular in size throughout the jaw in comparison to chimpanzee teeth, and the jaw is smaller overall. Chimpanzees have sharp, pronounced canines in the upper jaw that sit against large lower premolars in the lower jaw. These large teeth are used for threat displays and as weapons. Also, the mastoid process, where the jaw muscles attach to the skull is more distinct in human skulls than in chimpanzee skulls.

In most of the reports I have taken from witnesses that describe this facial prognathism or protruding jaw, the witnesses that were close enough or in some cases too close describe the creature growling or showing its teeth to reveal large pronounced canines. In other reports I have taken witnesses describe a very large wide jaw but not a protruding jaw. In those cases the witnesses describe large square like teeth, most say they do not recall seeing pronounced canines.

Regarding Sasquatch, the theory concludes that we are simply dealing with multiple species from the same family tree.

Very good explanation, and we have reports of “orang” and “chimpanzee” looking ones (Even baboon, if I remember correctly) which may explain a lot of the differences too. Can’t wait until we get specimen and/or verifiable dna to see just “what” these suckers are. That dog looking one with the “white” bunny is a real mystery, very baboon looking except for the color/size. Wish there had been more sightings of that.

That’s very true, I haven’t really pieced it together until I read this but I haven’t heard or read an encounter where the describe a chin. And we seem to be the only great ape with a neck also. Some scientists believe because of this we are the only great ape, I should say the only known great ape, to modulate or to make a languange. They did a study to find out if there is a possibility of language in the great apes and they way their jaws and necks are set up it makes it extremely difficult for them articulate some sounds correctly especially the sound “E”. The way their short necks and jaws are set up they can’t produce the sound “E”. I thought that was interesting tho

I don’t have a protruding jaw but I am proud to say that today I ate my first wood beetle larva to see if they really taste nutty ,to my surprise it was quite delicious and delicately sweet,I was sawing a bit of oak wood that I had poached from the county park for my BBQ needs and as I split the wood I notice a nice fat little grub and thinking about the blog post “I think I saw a Skunkape” I decided to go for it ,not a bad haul if one is starving in the woods,my only advice :only eat wood grubs that are from edible trees like oak or other fruit or nut bearing trees such as pine etc.

I was remembering how the data from cast tracks produced a nice bell curve, what you would expect from random sampling of an actual population. I can’t imagine we’ll ever have a good collection of “face” casts to harvest data from, but, I bet we could produce a mighty nice bell curve on the graph if we did. Sadly, here in California, prognathism is rampant, only we call it “crank jaw”, closely related to “copenhagen lip”
